Chapter 1: Running in the Boiling rain

Author's note:

I know what you are gonna say… another new story, what are you inconsistent. Well yes I am. Right now I am overloaded with stories to tell so this one is just one I'm doing for fun. It is a crossover with characters from other properties like anime, castlevania, and some of my own creation. I hope you enjoy it… this is an oc x harem fanfic but don't worry the oc is 18 and the harem is all 18+ women with no lolli's… because when I do owl house harem fanfic… I have a little more standards then the average harem writer… not that much though… he he (tugs collar)

In the boiling rain Luca Nocenda ran with his sister on his back.

The boy winced as another acidic droplet hit his face. His dark skin was covered in welts and burns from the scolding downpour but he dare not stop… lest the red woman.

The boy hastened his pace darting between the gnarled trees shrouded in darkness, their warped branches like bony hands grasping for him.

The thunderous crack of lightning startled the boy, that, mixed with the weight of carrying his sister, made Luca trip into the blackened mud. He lie prone on the ground gasping for air as more rain drops sizzled on his exposed flesh.

"I… I must… get… to… safety. Can't let her catch me." Luca stood up, barely able to stay on his own two feet in the slippery mud. The boy took off his shirt exposing his lithe frame. He wrapped the article of clothing around his sisters head leaving her nose and mouth exposed.

Luca placed Luz back on his shoulders then started another dash into the dark woods.

His vision clouded, his breathing shallow Luca pushed on despite the pain of the insidious weather. The wind howled like a vicious predator. Luca ignored the chill that covered his body.

Just as Luca was about to give up hope and accept his fate he saw in the distance a glimmer of light.

"A… house? A house! Lulu… we're going to be okay." Luca said to his unconscious sister. "Don't worry Lulu, I'm going to save you." Luca Bolted with a renewed vigor and managed to reach the edge of the woods.

The closer he got to the lights source the more of the building he saw. It was a huge mansion on the top of a hill overlooking the ocean. Luca's stomach growled adding to his discomfort.

Luca stumbled as he reached the gates of the extravagant estate. He kneeled down to rest for only a moment.

"Please! Someone! Help us!" he exclaimed, his lungs burning and his eyes heavy.

No answer came from the huge house.

Luca tried once again to rise but this time exhaustion caught up with him As he fell down.

"Lulu, mom, I'm sorry… I couldn't." He said, the burning pain began to numb.

A flash of light from the distance caught the teens fading eyes.

"please… my sister needs… help." Luca passed out before he could see the figures face as he fell into unconsciousness.

The tension at the Nocenda family dinner table could've been cut with a knife.

Luz Nocenda, dressed in a pretty green dress picked at her food with a bored expression.

Camilla Nocenda, the mother of the household, Stabbed at her dinner with a tense thrust.

Luca Nocenda dressed in a white dress shirt, black pants, and brown hair neatly cut sat between the two. He enjoyed the steaks that were made for dinner.

"Luz, we need to start packing for summer camp today. You leave tomorrow after all." Camilla said without looking up from her dinner.

"I still don't see why I have to do this." Luz said, a defiant edge in her voice.

"Because mija, your imagination has gotten out of hand. You almost killed the principal with your last fiasco, remember?"

"That was An accident!" Luz exclaimed, rising from her table and slamming her hands on the hardwood. "How was I suppose to know the snake would bite him?"

"Because you should know that a wild animal has no place being at school." Camilla replied, her eyes glaring.

"You never take my side. You only want me to be 'normal'" Luz said, raising her voice higher.

"Watch your tone young lady. I am doing this for your benefit. Do you have any friends that aren't made up or reptillian? understand?"

"But–"

"Luz, end of discussion. Now go upstairs and get ready for bed." Camilla demanded.

Luz's eyes began to tear up as she clenched her fists. "I hate you." she said under her breath.

"What was that?" Camilla asked.

"I said I hate you! I wish I was with a family who accepted me for who I am!" Luz stormed from the room and ran up the stairs.

"Luz, you come down here and apologize this instant. Luz!" Camilla exclaimed. She leand back in her chair and sighed. "What am I going to do with that girl?"

"It will be okay mom, once we get back from camp I'm sure she'll be fine." Luca said placing his hand over his mother's.

"You were never this hard to talk to Luca." Camilla said with a smile.

"I guess, except when you tried to get me to eat my vegetables… then I was worse." Luca said, laughing a little.

Camilla did as well.

"Don't worry mom I'll talk with Luz." Luca said, rising from the dinner table. "Am I excused?"

Camilla smiled at her son "Of course sweetie. Love you."

