"If no one else would help, I can only help myself."

Naruto was at the rooftop again. This time Shikamaru was not there to share it with him. He was perched on the edge of the rooftop where with just one push he was falling to the ground but that was the least of his troubles.

He was a hypocrite.

Gaara felt the same loneliness he felt and was driven to the wall. His actions were all to protect himself from the hurt and pain. Gaara surrounded himself by a wall. A thick and tall wall that sheer force would not pull down. Naruto had to free Gaara from his desolation just like Iruka did to him but how?

It was like trying to dig a well with a plastic spoon. Gaara was sure to shut out his advances. What would he do?!

"Yosh!" Naruto slapped himself on the cheeks in determination. He would dig through Gaara's defensive wall with his plastic spoon even if it takes him years! "I never give up and I never run away, that's my nindo!"

"Hn dobe."

If Naruto was as jumpy as he usually was in this moment, he would have plummeted down the rooftop to his untimely death. Fortunately, he held on to the ledge thus avoiding that cruel end. He scowled at the person that gave him a fright, it was that Teme from the first day.

"What?!" He snarled.

"Hn." Sasuke pocketed his hands, hiding the fact that he was relieved that the blond didn't fall down to his death, and grunted.

"Do you like, speak at all bastard?" Naruto suddenly asked.

"I don't think there's anything I'd say that you'd understand." Sasuke jabbed. He smirked a bit when Naruto bristled at his comment but was quick to hide it.

"Teme!" Naruto yelled.

"Hn."

"The hell does that mean?!" The blond was close to blowing up a fuse. This guy had a talent for annoying people with his words.

"Oi, you'd fall if you keep going like that." Sasuke's voice sounded indifferent like he could care less if Naruto fell but in actuality he was rather anxious. He did not want to be an eye witness of Namikaze's death.

"If I fall it would be because of you, teme." Naruto bit back. "What's your name?" He asked after a moment of watching Sasuke browse through his phone. Only then did he realize that the dark haired boy was holding a speaker. Aah, he came here to dance. Why the roof though? The school had more dance rooms than Naruto could count with his fingers so why did he not use one of them?

"Sasuke." Sasuke answered. "Uchiha Sasuke." He didn't even know why he was talking to Namikaze, an alleged murderer. Sasuke decided that he didn't care since it was not like they were friends or anything. Oh little did he know that he was going to be best friends with the blond.

"I'm Naruto." Naruto's grin could blind the sun. "So you freestyle?"

"I do all kind of dances." Sasuke wondered why he was suddenly being talkative. He was not called monosyllabic for nothing after all. It was not that Sasuke was quiet, talking just bored him quickly. His mouth ached if he talked a lot so he stayed silent most of the time.

"Show off. I bet I can beat you at break dance." Naruto challenged leaping off the ledge.

"Hn. Usuratonkachi, you're a hundred years too soon to beat me." Sasuke wasn't bragging, it was the truth. He had watched Naruto's performance at the auditions because he was the school for some reason that day. He was more flexible than the blond despite his skills.

"Aah?! I'll show you, you arrogant prick. Let's have a dance off!" Naruto exclaimed. His competitive side was showing now however Sasuke didn't even glance at his direction.

"Amateurs recognize superiority as arrogance. That's an inferiority complex." The dark haired boy drawled smugly. Naruto fumed and stumbled upon words of rebuttal to say back to him. It was a funny sight.

"Aaargh!" Naruto succumbed to frustration and pulled his golden locks. With the way he was going, Sasuke was sure his brain would break through his scalp. "I'll show you teme but not now." The blond huffed before leaving the Uchiha to himself.

Naruto watched as Gaara sat on his lone table during lunch again. His punishment sentence was over so he could join them in classes and normal school work again. Gaara had not spared so much as a glance at Naruto when the blond greeted him good morning earlier today. His classmates had given him strange looks for talking to Gaara but he ignored them all.

Heads turned towards his direction as he walked over to that lone table. Naruto felt gravity intensifying with every step he took towards the redhead's table. The aura the boy radiated was so strong. Mint green eyes watched Naruto setting his food tray down before him. The aura waxed stronger to the point that Naruto could feel dribbles of cold sweat drip down his back.

Naruto covered up his anxiety with a grin. "Can I sit here?" He asked.

There was silence and more silence until Gaara picked up his food tray and left the table. Naruto wrinkled his nose at the rejection but his mind was made up. He would break through Gaara's wall even if it took years!

It was a Saturday morning in Konoha. It was just a few minutes before noon so it could not really be called a morning but nobody cared. Kakashi sauntered inside the gym because he had to keep fit even if he was momentarily unemployed. An all too familiar voice made him stop in his tracks and groan a little.

"Aoya Kakashi-sensei, fancy meeting you here!"

Kakashi knew that their meeting was not a coincidence and he was sure that Iruka was aware that he knew but the shit eater still grinned. Iruka, after that day, had made it a point to stalk him and pester him with revoking his resignation. It didn't matter what Kakashi did or the threats he gave the smaller man, the brunet did not let up.

