Geez I need to update this story. Thank you for those who have reviewed!
Rose's POV
I wasn't having any luck finding help for Jack. I did find a steward but the bastard wouldn't listen so I punched him in the face. He left me to fend for myself and I leaned against the wall out of ideas. Well until I saw an ax and I quickly used a fire hose to break the glass case it was in.
Taking the ax into my grasp I hurried back to the lower deck where Jack was still trapped. When I came to the stairs I stopped when I saw the lower deck almost underwater.
"Oh my god" I muttered before making my way into the cold water. Due to the weight of my coat I took it off before finally submerging myself into the water. Jack wasn't kidding it was cold!
Still I ignored the freezing water and made my way to where Jack was with the ax in hand. I found Jack trying to stay out of the water. I asked him if the ax would work and he suggested I make a few practice swings. I did as he asked against the key case. After two swings I turned around and Jack readied himself for me to use the ax.
"Just hit it hard and really fast" Jack told me.
I nodded before looking to the area where I needed to strike. Closing my eyes I swung the ax hard and fast. When I opened my eyes I saw Jack was freed!
I laughed in relief as did Jack and the two of us hugged before making our way out of the room.
"Oh shit this water is cold! Oh shit!"
Breen's POV
"Ms. Breen I can't just leave!" Charlotte protested.
My maid didn't want to leave me behind but I insisted she get on a lifeboat. She knew I would not leave without Cal.
"She'll be safe with me" Cal promised.
Charlotte looked to Cal before doing the same with me. She tearfully brought me into a hug and I hoped I would see her later. She and I separated so the lifeboat could be lowered. Cal and I watched as the older woman whom I had known all my life was being taken to safety.
"We don't have much time to find a boat" Cal said turning to me. "And no one on this side is letting men in"
"We just have to keep looking" I advised. "As I said before I'm not leaving you again"
The man I loved smiled and he took my gloved hand into his and kissed it. Together the two of us decided to see if men were possibly being let on into boats on the other side. We passed a chef tossing furniture overboard.
"That's smart what he's doing" Cal told me. "People can use the furniture to stay out of the water"
In the midst of the chaos Lovejoy found us. Cal didn't seem happy to see him but that didn't matter.
"We're running out of time no one on this side is letting men on"
"There's a boat on the other side letting men on" the valet told his employer.
"Well then let's try that"
Lovejoy guided us to where this boat was. We did find the boat in question and it was in charge of a William Murdoch. Sure enough he was letting men on and the boat wasn't full yet thankfully. Lovejoy left to see if he could possibly locate Rose since Cal was worried about her.
"Oh bloody hell" I swore seeing the bow of the ship was almost completely underwater.
"Oh shit" Cal added seeing what I was looking at.
Lovejoy found us again.
"I found her she's on the other side waiting for a boat with him"
Immediately Cal rushed off and I followed after him. I hoped Lovejoy was referring to Rose and Jack.
Rose's POV
"I'm not going without you" I told Jack firmly.
We found a boat but being stubborn I refused to leave the man I loved behind.
"You have to go now, get in the boat Rose"
I shook my head.
"Rose!"
Cal and Breen appeared and my former fiancé looked relieved I was alright. He and I shared a hug and Jack looked confused after we separated.
"Dawson I'm glad your alright I'm sorry for what Lovejoy did I had Rose go find you" Cal explained.
Jack looked shocked at what Cal had just told him for a few moments but he then nodded. Cal then noticed I didn't have my coat on so he took his off and gave it to me. Jack thanked Cal before trying to get me to board the boat again. I guess you could say I was stubborn because I refused to go.
"Rose listen to Dawson" Cal interjected. "There's a boat on the other side we'll try to get on it"
I looked to my former fiancé and his eyes held honesty in them. The officer then pulled me forward and as I was being put into the boat I grabbed hold of Jack's hand. Eventually our hands separated and the boat started to be lowered.
Breen's POV
Seeing Rose look at Jack broke my heart.
"Is there really another boat for us?" Jack asked not looking at Cal.
"Yes there is and I intend to keep my word" Cal replied. "All I ask is you make Rose happy"
"I will just do the same with Breen" Jack said nodding at me.
I watched Cal smile and he squeezed my hand reassuringly. On the boat Rose looked around as well as looking back to Jack in uncertainty. She then looked ahead at the lower deck and she charged forward.
"Rose!" Jack and I protested as she leapt from the lifeboat back onboard Titanic. Cal was shocked and after Jack protested again he took off. I followed after Jack and from where I found him he was in the Grand Staircase room embracing and kissing Rose.
"Damn I didn't expect her to do that" Cal stated beside me.
"I would have done the same thing" I admitted to the man I loved. Cal looked at me for a moment before he pulled me into him.
"I know" was his reply.
