POV Narrator
"... so there came a day, like no other, when Earth's mightiest heroes united against a common threat. That was the day the Avengers were born, to fight those battles that no superhero alone would have. never could face ... this is the end. " A young teenage girl told, making dramatic gestures with her hands holding an Ironman Action Figure while in the other hand she holds a live snake costumed to look like a Leviathans, are cybernetically augmented huge creatures used for combat and troop transport by the Chitauri .
All this while sitting in a main office with her mother and the principal.
The girl's name is Luz Noceda, she is a fourteen-year-old Dominican-American with tanned skin, short dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Her attire consists of a pair of black earrings, a white and purple hoodie with cat ears attached to the hood, denim shorts, dark gray leggings and a pair of white slip-on shoes.
"The end of what?" He asked a 36-year-old adult woman with tanned skin, dark brown hair pulled back in a bun and light brown eyes. His attire consisted of a medical uniform with thick red-rimmed glasses and stud earrings on both ears. Her name is Camilia Noceda, Luz's mother.
"My story project. A staging of an important historical event. I chose the battle of New York, when the Avengers, the most powerful heroes on Earth, were born.
I wanted to do the Battle at the Triskelion, but there are no Falcon or Winter Soldier Action Figures. "Said Luz, proud of her work.
"Your story project is why you're here. This obsession with the Avengers is becoming a problem." The principal said, grimacing at the mention of the greatest superhero team in the world.
"And what would you have done with this?" Camila asked, lifting Luz's backpack, filled with Action Figures from all the Avengers and a large amount of fireworks.
"It was for the grand finale, when Ironman carries a nuclear warhead in bringing Chitauri." Luz explained, in a sincere voice, not seeing the problem of lighting fireworks inside a school building.
"Not long ago, most people went to bed thinking the craziest thing in the world was a billionaire in a flying metal suit.
Then the aliens invaded New York and were repelled by, among others, a giant green monster, a 1940s costumed hero, an archer, a Russian spy, a demon hunter, two alien gods and a magical knight related to the last three. The world is going crazy. "Said the president, criticizing these times that seem straight out of a comic.
"Ironman, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Dante, Thor, Loki and Crimson Knight." Luz said, giving the name of each Avengers mentioned by the principal.
"Mija, I love your creativity, but it got out of hand. Remember why you were in the principal's office the last three times?
We all love you to express yourself, but if you can't learn to separate fantasy from reality, you may need to spend the summer here. "Camila said, presenting her daughter with a brochure about a" Reality Check Summer Camp. "
Luz feeling like Superman exposed to Kryptonite wishes to run away from the booklet and what it represents.
But Luz is smart enough to understand that she can't escape the situation and any attempt to change her mother's mind can only escalate the problem.
With this knowledge, Luz reluctantly takes the booklet.
"Don't worry, Mom. I won't let you down. No more oddities!" Luz declared triumphantly, smiling at the problem.
At that precise moment the universe made its move to improve or worsen Luz's situation.
The snake in alien costume has escaped from Luz's grasp, leaping towards the school principal, biting his nose.
"That doesn't count, does it?" Luz asked, hoping with all her heart that she hadn't lost her last pomace of not having a horrible summer.
Completely unaware that she is about to have a unique experience that will change her life and so many other people for years to come.
XXX
After a week, school is over and Luz's horrible summer vacation has just begun.
Luz is waiting for the bus to the summer camp. His face is comparable to that of an orphaned puppy near stockings.
It is not difficult to understand why he feels so bad. His whole summer instead of being thick inside his beloved home doing what he loves.
Luz is forced to spend it away from home, in the reform camp, a terrible place where she would have been forced to comply with the rules.
Luz doesn't know the details of the "Reality Check Summer Camp", but she can figure out that it's the kind of place that once she gets in she won't get out the same way again.
"Oh! Oh, my baby!" Camila said, hugging Luz, sure it will be three months long to get in.