"Iruka I would file a police report, I really would." Kakashi glared but it passed through the scarred man like air.

Iruka simply smiled. "Call the police?! But why? Did I do something wrong?" He feigned ignorance.

Kakashi sighed and signed in. Iruka did too and followed him to the locker room. The silver haired man was waiting for the moment the brunet would start talking about the students he abandoned and he was not disappointed.

"The new students are quite challenging but they are a talented bunch. They are so eager when it comes to their talents. Your students really miss you. There is no sub teacher yet so thy spend their period lazing around-" Iruka was interrupted by Kakashi slamming his locker shut.

"I am not going back to being a teacher and I am not dancing again." Kakashi doesn't know how many times he had to repeat this to get it into Iruka's thick skull. He turned around and left him at the locker room.

Iruka on the other hand watched Kakashi leaving with a slight frown. What happened to Kakashi? The man was so secretive that nobody even knew how his face looked like because of the surgical mask he always wore.

Even when they were still co workers Kakashi was standoffish and aloof. Yes he interacted with his colleagues here and there but he always kept to himself and his behind the mask he wore and the literature porn he always read.

Kakashi found himself looking behind him for Iruka but the brunet never came. He sighed with relief. Maybe he had finally gotten that he was not going back to dancing again.

Gaara watched his blond classmate sit across him during lunch again. He was honestly confused despite his stony expression. Why did he insist to sit across him? Was he planning something against him? Was he going to try to do anything? Gaara picked his food tray and left the table again. He didn't know what the whiskered boy wanted with him but he let Gaara walk out on him again.

The same thing repeated itself again the next day. This was the third day Naruto was coming to sit across of Gaara during lunch and a week since he started greeting the redhead good morning. He was always rejected and ignored but Whiskers, as Gaara dubbed him, kept coming back. He hadn't bothered to learn the names of his classmates since they would not talk anyway.

Whiskers came to sit at his table again and Gaara left. The redhead should start looking for other places he can eat without being interrupted or pestered by the vulpine blond. Gaara's gears were turning though nobody could tell because his stony expression remained the same.

What was Whisker's objective with him? Why was he suddenly talking to him when he had looked shit scared of him like the rest of the school had? Why did he choose Gaara's table of all places to sit? What was up with this blond? He wanted to be left alone!

"Good morning Gaara!"

Hinata froze on her path down the hallway of the first year building and spun around. She just felt his aura! The ravenette's breath caught at the sight of the most handsome boy on earth.

His golden hair reflected the sun's rays. His eyes were their own sky and the whiskers that adorned his face remained as cute as ever.

Hinata watched the interaction (more like lack of interaction) between him and Gaara with awe. Her crush was so kind and friendly! She wondered what his name was, she bet it would be as handsome as his face. Hinata liked his guts, his perseverance and the intensity on his face when he danced...!

Hinata froze even more if that was possible when his blue eyes met with her lavender ones. 'He is looking at me...' She could feel the familiar heat crawling up her face and manifesting itself as red tinges across her cheeks.

"Hey, I know you." He spoke up and that was when Hinata broke. Her face bloomed like a ripe tomato as heat rushed through her body. Steam could be seen coming out of her ears even. Hinata stepped back, all flustered, and ran away as fast as she could only to bump into a sturdy chest.

"Whoa!" Neji grabbed his cousin by her arms before she could fall. He had sensed her distress earlier when he entered their class and didn't see her trailing behind him as usual, and so turned around to look for her. Call him overprotective if you like, he just wanted to be there for his sisters whenever he could.

"Neji!" Hinata gasped. Her face got redder when Neji glanced down at her and grew a knowing look on his face.

"Oya? So that secret person you admire goes to our school? Who is he?" Neji left Hinata's hands and walked around her to see the poor person that he had to pummel to stay away from his cousin.

"Neji!" Hinata pulled at his sweater to stop him but the boy was stronger than her so he just dragged her along despite her efforts. Hinata yelped and his behind Neji when her Greek god looked up and saw them. He was talking to Kiba.

Neji scowled at the sight of the two people he hated the most after his self proclaimed eternal rival (we would get to that later). He hated Kiba from the start and Namikaze was just the annoying brat he was. Hold on!

"Aaah?!" Neji's face drained of it's colour as he faced Hinata. "Namikaze?! Of all people, NAMIKAZE?!" He yelled frantically.

"Never thought I'd see the day Neji loses his composure." Kiba muttered. Neji's feelings towards him were mutual. He had no idea why Neji hated him but he guessed Neji hated everybody that were guys and showed even the tiniest interest in his cousins. Che! That was years ago, his crush on Hinata had melted into something more platonic.

"Oi! My name is Naruto you king-jerk!" Naruto yelled, stumping his foot like a five year old.

'So his name is Naruto!' Hinata mused dreamily.

At this Neji paled. "No. No. No. No. Hinata, come with me and hello Shino." He said before dragging Hinata along.

"Good morning Shino!" Hinata yelled after her silent and inconspicuous friend. His face was hidden behind his scarf and shades as usual.

How did Neji come to hate Kiba, Naruto and Lee who proclaimed himself as his eternal rival (much more than before)?