"I know mom." Luca said embarrassed.

"Aren't you gonna say it back?" Camilla asked.

"I mean, I- why do I need to say it back. You already know that I do." Luca asked, his face getting red.

"I mean it would be nice to hear it every once and awhile." Camilla said pouting.

"I love you mom." Luca said, trying to avoid meeting his mother's eye.

"be sure to get lots of sleep. The bus will be here at 10 am sharp. Goodnight sweetie." Camilla called as Luca made his way to Luz's room.

Luca knocked on his sisters door.

"Go away!" Luz yelled from behind the door, her screams muffled by the barrier.

"It's Luca. Can I please come in?"

"Why, so you can yell at me too?"

"No Luz, please, just let me in."

Luca heard the door's lock being undone and when it opened Luz peeked out.

"Promise, you're not gonna yell?"

"of course, Lulu." Luca said with a smile.

Luz opened the door and let Luca in.

"Now I know you're upset, but you gotta understand. Mom is just doing what's best."

"best for her maybe. I don't want to be normal, I want to be who I am."

"Luz, I know you like being an individual. But you aren't exactly popular in school. Remember when I had to get the bullies to stop from picking on you?"

"But, I just want to be me. Why can't people accept me for who I am." Luz said collapsing face first on her bed.

Luca ran his hand down his sister's back. "Lulu, I know it's hard. But people just aren't ready for someone as unique as you. That doesn't mean you are wrong."

"Mom seems to think so." Luz said, her voice muffled by the cover.

"Mom just wants you to have friends. I know it seems like she doesn't like who you are, but it's not that simple." Luca was failing to find the correct words.

"Luca, do you think I'm a freak." Luz said, close to tears.

Luca bent down next to her. "of course not Lulu, you're one of the best sisters any brother could ask for. I knew you would be special the day mom brought you home."

Luz shot up and wrapped Luca in a hug. "Thank you Luca."

Luca patted her back and smiled. "anytime Lulu."

A knock on the door echoed throughout the house.

"Wonder who that could be?" Luca asked, lifting luz off the bed. "Now, I would like for you to apologize to mom and get packed. We have a long bus ride tomorrow."

"Thank you Luca, for coming with you even though you didn't have to."

"You think I'd let mom send you to some boring summer camp and not be there to help you? Luz, I don't know how to tell you this… but you're stuck with me."

Luz giggled at Her brothers joke when a crash downstairs shook the whole house.

"what was that?" Luz asked.

"I don't know, but I'm going to find out." Luca was about to walk out of Luz's room but felt her grab his arm.

"I'm going with you." Luz said, her eyes showing true terror.

"It's too dangerous. You stay here and lock the door." Luca ordered, this wasn't a bad neighborhood but the boy knew breaking and entering could happen anywhere.

"No, I'm coming with you luca. End of discussion." Luz said her eyes filled with determination.

"Fine Luz. Just stay behind me." Luca lead the way out of Luz's room. They walked past the framed photos of the Nocenda family moments filling Luca with dread as to what may have happened.

When Luca came to the top of the stairs. He looked down and saw His mother laying flat on her face. "Mom!" Luca rushed down the stairs and began trying to shake her awake.

Luz followed him down and saw mom lying down, the girl started to quiver. "is she… dead?"

"Call an ambulance Luz, hurry!" Luca said holding hs mothers hand "Mami, please hang on."

Luz turned to grab the phone but froze in place. "Uh Luca?"

"What is it Lu–" Standing between Luz and the phone was a woman she was almost six feet tall with hair a burning scarlet red. The woman was dressed in breastplate armor like a knight would wear and wielded a sword that was almost a whole three feet long. "who is that?"

"Run!" Luz exclaimed charging away from The woman and grabbing Luca's hand.

The two humans darted past their dining room and ran into their kitchen where the backdoor was waiting for them.

Luz ran to the door and her eyes grew wide when she saw that all three locks had been latched.

Before Luz could open the door the woman entered the kitchen. She had a weird smile on her face and her eyes gleamed with dark intent as they focused on Luca.

"Luca Nocenda, it's a pleasure to finally meet you." She said, her voice straightforward and orderly.

"Who are you? How do you know who I am?" Luca said his voice trembling.

"Let's just say I'm a big fan. Now come here… I won't hurt you." She said, licking her lips.

"If you're not gonna hurt me? Then why have you come here and attacked my mother?"

Luz meanwhile had undone the first latch and was working on the second.

"Oh Luca, you have no idea how important you are, and now that you are an adult, we can show you. Looking at you dressed so nice is doing things to me I never expected." She said, blushing as she grabbed her face. "Oh please come here, I want to feel your lips on mine."

