I just reread the first chapter of this story, and when i was writing it last night i thought that it was too long. but rereading it made me feel like it was actually paced well enpugh. im fairly confident the issue is that i am associating the time it takes to write as indicitive of the time it takes to play out the scenes in my mind when reading. so i will try to trust that my pacing is better than what i feel it is, at least whilst writing. okay. aifuerfipurugsghj to the story
Naruto in Werewolfland
Chapter 2
He awoke. He didn't pop up. He didn't scream. No nightmare scared him awake. He just woke up slowly, as though it was any other day. He leaned upward and put one hand on his head, rubbing his, head,... He opened his eyes and took a quick look around. It was still pitch black. He started to infuse chakra back into his eye and slowly began to see the PInnkEeTteE sitting in front of him.
She was sitting straight, with her hands open palmed resting on her knees. She was meditating. He wasnt exactly surprised tos see this, but he was a little impressed. He hadnt seen her meditate full on before, so he felt that it was a mature thing of her to do. Especially after all of the chakra oil toad thing training. sage mode. what a terrible name.
He brought his gaze back to his body, once again realizing that he was still covered in dirt and muck. There was a big chunk of something latying right on his ziper, and he raised his hand to flick it away. As he brushed off his chest, he realized he could hear the friction that his hand was making with the cloth. It seemed that some of his hearing had come back.
While naruto was asleep his ears had begun to rest and acclimitize to their silence. He could hear himself breathing, he could hear himself playing with the rubble of the floor. But he couldnt hear sakuras breathing. Was it because he still didnt have his hearing back fully, or was she being that silent?
Naruto thought about this for a moment, but decided it wasnt particularly important. He watched sakura meditate for a few more minutes as he conintued to wake up. Eventually Sakura took a big breath in and relaxed her shoulders and back. She started to slouch again, indicated that she may of finished meditating for now.
"How are you?" Naruto said, being careful to whisper at first as not to scare her or hurt her ears if they were sensitive as his at that moment.
Sakura opened her eyes slowly but stayed looking forward. Naruto believed that she heard him, but wasnt quite able to figure out what he actually said. She turned her head slowly toward him, meeting his eyes. It was then apparent as her face came into view that Sakuara wasnt too hapy with Naruto. And she was right to nbe.
Naruto had lead them into a situation that could have been easily avoided had he listened to Sakuras plan earlier. Instead he would find them in the middle of a town that was about to sufer an audible subscription attack. what im saying is that naruto should have stayed away from the town and listened to sakura suggesting they travel elsewhere for the time being. But it was also sakiras fault for entertaining narutos desire to stay in town when she felt so strongly against it.
"How are your ears?" sakura said
Naruto a little surprised to hear her voice responded with "I think so. Youre really quiet though. But im pretty sure my hearing is coming back to me."
Sakura continued loking at naruto. Her face still said she was irritated. Naruto felt her staring and looked away to his shirt embarrassed. Just seeing her face grimace at his made him scared for his health.
"Could you speak up?" sakura requested.
"Yeah sorry i just didnt know how loud i should be."
"Could you speak up louder?"
"Oh uh... yeah... Hello there sakura chan how are you doing"
"Hmm."
Naruto looked at her a little more bewildered than he actually felt, but did wonder why she asked for him so raise his voice so much. He felt that he was clearly speaking much louder than usual, but she didnt appear to hear him regardless.
"CAN YOU HEAR ME?" Naruto said loudly
Sakura looked at Naruto now with her head downward and her eyes rolling to the top of her eye hole parts. Naruto waited cautiously for her response.
"I can not hear you Naruto. But I am reading your lips. It seems my hearing hasnt come back yet."
'Yet' Naruto thought. He breathed out a mental sigh of relief, he was afraid she had lost her hearing for a moment there. Sakura turned nback to face the wall in front of her. She closed her eyes. Naruto watched quietly.
"Im not confident that my hearing with return, but I have a good feeling that my hearing will eventually come back."
"Good" Naruto said.
She didnt hear him.
Sakura opened her eyes again.
"We have to change our plans."
"Right!" Naruto said slapping one fist into his palm. Once again she couldnt hear him but at this point their back and forth was more than muscle memory.
