Chapter 19 - Mapping Out The Future

(May 2021)

Berk's University Library was not only the biggest library in Berk but was known to be the biggest library in the Archipelago. According to Hiccup his ancestors didn't believe in reading, they never found it interesting however nearly a 1000 years ago Berk was the first island to buy books from traders and once they learned how to read they started to write some of their own. There was a section in this library on the 6th floor that only certain people like Hiccup Haddock had access too, Astrid had free passage of course, all she needed to do was scan her thumb print. In that restricted area there is said to be old manuscripts and books from hundreds and hundreds of years back, some talk of dragons that once roamed Berk and vikings who would ride them. She didn't know if it was true but the history of Berk itself was just fascinating.

And so with Berk being the first island to learn the art of reading and writing after a few good years of stubbornness the other islands came round too. But Berk's library was the biggest, cause it had been built first, a huge temple of 6 floors of books. It was then incorporated into the university back in 1867 when the university built its own law building. The library was still in it's original temple, and the books from the past still stayed on the shelves but as the times moved forward so came new books, and computers. Right now Astrid was sat in the corner on the 5th floor in a booth she booked out herself touching up her pictures on Adobe Software.

She liked coming into the library for a few hours, it just made her think more, plus at home she'd have Ruffnut who'd distract her. It was the beginning of Term 3, she had four weeks left of term before she had her finals, she was finishing early since she was a graduate this year. And if she was totally honest she was absolutely shitting herself. As well as the stress of her finishing her course with the qualifications she wanted, she had to deal with one of her closest friends being on her back, her boyfriend's ex being a psychopathic bitch but also the press on her ass too whenever she went to visit Hiccup, so much so she had taken a few days away from him.

Four more weeks she kept telling herself, four more weeks and then this will end. But she had come to the conclusion that it'll never end, she was dating the heir to Berk, their prince basically, the man who once his father steps down will control everything political about Berk. It's a job in itself. That's why Stoick gave Hiccup the family business after Stoick's father was too mentally ill to carry on.

The fact was this was the life she had chosen to live in, she just had to suck it up and get over it.

Her stress didn't help the fact that she also had a job interview. When thinking of a job she didn't know whether she'd go straight into working for someone or if she'd have the courage to do her mother's dream and open up her own photography studio.

Her mother use to talk about opening up a studio of her own. With a gallery of all her work and others work to sell and to take professional pictures for families, weddings, etc. That had been Astrid's wish to follow up on her mother's dreams someday as they had became hers over the years.

Problem was she hadn't mentioned this interview to anyone, not even Hiccup, or Ruffnut. The interview was with Berk's teen Magazine, the people who harass people like her boyfriend. She got the interview through her University, someone passing just so happened to like her work and asked if she wanted to go for an interview. She couldn't say no, but some part of her knew that being a cut throat photographer wasn't what she wanted. She found photography was an art for her, not something that was used to exploit people's private life.

That's why she wasn't sure how she felt about this interview. What it would mean for her?

So as a distraction she buried herself into her work as that was the only thing she felt was comfortable, familiar. However being here for so long you slowly feeling like the life was draining out of you. The dust that settled on the books made her nose itch, she could feel it start to tickle, forming a sneeze that drew a few people to look her way.

Deciding she had enough for today she saved her digital portfolio on her USB stick and shut down the Mac she was using. It was getting on anyway, if she stayed in the chair much longer her butt would go numb. So she gathered the books she had been using into a pile and lifted them up against her chest. While swinging her bag over her shoulder her ears picked up on some murmuring throughout the library. She was on level 5 so usually it was quiet and away from the ground floors hustle and bustle. But when she walked out of her private booth she hired into the main hall where all the bookshelves were, she found herself having a look over the balcony to see the levels below.

The Library temple was like a tower, going up high with the middle looking up to the ceiling. You could see the rings of levels from the middle, all six of them, with a staircase going up in a spiral to each level. She was on the 5th floor looking down, but the murmurs were coming from the spiral staircase, coming up from level four to level five.