"Now, don't worry. Summer camp will only last three months. You'll be so busy balancing your checkbooks and learning to ... enjoy public radio, time will fly!" Camila said, trying to put a smile on her daughter's face, not supporting to see Luz so sad and downcast.
"But I don't like any of those things. I like tweaking anime clips into music and reading fantasy books with twisted backstories." Luz replied, not wanting to leave for anything in the world, hoping until the last second that her mother could change her mind.
"Mija, your fantasy world is holding you back. Do you have any friends? The real ones, not imagined or drawn or reptilian?" Camila asked, already knowing her daughter's answer, this is why she wants to send Luz to "summer camp" in the hope that Luz can make friends or learn to integrate among her peers.
Luz looks down, not wanting to answer her mother's question with a big no.
Luz has always been considered strange.
Being regarded by all her peers as a friendless outcast.
Luz has tried several times to make friends, but all her attempts have done nothing but scare the other children, forcing Luz to learn to have fun on her own in a fantasy world so as not to succumb to the overwhelming feeling of loneliness.
The only escape from loneliness is his fantasy books and his mother's love.
Camila to her credit, is a great mom, especially considering she's a single mother, raising Luz without the help of a husband or parents who didn't approve of Luz, being an accident born on a wild night at boarding school.
Even with the knowledge that her mother is doing what she considers to be best for her.
Luz can't help but feel betrayed by her mother, beginning to believe that she too is giving up on her.
The Dominican-American girl looks at the cover of her favorite book, The Good Witch Azula and The Mysterious Arcanist Sombra, wanting to make one last nice gesture for her mother. Luz slowly walks over to the trash can and drops her book.
"Summer camp is an opportunity to make friends, but you have to try. Can you do it?" Camila asked, hoping her daughter understands that this "Reality Check Summer Camp" is not a punishment, but an attempt to help her grow out of her self-destructive behaviors.
"Yes mom." Luz replied, in a lifeless tone, not seeing anything that can make her happy.
Camila is about to say something to lift her daughter's spirits, but her phone starts ringing, forcing Camila to run away.
"Oh. I have to go to work. Your bus is on its way. Write me when you arrive. Cuídate mucho, mija. ¡Qué te vaya bien!" Camila said, kissing Luz's forehead, before walking away.
"Hello Mom." Luz greets her mother as she leaves the scene.
Once her mother's disapproving gaze is gone, Luz starts rummaging through the basket to retrieve her beloved book.
With the excuse that you need something to do while traveling.
" Where where?" Luz asked, not finding her book.
"Cra Cra!" A horrible imitation of a crow that caught the attention of the Dominican-American girl.
Looking up, Luz saw a large hawk-sized bird with dark red plumage that resembles a vulture, raven, and hawk, all three birds put into one.
Its eyes have three golden pupils each and above them are bony protrusions in the shape of pointed eyebrows that meet its beak which is quite unique in that it is made up of multiple beaks in a mandibular configuration.
Basically the beak is divided into three parts, one in the upper jaw and two in the lower jaw.
Finally, on the body there are some sort of marks / scars on the bust and under the eyes as if they were tattoos.
"I've never seen a bird like this, it looks like it came out of one of my comics." She muttered Luz in a low voice so as not to scare the bird and not let it escape until she can take a picture of him.
The photograph plan sees discarded, when Luz saw her beloved book in the bird's claws.
" That is mine !" Luz shouted, completely changing her attitude, pointing the finger at the big exotic bird, trying to imitate her mother when she is angry.
The bird almost snorted at Luz's attempt to look intimidating, flapping its wings and flying off into the forest with Luz's book in its claws.
"I can accept that I have no friends, I can accept that my summer is ruined. But I don't accept being robbed by a colorful bird!" Luz shouted, chasing the bird without thinking how unusual the book thief is.
The chase is over when the bird enters a decrepit abandoned house.
"You are trapped!" Luz exclaimed, staring at the abandoned house, the source of some urban legends of the locality.
