Breen's POV

After the Titanic left Southampton Port the ship made a few stops before eventually going into the open North Atlantic the next afternoon. My second day on this beautiful ship I joined a group of other First Class passengers for a tour.

Some of our many stops were the Grand Staircase, the Captain's Bridge, the gym, and many other rooms.

For the moment I was enjoying the beautiful weather on one of the many decks outside. Charlotte was back in her room relaxing and I didn't need her for the moment. I watched the other passengers around me in interest. Some were from Second Class and others were Third Class passengers.

"Excuse me?"

I jumped in fright and turned around to see who had addressed me. Before me was a middle aged man with short silver hair dressed in normal First Class attire.

"My apologies miss I didn't mean to frighten you" the man apologized.

"Yes sir how may I help you?" I asked.

Sometimes potential customers would approach me if they were interested in my work.

"Are you by any chance Breen Connors? Another passenger seemed to recognize you"

I smiled glad someone took notice of my hard work.

"Yes I am Breen Connors, is this passenger your wife?"

The man chuckled before shaking her head.

"No she's about to have lunch with my employer and his family, her name is Molly Brown"

Not wanting to miss a business opportunity I followed the gentleman into the dining area where lunch was served for the First Class Passenger's. The man introduced himself as Lovejoy and soon I had the pleasure of meeting my new customer. I took an immediate liking to Molly Brown because of her fiery personality. She was definitely interested in ordering a few dresses and after lunch we would go back to my rooms to discuss designs.

"Breen Connors is that you?"

I looked to see who had spoken my name and my eyes widened. The last time I had seen Caledon Hockley was twelve years ago. He had been the first man I loved and unfortunately we could not continue our relationship due to certain circumstances. Cal still looked handsome but I pushed those thoughts aside because I had heard he was engaged to be married. I didn't expect for Cal to be on the Titanic.

"You two know each other?" Molly wondered.

"Yes we were friends but lost touch" I stated getting to my feet. "Cal it's good to see you again"

The black haired man smiled before responding.

"As its good to see you congratulations on your career"

I did my best not to blush from his compliment.

"I also believe a congratulations is in order for you as well, I hear your engaged"

"I am my fiancée actually has a few dresses of yours"

Cal then called over a woman with red hair. She looked to be at least seventeen or eighteen years old. She was a beautiful young lady and Cal was lucky.

"Sweat pea this is Breen Connors, Breen this is my fiancée Rose"

At hearing my name Rose immediately was caught off guard.

"Are you really Ms. Connors?" I heard excitement in her tone.

"Yes ma'am" I replied.

"I love your work" she said. "It's a pleasure to meet you"

Another red headed woman joined us and I was introduced to Rose's mother. Usually I tried not to judge people on appearance but I did not like this woman. She had that typical snobby rich attitude I despised.

"Breen would you like to join us for lunch?" Cal suddenly wondered. "I assume you haven't eaten yet"

I shook my head and since he invited me I politely accepted. I took a seat next to Molly and Bruce Ismay. He was the chairman and the director of the White Star Line which was the company that made the Titanic. Rose of course sat next to her fiancé and mother. Mr. Ismay was currently discussing about the Titanic.

"She is the largest moving object ever made by the hand of man in all history" Mr. Ismay bragged. "And our master ship builder Mr. Andrews here designed here from the keel plates up"

The ship's carpenter Thomas Andrews was also eating with us.

"Well I may have knocked her together but the idea was Mr. Ismay's" Mr. Andrews began. "He envisioned a steamer so grand, scale, and luxurious, that a supremacy would never be challenged and her she is"

Mr. Andrews tapped the table.

"Willed into solid reality"

"My brother and I were awestruck when we first say her Mr. Andrews, she's beautiful" I complimented the ship's builder.

"Thank you Breen I'm glad you are enjoying yourself" Mr. Andrews answered.

Rose looked bored and she placed a cigarette into her mouth. She lit it and took a puff. Her mother said something to her but Rose looked at her mother as though she wished to argue. Cal then took the cigarette from his fiancée and put it out. The waiter took my order along with the others. Molly made a comment to Cal which I think he didn't find funny. Molly then wondered who came up with the idea of naming the ship. Ismay answered that question before I decided to ask one myself.

"Was the ship's name also inspired by the titans in Greek mythology?"

"Yes as a matter of fact" Mr. Ismay responded looking pleased.

Cal was also looking at me and he wore a genuine smile which made me blush. Rose then asked a question to Mr. Ismay which made Mr. Andrews chuckle and I had to hold back my own laughter. Ruth reprimanded her daughter and Rose stood up excusing herself.

Ruth apologized for her daughter's behavior to Mr. Ismay. Cal looked like he would follow his fiancée but probably decided it was better off to let her calm down. However I knew that Rose was definitely not happy on her engagement to Cal.