It happened during gym class. Gym was one of the joint classes the recuperative class had with the genius class and their teacher, Mitarashi Anko, had more than one screw loose in her brain.

Neji though did not know that a new person would join his hate list and maybe crawl her way to the top of it.

In the recuperative class, Tenten gave a rather loud sneeze.

It was that time of the school year when the members of the student union were to campaign for their elections. The student union consisted of brilliant individuals that could take on their roles effectively, and their subordinates which are the class reps. The main constituent of the student union were seniors and in some cases second years and very brilliant first years.

Amongst the contestants for various positions, two individuals contested for the most important position; the President of the student union. They were Uzumaki Nagato and Uchiha Itachi.

The both of them were bright minds and often contended with each other for the position of the class ace. The competition between them was hot despite friendly. Everyone wondered who would win between Nagato and Itachi.

In every class, each homeroom teacher was announcing something important; the election of the class reps. In Asuma's class, the genius class, two contestants nominated themselves as candidates. They were Hyuga Neji and Uchiha Sasuke. Like Nagato and Uchiha, they always contended for first place and important positions in the school.

Being class rep during freshman highschool year was important because you got to be part of the student union so you can understand how fierce the competition is.

In Iruka's class, after a long speech by the teacher he announced the news. "So who is nominating him/herself for the position of the class rep?" The man was met with pin drop silence as every single one of them suddenly found interest in the ceiling.

Shikamaru closed his eyes with a sigh. 'Class rep? What a drag.' He looked at Kiba, Naruto, Lee and Yukata disdainfully. 'I can't be bothered with those morons, how troublesome.'

Tenten's eyes darted to and fro in an attempt to avoid Iruka's gaze. 'Not me! Not me! I wanna dance, not be the class rep of some bozos. Not me!'

Gaara was the only one staring at Iruka as if saying, 'make me the class rep, I dare you.'

Naruto was sweating bullets. Class rep meant being in school first and leaving school last. He had to organize the class and all those things he was not good at. It didn't help that Iruka's gaze was intent on him. 'No, no, no, no. Oh Lord, no. I don't want to be the class rep, no.'

Choji's attention was elsewhere. 'Hmm, I exhausted my potato chips this morning. I have to go shopping for more then maybe I can stop at a BBQ shop. Yeah that's good...' He was salivating already.

Yukata didn't even understand why everybody was silent. 'Class rep? Would they fight off aliens? Are they like the big boss of the school like the principal?! Wah, I wanna be one!' She was about to raise her hand when an eye jab from Matsuri stopped her.

The girl in question just noticed how pretty the ceiling of their class was, it was white! 'Class rep? No way. I won't have any freedom so not me.'

'Strawberry, pineapple, strawberry, pineapple, strawberry, pineapple, strawberry, pineapple, strawberry, pineapple, strawberry...' Omoi was daydreaming about what flavour of lollipop to choose next while Karui crossed her legs nonchalantly.

'If I were chosen, I would be the boss. Now that's not a bad idea except for the idiots I have to deal with.' She thought.

Kiba's eyes were fixed on the ceiling. 'Class rep?! In your dreams sensei. No way I'm gonna volunteer for that hell.'

Tamaki was nervous about the possibility of being chosen as a last resort if nobody was nominated. 'Somebody please raise your hand. Anyone would do, anyone!'

'That is such a youthful position to hold but I am afraid I do not have what it takes to be the class representative.' Lee youthfully declined the position.

Iruka looked around at his students and sighed. He knew this would happen. "Since nobody is nominating themselves or any other classmate, I would pick a random person."

Gasps of horror filled the class.

Iruka's brown eyes narrowed on each and every student in the class and each of them avoided his gaze except Gaara who met it with an intense glare. The teacher had half a mind to choose Gaara because of his defiance but decided against it when he realized that the redhead could commit arson and burn the school down altogether.

"The person I have chosen to be your class representative is..." Iruka's gaze was locked on Naruto's.

"T-Tenten!"

"WHAT?!" Tenten bellowed as Naruto yelped her name. On all honesty, hers was the only name that came to mind when he saw that Iruka was going to choose him.

"Hai!" Lee agreed. "Tenten is a very youthful student and would no doubt carry on the duties of a class representative excellently."

"Yay Tenten!" Yukata yelled.

"Bravo, Tenten." Karui started clapping and everybody joined, throwing in their own two cents about how excellent Tenten was.

"Congratulations Tenten, you are the class rep." Iruka smiled.

"What? This was obviously a conspiracy, I can't be class rep!" Tenten argued but the claps crescendoed courtesy of Kiba.

"Hip hip...!"

"Hurrah!"

"Hip hip...!"

"Hurrah!"

None of them were giving Tenten the chance to refuse her position or to let Iruka change his mind. The bun haired girl was unfortunately stuck with her new position and Naruto had an appointment with death once school was over.

I apologize for the multiple POV changes.

Who would be the class rep for the genius class and who would be the president of the student union?

Thanks for reading. Please review to tell me what you think about this book.

I do not own Naruto.

See you in the next chapter, bye.
