A Few Days Earlier

Iris's POV

"Your dad is probably glad he's going on vacation for a few days" I told Matt.

A little awhile ago Cody and Izzy had been successful in finding Ken's base in the Digital World. So it was agreed the main group would stay in the Digital World until the conflict with the Digimon Emperor was solved. Tai, Izzy, and Matt would be going camping as a cover in case some of the parents got suspicious.

I was already packed and I watched Matt doing the same.

"He is, he's booked us a really nice cabin" my beloved stated. Through the mate bond I felt annoyance. I laughed when I found out what it was.

"We can watch the rest of the first Hunger Games movie when we come back" I teased my mate.

Matt stopped packing and looked to me.

"Hey sue me if I like the movie" he replied. "There's also another thing I'm annoyed about"

I shot the blonde a questioning look and I was rewarded with a smirk. The next thing I knew I was pinned against the wall and my legs were wrapped around Matt's waist. The blonde and I were sharing quite a kiss and it ended when both of us had to catch our breath.

"I don't like being away from you Iris" my mate told me. "Especially now since we're mate bound"

"Your starting to sound like a possessive male" I teased him.

Matt blushed before responding.

"It's the truth"

"I know babe"

After giving Matt a reassuring kiss did he set me back down onto my feet.

"I'll be careful, enjoy your camping trip and make sure to wear bug spray"

"I will being bitten by mosquitos stinks" my significant other agreed.

Present

Digital World

Iris's POV

"I'm surprised Davis didn't wake us up with his snoring" I told Issac as Wyvernmon took flight with me and my cousin on his back. Demi and Kiba perched themselves on my lap while I held onto Issac's waist.

Cody had sent me and Isaac an email saying they knew where the Digimon Emperor's base might be.

"Well our family tend to be heavy sleepers" my goofball brother joked.

I chuckled as the ocean below appeared. My D-3 pinged alerting that a new email. I opened it and read the contents.

"Cody found Ken's base and is gonna sneak inside" I informed.

"Yeah I remember it's underwater" Isaac answered.

Another email came through and this time it was from T.K.

"They found the whirlpool" I added.

"Yo I'm feeling uneasy" Demi interrupted. "Something with a large amount of evil is close by"

"Yeah that would be the whirlpool" I explained. "Ken intends to venture into it"

"Which Digimon is supposedly in that thing? I forgot" Issac inquired.

"Devimon" was my reply.

Devimon in my opinion was a boring villain in the anime.

"Pssh that digimon is pathetic" Kiba muttered.

I snorted at my partner's comment. Wvyernmon picked up his pace with his wings so we could fly faster. Eventually we caught up with Kari and Yolei along with their digimon.

"Incoming y'all!" Isaac shouted nodding ahead.

Ahead of us was Ken's base and I swore.

"I'd suggest you guys brace yourselves Ken is about to release his new pet"

"Yeah" Issac added.

No sooner had my cousin finished his sentence did something large come out of the base.

Both Isaac and I swore while Yolei wondered what was coming our way.

"Iris! Isaac what is that thing?!" Kari yelled.

"That's Kimeramon!" I shouted back. "An ultimate leveled digimon!"

"Iris I can digivolve to ultimate" Demi interrupted.

"Alright but be careful" I advised the rookie.

Demi nodded before taking flight and a short evolution later Kiba's brother was now Myotismon. When Kimeramon got close enough Demi unleashed his Grisly Wing. The many bats temporarily blinded Kimeramon and the ultimate shook it's head trying to rid the bats away from it.

Nefertimon, Halsemon, and Wvyernmon used their attacks but they had no effect on Kimeramon. The mixed digimon was quick to get behind us and it began to give chase. Yolei and Halsemon were hit first along with Kari and Nefertimon. Thankfully both of them didn't fall off of their partners.

Kimeramon tried to swipe at Wvyernmon but my cousin's partner maneuvered around from the many arms.

"Wvyernmon take Issac and Iris to safety Davis is below!" Demi shouted.

Sure enough Davis was on a movable piece of land and already on it were Kari and Yolei so Halsemon and Nefertimon could deal with Kimeramon. Wvyernmon did as Demi advised and he landed on the small isle and let us off before taking flight once more.

Both Nefertimon and Halsemon got captured in Kimeramon's grasp and Wvyernmon attacked using his Flames of Fate while Demi used his Crimson Lighting. Demi's red whip hit near Kimeramon's right eye causing the ultimate to get distracted. Wvyernmon's attack hit the arms holding Nefertimon and Halsemon and they loosened enough so the two digimon could fly away to safety.

"Demi come on Kimeramon stopped moving!" I shouted to the vampire.

Pegasusmon soon joined the other digimon and Demi joined them too as they made their getaway. Later we all were back on dry land and I checked the imprisoned digimon Cody freed to make sure they weren't injured. Most of them were fine but I did use my healing gift on some who needed it.

"We're going to need a strategy if we're going to take down Kimeramon" Davis said.

"I hope so that thing was ugly" Demi growled. Kiba's twin was back in his rookie form along with the other digimon. Only Gatomon and Wizardmon remained in their champion forms.

"Remember the golden radiance?" I began. "Well it won't be long until we find it"

"When is BlackWarGreymon supposed to appear anyway?" T.K. asked me.

"It's still awhile until he comes" I replied.

Dream

"I see you are dealing with a strong digimon" BlackWarGreymon greeted me as I came beside him.

The dream setting this time was on a beach. The mega was gazing at the water as was I.

"He'll be dealt with soon enough" I told my second partner. "It also won't be long until the golden radiance is found"

BlackWarGreymon sighed in relief at that.

"How are you coping?" I asked turning to him.

"I'm going crazy to be honest" he confessed. "When I'm alone the darkness is annoying but when your with me it's gone"

"I was once under darkness"

My second partner looked to me.

"How did you deal with it?" he wondered.

"I got rid of it with one hell of a fight and I know you will keep yours at bay too, also I snapped out of my darkness when someone I cared for got hurt"

"I'll be damned if you get hurt because of me" the mega growled.

I turned my body so I faced my partner.

"Here you are no threat"

"But I'll be a threat to you when I am born, it would be wise if you stayed away until I join you"

"Over my dead body"

I then placed a hand on top of his.

"You are my partner and I won't stand around to let you suffer alone, but I will promise you this should I feel you will possibly hurt me I'll keep my distance"

"Thank you" the mega replied.
