If you started The Light on my Extended Scenes and One Shots Anthology, this is the first chapter to be posted outside of that. Thanks for continuing the story with me!
Jack's breaths came in sharp pants as Sam's words sank into his brain.
I need you. In bed. With me. Now.
Whatever threads of control remained snapped, his body moving to drag her back into his arms before his mind registered the action. Sam's squeak of surprise should have slowed him down, but it didn't. Nothing short of her demanding he stop could alter his intent. God himself—
"Jack?" Daniel called through the closed door. "You awake?"
"Son of a—" Jack buried his head into Sam's neck to smother his curse. His body shook from the effort of regaining the control that had just been obliterated.
Daniel called his name again as Jack heard the telltale jiggle of a doorknob being turned. In a move that he was positive could never be repeated successfully, Jack kept Sam plastered against him as he whirled around to twist the lock into place a millisecond before Daniel tried to push the door open.
"Come on, wake up, Jack!" Daniel ordered as he began to pound on the door.
"Think he'll just go away?" Jack whisper-groaned to Sam, who answered him with a disbelieving look. Her eyes mirrored his frustration, but also shone with humor at the sudden interruption. Her hair was rumpled from his hands and her lips were parted as she also worked to calm the heat raging between them.
"What, Daniel?" Jack called loudly, hoping the irritation in his tone would be apparent enough to send their friend packing.
"It's Sam," Daniel answered.
"What about her?" Jack asked, quirking an eyebrow at the woman in his arms.
"I can't find her," Daniel replied. "We usually play chess in the evenings, but she didn't show up after dinner. I've searched everywhere."
Sam rolled her eyes before letting her forehead fall onto Jack's shoulder. Her body began shaking as she smothered giggles against him.
"No giggling, Carter," Jack ordered, the lustful hunger in his tone snapping Sam's eyes to his. He watched as realization dawned about why he never allowed her to giggle. Licking her lips, she dipped her eyes to his groin briefly before raising them back to his gaze. The obvious longing on her face elicited a deep growl from him. I need you. In bed. With me. Now. Her words flittered through his mind again.
"I'm getting worried," Daniel's voice broke into their moment again.
"Have you checked her room?" Jack bit out unhelpfully in a strained tone.
"Of course," Daniel muttered.
"I'm sure she's fine," Jack said almost pleadingly, causing Sam to snicker at the obvious.
"What's going on? Open the door," Daniel jiggled the doorknob again.
"Hang on," Jack watched helplessly as Sam untangled herself from his arms and slipped into his bathroom. Once she was out of sight, he flipped the lock and stepped back as Daniel stumbled into the room.
"Took you long enough," Daniel grumbled, glancing around.
"I was busy," Jack countered.
"Doing what?"
"Making out with a hottie," Jack quipped, swearing he could hear Sam giggle from the bathroom.
"Yeah, right," Daniel rolled his eyes. "Come on, we need to find Sam. I'm getting worried."
"Carter can take care of herself," Jack grumbled, turning away from the man to discreetly adjust himself. The last think he needed now was Daniel realizing he sported a full tent in his pants.
"Why aren't you more worried?" Daniel cocked his head and Jack could see the gears turning in his friend's head. While Jack didn't really care if Daniel figured out Sam was in the bathroom, he didn't want to make a unilateral decision to tell him without her.
"You're right," Jack feigned being contrite. "I bet she's either back in her bedroom or the kitchen," he said loudly enough for Sam to hear. "We'll look in her bedroom first. Come on."