The second lock was undone all that was left was the door lock.

"Y-you're crazy! I would never kiss you." Luca exclaimed.

"If you won't accept me then I'll force you to love me." The red woman dashed toward Luca, sword raised.

The boy raised his hands in futile defense when a huge crash resounded.

Luca opened his eyes and saw his mother with pointed ears and yellow eyes attack the red woman wielding a staff with a caduceus on it.

Luca's mother kicked the woman away from her children.

"M-mom?" Luca was shaking.

"run!" She commanded.

"what about you?" Luca asked.

"I'll be fine. Take this." She reached into her pocket and pulled out a key with an eye carved on the end of it. "take this to the cabin in the middle of the woods and when you get there click it, then when you arrive at the boiling isles go find Eda Clawthorne she'll help you."

"but mom–"

Camilla threw the key to her Daugther and said, "Now run mija, take your brother with you and don't look back I'll find you when it's safe."

The red woman began to stir.

"Luca, Let's go." Luz grabbed her brothers hand and the two ran out the backdoor. Luz opened the gate and the two humans rushed into the woods behind their house.

The leaves on the trees softly rustled from the calm breeze. The night made the woods eerily serene. The two humans were half way to the middle when they came upon a clearing.

"Who was that woman? What did she want with you?" Luz asked hunched over gasping for air.

"I don't know… but how was mom holding up against her." Luca replied, also out of breath.

"Oh look Striga, our prey has come to us." A female voice echoed in both of the humans head.

"Whose there. Show yourself!" Luca yelled into the woods.

"As you wish." the voice replied with a strong accent.

In front of the two humans were a swarm of bats… two swarms of bats. The bats began to consolidate and out of them came two woman. One dark skinned dressed in a medieval diplomats outfit of blue and gold. Beside her was a woman with pale skin and dark hair dressed in a soldiers uniform of the same era.

"V-vampires! I thought they didn't exist." Luz replied, shaking.

"Oh child, if you only knew what does to exist." The dark skinned woman said.

"Luz run!" Luca said grabbing his sisters hand and charging the other direction.

Once again they were cut off by a woman with reddish orange hair dressed in a noble woman's suit from same era as the others. She was more endowed then the others as Luca landed face first into her chest and fell down trying to step back.

"Oh he's cuter then she said he would be… can I have first taste please." The girl picked Luca up and cupped his face with her hands and looking him in his eyes. "You're going to make such a handsome vampire and you'll be the perfect husband to me… I mean us."

"Lenore, must you be so forward with our promised?" a fourth voice said and out of another swarm of bats came a woman with white skin and hair, a red and gold dress covering her thin body. "And no, you cannot have the first taste… that honor belongs to me." the woman turned her eyes to Luca and smiled the same way the woman with red hair did. "And remember she told us to bring him to her unharmed."

Lenore pouted and looked away from the woman. "You're no fun Carmilla. At least let me get a kiss from him." She said looking down.

"Remember what she said, we can ask for his affection but we can't take it." the dark skinned vampire replied.

Lenore blew a raspberry at her.

"And what of the girl? Did she say what was to happen to her?" The dark skinned vampire asked liking her lips at Luz. "Because if not, I'm hungry and she has a sweet scent emanating from her. I might even turn her so she can serve me and our husband as our little maid."

"She's all yours. She said that the mom and daugther are ours to do with as we please." Carmilla replied, with a wicked grin.

"No, Luz. Leave her alone!" Luca exclaimed but was pulled into Lenore's chest muffling his pleas. He tried to pull away and push Lenore off him, but she was stronger and she held him tight.

"Ssshhh, just hold on to me nice and tight, it will be over quickly." Lenore began running her fingers through Luca's hair and singing him a lullaby.

Luca could hear his sister trying to run and the malicious cackles of the dark skinned vampire.

"Now my dear, it's dinner time." The dark skinned vampire said, reveling in Luz's screeches of fear.

"Careful Morena, she seems to have a little fight in her." Striga said in a thick slavic accent.

"Get away from my daughter!" a voice screamed.

"Mom!" Luz exclaimed.

"You whore! How dare you get in the way of my feeding." the morena replied.

"You! Release my son or perish… your choice." Camilla said pointing her staff at lenore.

The pale woman chuckled her chest bouncing as she did. "You think you can frighten me? There is four of us and only one big. Fat. You."

"Have it your way." Camilla shot forward and punched Lenore in the nose drawing blood. The vampire released her hold on Luca and he ran behind his mother.