Hiccup, he was in conversation with the headmaster of the university and the deputy Head. They were walking up the stairs with a few first year business students trailing behind. Oh it was the annual apprenticeship talk first years have, in their small seminar groups Hiccup would talk to the students about the opportunity of a few selected students being picked in their third year for a full years apprenticeship.

She remembers when Ruffnut went on about this apprenticeship opportunity talk she had back in first year, when she looks back now Astrid didn't listen to a word Ruffnut was saying at the time, if she had maybe she would have been more clued in about her boyfriend.

He hadn't seen her yet, his eyes were focused on the headmaster, heavy in discussion. She liked to watch him when he was in deep concentration, his eyes narrowed and fixed in place, his hands wafting all over the place as he tried to gesture what he meant. She could only smirk with amusement as she placed all the books back in their designated place on the shelf, she then proceeded to walk back into the main hallway where Hiccup had made it too the 5th floor, that made it hard for him not to see her.

His eyes locked onto hers immediately, and he couldn't contain the smile that appeared on his face, it was a relieved smile, but then reality kicked in and he was reminded he was with company.

She thought that was it, the only communication they would have today if he was roaming the campus, watching him walk off with slight disappointment. But then her phone buzzed and made her gleam with delight as it flashed with Hiccups name and the magic words she was looking for.

'meet me in restricted area - half an hour'

Xx

The restricted area, only for elite members, so she basically had the place to herself. Walking around the bookshelves, running a finger over the ancient books that were kept here for safe keeping. One book in particular stood out from the rest, a big brown book, placed on a podium on its own. It had a circular crest on the front that kinda looked like a dragon. She pushed the hard front cover open to the first page literally spelling it out what this book was - Berks Dragons Manual - 1100.

She knew the legends on Berk, that it was written that Dragons roamed the island, the whole Archipelago to be exact. She flicked through the pages, the old partridge paper felt like it would crumble under her fingers. The pages were full of drawings, everything in this book had been done by hand, drawings of different shape/size dragons. And a load of what looked to be viking runes filled the page, she thought it might be some sort of ancient language, Runic alphebet?

It was extraordinary to see all this history in one page, the detail in one drawing, if it was true, the history of Berk her ancestors must have been up close to get the details of every dragon.

Hands wrapped around her body tightly, pulling her back to hit a hard chest, the action made the breath leave her lungs, as she gasped in surprise. But the smell of her favourite cologne put her defences down as male arms squeezed her tighter. The smell smelt like home, the musty kind of smell that had a hint of sweetness to it. She moved her head slightly into the crook of his neck, breathing in his scent, she even pulled him forward by bringing her hand up into his hair and dragging him down to meet her height.

" Hi you" his lips crossed hers, slowly, kissing her with sweet softness. He made her lips sting when he pulled away, she was yearning for more but he only smirked as he pecked a kiss on her cheek.

" What are you reading?" She turned back to the large book on the podium, the pages open on some sort of two headed dragon. She reached back over and closed the book carefully, being mindful of the bindings so they didn't break.

" Nothing, just an old manual from about 1000 years ago, was it true, about the dragons that use to roam the lands?" She turned back around to face him, but his arms were still wrapped around her, but around her back now and she was pressed against the podium. She thought if anyone was to know about the history of Berk, it'd be a Haddock. His family was the reason everything on Berk was the way it was now, she wouldn't be surprised if the book behind her was written up by a Haddock.

" Of course, my ancestor Hiccup Haddock the first was the one to record this book," his hand moved from her waist to the book behind her, flicking to the very last page to where there was a signature - Hiccup Haddock I. " there were all kinds of dragons, some so huge they could destroy kingdoms, others as small as cats, apparently vikings on Berk use to ride them, dragons of all shapes and sizes, they use to conquer islands around them, it's why Berk is where it is today"

She smirked at his inner nerd coming out, when they went to his parents at Snoggletog she noticed the sketch books he kept from his younger years, thousands and thousands of drawings of Dragons. Her boyfriend was a nerd who had an obsession with dragons but she loved that about him, when he got into his little nerd mode and started to talk nonsense that other people would probably turn off too. But she enjoyed listening to him, she saw a spark in him when he was taking about something that interested him.