Oddly, the front door is covered in faintly glowing magical symbols, with a sort of star-shaped crystal in the center.
Any normal person would not pursue the chase, preferring to lose the book, instead of entering an abandoned house with a creepy door.
But Luz is not normal. Without thinking twice, she ran into the shack.
"Stop running away, I just want my book, I promise I won't hurt you - Eh?" Said Luz, unknowingly crossing a magical portal that will take her to a completely different world.
Once you open and walk through the door, Luz Noceda's path of life has changed forever.
XXX
"Stop running away, I just want my book, I promise I won't hurt you - Eh?" Luz stopped talking, realizing she was not in a simple abandoned shack.
Instead Luz finds herself in a room with stone walls, a metal floor, huge circular windows and a huge amount of gears.
"Whoa. Am I inside some kind of clock tower?" Luz murmured, admiring the huge number of gears that are used to move the huge hands placed on the circular windows.
The place is to be used as a kind of storage, because it is chock full of cabinets, trunks, sacks and all sorts of containers.
Luz would have pulled out her phone and taken several photos of the place, but out of the corner of her eye she saw a black and red stain coming down the stairs.
'Luz is not the time to admire the landscape or understand how you got here. You need to get your book back! ' Luz thought, focusing on what's important, pick up what's rightfully hers and maybe give a little lesson on stealing is wrong.
Luz started down the stairs, immediately noticing a big change in mood.
If upstairs, the place looks like a kind of warehouse for goods or storage of goods.
The downstairs resembles an archaic library full of large bookshelves, wooden seats and tables, candles, brave paintings, long curtains, knight's armor placed next to the walls etc.
"This place is so beautiful, it looks like a wizard's or aristocrat's private library." Luz thought, wandering through the shelves, using all her willpower to start opening the books and reading the contents.
"Griffon, you're back. How was your walk on Midgard?" He asked for a beautiful sounding male voice with a subtle British accent.
Luz sensing where the voice is coming from, pulls one of the books off the shelves to be able to see what's going on without getting caught.
Maybe Luz doesn't know how she gets in here or where she is, but she realizes that entering a person's house without permission is a crime.
If her mom sends her to a horrible summer camp just for doing her homework with a little style.
What would he do to her if she was arrested? Would he send her out of the house or leave her?
Luz slapped herself lightly on the cheeks to chase away the bad thoughts, wanting to focus on finding her book.
The person with an accent is a boy three or four years older than Luz, sitting in a silver chair fit for a king.
Physically he is tall and slender with pale skin like that of a vampire or an albino.
Her hair is so blonde that it looks white styled in a way that defies gravity like an Anime character.
His eyes are pure silver in color, reminiscent of the full moon.
His clothing resembles that of a knight combined with that of a gothic punk.
A silver choker with thorny tips.
A cross-shaped earring on the left ear.
A silver ring with a large black piety on the left hand.
But the most attractive trinket according to Luz is a kind of small decorated purple book bordered by thin chains that allow it to hang around the boy's neck.
She wears a sort of sleeveless fitted shirt in pitch black with silver highlights. The shirt is designed to resemble an armor and strangely leaves the navel exposed.
The neck, arms and navel are covered in black ink like tattoos made to look like a work of art.
Leather pants, covered with several silver straps, ending with silver knight's boots.
'He's very handsome ...' Luz thought, having a hard time taking her eyes off a goth boy who reminds him of an aristocratic vampire.
"M, my walk was boring, nothing interesting happened. But I managed to get a present for you." The bird replied that he robbed Luz, leaving the stolen book in the boy's lap, before leaning on the boy's shoulder.
'The thieving bird can speak!' Luz thought, almost screaming aloud in surprise to see a talking analysis.
"The Good Witch Azula ... Volume 5." Said the gothic boy, reading the title of the book.
"Griffon, you did a great job. This book hasn't been published yet, surely Amity will enjoy buying the book for a good amount of money." Said the gothic boy, reaching out and stroking the flying animal.