"When you feel up for it lets continue digging this tunnel a few miles more and then start to resurface. Once we get back up there we can figure the next steps out then."
"Okay! Good idea!" Naruto exclaimed
Sakura couldnt hear Naruto at all, but she knew Naruto well enough that she could predict what he was saying, as well as knowing he was in fact responding at all.
Naruto stood up excitedly and put his arms on his hips confidently.
"Im ready! Lets get back up there!"
Sakura very softly tilted her head toward Naruto peering out the side of her eyes. She closed her eyes. She took a deep breath. She blew out that deep breath. Then she opened her eyes. She had blood flowing and air in her. She saw stuff and was alive. You get it lol
Anway so she got up and turned to Naruto. He looked at her, still wondering if she was going to snap at him any moment now. Instead Sakura walked passed (past?) him (ebglish is hard ruip) and she was already leading the way again. At this point in their friendship, Naruto actually prefered her taking charge. Less trouble seemed to occur when they did things this way. I wOndER WhY
Once they met the end of the tunnel sakura gestured naruto to stand back. ANaruto obliged and watched as Sakura began to perform the same justu as before. She pulled her arms to her side, shot them forward, screamed a Shanaro, baddabing done. She did it. But this time the tunnel was now moving diagonally upward, much steeper than the other way as well.
Without taking a moment to look at her handwork she began to climb up the tunnel, Naruto followed. It seemed as though Sakura was content with not filling up the tunnel behind them any more. Was is that she was being negligent? Surely the structural integrity of the area would be slightly imposed, but Naruto thought perhaps it wouldnt be took bad.
"Im reserving my chakra. Im not letting something like that happen again and take me by surprise."
NAruto was both surprised and not surprised that she instinctively knew what he was thinking. But it made sense, the justu she was using looked powerful and worked fast. But more apparent was how far her tunnels traveled. Seemingly miles in an instant forming in front of them.
"Of course, it takes a lot of chakra." Naruto thought to himself. He of course was far more leinent with his reserves due to him being, you know, fucking naruto AND having a demon insdie him. Crazy shit.
Sakura conintued to lengthen the tunnel further and further. Naruto continued to be impressed with Sakuras stamina. Even though this justu clearly took its toll on her, she wasnt letting it show. She wasnt that same 12 year old all those years ago in the academy.
With one last push Sakura performed her justu and watched as the ceiling of their path caved in on itself ahead of them. The smoke that rose up brought naruto arm to his eyes. When the dust settled he could see the night sky. It was night. How long had it been?

Had they stayed there for only few hours? Or had more time passed? Evidently Sakura chose this moment to speak "Its only been a day. Were basically back where we started from yesterday."
"Ah... Well thats good. I guess?"
Naruto was lost in thougth for a few seconds, because hes stupod, then looked to the sky. The stars were shinging brilliantly tonight and he was enamoured with their beauty.
They finished there climb and pulled themselves onto the surface. Sakura coninutued to walk a few steps forward while Naruto paused to dust himself off.
"Could I BE anymore filthy?" Friends ayoooo
"Lets go this way. Well loom for the nearest venue."
"Hooii!" Naruto clapped his legs together and saluted. Sakura got back into her stride and Naruto was in suit.
It had been a long journey for them up to this point, but there journey still had a long ways to go.

POkat so im prety happy with this one. havent reread it yet but i think ive gotten the point across. there were in one place and now theyre in another lol anyway next chapter ill actually get to the real meat of the plot and get the ball rolling. i think. i hope. who knows writing sucks. it doesnt feel good to write it just feels good to get the ideas written down in general. more of a relief thing. dik. alright im sure i have tons of other things to say but im prety sure in the terms and conidiotions for im actually not suppoed to even have authors notes to begin with, but once again, fuck the system. just not nearly as much as you know the big system. like a gentle fuck the system because even though i know nothing of the character of the inidivduals that upkeep i still want them to feel respected even if i disobey one of their rules. god i hope they dont think lowly of me for doing this stream of conciousness no editing misspelling mistyped misthogutht stuf. anyway goodnight gusy say something nice to my cat by sending it out into the universe thanky ou!