" you know it's sexy when you go all informative," she brought her arms up around his neck, " really sexy" she brushed a leg against his, rubbing it seductively causing his to jolt slightly.

" Err really?" He was always so nervous, Astrid could tell when he either rubbed the back of his neck or his cheeks went a rosy red.

" very!" She placed a quick kiss on his lips, pulling back before he could kiss her back, she was evil.

" I have something to tell you" she was contemplating whether or not to tell him about her job interview, but it was a weird feeling not telling him. " I have a job interview in a few days," of course she knew when she told him what his reaction would be, he was overjoyed for her, pulling her into a huge hug saying things like " that's amazing" but then there was the awkward silence of her not responding back.

" what's wrong!" He could see it in her eyes the hesitation to speak, and the fact that her eyes weren't even looking properly at him. " come on I thought you'd be thrilled!"

" I am, but-"

" but what?"

She could swear sometimes they way he looked at her he could read her like his favourite book - effortlessly. There was something in his eyes, the way he looked at her just put her in a trance to just open up.

" the interview is at Berks teen Magazine" and that's when his chuffed smile disappeared. Berks news has been on Hiccups back ever since the Valentines photo, and no matter how many times he claims the photo was taken on private land and its no one's business the damage is done. But Berks teen has been one of many that have really pissed him off with made up stories and gossip.

" oh, well that's great, this is a big opportunity, to become a photographer for a magazine company like Berks teen, you should be proud" and this is why she was so in love with him. As he cupped her chin and looked down at her with a smile, he didn't care about who she had the job interview with, he was still pleased with her achievement, no matter what.

But that's still didn't change the feeling she had within, this gut feeling that was saying this wasn't the path for her, it isn't the path for her. " I don't know, I never wanted to be one of those photographers. Photography is an art, capturing beautiful unseen moments. That's what I wanted to do." It was the passion in the way she spoke that captivated him. He loved her passion, her ambition, her drive to achieve in the path she loved. It's all he ever wanted for her, so he smiled, holding her face within his hands.

" then you do that - but first, it won't hurt to go to the interview, just to get an idea, if it still doesn't work out then you know what path you want to take" he was right, she hated that he was right, he knew she hated it when he was right. But there was that inner gut feeling she was having thinking it wouldn't be the end of the world. So she nodded, agreeing, plus while she was there she could do a little snooping of her own to see what BTM had planned for their latest topic - Hiccup Haddock.

Xx

She couldn't remember the last time she woke up this nervous. The last time she woke up in Hiccup's bed at least half this nervous was the first time she ever slept in it. Ever since then waking up with him in his room, his house, it just felt like home. This interview wasn't exactly a must get job but she couldn't help but get nervous. Looking round she saw Hiccup was still asleep, the clock next to her said 6:14, Hiccup's alarm goes off at 6:30. Usually she'd be the one to sleep in, unless she has plans for an early morning run, but today she was up earlier than ever, she put it down on nerves.

Her eyes focused on the new interview clothes she got yesterday, Hiccup insisted he pay for them, give her something to look forward to while going for this interview today. It was a sweet gesture since he knew she wasn't looking forward to today. Knowing she wasn't going to fall back to sleep for another 15 minutes she decided to get up, pulling the covers off and climbing out of bed. She never really thought much about walking around naked even before she met Hiccup, now it was like second nature, there was no embarrassment or shame, she just tiptoed across Hiccup's room into his bathroom to turn on the shower. She looked out of the open bathroom door to see her new clothes laid out neatly on Hiccups desk, and again she got that flutter.