"Time to make a duplicate for my personal library." The gothic boy muttered, his tattoos started to glow purple.
' Incredible.' Luz thought, watching the most interesting light show of her life
The boy, while his tattoos are still bright, made a gesture with his hand, as if pulling something towards him.
Immediately in flight, small glass jars filled with ink and paint appeared, followed by a few hundred blank pages flying around the boy.
"Arts Overlord: Book Duplication." The boy said, making a gesture with his hand, making Azula's book float.
'Magic. I'm seeing someone casting spells right in front of you!
That's a thousand times over to see home movies featuring the magical members of the Avengers! ' Luz thought, forgetting that she wanted to get her book back, wanting to see what the boy's magic is doing.
The magic has begun to make Azula's book leaf through.
The ink began to move and shape on the blank pages, creating a replica of the content of Azula's book.
In less than a minute there is a second book by Azula also the replica blanket is in black and white, drawn in manga style.
'This reminds me of the magic of Sombra, the mysterious arcanist one of Azura's allies. In an Azula chapter having to retrieve information from a ruined ancient book, Sombra was able to take the contents of the book and put it into a healthy body. ' Luz thought, noticing a resemblance between this boy and one of Azula's closest allies.
Once the entire number of magic worked out to replicate a book is finished, the boy took the replica and shifted his gaze to the talking bird.
"Griffon, get the book and go put it in my study. I'll make extra copies for sale later." The boy gave his orders to Griffon, delivering the replica of Azura's book.
"G, you are a slaver, I just got back from my walk and you make me work until my wings fall off." Griffon said, unhappy with having to work, sounding like a slacker.
"I'm not that lucky. If moving some books is too humble a chore for you, I can ask you to go and bring a package to Eda and King, a bombproof trunk full of ingredients contained in metal jars for extra safety. .
It will definitely not be too difficult a task to fly with such a cargo through some forests and cities. "Said the boy, making a fairly obvious threat.
Go carry this book or you'll have to carry a heavy trunk across half the country.
"M, you have to work on your sense of humor, I was joking, I will gladly take this book to your study. In fact I will also bring you the most beautiful golden apple in the garden." Griffon replied, flapping his wings, flying away as fast as he could, going to put the newly created book in place.
The boy stood up, snapping his fingers his fancy chair melted in a silver puddle for a second and then remodeled into a table set with two chairs.
"Arts Cupcake: Breakfast." The boy murmured, putting his hands on the plates and glasses.
Her tattoos began to glow for a moment, later some food and drink appeared in the cutlery.
'I'm hungry, I was so sad about the summer camp thing today that I barely touched breakfast.' Luz thought, putting a hand on her stomach, wishing she had eaten breakfast.
The boy sat in the chair, placing Luz's book in front of the empty chair.
"If you want you can sit at the table with me, take your book back and eat something or you can stay staring at me behind the shelves." Said the boy dressed in black, looking up at Luz, with a smile on his face.
'I got caught! What I do !?' Luz thought, not knowing whether to start running or she will go sit at the table and eat something.
"Child if I wanted to hurt you you would have been attacked by Griffon or one of my many favorite traps in my castle." The boy declared, snapping his fingers, doing a new magic trick.
In an instant, all the shelves in the room collapsed into the floor, freeing up a lot of space in the room and taking away any covers and hiding places Luz could use.
The boy started pouring the tea, beckoning Luz to sit down.
'Well, Luz, you chased a wizard's Familiar, passed through a magical portal, sneaked into a magical castle.
It is now you are about to speak to the wizard, sorcerer or arcanist in charge of the place. No pressure, it's just your life's chance to learn magic. ' Luz thought, walking slowly to the table and sitting down composed for once in her life.
"You can call me Moriarty, I am a mystical arts expert of many realms and a collector of books. Is that your name?" Asked the guy named Moriarty, starting introductions.
"I ... I'm ..." Luz started stammering with emotion, feeling like an idiot.
