I finally got a beta for this story!
Vegeta stood on the balcony of his bed-chamber, looking out over his world. He had searched the universe for seventeen years without a clue or even a hint of the whereabouts of Bulma's reincarnation. The dreams began to increase but now he was no longer a spectator in the dreams, he was dreaming as if he were the girl. As she aged, he could feel the constant fear she had over her body. It was agonizing to be tortured with her despondency, each time Vegeta closed his eyes. The less Vegeta slept the more trying it became to keep his true reasons for the search from Whis.
Lost in his trepidation overlaying his head upon his pillow, Vegeta didn't sense the Ki of the man stepping up to the sheer red curtains. The figure moved past the doorway and stopped to step back and turn to face the God of Destruction's back. His boots tapped against the stone floor as the broad-shouldered figure stepped up to the crimson fabric and pulled it aside to look upon the man-turned-god.
"Father?"
Vegeta spun around to see the grown man with lavender locks walking through the following curtains that hung at the opening to his room. "Trunks?"
"Bring Hit to me," Vegeta growled and turned away from the view.
"Hit? My Lord?" the celestial wasn't sure what Vegeta could possibly want with that deceitful bounty hunter.
"Are you questioning my order, Whis?" Vegeta asked with a deadly sneer.
"N-no, my lord," Whis bowed in deference. "Forgive me, I was merely surprised you would ask for him." Shocked beyond belief to be more accurate. "I will retrieve him right away."
"Tch," Vegeta scoffed as Whis disappeared, looking back out to the view he searched the stars for a sign. "I'll find you, wait for me, I am coming..." Not willing to say the name allowed, he thought it, sending it out to the one that it belonged to, 'Kakumei… Mkami… Engishade naye, ongunaphakade…'
Taking a minute to send out his intention into the ether of the multiverse, Vegeta rushed to the large, and largely empty armoire, along the wall opposite the open doorway to his private balcony. Inside he moved the copies of his stupid costume out of the way with a harsh shove. Along the back wall of the cabinet big enough to hide three of him inside, was a holoscreen. Touching the only button on it with a trembling finger and bated breath, the Saiyan Destroyer entered the name of the Time Patrol Officer he needed to speak to.
Sergeant Trunks V. Briefs
In his mind, he called out to the half-Saiyan with both his first and middle names. Letting his progeny know how serious he was. 'Trunks Vegeta Briefs, answer my call.'
The wait was agonizing, yet lasted less than ten minutes. Vegeta almost called to his son mentally again when the screen cut to static then black. He could hear voices on the other side, muffled behind a door or a hand against the speaker. Glaring to focus on the monitor, Vegeta lurched back when dim light revealed a broad-shouldered figure sitting directly in front of the camera.
"Father? Father, is that you?" Mirai Trunks asked from his darkened position, his voice breaking and cracking with the static that affected the image.
"Yes, son, it's me. I can hardly see you." Vegeta said, nervous he wasn't truly speaking to his son.
Trunks leaned forward allowing his face to be shown in the low light of his private quarters he shared with Mai. The screen glitched, causing streaks of rainbows and monochromatic stripes to interrupt the image momentarily. "I have to keep this fast, and quiet . I'm sorry, you were very urgent. I didn't have time to leave the house. Mai and our baby, Vegeta the fifth , are sleeping."
"Y-you have a s-son?" Vegeta asked and saw the tender look take over his son's alternate version. "M-may I see him?"
Trunks smiled tiredly but still lifted the camera and took it out into the hall and opened the door to his and his wife's room. The two slumbering beings were on the far side of the room, Mai on the bed and the tiny infant in a bassinet beside his sleeping mother. Vegeta found himself holding his breath once again as he saw the tiny version of himself sleeping soundly. Trunks allowed the image to linger as he too watched his family sleep peacefully, every few seconds to a minute more static affected the sound and image, disrupting Vegeta's view.
After a few minutes, the other Trunks returned to his office.
"He is a fine Saiyan, son." Vegeta said, his urgency forgotten after being faced with his infant grandson.
"He looks just like you." Trunks beamed, every bit the proud father. "Now what did you call about?" He asked, leaning back into his seat, and the darker shadows of the room.
"I need your help." Vegeta said without hesitation.
Trunks watched the lines deepen on his father's face. "How do I know you are the same Vegeta I fought beside?" Trunks asked, the deeper tone and gravel in his voice accentuated by the newest round of distortion and lag.