She walked into the glass shower taking in the heat the two square ceiling showers provided. The hot water consumed her aching body, releasing all the trapped muscles and loosening her up for the stressful day she had ahead of her. She scrubbed her head with the sweet shampoo that smelled of watermelon, massaging her scalp with her fingers brought the stress out of her, it was only when another set of fingers replaced hers and she felt his chest against her back did she truly feel stress free.

" you should have woke me, you know I enjoy sharing showers" he kissed the back of her neck as the water ran down her spine, her breath was becoming hitched at the motion, breathing in the hot steam the shower produced. The weight of the flowing water hit her head fully rinsing away the soap from her scalp, when she felt her fingers leave her hair she took the opportunity to turn around, focusing on his eyes, those emerald eyes that seemed to undo her in a second, she felt vulnerable even when fully clothed when he looked at her like that. He looked as if he was searching for something, answers maybe to what was in her head, but to her he had already figured them out, she was open, exposed, inside and now out.

Her eyes seemed to wander, not that she could help it, the way the water fell on his head made him look shaggy, in a sexy way, the water droplets dripping down his naked chest glistened in the artificial light. He stepped closer to her causing her eyes to shoot back up to his. " something caught your eye?" His fingers were back on her skin, running his fingertips over her cheek, shoulders, down her forearm and to her hips, dragging her closer to him so that their hipbones were centimetres away from touching. " Maybe?" Suddenly Hiccup felt like he was back in uni again, in his young 20's nervous and excited all together. She had that effect him, made him question whether he was even good enough for her, she was pure at heart, good, too good. " definitely!"

He brought his head down to hers, placing their foreheads together, brushing their noses against each other until their lips crashed into each other as one, grasping onto one another's bodies with wanting grips, her fingernails clawed at his skin sending shockwaves through his body. He pushed her back into the dark tiled wall, pressing her back up against it hard. He pushed against her harder, but then she pulled away, " I need to get ready, I have that damn interview remember?"

She pulled away from him but he only dragged her back, trapping her between the wall and him, " I'm sure you can spare five minutes" he smirked at her, the cheek! He knew she couldn't say no to that smirk.

" Five minutes? Is that all?" She teased of course, it was in her nature to make him squirm as her hand gripped him hard. That was her consent after all.

" Okay fifteen" her growled into her ear, nibbling on her burning skin.

They both could agree, they couldn't wait for this 3rd year to be over.

xx

Terri prepared them porridge for breakfast, Hiccup with his strawberries and Astrid with her blueberries (brain food as she'd call it), ever since Astrid had been staying at his lately she had converted him into a healthy, hearty breakfast, lunch and dinner. No more pancakes unless on weekends or special occasions. Hiccup felt like he was already hitched, but he kinda liked it like that.

" Would you like some honey miss?" Hiccup got the honey out of the cupboards, offering it to Astrid before putting it on his breakfast himself.

" Yes thank you" as she watched her boyfriend pour the honey over her breakfast in swirls, Astrid couldn't help but feel weird this morning, she suddenly no longer felt like a guest in this house, it felt weirdly like home. Like only getting the realisation this morning. It was only when Hiccup was looking at her all confused did she realise she was in some sort of trance.

" Everything alright?" He asked as he closed the lid of the condiment so nothing spilt anywhere.

She nodded slowly, " I just love you, so much" the statement brought a smile to his face, kissing her softly, cupping her face with his hands, not caring if people stared.

" I love you too, now eat up, you got a big day remember" she had almost forgot, with their little shower randevu this morning and then carrying it on wrapped up in damp towels and their bed sheets, but she had that damn interview, one Hiccup kindly offered to drop her off at.

" You don't have to drop me off you know, in fact it might be better for me to get a bus" him dropping off a blonde near the magazine that wants to slam him down for dating a student wasn't smart in her eyes, but he disagreed. " Astrid we talked about this, you leaving this house out in the open is dangerous, I'll drop you off a block or two away from the building if necessary but you aren't getting a bus, no way! And what type of boyfriend would I be if i didn't take you to your very first interview, one that's not for a waitress anyway."