"Calm down, I don't bite and I'm a patient man. Have a cup of tea, it will help calm your nerves, think about what you mean, then tell me your name and what brings you here." Moriarty said, seeing that Liz can't find the right words.
" Thanks." Luz said, before tasting the camellia tea.
"Take a few bites of bacon while you're at it. Personally, I've always considered that a person with a full stomach thinks better than a hungry person." Moriarty said, taking his fork and knife, starting to eat too.
After a few minutes, they both finished eating, a smile appeared on Luz's face because of how good the food is.
"My name is Luz, I am a middle school student. Thank you very much for the meal prepared and for the hospitality." Luz said, thanking Moriarty for being nice to her.
Feeling lucky once in her life, in most cases people would not welcome an intruder into their home with a set table and hot food.
"No problem, most of the time eaten alone or in the company of one of my Demon Familiars, excellent fighters but have bad table manners, especially Griffon, that Bad Demon always breaks the dishes." Moriarty said, in a friendly tone, making Luz laugh.
"Difficult to eat with a fork and knife when you have no hands." Luz said, easily imagining when it would be comical to see a bird trying to use cutlery to eat.
"Moriarty, would it be inappropriate if I asked you one or a thousand questions?" She asked Luz, wanting much answers to her long answer of questions about magic and the paranormal.
"If it's nothing too intrusive or personal, sure. What do you want to know?" Moriarty replied, seeing nothing wrong with giving some answers to a curious mind.
Part of Luz immediately wants to ask if Moriarty can give him some magic lessons, but another part of Luz isn't so confident it's a good idea.
'Luz admit you are a strange girl with no friends, even your mother has decided to send you away because she can't stand you anymore.
Moriarty was kind and civil enough to not turn into an otter and offer food. I can't bother more than I should and take it upon myself. ' Luz thought, slowly losing her grit and confidence, deciding to ask another question.
"How did I get here and how can I go home?" Luz asked, in a neutral tone, close to sadness.
"I was expecting a different kind of question." Moriarty said, raising an eyebrow, sensing that something is wrong with Luz. But having just met her literally five minutes ago, the Arcanist doesn't know what to say or do to lift Luz's spirits, who meanwhile put her Azula book inside her backpack.
Clasping his hands and opening them, Moriarty detected a star-shaped crystal that glows a fluorescent light green.
"This gem is the fruit of many years of magic study focused on the manipulation of space. With this beauty you can perform a planetary-scale teleportation or create a portal to neighboring realms." Moriarty explained, proudly, showing his masterpiece to Luz.
The Dominican-American girl can't help but stare at the magic stone, wanting to touch it.
"I strongly advise you not to touch it with your bare hands. If you use it without the necessary precautions or protection you seriously risk being sent to another dimension, being included in a small red spot, flattened or becoming a kind of forced multi-spatial entity. to eternal torment with enormous space powers. " Moriarty said, giving Luz a bunch of warnings not to touch the stone except by suicidal intent.
"Got it, don't touch the magic stone without a quantum of protection ... just like the tengu sword from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003!" Luz said, exposing some of her nerd and reptilian-loving knowledge, snakes are cool but turtles are invincible when it comes to being adorable.
"Nice to see someone appreciating the classics, personally my version of Ninja Turtles is 2003. My favorite turtle is Donatello, I love all the gadgets he makes, just like me." Moriarty explained, waving his hand, reshaping the silver table and chair to form a metal door.
"I like Michelangelo, the most comical and unpredictable brother. Even if the situation gets strange he is always ready to make a joke and have fun.
He doesn't care that he's the weirdo of the group and his ninja brothers accept him for who he is. "Luz said, recounting why he likes Michelangelo, although he may have overturned some personal things, including the desire to have brothers or to be accepted by the mother.
"Luz, before you do the finishing touches on the portal. Let me give you some advice, better be true to yourself and have one, instead of pretending to be something you are not and have hundreds of fake friends." Moriarty said, giving Luz some wisdom, before inserting the magic stone into the door, having it covered with magical runes and inscription.