"I encouraged you to pursue your desires with Mai. After you used that senzu bean to revive her, I could instantly tell she was your mate. I even told you to "stop pussy-footing around claiming her. Earth women are not patient creatures, and they do not understand their instincts, they don't speak to them the same as they do to we Saiyans." I am glad to see you were able to eventually take my advice." Vegeta said with a sly smirk across his lips.
"All right, Father." Trunks smiled, the light glinting off his pearly whites.
Vegeta spilled his guts about the dream, or vision, or whatever it was. Divulging every detail he could recall. Trunks sat and listened intently, making sure he picked up every word and even all the subterfuge of the things his father wasn't saying. The screen crackled with static and at several moments the image lagged.
"I don't know, this seems risky, even for me. You're a god, can't you just, ya know, do some god stuff?" The male voice crackled over the large monitor, the broad-shouldered figure sat in the shadows on the other end, the amount of time and space between them causing the static and lag.
"Please," Vegeta dropped to his knees in front of the monitor that hid inside his armoire. "I am begging you to help me, I can't trust anyone else with this information. It's only you that I can ask this of." He had promised himself many years ago to let this individual live in peace but he needed help, and didn't know where else to turn to for this particular request.
"Wow, I never thought I would see you, of all people, beg." The darkened figure sat back in his seat as he watched the God of Destruction beg.
"I will as many times as I need to," Vegeta bowed his head and clasped his hands together over his head to plead with his body as well as his words. "I need your help, only you have the abilities to assist me."
"You know I am in a lot of trouble already, this could-"
"It could alter the fate of the entire Omniverse." Vegeta spoke in earnest, he needed help if he was ever going to find Bulma's reincarnation.
"Why can't you trust Whis?" The man asked, concerned this could get them all erased.
"I have already told you, he could turn around and tell his father, who would, in turn, tell Grand Zeno, and then I will be obliterated along with her, again ." Vegeta deepened his bow in hopes of swaying the man to do his bidding. "I can't have that happen."
There was a pause, static cracked and the image wavered. Vegeta pressed his forehead to the floor and waved his joined hands over his head, as high as he could reach in his current position. Then came a loud sigh of resignation, "Alright. I will look into it."
"Thank you!" Vegeta snapped his head up but stayed on his knees. "I cannot tell you what this means. Truly I am indebted to you-"
"That is enough groveling, yeesh, it's making me uncomfortable. I will come to you when I find something. I can't disrupt the flow for this or we could be discovered."
"Please hurry."
"I will." There was another long silence before the shadowed figure spoke again. "It is good to see you again."
"And you, thank you, truly. I-"
"Don't mention it. Seriously. Don't ever mention this. Well, at least not until you change fate." Vegeta could make out the flash of teeth when the man smiled. It was ironic for them, this situation.
Vegeta nodded and the screen cut out. Heaving a great sigh the god began to pace about his room. He tried to wear a groove in his floor while he waited for Whis to return. He had contemplated telling him to find Hit himself, but didn't want to make this any more bizarre than it already was. Requesting the presence of the cloned assassin from the neighboring universe was odd enough, especially after millennia of...nothing. Vegeta couldn't bring himself to tell anyone what he was seeking. Anyone that might speak of it anyway.
"Son..." Vegeta took a moment to take in the image of the man he had never helped raise, in the future timeline he had come from. Still, there was a bond between them, one forged through combat during the Cell games. Vegeta couldn't keep the emotion from his voice now that he was faced with the man his son had become.
"I-I found her, at least I think I did." Trunks admitted stopping in front of the alternate version of his father.
"How are you? Do they treat you well? Do they feed you enough? How is your mother? Mai? The baby?" Vegeta asked all the questions that had burned in the back of his mind since they had spoken nearly eighteen years ago.
Trunks laughed at the bombardment of questions his father launched at him. "Everyone is settling in fine, we are all treated with great respect and we get all the food we could possibly eat. How long has it been?" Trunks asked as the image of the world behind his father captured his attention. The constant worry lines etched across his forehead relaxed momentarily at the sight of the planet.
Vegeta watched the Time Patrol Officer as his face relaxed and he could see the young man, and the boy that had been his first creation, something better than himself. "This is Vegetasei, son. Or at least, a scaled-down version of it, from before Saiyans polluted the skies and oceans for the Cold Empire."
"It's beautiful, I think I used to dream about this place as a child." Trunks said in awe of his surroundings.