"Luca, grab your sister and run, I'll be right behind you." Camilla ordered watching the four vampire women glare at her.

Luca ran to his sister and picked her up. "Lulu come on. We have to go."

The two humans ran to the woods.

"Striga don't let them get away. Grab the boy and kill the girl." Carmilla ordered pointing at the fleeing humans.

"Very well." The big vampire charged forward to the humans but a wall of flames cut off her pursuit.

"Well looks like we'll have to deal with this bitch first." Carmilla growled. "attack!"

Meanwhile Luca and Luz came to a small shack long abandoned by it's inhabitants. The siblings were out of breath as they reached their goals.

"So… what… do… we… do… now?" Luz asked between each breath.

"We wait for mom… then we press the key." Luca said, leaning against a stump.

"Leaving so soon, darling? But we haven't even had our first date yet." the voice of the woman with red hair said in the distance.

Luca could see her stomping through the forest, her form enshrouded in shadow and her blade glistening in the moonlight.

Luca rose and took trembling steps away from her.

"S-stay away from me… or my m-mom will…" he said his voice shaky.

"She is busy with the Styria sisters and that means you are all mine." the woman said her crimson hair shining and her eyes still held the dark intent that Luca saw in the kitchen of his house.

"W-what d-do you w-want. Why can't you leave us alone!?" Luca exclaimed, his back hitting the wall of the abandoned shack.

"I want you… and only you." She said looking at Luz. "though if you come quietly I'll let you keep your sister… as a pet." she said with a smile.

Luz glared at the woman and reached her hand for a nearby branch.

"Stay away from my brother!" Luz grabbed a rock and threw it at the woman who caught it easily. Luz grabbed a branch and began to swing it at her. The branch broke against the metal armor.

The woman grabbed Luz's hand and did a small chop to her spine knocking her out. "What a troublesome little harlot." She snided. "What would be an appropriate punishment?"

"Please spare her. I'll go with you… just stop." Luca begged.

"I'm afraid that is impossible darling. I can't let someone who strikes me live. I'm sorry but she has to die… I'll make it up to you, I promise." she then pulled something out of the bag on her waist. "this is perfect." She said revealing a small vial filled with black tar like substance.

She popped out the cork as Luz was beginning to stir. "Now little harlot, I think It's time for you to perish." the woman poured the liquid on Luz.

The black tar seeped into Luz's flesh making her scream in terror. She writhed in agony her screams of anguish echoing in the forest. Her body twisted and contorted until finally going limp.

"So weak, you really should have come to me when I first asked." the red woman said smiling with the look in her eyes.

Meanwhile Luca cried, for his little sister may be dead.

"Oh, darling, please don't cry. It's going to be okay. I'm here to protect you." she stepped toward the saddened boy and was about to place her hand behind his head and pull him close but before she could, a blast hit her square in the chest sending her flying back.

"Luca! Take the key and run! Go find eda and tell her the day unity is upon us. Now go." Camilla commanded, flying toward the warrior woman.

"I'm not going to let you take what's mine, bitch." The red woman surged forward rain started to fall as the storm intensified.

Luca ran to his sister and felt her pulse it was weak but still there. He picked Luz up and grabbed the key from the mud. Luca pressed the eye button on the key and a door opened with the same eye on it.

"Mom hurry!" Luca ran to the other side of door holding it open for his mom to come through.

"Luca close the door. Go! Now!" Camilla said yelling at Luca and did not see the red woman surge forward and stab her in the gut.

Camilla let out a gasp as the blade twisted inside her.

"Mom!"

"Take care of Luz… mijo." Camilla's eyes closed and she fell limp

before the red haired woman could turn her head a bolt of lightning struck the door and set it ablaze knocking Luz and Luca on the other side. The door burned to ash becoming smoldering tinder on the cold ground.

Luca took a look at his surroundings. The area was a forest just like where they left except this one was darker and the moon was brand new making the woods pitch black with little in the way of light. The rain clouds began to gather and Luca fell to his knees.

The boy struck the ground with an unbridled rage. His grunts a defiant act of aggression. Once he had met too much resistance from ground the tears began to flow.

The rolling thunder overhead gave way to a shower of rain.

Luca let out a mournful cry for his mother and his screams were drowned out by the storms thunderous song.

Luca felt the rain drops burn him and he looked to his sister asleep in the mud.

With broken heart Luca stumbled to Luz. His legs like noodles, his back brittle. He placed his sister over his shoulder ran into the darkness not knowing where he was going only with one goal in mind.

I have to save Luz. I have to get away… from the woman who murdered my mother.
