Ken's POV

The first thing I did when I got home was sleep for awhile. I was glad Wormmon was by my side while I had been recuperating or I would have lost my mind. A few days after I returned home did I have a special visitor.

A Few Days Earlier

"That was delicious Mom thank you"

I felt very guilty for making my parents worry. I had no intention of doing that again to them. Mom smiled before beginning to gather the dishes and there was a knock at the door.

"That's probably Sage" my father told me.

"Sage has been here?" I asked.

Sage Mellark was a friend of mine who I had known since childhood. However as we got older I began to develop feelings for her but never said anything because I was afraid of rejection. Then I became the Digimon Emperor and distanced myself from her.

"She's been here a lot she was very worried about you" my father continued.

I stood up and decided to go answer the door myself. A short walk later I opened the door and sure enough Sage was there. Her eyes widened and the next thing I knew she threw herself into my arms. She began to sob and I wrapped my arms around her apologizing profusely to her that I made her worry.

Present

Still Ken's POV

After I reunited with Sage did I finally have the courage to confess my feelings. Her feelings were mutual and I was even more surprised when she told me I was her mate. Yep Sage was a wolf shifter like Iris and Isaac only she was half human as well.

Her mother was a full blooded wolf shifter while her father was human. Sage was from America but her father's career as a Linguist had brought her to Japan. For the time being she and I would casually date until we were both old enough to claim the other.

"I better get going" Sage said getting up.

She stayed for dinner and it was getting late.

"Do you want me to walk you home?" I asked.

"She'll be fine with me nearby" a deep female voice replied.

A second later a yellow fox appeared beside Sage. The yellow fox was Renamon and she was Sage's partner making my girlfriend a Digi Destined like me and Wormmon. Wormmon blushed when he saw Renamon and I had a feeling my partner has a crush on the fox rookie.

I chuckled and Renamon disappeared as I walked Sage to the front door. Before leaving the she-wolf gave me a quick peck on the cheek which made me blush. Sometime in the middle of the night the light from my computer woke me up. I moaned and sat up and I saw a woman dressed in red standing at my computer. Wormmon woke up too and I demanded to know who the intruder was.

"Emperor are you having trouble sleeping? That's because your through"

"Who are you?" I demanded again.

"You were just so useless"

"What are you talking about?! And what do you think you know about me?!"

The woman this time turned to look at me.

"You had so much potential and yet you couldn't even eliminate the Digimon Princess"

Then the woman disappeared and my computer was off.

"Is she gone?" Wormmon questioned.

"I sure hope so"

Iris's POV

I ended up not going to the Digital World for two weeks. Healing Wormmon took a lot out of me and whenever Matt was home he catered to my every need like the sweet and loving mate he was. While I had been recovering Veemon managed to digivolve to ExVeemon which really made Davis happy.

Today I was back in the Digital World with the others helping rebuild Primrary Viilage. However I simply repainted some buildings alongside Kari and Yolei. By the end of day we got a decent amount of work done.

Upon arriving back in Japan we all went to have dinner before parting ways.

"Ow"I growled as I closed the apartment door behind me.

"You okay?" Kiba asked. Demi looked concerned too.

"I'm fine just sore from painting" I reassured the Demidevimon twins.

I heard Matt playing his guitar and I found my mate at the dining room table.

"Band practice go okay?"

"Yeah I'm just trying something with the guitar" the blonde explained.

He then played a familiar melody which was the whistling tune from the Hunger Games. While I was recovering my boyfriend and I finished the first movie along with Catching Fire.

"So the rebuilding is going smoothly?"

He put the guitar down while asking his question.

"So far and yes mate I'm not over doing anything"

My significant other chuckled before standing up and he walked over to me. He kissed my forehead before suggesting we watch Mockingjay Part 1. I smirked at his suggestion and after he put his guitar away did we watch said movie.