Vegeta's eyes burned from the emotions he felt, his Trunks had dreamed of this planet as well, all throughout his childhood. "Since I asked for your assistance... It has been over seventeen years. I am nearly out of time. If I haven't already missed my chance." The Saiyan answered, needing a change of subject before he started to cry from pride and loneliness.
"Seventeen years huh? Well the good news is, I'm not too late. I was not able to find much, these Omni Celestials really don't want her found, or anyone to know about her life." Trunks leaned his elbows onto the railing and watched the animals of this planet move between trees.
"I have seen it for myself. Gods aren't supposed to dream, but her life has haunted my dreams these past years." Vegeta replied and leaned his hip against the railing to watch his son. Just getting to see a familiar face filled him with hope and an overwhelming nostalgia he simply could not be bitter about.
"Do you know what she is? Or how she came to be in this timeline?" Future Trunks asked, turning his face towards Vegeta, his brows knitted together again, over his worry-filled blue eyes. Vegeta shook his head in the negative, uncertain what Trunks was trying to say, or why half of it was even important, but he could sense his son's unease.
"Father, mother was reincarnated into the embryo of a full-blooded Saiyan. A Saiyan that fled Sadala." Trunks stood to face his father when the other Saiyan pushed off the railing and stepped forward. "The one from this timeline." Trunks added cautiously.
"How can that be? Sadala was destroyed millions of years ago." Vegeta couldn't believe what he was hearing. What power did the goddesses possess to be capable of such feats?
"Yes, she is a Saiyan, an ancient one. One that time holds no linear record of. I don't even know who her father might have been."
"What does this mean boy?" Vegeta asked as his anxious feelings swelled and made him revert back to his irritable mannerisms.
"It's rather complicated but I will do my best to explain . " Trunks couldn't hide the smirk, the nickname, and witnessing his father's growing anxiety and fraying nerves. "One of the transport ships that fled Sadala, somehow, got lost between time and space. I believe it was sucked into a wormhole of some kind. Thirty years ago it reemerged and drifted through space, the passengers still held in stasis. Over the next twelve years, it was damaged by asteroids before scavenger mercenaries came across it in the Eastern Quadrant. They took the surviving passengers to a planet called Sallick, on the outskirts of the Kazwark system. That is where her mother, still pregnant with her, was sold into slavery as well as eight others. I don't understand how they can keep Saiyans in slavery, wouldn't they just break out or fight to the death?" Trunks pondered.
"There is a device they are using to hinder their abilities." The destroyer clarified.
"That is barbaric." Trunks sneered. "How do you know this?"
"I saw it in my dreams, when they put one in her. " Vegeta let out a low growl remembering the nightmare-ish visions plaguing his slumber. "Are you telling me there are other Saiyans out there in the universe because of this lost transport?" Vegeta asked.
"There were nine survivors in total but after they were sold off that planet, the record of these Saiyans lost to time, it just vanishes. I was only able to dig up bits and pieces but never her exact location. I'm sorry I couldn't find out more, but her existence seems to be hidden by something even greater than the Kai of Time herself." Trunks was frustrated he couldn't find out more and worried he might disappoint the father he had first bonded with all those years ago.
"I expected that much, and glad you could find something to help me locate her. Fear not, son, I will save her, this reincarnation of your mother." Vegeta said placing his hand on Trunks' shoulder and squeezing to reassure the man he had done well and that Vegeta was grateful for any information he could get.
"I know you will father, I am only glad I am not too late." Trunks said, placing his hand on Vegeta's forearm.
"As am I. Thank you for coming here to deliver this news. I would ask you to stay for lunch but I must leave at once. Traveling back and forth between the Kazwark system every four days could take me months to find the right planet and she is running out of time." Vegeta pulled Trunks into a hug, surprising the younger man momentarily until he wrapped his arms around his father.
"You filthy, lying, monkey !" Whis seethed in the doorway. Both of the Saiyans jumped apart caught in their plotting. "This entire time, all the work we were doing was to find some girl lost to time? One that happens to be a reincarnation of Bulma? Tell me my Lord what comes next? Are you going to save her now?" The Celestial had whips of energy steaming off of him in angry tendrils. He had entered Vegeta's bed-chamber halfway through Trunks' explanation. Listening to the rest of the conversation, he picked out the context he needed before bursting through the curtains to confront Vegeta.
"Whis, I-" Vegeta started, trying to explain the situation.
"Silence, I do not want your excuses." He boomed, infuriated.
"Whis please, let him explain." Trunks tried to plead with the Celestial but flinched when those angry lavender eyes fell on him.