"But what if being yourself doesn't even want to earn a friend?" Luz asked, hoping to get a more consistent response from Moriarty who is tweaking some Runes on the door.
"Children are cruel and stupid, they will do anything to attack any person who is slightly out of the ordinary or capable of thinking for themselves and not blindly following the flock.
I didn't have any real friends until I turned thirteen, even though it's been years since we first met, I can always rely on his support. Quality not quantity, for a true friend it deserves to wait and suffer, this also applies to love. "Moriarty replied, in a bittersweet tone, apparently the Arcanist and Luz have more in common than it seems.
"The portal is finished, open and go through the door and you will be home." Moriarty said, stepping aside, showing a metal door covered with shiny inscription, ready to send Luz home.
"Right at home waiting for a bus to arrive to get to a summer camp." Luz replied, in a sad tone, not too happy to leave right away, wanting to spend some more time with Moriarty and see other magical things.
'Helpless children, sad girls who are about to cry and beautiful women in distress are my weak point.' Moriarty thought, sensing that Luz isn't having too happy a time in her life. Using quick magic, he summoned an obsidian cube covered with crimson inscriptions into his hands
as big as a Rubik's Cube.
"Luz, take!" Moriarty exclaimed, throwing the obsidian cube at Luz.
" What's this !?" Luz asked, looking at the obsidian cube looking for a button or something similar.
"Its name is Omni-Cubix, in other words it is a super-telephone, even if to be exact it is a miniaturized supercomputer capable of holding 10% of the internet in its database.
It is also capable of making calls from all corners of the universe and surviving a self-repairing nuclear warhead created by myself. "Moriarty explained, bragging about having created the most advanced and toughest phone in the galaxy.
"Great, not even Tony Stark created such a thing, it means something because he's the smartest man in the world. But why you give me such a brave thing." Luz asked, not believing she deserves such a farewell gift that is probably worth more than her home or even more.
"You see, not many people pass by here, sometimes the Owl Lady, the King of demons, visit me.
But most of the time it's just me and my research on the new frontiers of magic and science.
Don't mind having a little company every now and then, give me a call, I'll open a portal for you.
If you are interested you can become my assistant it would be useful to have an extra pair of hands.
Griffon isn't the most reliable bird when it comes to assistance through the potions lab or robotics. "Moriarty explained why he gave the Omni-Cubix to Luz, so she can keep in touch with Luz and maybe give one or more. two magic lessons.
"Are you serious?" Asked Luz, hoping it's not a bad joke, an Arcanist comparable to Sombra, his third favorite character from The Good Witch Azula, is inclined to give him magic lessons and assist him in his magical experiments.
"You managed to chase Griffon and pass through my portal without being stopped by my security system which makes it impossible for a normal human to locate.
It means you have potential for the mystical arts. "Moriarty explained, seeing potential in Luz.
"You can teach me how to become a witch, my biggest dream in life is to become a witch just like Azula!" Azula shouted, hugging Moriarty tightly who feels slightly uncomfortable from physical contact.
"Luz, I appreciate your gesture of affection, but you can stop it I'm not a fan of physical contact." Moriarty said, kindly trying to persuade Luz to stop hugging.
"Sorry, it's just ..." Luz again doesn't know what words to say to express what her hyperactive mind is thinking.
"I was excited too and couldn't wait for my first magic lesson. But we have to take you to your house, then let's talk about your visiting schedule and lessons." Moriarty said, opening the door, showing an infinite gap of fluorescent green light.
"Is it normal that the portal looks like a glitch?" Luz asked, pointing to the infinite gap that begins to emit glitches as if it were a TV or computer screen.
"Luz, here's your first magic lesson, when you see all sorts of gates and it's emitting weird effects, you have to ..." Moriarty stopped speaking in favor of taking Luz and putting her on his shoulder like she was a sack of potatoes.
"turn your heels and run to save your life!" Moriarty shouted, running upstairs.