Next Day

Iris's POV

Some Punimon greeted us when we returned to Primary Village to do some more work. The nursery school was just finished being repaired yesterday so hence why the Punimon were here. For some reason Veemon couldn't digivolve to his champion state.

The other digimon couldn't do the same and I looked to the Control Spires in the distance. By now Arukenimon would be on the move and it was only a matter of time when she created BlackWarGreymon. Kiba armor digivolved to QueenXenomorphmon and it wasn't long until I was painting some more buildings. Isaac and Wvyernmon decided to stick with me in case I overworked myself.

Davis and Veemon were playing soccer with the Punimon which was pretty cute. Things were going well until an explosion nearby got our attention.

"What the heck?" Demi said.

A second later Ankylomon appeared and he placed Cody down for a second before Cody was suddenly sucked into the air.

"Holy crap!" Issac exclaimed when a Stingmon caught Cody. My eyes then went wide as a second digimon appeared next to Stingmon.

"Uh is that a Kyubimon?" my cousin questioned.

"Yep sure is" I confirmed.

The Kyubimon sniffed Cody before saying something to Stingmon.

Suddenly a Thundermon charged at Stingmon and the insect champion was quick to return Cody to Ankylomon. Stingmon gave chase and the Thundermon followed. The others went to make sure Cody was okay which he was thank god.

Kyubimon suddenly caught Thundermon before using its many tails to smack the annoying digimon away. Stingmon then used his Striking Strike and Thundermon got destroyed. Two figures appeared on a roof nearby. One was Ken and the other was a girl about his age. She had amber colored hair and sage green colored eyes. Both Stingmon and Kyubimon joined them and they glowed gold.

"That girl is a wolf shifter like us" I informed Isaac who widened his eyes.

A Renamon appeared next to the wolf shifter and Wormmon appeared in Ken's arms. Then both he and the wolf shifter jumped off the roof and the Renamon followed. A bunch of questions filled my mind at what I just saw.

Back in Real World

"So Ken emailed you wanting to talk?" Matt asked.

He and I were waiting in a park by the apartment. My mate decided to come with me in case something wrong happened.

"Yes" was my reply.

Demi and Kiba were hiding out nearby.

"Iris!"

Sure enough Ken kept his word and with him was the same wold shifter from earlier.

"You look good Ken" I greeted the genius as Matt and I stopped in front of him. "How have you been?"

"I'm taking it one day at a time" Ken responded. "I can't thank you enough for saving Wormmon"

As soon as his name was mentioned did Renamon appear with Wormmon in its arms. The fox rookie came to me and handed Wormmon over.

"I'm so glad your doing better Wormmon"

"It was all thanks to you Iris" the green rookie said.

I hugged him before giving Wormmon back to Ken.

Ken then turned to the wolf shifter.

"This is Sage as you can probably tell she is a Digi Destined too as well as a wolf shifter, Renamon is her partner"

"It's nice to meet you" Sage spoke. "And I'm half wolf shifter"

Ken blushed when Sage corrected him. Renamon got onto one knee and bowed before me.

"I am honored to be in your presence princess"

The voice that came out of this Renamon was Colleen Clinkenbeard's.

"Hold up are you two mates?" Matt suddenly inquired.

"Matt!" I reprimanded my mate.

Sage snorted while Ken chuckled.

"Actually we are a mated pair but for now we're just dating" Sage confirmed Matt's question. "I've known Ken since we were kids"

"Your lucky Ken having a wolf shifter as your significant other is precious and she'll protect you"

"Yes I've been told now I understand what you and Matt have"

Matt shot me a smirk while I rolled my eyes.

"I do intend to join your group later but for right now I need to be on my own, I hope you understand" Ken explained. "Sage will be with me too"

"That's fine" I reassured him. "Feel free to email me anytime if you want to talk"

"Thank you Iris"

Ken then offered his hand out and I didn't hesitate to place mine in it and we shook hands.