"Shut it junior." Whis spat the words out with all the venom he could muster from the overwhelming sense of betrayal he felt.
"Don't you dare speak to my son that way." Vegeta growled, stepping between the fury of his attendant and his son.
"That's rich, coming from you ." Whis glared daggers at Vegeta.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Both men asked at the same time.
"You've been lying to me for the past twenty years!" Whis yelled, his pain at being betrayed showing through the anger he felt.
"I had to!" Vegeta cried, throwing his arms in the air.
"I fail to see why, or why Bulma's reincarnation even needs saving." Whis was torn between wanting to hear what Vegeta had to say, and telling the monkey off before storming away to sulk, leaving Vegeta to clean up his own mess.
"Because if I don't, she'll suffer a fate worse than death!" Vegeta yelled again, hoping Whis would stop accusing him of betrayal and listen to him for once.
"And you thought I wouldn't assist you in this my Lord?" Whis asked, hesitant of any answer he might get. He internally debated which would be worse. That Vegeta was far more closed off from him than he thought, to not share this information with him. Or that his Lord never trusted him to begin with. But then, why tell Hit? Yes, Vegeta held no trust for him whatsoever, and trusted Hit more. Both options knives in his heart.
Vegeta suddenly felt guilty and chastised by the tall celestial that had hurt rolling off of him in waves as his power thundered around them. The former Prince responded with two small nods of his head.
"I am wounded that you think after all this time, everything, before you became this and after, that I wouldn't know when you were hiding something from me? You think I would run to Grand Minister like a tattletail?" Vegeta frowned at the word that felt like a slur about his heritage. "No, I will not take back my insults! I'll do you one even better! You are a stupid, selfish, lying monkey!"
"How was I to be sure you wouldn't go running to daddy?" Vegeta yelled, Trunks tried to recede into the railing, this argument was taking a very personal turn, both men behaving rather petty and making him feel embarrassed for them. "She-"
"Did you really think me so cruel?" Whis asked, the hurt he felt finally showed on his features as his scowl became a frown.
"I couldn't trust anyone!" Vegeta reiterated.
"Yet you entrusted the task to Hit? And you involved your son? Is he not in enough trouble already?" Whis said, throwing his hand toward the man standing off to the side as far away as he could get with Whis and Vegeta blocking the door.
"Hey, I have kept my hands clean of any violations." Trunks' words fell on dead ears as the two men didn't even spare him a glance.
"Hit has next to zero information, and I needed a backup plan. That is all Hit ever was. As for involving Trunks, he was the only one that could help me while we searched for her." Vegeta thought of telling Whis about Dende and the Goddesses, but he needed the man to calm down and wasn't sure what to say, or do, to achieve that.
"I fail to see how Hit was a back-up, or how you could trust him to locate Bulma's reincarnation?" Everything Vegeta said was only making his feelings of betrayal stronger, the wound deeper. "You act as though I cared nothing for her, that I-"
"She meant more to me than life itself, don't ever compare your loss of a mortal friend to the loss of my MATE!" Vegeta roared, his aura growing and lashing violently with the suffering of a million years of loneliness.
Trunks brought a hand up to cover his heart at his father's declaration of devotion to his mother.
"Forgive me, my lord-" Whis said, finally calmer, now that he was faced with the rage of Vegeta's pain.
"Cut that shit out, Whis. It's driving me insane." Vegeta snapped, interrupting Whis's apology.
"Vegeta, I would never presume, or even begin, to comprehend how you have felt for the last million years. But know this; Bulma was the only mortal ever to befriend me. I knew she did so initially out of fear, but over time we did develop a friendship and I mourned her passing." Whis said, stepping forward and bowing slightly to his friend and lord. "When the Omni King refused to allow her to be reborn, I knew it would leave you devastated, as it did. I have watched your spirit wither, unable to help or do anything to ease that suffering." His voice pleading for Vegeta to understand that he has suffered through this age with him, that as his attendant, Whis was with him, every step of the way. "Vegeta, you will always be in your prime, but with nothing left to live for, you were deteriorating. Now, care to explain how you have come to know that she has been reincarnated?" Whis asked, confused as to how Vegeta came about this information.
"Grand Zeno erased her soul." Vegeta admitted, calmer now that he realized he still treated himself as an island, a man apart and alone from the rest of existence, but he wasn't alone, he had Whis. Just as Dende had said, eventually he wouldn't be able to stop Whis from finding out the truth one day. Vegeta reminded himself that the old Namekian also said Whis would never betray him, now was the time to place his faith in Whis, as his friend and confidant.