" What is happening!" Luz shouted, seeing the door begin to fill with cracks and release green energies.
"That form of portal magic is a new form of magic that I recently invented, so far it hasn't been a problem.
But I just found out that the crystal can only support one round trip per day, attempting multiple trips has caused an energy overload and is about to explode. "Moriarty explained as he reached the clock tower upstairs, full of energy. 'gears and a large amount of objects.
"What are you waiting for, take flight or perform an emergency teleport!" Luz shouted, not wanting to die a magical explosion, even though it sounds better than summer camp.
"Performing any form of teleportation next to an unstable portal is pure suicide, it would be safer to play with matches in a puddle of gasoline." Moriarty explained, using some sort of telekinesis to lift a cupboard and throw it out the window.
"Excelsior!" Moriarty shouted, before taking a run and throwing himself out the window, landing on the collapsing closet.
"Please tell me you have a plan!" Luz shouted, increasing her grip on Moriarty, hoping gravity doesn't separate them.
"Luz, you need to know something about me, I never run out of tricks and nothing without a purpose. Jumping off the tower is the fastest way to get enough distance between us and the portal so I can perform ..." Moriarty doesn't he can finish his sentence because he, Luz and the wardrobe have disappeared of nothing, leaving rose petals and paint behind.

Bonesborough is a dense medieval-style town surrounded by mountains and bony forests, with two large green arms looming over it.
The houses are made of wood and stone and can be up to four stories high; some houses are built on the side of a cliff or on the green arms.
Some houses also have monstrous architecture, wearing a scary look with bones, eyes, teeth, hands, or a mixture.
Many stone paths intersect the narrow city walls. The most important buildings in Bonesborough have a Gothic look, being made of stone and the windows are stained glass.
Suddenly Moriarty, Luz and the wardrobe appeared in the middle of the square just above a public fountain, ruining it upon impact between the wardrobe and the fountain.
Fortunately, only the foundation and the wardrobe received damage, leaving Moriarty and Luz intact.
"a non-magical long distance teleport." Moriarty said, finishing her sentence, putting Luz down on the ground.
"This was the craziest, scariest and funniest thing in my life, let's do it again ..." Luz shouted, throwing her arms in the air in joy and adrenaline, before her face turned green, they have to run to a manhole to lighten his stomach.
"Side effects of my abnormal teleportation, I leave behind me white rose petals covered with paint splatters, all my sparrows for the first time suffer from nausea, dizziness or a compulsive urge to vomit." Moriarty explained, opening the closet and pulling out a small blue potion and some handkerchiefs.
"Here's a potion to help with your stomach and any other problems you might have." Moriarty said, massaging Luz's back, waiting for her to be well enough to take the potion or a handkerchief.
"muchas gracias (thank you very much)" Luz said, separating herself from the garbage can, wiping her mouth and drinking the potion.
"I have one bad news and three good news, which one you want to hear." Moriarty stated, wanting to explain Luz's situation.
"Bad news first, good news later." Luz asked, appreciating hearing the good news at the end, so the bad news seems smaller, especially when it's in the majority.
"Bad news, my portal just exploded, it will take me months to build a similar portal again, and all the other travel methods they know of are quite ... risky for a human to use.
Now the good news.
Number one, you are about to get a little tour of one of the biggest cities on the Boiling Isles, Bonesborough!
Number two, in a few hours the market opens and there will certainly be Eda Clawthorne, the Owl Lady, one of the most powerful witches of this corpse of the island and also the owner of a stable and 100% safe portal.
Number three, we are close to one of my favorite properties, the Iron-House, a sort of cottage turned into a magic shop and bookstore. "Explained Moriarty, snapping his life, conjuring up a ball of golden light in his hand. she is transformed into a silver walking stick, a black detective coat and a fedora.
"Do you have a magic shop !?" Luz asked, excited by the idea of seeing a real magic shop.
