Daphne had woken up to a brand-new day in the jungle. It had been so long now since the plane crash that had left her trapped there that she lost count of the days. She had only been keeping track of the first few days which then turned into weeks. Weeks soon became a month or so she believed to where she now began to realize her time in the jungle may be indefinite.

But as horrible as it sounded to be stranded in the jungle for what would seem like the rest of her life by then Daphne soon discovered how well she managed to survive. She adapted to the humidity of the jungle well staying in shady grounds when in need. Going for swims when she desired to be cooled by the clear waters and with her talent of swinging on vines and finding appropriate food within the trees and bushes of the lush green environment untouched by man she came to discover there was a lot more to her than she first realized.

It didn't take long for the young woman to find her place within the jungle. Being mostly a vegetarian, she never had to resort to eating meat. A good nutrition of berries, bananas, and other fruits kept her well sustained. If she required water all she needed was to find a river or a pond to drink from or bathe in if the days humidity worked up a heavy sweat in her.

Wearing nothing but the bikini she was supposed to wear for the fashion show that was well fitted to her lean form, Daphne was unconstrained as it was not too tight or loose. It had fit her quite well and being made for the fur of an animal it was comforting and it did not wear or tear when she was abound in the jungle.

Eventually her presence in the jungle was starting to become noticed by the animals that lived in the jungle or out in the pastures and valleys around it. Some of the birds began to fly close to the young woman that was once looked upon as a fearful intruder in the jungle. Nearly all the animals feared the sight of man. But Daphne proved to be different.

She was not a poacher or a hunter. She was a different sort of human. She would whistle in rhyme with some of the birds in the tree's when she was close to some that did not fly away in her presence. Intrigued by her talent in able to tweet and sing almost like them some came to fly upon her arms and shoulders where they were met with a gracious and gentle stroke of their feathers by her.

Daphne was not someone to be feared by them. She would share her plucked fruits to those that required to eat something from the tree's instead of the insects that pestered about all over. The Birds soon began to gossip to others throughout the jungle of the one who was different than possibly all humans. No one showed as much care as she did.

More deeds Daphne had done to prove her sincere nature. She wandered into one of the valleys one fateful afternoon to look upon the sights of the wandering herds of animals that grazed about in the pastures, but she noticed a lone lion cub had wandered to far from its pride and fell into a river. The poor cat could barely swim and to make matters worse Daphne noticed a large crocodile was heading straight for it.

Not wanting to see nature at its worst by watching a poor helpless cub become a meal for a predator Daphne quickly leaped into action. With great speed and grace, she jumped into the river and managed to grab the cub and swim back just before the massive croc could get it in its mighty jaws that Daphne barely avoided herself.

She managed to get the little kitten back to dry land where its pride had come in hopes of saving one of their own. At first they greeted Daphne with aggression believing she was attacking one of their cubs seeing it in her arms. She did her best prove she was not doing anything ill with the cub and to young woman's great surprise the cub spoke in a language that she could understand.

The Cub had told its mother one of the lioness's that she had saved him, and she was good. In gratitude the pride itself choose to trust the young human. They invited her to the den near some tall rocks where most of the pride dwelled. There she saw many lion cubs among their mothers with the pride leader watching over his own.

The Pride Leader had heard what the human did for one of his own and gladly welcomed her. She was allowed to come to their den anytime she desired and for her deed she will never be harmed by any one of them. She spent the day playing with the lion cubs and learned a great deal about the lions.

Despite their fierce and formidable prowess, they were just as catlike nearly like a house cat. The Lions were the first group of friends other than some of the bird she would come to have in the jungle by then.

During a time when she went traveling through a savannah she met a herd of elephants that heard of the deed she did with the lions. They were desperate need of help themselves when one of their own young got stuck in a muddy pit and was unable to climb out and he was too far out of reach for their trunks to grab him.

With some ingenuity Daphne planned a rescue attempt. With the use of a lot of vines she tied to one elephant and walked down into the pit and tied the other end to the baby elephant they managed to pull him out with some effort and, Daphne herself was thanked by the head of the herd. A Thankful hug of its trunk and a grateful ride on its back was offered to the young woman and she enjoyed the ride upon the mighty creature.