"Wha- but he said- Why would he lie to you, my lord?" Whis couldn't believe his father and the Omni king had plotted in such a way against a god they had manipulated into his current position.
"What do you know about the Omni Celestials?" Vegeta asked, starting at the beginning would be the only way to garner Whis's trust once more.
Whis paled and stepped back. "How did you learn about her and you are still avoiding my earlier question?"
"I met her, well three of them… I think…" Vegeta said looking at his son, the man already knew the story.
Trunks gave a small nod, that this was the right thing to do. That his father should trust Whis.
"Vegeta, she is my mother, the mother of the entire omniverse. The embodiment of the Sacred Trinity, the only being capable of creating celestials, and universes. She wields an ultimate power to erase all of existence and rebuild it how she sees fit. She also has an irritating way of constantly talking in the third person or calling herself we, which isn't entirely inaccurate since she consists of the three sacred feminine. How did you-the dream you had?" Whis asked, lunging toward Vegeta and gripping him by the shoulders.
"Yes, she appeared in my dream seventeen years ago, and she informed me what Grand Zeno did. He thought I would never know, and once I found out I would be dead and it wouldn't matter anymore anyway. At least, not to him it wouldn't." Vegeta said bitterly. "She told me she had salvaged Bulma's soul and placed it in an unborn child and that I had twenty years to find her or something would happen to her and I wouldn't be able to have her. Then when she dies she would be reborn among the omniverse and it would start all over but instead of one universe, I would have to search twelve. When I woke up and one hundred years had passed, I thought maybe I had missed my opportunity and so I sent Hit to search the other eleven and left universe seven to be searched personally. It's been seventeen years and he has only made it through two, and we have barely searched half of ours and now thanks to Trunks we have a system to start with. I…" Vegeta hesitated and looked away from both of the men with him, shame pouring off of him as his cheeks pinkened in the embarrassment. "I... am afraid of missing this opportunity…" The proud Saiyan admitted.
Trunks and Whis exchanged looks of their mutual concern for him.
"My lord." Whis said hoping Vegeta would accept his help and let his son return to his post so the man wasn't scolded more for the role he already played in this fiasco.
"I said to stop doing that so much." Vegeta snapped, his eyes burning with his emotions and frustration.
"Old habits, my lord, Vegeta." Whis amended.
"Tch." Vegeta scoffed at the Celestial that at times seemed to only get off on tormenting him.
"What clues did she give you?" Whis asked.
"Clues?" Vegeta said, looking between Whis and Trunks, wondering if his son had picked up on any hints in his explanation when the dream was still fresh in his mind. "I don't know if she left any clues."
"Well, if we are to find Bulma in time we will need all the information we can get." Whis said, smiling at Trunks, when the half Saiyan gave him a look full of gratitude for his willingness to assist his father.
" We?" Vegeta asked, surprised at Whis's easy forgiveness and understanding.
"Of course. I would not be very good at my job if I didn't help you find the thing you are looking for. No matter what it is. Also, I wouldn't be much of a friend if I didn't help you two find each other again." Whis added with an empathetic smile, tears beginning to fill his eyes.
"Tch, do not get emotional on me." Vegeta sneered and stepped back from his attendant.
"Of course." The Celestial said, wiping away the evidence of his emotions he closed the space between him and Vegeta. "Do you mind? If I can see the dream in your memory myself, I may be able to find a clue as to where she is." Whis said, raising his hands to the outside of the Saiyan's temples.
Vegeta nodded once and Whis placed his two fingers from each hand to his lord's temples. Snatching them away quickly, Vegeta held the other man's hands away from his flesh.
"My lord?" Whis queried the reason he was being restrained.
"She speaks my true name, Whis, at the very end." Vegeta cautioned.
"I will be sure to pull away before I hear it, Vegeta." Whis knew the power of a soul's true name, it could be used to control Vegeta and siphon his power. This information concerned him. Why was the Goddess utilizing something with such power? Using it practically forced Vegeta into this situation, his lord couldn't stop looking even if it killed him.
Again Vegeta nodded and allowed Whis to view the dream. Barely two seconds passed when the celestial pulled away and looked at Vegeta with a sense of awe, but also dread for him. Vegeta felt decidedly uneasy with the look Whis was giving him and the fact that he wasn't saying anything yet. Was this gift more of a curse? Vegeta had learned in his life that everything had a cost and with the unbridled fear he saw in his attendant's purple orbs, he knew the price of this gift was high. He couldn't stand the silence any longer.