He had a huge point, one she hated to admit that she agreed with, and she kinda felt a flutter in her chest at the thought of him wanted to be apart of her future career wherever it may be. So she nodded, and smiled, which meant she agreed and gained a smile back from him to.

Driving to the city was always Hiccup's favourite part of the journey, he loved where he lived, in the middle of no where, no neighbours, no worries. He loved the long winding carriage way that was surrounded by trees and fields. They were coming up to the city outskirts, suddenly from being surrounded by oak trees and tranquility, there were rows and rows of family homes, children running to school, people walking their dogs.

Astrid sat up from her slouching on the car seat to look out of Hiccup's Car windows, she didn't have to worry about the outside world, his windows were tinted, know one could see in from outside, but she liked to watch the world go round. The kids holding mum and dads hands, people walking their dogs, young mum's pushing a buggy, the world just seemed to go on around her, and she liked to watch people living their lives.

Hiccup shot her a quick look as he drives into the city, she was smiling as she was looking out, gazing out as the world went on. He was sometimes worried she felt trapped in this relationship, but then remembered that keeping their relationship quiet was her idea in the first place. They only had about a month left, and then she would be finished with exams, but then there was the complication of her graduation in August, maybe they could hold off before making a big announcement, since he was going to be attending the graduation himself. He always attended the graduation ceremonies at Berk's University, shaking the hands of every lucky student who had finished their exams and was going into the world of employment. It was always a good time to talk to the interns who would be coming to work with him come September.

But at least he can move her in throughout the summer, spend the summer taking her out on proper dates this time. They could then work out when they were going to make a statement, cause that's what the people want, in December Heather had to make an official statement online to her followers that she was now official with Eret, her being a Berserker after all. It was even worse for Dagur, he was the eldest child of Oswald, he was going to inherit all his fathers fortune, just like Hiccup was, when he was getting married and the birth of Hroar the whole archipelago knew of it, there was photographers, news articles, social media updates. And it would double that when it came to the Haddocks.

Hiccup always remembered the story his parents would tell him about their wedding, but he only got the full version of how it was when he watched it on catch up tv. His parents wedding was broadcasted on live tv, on all possible channels like they were royalty. The same would be expected of him, but he had already made it clear that he wanted a quiet, calm wedding, intimate, that is if Astrid ever agreed to marry into his crazy family.

He pulled into a car park three blocks away from the building BTM were based in, " here you go, like I promised three blocks away" she looked at him with a small smile as she took her seat belt off, but she still looked uncomfortable. " look if you really don't want to do this then don't, you don't have to prove anything"

She showed no emotion, he couldn't read what she was thinking, only when she spoke her mind, " no I'm going to do it, it would be rude not to, I just have this inner feeling that no matter what they say in there it's not what I want to do. But I guess I just want that clarification" his hand came over hers, squeezing if reassuringly.

When the coast was clear she leaned over and kissed him sweetly for the lift, and then slipped out his car with such elegance. He waited for a minute or two before driving off himself, today was his day off but he still had to nip into his office, he had a personal errand to run regarding the missing files. He had a computer wiz from Haddock Industry look at the digital trail the missing files had left. According to him all deleted files had a trail, Conner was only a few years younger than him 25, he was one of Hiccups interns from three years ago, he was a wiz kid when it came to computers, if anyone can find where those files would have gone it was Conner.

Walking into his wing of the building Greta was sat at her desk sorting through the phone calls she had to make today, giving him a quick nod before focusing back on her call, Conner was already sat outside his office door on one of the sofas that were provided for people who maybe waiting for him. He had his laptop in his lap, focusing on what was on the screen.

" Mr Whitmore, I'm sorry to keep you waiting" the man with curly black hair shut the laptop quickly, brushing a stray curl behind his ear he pushed his laptop into his case and stood up quickly. " it's no problem sir, I wasn't waiting for long" Hiccup opened his office with a turn of a key, letting in Conner before he walked in behind him.