Her good deeds continued to rise throughout the jungle. Never did Daphne stay one place every time she would rest for the night. Always she stuck to the tree's as it was the only place with any relative safety from predators.

One evening when the day had gone out and the moon was high in the sky Daphne laid upon a thick branch and was about to rest after another day of free roaming and enjoying the jungles offerings. But a loud hiss was heard, and cry of pain came out from a tree nearby. She looked to see a poor little monkey that was coiled up and about to be introduced to the jaws of a hungry python that managed to snag it.

Again, Daphne's protective instincts took over. It may be the laws of nature that allowed this to happen but on her watch she wasn't going to let a poor animal become a meal for a hungry predator.

Daphne sprung into action taking a small branch plucking it free from the tree she was in and swung over on a vine and wacked the snake in the head so hard it was knocked out cold and fell from the tree nearly taking the monkey with it but, Daphne managed to grab it before it could disappear down in the darkened brush below.

The Monkey was shaken and frightened but alive and it was thanks to its savior. Daphne allowed him to stay in the safety of her arms for the rest of the night. She comforted the tiny chimp that barely any taller than above her knee's. It chipped and cackled a lot. It couldn't talk clearly but it could speak in simple words and, Daphne came up with a name for the little monkey, Abu.

Since she saved him Abu never left her side for anything. With no family of his own and barely any friends he clung to Daphne and barely was ever out of her sight.

She found herself a companion out of Abu. He was clever and funny at times. Usually, a little mischievous but he was cute one. With some of the friends she made out in the prairies she needed someone in the jungle itself to keep her company and with that, Abu and her made a good team always going out on one adventure or more in the jungle since.

Abu would turn out not to be her only companion she would have as one fateful day she came across a horrible sight. It seemed other than her own presence it seemed the jungle was touched by man in a cruel way. Poachers had left out a trap in the jungle and within the confines of a cage that was shut tight as the door slammed and locked when a foolish animal would wander inside to take the bait within was a tiger.

The Metallic cage was strong, and tiger could do nothing to get through the metal bars that could not be chewed through with its teeth or slashed with its claws.

Angered by the sight that such a noble looking animal was trapped in a cage ready to be retrieved by the poachers if or when they should come see if their trapped was filled Daphne along with Abu tried to figure out how they were going to save him.

The Tiger was told by the two of their intentions and he was grateful for their help. It took a good long time for two friends to think of how they were going to free the tiger. The Cage was made of metal and his claws and fangs were not going to do anything. The Lock could not be picked without proper tools and rocks would not be able to break it.

Then it came to Daphne that the only way to break the cage was it was going to need a lot of muscle and she knew just who could help her. She had brought some of the Elephants from the herd she befriended. With some careful positioning she had them grab a corner of the cage at all four ends and with heavy tugs the bars on the cage began to break and shatter.

The Elephants continued to pull hard as the cage started to break away then it finally tore into four separate parts freeing the tiger from its captive state. He gave his thanks to everyone but more so to, Daphne. No one would have ever gone out of their way to help him like she did. So grateful for saving him from a doomed fate he vowed to stay close with her just like Abu.

The Tiger took her to his cave home in the jungle. There it became obvious to Daphne that now that she has a monkey and now a Tiger as a companion who was named, Raja she needed something more. The Tiger's home had much to offer. From furs from past eaten animals along with boney remains Daphne figured out how to make it all more comforting.

With some hard work she made some of the furs into mats to lay on. Both her friends never realized something other than a pile of leaves could be so soft to lay on. Daphne used some bones and tied them together to make racks to place more furs on to dry them out whenever, Raja, would have to sustain himself.

For the Tiger he always went for those whose time was near he would never end them with anything more than a simple bite on the neck, so their deaths are quick and painless. Daphne would then use their remains to create her and friends' home more comforting and a bit luxurious looking.

Life was looking a lot better for the young woman. With each passing day she was now becoming a true woman of the jungle. She had gone from living life as a city girl to now thriving in the free jungle with no duties and the only responsibility was living to the next day and with all the friends she made in the jungle at the time no one would have ever believed someone like her was capable of being what she was.

Times were good for Daphne in the jungle but even with times like them eventually a challenge or a problem would come out for her when she least expects it and that's when she would have discover who she really is when it matters the most for both herself and the friends she had made.