"also a bookshop and many other things, do you want to see it until the market opens and we can talk to Eda?" He proposed Moriarty, having no problem bringing Luz to her magic shop.
"Yes, this reminds me of one of the first chapters of volume one of Azula, when the Good Witch Azura moves to town and Sombra decides to give them a tour and introduce them to her workshop." Luz said, pulling out other facts from her favorite book that oddly match reality.
"Before I go, I have to do something with the wardrobe and your clothing." Moriarty said, pointing his silver cane at the closet.
In a second, a large green raincoat that has a tail with a pink ribbon attached, with a pair of hoods with rabbit ears, came out of the closet, flying towards Luz.
While the wardrobe has folded on itself in impossible ways, becoming a kind of large rectangular suitcase.
"What is the raincoat for?" Luz asked, considering the dress as very cute, but she doesn't understand the use, it doesn't look like it's going to rain.
"Luz, you are in a magical realm populated by witches, demons and other oddities. Human beings are quite rare and those who come here are not normal and bring with them a lot of problems. Therefore compulsory disguise." Moriarty stated, lifting the hood with rabbit ears.
"Got it, but you can do some retouching, green is a nice color, but it doesn't suit me." Luz asked, preferring by far to be a catgirl with purple fur.
"No problem. As long as I'm there, I'll put in a little illusion to change the color of the eyes and hair." Moriarty said, clapping his hands and tapping the raincoat, performing a transmutation to change the color from green to purple, at the same time casting an illusion to slightly change Luz's appearance.
Now Luz has a purple raincoat, equipped with a tail and cat ears. Her skin lightened slightly, her eyes and hair turned dark blue.
"She looks like Yoshino Himekawa's cousin, all I need is the cat-shaped puppet." Luz said, using the window of a nearby shop to see her new look.
"One question, why do I have to wear a disguise. But you don't have to, are you human too?" Luz asked, not seeming right that she has to hide while Moriarty can walk without any disguises.
"Half-human, my father was a human being, my biological mom was a thing far from humanity." Moriarty replied, running Luz, moving her tattoos to form scary blood red eyes.
"Scary but in the good sense of the word. You are a kind of magical Dante, a half-human fighting for good." Luz stated, observing in awe at Moriarty's tattoos that are moving and staring at her.
"You are almost as eccentric a girl as I am. I like her, surely you will have no problem getting used to this crazy magical world." Moriarty replied, putting a hand on Luz's shoulder and pulling her close to him.
"If anyone asks you, your name is Lucinda Himekawa, you are a descendant of an ancient clan of Cat Warriors.
You were sent on a suicide mission by the clan elders, you tried to fulfill your duty, but you failed, earning horrific wounds that nearly killed you.
Luckily I was around, I healed you with my magic. Due to some kind of rabbit code or cultural custom, you have decided to stay by my side until you have fulfilled your life debt. "Moriarty whispered, recounting the details of the background to this disguise.
"You are a nice guy." Luz said, trying not to laugh at Moriarty's idea of disguise or backstory.
"All the females in my life tell me I'm nice, crazy, or quirky. Even though I would have preferred to be considered more than just nice." Moriarty said, in a slightly depressive tone, sounding like a man with little luck in love who often hears the phrase: I love you as a brother.
"Is that a manifesto of the most wanted criminals !?" Luz asked, walking away from Moriarty to get a better look at the posters of the five most wanted criminals of this magical realm.
"Relius Clover, The Mad Puppeteer, reward: 10,000,000,000,000
Dante Sparda, The Demon Hunter, reward: 50,000,000,000,000
Loki Laufeyson, The Cheating God, reward: 50,500,000,000,000
Eda Clawthorne, The Owl Lady, reward: 90,000,000,000,000
Gudrun C. Clawthorne-Holmes, The Crimson Knight, reward: 900,000,000,000,000. "Luz read aloud the names of the five most wanted criminals.
"Why are three of my favorite Avengers among the wanted?" Luz shouted, not believing that her heroes are considered some of the greatest criminals of this magical realm.
