Breen's POV

By now everyone in First Class were out of their cabins. A steward had instructed me to dress warmly and put a life jacket on. Afterwards I made sure Charlotte was dressed warmly and had a life jacket on her too.

Just as I was about to leave my cabin did Cal come in with Rose.

"What's going on?" I asked seeing Cal and Rose looking worried.

"The ship hit an iceberg" Rose began. "I saw it myself and overheard the mailroom was under water, it's possible the ship might be sinking"

My eyes widened at this revelation.

"We're trying to find Mr. Andrews who can confirm this" Cal added. "But afterwards we must go to the main deck"

I nodded understanding the severity of this situation so after I checked that I had everything I needed did I leave the cabin with Rose, Cal, and Charlotte. The grand staircase was full of people who had no clue what was going on.

I spotted Mr. Andrews first and he looked pale. Rose also noticed him and she quickly went over to the carpenter.

"Mr. Andrews?"

Mr. Andrews turned around at her voice.

"I saw the iceberg and I see it in your eyes please tell us the truth" she stated.

The carpenter sighed before saying.

"The ship will sink"

"I knew it" Cal said.

I felt my own face pale at this revelation.

"For certain?"

"Yes in an hour or so all of this will be at the bottom of the Atlantic" Mr. Andrews confirmed. Rose was now placing a hand to her lips in shock. "Please tell only who you must I don't want to be responsible for a panic, and get to boat don't wait, you remember what I told you about the boats"

"Yes, yes I understand"

Mr. Andrews looked to me and Cal. I gave the carpenter a nod as did Cal before he left.

"Oh bloody hell" I swore.

Cal left to go back to his cabin to get a few things.

"Rose?"

The red head turned to me.

"Just in case if we don't survive this I wanted to thank you for agreeing to break off your engagement"

A small smile came to her lips.

"You deserve this second chance Breen"

I gave Rose a hug and she returned it. Cal came back and not caring if anyone saw he took my hand into his. A short time later we were outside on the main deck where some lifeboats had already been loaded. Cal then suddenly pulled me aside.

"Breen you need to get onto a boat immediately"

"Absolutely not" I countered shaking my head. Cal was about to argue but I interrupted him. "We've been apart for twelve years and I'm not leaving this time"

Cal sighed before drawing me into a hug. We remained like this for a few minutes before we rejoined Rose and Ruth. Molly was helping some First Class ladies into the lifeboat. Cal asked if any men were allowed but the naval officer said only women and children could enter the boats at the moment.

"Are the lifeboats seated according to class?" Ruth asked but her question wasn't answered due to the constant chatter. She turned to us. "I hope their not too crowded"

"Oh mother shut up!" Rose snapped. "Don't you understand?! The water is freezing and there aren't enough boats not enough by half, half of the people on the ship are going to die"

Cal seemed shocked that Rose stood up to her mother and I was proud of her doing that. Molly then helped Ruth into the life boat. Once she was in the boat did Cal take Rose aside and Ruth began to protest.

Cal's POV

"Find Dawson before it's too late" I strongly advised to Rose.

"What about you and Breen?" Rose asked.

"We'll try to get on another boat together you don't have much time"

Rose nodded before she pressed a kiss against my cheek and she took off.

Breen's POV

I saw Rose take off and the lifeboat that Ruth was in began to be lowered. Rose's mother continued to shout for her daughter but it was too late.

"Rose went to get Dawson" Cal explained rejoining me.

I nodded and Cal kissed my forehead knowing we both wouldn't leave without the other.

Rose's POV

The best chance for me to save Jack was to find Mr. Andrews. Jack would have been taken to the Master of Arms cabin if he was under arrest. I searched the hallways in First Class area and thankfully I found the carpenter.

"Mr. Andrews! Thank god! Where would the Master of Arms take someone under arrest?"

"What? You have to get to a boat right away"

"No" I countered. "I'm doing this with or without your help sir, but without will take longer"

Mr. Andrews nodded before explaining what I needed to do. I listened to his every word before thanking him and hurried into the direction of the lifts. A couple was arguing with the attendant and I rushed over. The attendant apologized saying the lifts were closed. Having enough I snapped.

"I'm through being polite god damn it!" I pushed the attendant into the elevator and told him to go to E deck which he complied with. I felt my heart pounding as the elevator went lower and upon arriving at E deck water entered the elevator. Jack hadn't been kidding the water was cold!

I hurriedly opened the elevator gates and the attendant went back up after I was on E deck. The water was now above my feet and I made my way to where I hoped Jack was. I had to maneuver my way through debris while looking for the Master of Arms quarters. I shouted Jack's name several times and I finally heard him shout back.

I also heard metal banging on something so I followed after that too. Eventually I found the quarters and Jack was handcuffed to a pipe. I apologized to Jack profusely and gave him a kiss. Apparently Lovejoy had decided to bring him down here despite Cal not ordering him to do so.

My next task was to find a spare key so the cuffs could be removed from Jack. I checked the cabinet but didn't see a silver spare key. I also checked other places and eventually we both realized there was no key. Jack advised I go get help and after giving him another brief kiss did I leave so I could find help. If not I would need to find a way to free Jack on my own.