" oh good, so what do you have for me?" Conner made his way to the guest chair that was opposite to Hiccup's. He pulled his laptop out again and placed it on his side of the desk while his boss sat opposite to him.

" well I can't tell you exactly who deleted all the missing files but I can tell you the day the trail begins." Hiccup nodded, while pulling up some files his mother sent him about a breakthrough she thinks she has found. Apparently his mom didn't know an Ingrid Hofferson, but she did know an Ingrid Slater, Astrid's mother's maiden name. The name Hofferson was pretty much wiped from all records but the name Slater pops up quite a few times, including two tickets to Stockholm under the name Slater 29 years ago.

Back to Conner who whipped his laptop around so that Hiccup could see it. " So all records under the names Haddock, Hofferson and Meathead the files that I found to have been deleted are selections of each file, some more than others. Like take the Hofferson file it's completely wiped of about 30 - 40 years worth of history where as files like the Meathead and Haddock's only have a few documents missing. But what's really interesting was that they weren't all deleted on separate days, or separate times even -" he pointed to this graph with loads of dates, numbers, words which made Conner explain himself. " these files all went missing or in my case was removed, at the same time on the same day - August 21st 1992" that date stuck Hiccup hard as his eyes flicked over to his computer to see the manifest of the day the 'Slater's' got on the boat to leave. Friday 21st August 1992. It was all starting to link up, but yet still left questions in his mind. How was all three families connected with the two young Hofferson's leaving nearly 30 years ago? Did they have to leave for a reason? What did his family have to do with it? And how had this been kept a secret for 30 years and all it took was a single orphan girl to stir things up.

" is everything alright Mr Haddock?" Conner's question dragged Hiccup back to the real world, his face must have changed by the way Conner was looking all concerned.

" yes, yes thank you Conner, you've been so helpful, you may take your leave now." He had a few phone calls to make that he wished to do in private, and the young man respected that. With a single nod he packed his laptop away and went to get up to leave. " oh and Conner, I can't express enough how I would like to keep this as confidential as possible. This is a private matter and I've come to you with discretion on this matter" the young man only nodded, knowing his job could be on the line if information was to be leaked from him. Not wishing to outstay his welcome Conner left with not another word leaving Hiccup to make his calls.

Astrid walked back along the streets to the car park she knew where Hiccup was waiting. She spotted his car from a mile off. Texting him when the interview was over he said he'd pick her up where he dropped her off. The interview went alright, the lady who interviewed her was lovely, so smiley, but like she had the feeling before, this wasn't the job for her. Her portfolio was full of distorted landscapes and capturing moments of beauty, BTM wanted a hard face photographer who could get shots of local celebrities. Of course he boyfriends name was at the top of the list, the room they were sat in had hundreds of photos that had been taken over the years of Hiccup, his parents, Heather and her brother, people she had known through the Haddock's and local Olympians. When she declined the job the lady did seem displeased but said she understood and wished her well.

And with that said Astrid knew she wanted to follow her mother's dream that had now become hers, she wanted her own Photography studio and make her mother proud. She had money saved up from her benefactor, she was going to use that to set herself up.

She got to Hiccups car and slipped in before anyone could notice, once inside she didn't have to worry about people peeping in. " so how was the interview?"

" alright, but like I said before it only clarified that I want to follow my moms dream, my dream, to open up a photography studio, do my own thing" there was something bright and uplifting when he listened to her speak like that, it made him feel warm and proud.

" good, I'll support you in anyway I can," he kissed her cheek softly, " and in anyway you decide" meaning he knew she didn't want money or help in anyway a Haddock can provide, he meant he'd be her emotional support and be behind her wherever she goes.

" thank you, I love you" she kissed him on the lips this time gripping onto the collar of his shirt.