"Well? Out with it!" the Destroyer barked.
"The farthest reaches," Whis said, still not able to comprehend why these Celestials would inform Vegeta they were seeking a new Omni King. What destiny could they possibly have in store for this Saiyan Prince-turned-god? "That was the only clue she gave of her whereabouts." Whis said, finally looking away from the cold eyes of the hardened warrior.
"Well that's kind of obvious, but what do you mean by that's the only one regarding her whereabouts? What other hints might there be?" Vegeta asked, watching every tiny detail of the Celestial's expression. There was something Whis wanted to tell him, but Vegeta needed the information first.
"It means she is on a planet in the outer rim, likely on the outskirts of the Galaxy the Kazwark system is within but I don't know for certain." Whis said, trying to muster the courage to warn Vegeta of the fate that would befall him if they were to fail. "This is rather odd, they were very generous with other hints but not how to find her. It's as if they wished for you to fail in locating her." Whis contemplated the plethora of other hints his mother had given Vegeta, his lord would not be happy with this information.
"Hmm," the Saiyan hummed in annoyance. "Typical," Vegeta spat out the word and crossed his arms over his chest, finally dropping his gaze away from Whis as he looked out towards the stars.
"My lord..." Whis said but hesitated.
"We don't have time Whis, we need to leave now." Vegeta instructed as he tried to shift into action, they had been standing around for far too long. He needed to act.
"If we fail." Again he hesitated. How was he supposed to tell the man he respected and the god he had called friend long before he became what he now was, that if they failed to be there when the light of dawn hit this person in three short years, the chances of finding her were so minuscule, it would likely take them over a trillion years to locate one soul in the vast omniverse.
"We cannot fail." Vegeta said vehemently and turned to go back inside. "All I must do is find her, the rest will be simple.
"But you don't understand." Whis implored, following after Vegeta as he marched back toward the door.
Vegeta stopped in his tracks, his arms trembling as he balled his fists at his sides.
"You don't understand what they do. They are likely toying with you, that is why they were sparse with the clues." Whis was almost begging for Vegeta to understand that they were toying with him for their own amusement.
Vegeta turned only his head to look at Whis over his shoulder and pin him with a deadly glare. "I understand perfectly, Whis. It doesn't matter the price. In the end, I will find her." Proceeding to go inside he froze with Whis's next words.
"You can't use her name!" Whis shouted to get Vegeta to stop and listen to him for once.
"What?" The Saiyan hissed as he stared at the ground.
"The name of her soul, you know it don't you?"
"Yes, but if I can't use it, how am I to…?" Vegeta didn't finish the sentence. He intended to use her true name to awaken her soul and be with her again. All he wanted was to hold his Bulma in his arms once again, and never let go.
"You cannot use it again, if you do, you will awaken her past lives, and the Omni King will find her. If that happens, you both will be erased if not the entire universe." Whis said with a melancholic tone as he came to stand at Vegeta's side. "Not until Grand Zeno is replaced by a new Omni King will you be able to speak it." He saw the tension and frustration on Vegeta's face and resting his hand on his lord's shoulder added. "However, you must secure her heart by first light on her twentieth year. I fear they mean you must make her your mate. In order for you to do that you must speak that name, correct?" This was all highly unusual, was his mother truly toying with Vegeta or was she grooming a new ruler of the Omniverse? Whis could not be sure, the only thing he could do was feed these two Saiyans and set out in search of this person. "We should eat before we depart. Trunks you are staying for lunch, Vegeta I will not hear your argument nor shall I travel with you on an empty stomach."
"Yes sir." Trunks agreed, the officer even went as far as saluting.
Vegeta turned to look at the man, with Trunks giving the salute in perfect posture, he instantly saw his son, the one he had raised alongside his Bulma. The void he had been feeling within him grew. Everything hurt, his insides felt like they were being twisted and stabbed to the point his muscles twitched. Why could nothing in this life be simple for once? Would he always be tested at every turn?
Vegeta let the two walk past him and into the interior of the castle. With everything she had been going through, if he wasn't allowed to awaken her, how was he going to get her back? How was he going to get her to trust him? Looking up to the sky and the ever-present moon that hung there, Vegeta sent out another call to his soul's mate. … Kakumei… Mkami… Engishade naye, ongunaphakade…
