The Last Battle: Part 1.

Kari didn't know how much time had passed when she was finally able to see the lighthouse T.K. was in. She didn't believe it was very long and Nefertimon was going pretty fast. The door was wide open and there was a yellow light inside.

The light has to be T.K. Kari thought. Kari jumped off Nefertimon's back and Nefertimon reverted back to Gatomon to save energy. Kari examined the room, and it didn't appear that "Gennai" was there. She knew better than to let her guard down though as she was sure he was around and more likely than not VERY close by.

She saw T.K. almost instantly but despite the yellow glow she didn't feel the need to shield her eyes. He was unconscious like how she saw him and somehow hovering a few feet off the ground. She ran to him with happy tears staining her eyes and put her arms around him. This caused her Digivice to flash pink which caused the yellow that was coming out of T.K. to stop. This caused T.K. to fall to the ground and with the unexpected added weight around her arms, Kari fell on top of him.

"Ouch" Kari said wanting to rub her poor knees to give them some relief from the impact.

"T.K." Patamon almost bust into tears as he jumped on top of his partner and to some mild annoyance on Kari's side, her back as well.

"Ugh" T.K. groaned as he started to wake up soon after.

"You're awake?!" Kari said shocked.

"Kari…can't…breath…"T.K. gasped. Kari's eyes went wide as she suddenly realized she was leaning on him and jumped off which also threw off Patamon who replied with an ouch.

"Sorry" Kari said blushing

"It's okay" T.K. said with his trademark grin, "I'm glad you all are safe. Though quick question, where are we?"

"The Dark Ocean" Gatomon replied.

"I see" T.K. said, the smile from his face was gone and he adopted a serious look.

"So umm, how do we get out of here?' Patamon asked.

"Umm…" Kari pondered suddenly realizing she didn't have an escape plan.

Gatomon's ears twitched and then there was a splash outside.

T.K. got up but not before stealing a glance at his Digivice, the timer was already passing the halfway point. He guessed the stunt that he pulled costed him some serious time. But he didn't have time to think about that right now, everyone was still in danger, and he had to make sure everyone would make it home safe.

"Someone is coming" Gatomon warned, her eyes going into a catlike slit.

T.K. looked towards Patamon and Patamon nodded that he was good to go. Gatomon was also recharged, a side effect from being close to T.K.'s Crest of Hope.

*Clap* "Clap* *Clap*

The 4 looked at each other and with a nod all ran outside to greet their uninvited guests.

"Congratulations of finding one another"

"Gennai" was there with NO, OH NO HOW? NO DOUBT ABOUT IT! THAT'S DEVIMON! Seeing Devimon made T.K.'s blood run cold. He knew, somehow, he knew; this was the Devimon Angemon sacrificed himself to stop all those years ago. While he was uncertain if the Devimon was the same Devimon from years past back when MagnaAngemon was fighting him, he KNEW this one was the very same.

"Good you're awake" Devimon stated, his voice making both Kari and T.K.'s skin crawl.

"PATAMON EVOLUTION" Angemon

Patamon realizing the level of peril they were about to be in decided to evolve now rather than later.

Gatomon jumped on Angemon's shoulder, both ready to act within a moments notice.

"Ah, don't be like that" "Gennai" wined. "It took me a long time to make this gift for you all and for you to hate it this much, ah I could just cry."

Devimon lacking the over-dramatic nature of "Gennai" just walked forward and pointed a talon at T.K.

"You've grown boy, while I've rotted away. You've evolved while I was cast away. I've never forgotten the things you and your angle have done to me. No more, today I grow in your place. Today I make you suffer while I take the thing you hold most dear."

"Just try it" T.K. said coldly.

Kari was a little worried seeing how T.K. was reacting but she knew he had good reason. Eventually he had told her the whole story of their first battle with Devimon. While she did hear about it from her brother, it was a different experience hearing it from T.K. Out of all the Digidestend, T.K. was the first one to lose his Digimon. While Patamon did return T.K. and T.K. has learned to better handle his fear as he grew older, he was never fully able to escape his fear of loosing his best friend.

"I'd do more than that" Devimon took another step forward

"HAND OF FATE" Angemon blasted off his special attack and to everyone's surprise Devimon was able to swat it away which caused T.K. and Angemon to grow in frustration.

"HA HA HA, oh it won't be that easy" "Gennai" mused again "you see when I was putting tall, dark and brooding over there I put in some upgrades. You'll have to do far better than that."

Figures T.K. thought in frustration. Last time they encountered a Devimon, the Digimon was able to keep up with MagnaAngemon an ultimate as a champion. This time it would be even harder. Still though he thought to himself, "Gennai" doesn't seem to want to join into this fight so it's still two against one. Even if he is way stronger than before, we should have the firepower to bring him down and go home.

"Oh, don't worry, we intend too!" T.K. shouted holding onto his Digivice in a death grip.

"I'm right behind you" Kari said holding her device in the same way.

"Give me a good show!" "Gennai said with Glee.

Devimon took a step forward hoping that the two Digimon in front of him will give him a good fight. He NEEDED this battle to test his new power. If it was too easy than it just wouldn't be worth tearing down the poor boy and his girl along with him.

Angemon and Gatomon took the challenge.

"ANGEMON SUPER EVOLUTION….MagnaAngemon"

"GATOMON SUPER EVOLUTION….Angewomon"

The two ultimates charged Devimon and thus truly began the final fight that T.K. and Kari would be a part in.