" well I certainly do hope so miss Hofferson" she giggled, he loved it when she laughed, it just set butterflies off in his stomach, he'd give anything to have her happy and smiling all the time. " I have some news on the missing files," until he mentioned that, and from being all smiley and happy her face turned all serious.

" oh?" The truth was that the information he had wasn't really usefull to them, in fact it just added more questions. He mentioned that his mother knew her mother by her maiden name Slater, but unfortunately they weren't close friends she just knew her from East Town and met her at gatherings and events. " I'm so stupid, I should have mentioned her maiden name, I just didn't think" with the name Slater the file was full of Astrid's family, however her mother was an only child and her grandparents died young. So once again she was disappointed to find she had no one.

" you're not alone Astrid, you have me, always" her head buried into the crook of his neck.

He almost forgot to mention that the day the files were intentionally deleted from records was the day her parents left for Stockholm. And like he predicted it just confused her more.

" but why? What does my parents have to do with three families, what happened? Was their crash not an accident after all? "He couldn't answer her questions even though he wished too, he wanted nothing more than to solve this mystery for her, but he was only giving her more questions.

Shopping was like therapy to Camicazi, feeling sad - shop, feeling happy - shop, and she had her eyes on a Mulberry bag for about a month now and today was the day she was going to get it. The West Town designer outlet was a hot spot for shoppers, it had all you'd ever want or need, Cami practically had nearly everything from here in her home, NEARLY, she wanted that bag, needed it for a little therapy from how busy she had been, it takes effort to hate your ex. There it was sat proudly in the window of Berks Mulberry shop, the Mulberry Iris Heavy Grain Leather Braided Edge Shoulder Bag, Chalk! She walked in and immediately made a beeline for it when a male figure stood in her way, she was about to give him a piece of her mind until she recognised his face.

" oh it's you" Thuggory! Probably wanted another hook up, but she was too busy to baby sit today, " out of my way Meathead, that bag has my name on it" she basically shoved him aside and grabbed the bag, but that didn't stop him from hovering.

" when were you going to tell me about how your ex is screwing my friend?" She immediately knew what he meant, however she had been expecting this, just not at the shopping outlet.

" I couldn't have been the one to tell you, you had to figure it out for yourself, and look at that you did, now leave me be" with the bag in her hands she eyes the till on the other side of the shop and started making her way over, but of course Thug being the lost little puppy he was followed her, actually stopping her in her tracks just to gain her attention.

" why couldn't you tell me, I thought we were mates, with benefits" a smirk appeared on her face only slightly before going back to being annoyed and pissed off.

" we are! Idiot. I just have an agreement with the Haddock's one that if I break could risk me my reputation" she tried to walk past him but yet again he stood his ground. " you still taking your meds?"

Five years ago she was diagnosed with Psychosis, for her delusions of believing she was pregnant, though Hiccup and his family didn't believe that, she had been having hallucinations of visiting doctors and baby scans. Mentally disturbed if you asked some people. Her mother used this to bargain with the Haddock's, she went on medication of antipsychotic and if she kept up with that and kept her distance from Hiccup they wouldn't leak the fake pregnancy to anyone. Of course no one else in her family knew about it, her mother made it clear it was disturbing and she didn't want anyone to know about it. Thug however found the pills in her draw, when questioned Cami kicked off and threw him out of her house. But everyone knows what antipsychotic medication was for, the clue was in the name.

" are you still taking your medication?" She hinted to when he did cocaine on her kitchen table not long back, his erratic behaviour was becoming more noticeable, and when question he just seemed to kick off.

" oh fuck off Cami!"

" gladly!" Again she pushed past him straight to the counter, she could feel his eyes burning a hole in the back of her head as she bought her bag, watching it get wrapped up in tissue paper.

Cami liked to work alone, her plan for the Haddock's was hers to play out for herself, however the blonde bitch was starting to piss her off. So why have a dog and bark yourself, she had a perfectly raging dog right behind her, ready to snap with the click of her fingers. She turned and saw his face, he was seething and maybe that's what she needed.
