"Fuck me. I didn't think you would stoop so low to -
"I don't think he's lying Nick." Wes said quietly while he turned his head to face Nick.
You could hear a pin drop in the room it was that silent. Nick turned away from Wes with a confused look and then his gazed upon Kurt laying beneath him. Nicks eyes softened as he stared at Kurt. His eyes was glazed over like he was in a trace. He body was limp like he had just given up.
"What do you mean he's dead Kurt." Wes whispered. They couldn't believe their eyes. Surely this was a joke right?
"You know what dead is right? It's when your heart stops bea-
"When?" It was Blaine that asked. Kurt felt his body stiffen up. It was the first time he had acknowledged his presence and it had to be when they found out about his dad.
"When Kurt." It was Blaine again, he said it more sternly. He was demanding answers. Kurt could hear the upset in his voice. He knew Blaine and his father had a good bond. He felt guilty for not letting them know of his fathers passing.
"Two months after I left Dalton."
Silence fell again. They was all tying to rack their brains around it. It didn't feel real.
"How?" Blaine spoke again he voice becoming more demanding, but it was soft and concerning. Kurt swallowed hard and his mouth became dry.
"Heart attack."
"Why.. why didn't you tell us baby? We could have been there for you." Jeff said softly.
"Yeah right. Like you was all going to be there for me."
Kurt was right they all knew that. Why would he tell them? He had no contact at all. He cut all ties. Why would he tell them about his dad passing?
"God I'm so sorry pétale.. I didn't realise. I promise you I wouldn't have pushed if I knew."
David felt terrible. He knew it wasn't his fault. He didn't know but that didn't make him feel any less guilty. David looked over to Wes who was still looking at Kurt.
"Ah it's all good chérie. We can't change the past now can we? Now can you both please fucking let go of me, you're breaking my shoulders." Kurt voiced with no emotion. Wes and Nick slowly let go and Kurt got off the floor, Nick put a hand out to support Kurt but he flinched away and pushed Nick back. Nick didn't respond, he let him. He didn't know what to say. He was in shock. Mr Alexander stepped forward towards Kurt.
"I am truly sorry for your loss. I had no idea Kurt. If I knew I would of tried to help in anyway I can." Mr Alexender felt truly saddened by Burt Hummel's passing. He was a great man who had raised a magnificent young man. Kurt nodded.
"I would appreciate it if you could all just… go." Kurt said to the room full of men. I'm not going to fucking cry in front of them he thought to himself.
"You know where my door is Kurt. Please come and see me and please go to the nurses office and get your hand checked out." Mr Alexander left first. Keeping his word. Nick nodded, his eyes never leaving Kurt and he left. Wes followed suit after a light squeeze on his shoulder. It had shocked both Wes and Kurt. Jeff was next, but before he left he walked over and kissed him on the edge of his lips and mouthed 'I love you'. David apologised again another two times before leaving and then there was only Blaine left. Kurt wouldn't meet his eyes and he kept them on the floor, hoping the ground would open up and swallow him whole. They stood there facing each other before Kurt finally raised his eyes to meet his. His golden honey eyes, he felt like he had gotten lost in them many of times before. He couldn't hold the gaze for long before he dropped his head back down again. Blaine was hesitant at first but he slowly walked forward so that they was a few inches apart. Kurt could smell him, his cologne. It smelled like home. The smell was making him dizzy.
"Look at me."
Kurt tilted his head looking at the floor. He squeezed his eyes shut. The tears began to well in his eyes. Please walk away Blaine, please.
But he didn't. Instead he closed the remainder of the gap between then and wrapped his arms round Kurt's waist. They both tensed, it was an unusual feeling but I felt right.
"I'm doing this because you're hurting and you need it. We both needit." Blaine whispered in his ear. He then leaned in closer, Kurt could feel his breath tickling his ear and he gasped quietly, his nose soaked in the smell of Blaine and he didn't want the feeling to end. Kurt fingertips crawled slowly up Blaine's arms indecisively and then he pulled back a little and looked at the man. Blaine closed his eyes, the feeling of Kurt touching him was electric, like tiny little needles every time one is his fingertips danced up his arm. Blaine could feel Kurt's hot breath ghosting across his lips. He was so close. He opened his eyes to see the pale boys ocean blue eyes staring back at him. Kurt licked his lips and then Blaine spoke, he was so close they was so close to kissing.
"So let me hold you for a few minutes and then I'm going to walk away okay?"
Kurt looked away to his left and single tear fell from his eye. Why was he doing this? He hates me.
It broke Blaine's heart even now to see him cry. He couldn't help himself, he lifted up his hand and brushed away the tear, caressing his cheek slowly. He felt Kurt breath hitched. Kurt felt numb. His hand on his face felt like it was on fire. He nodded slowly and turned towards Blaine. He wrapped his arms quickly around his shoulders, finally accepting the embrace. They stood there for five minutes soaking each other up. After two minutes Blaine relaxed and Kurt tangled his fingers through his hair. It was to much, the feeling was to much.
Blaine was fighting with himself. The memory of Kurt and Sebastian burnt a hole in his brain and he pulled away quickly. Kurt sensed it and stepped back nearly falling over the bedside table. Blaine shook his head and started to walk backwards. Why did he do that? It was to soon
"You need to go and get your hand checked. I can smell the blood."
Kurt looked down to his hand, the bleeding had stopped but he had a nasty gash to his left palm. He looked up and realised that Blaine had already gone.
They were all sat in the common room. Nick, Wes, David and Jeff. They had heard the sweet interaction between Blaine and Kurt. The way Kurt gasped when Blaine whispered in his ear, the way Blaine had cared for Kurt even though it was breaking him. It was beautiful, special even. It took a lot for Blaine to do that but that was the kind of person he was. They heard the common room door open and Blaine stepped though, he looked like he had been crying. Nick quickly stood and made his way towards Blaine and giving him a supportive hug. Jeff came over too joining in on the embrace and then whispered in his ear.
"I'm so proud of you."
Blaine felt proud of himself too. He knew he had to do it, for them both.
"I still can't believe Mr Hummel is gone." David said out loud. The others turned towards him and nodding in agreement.
"That must have been rough on him." Wes muttered low as he drank from an O neg.
"I wish I could have been there for him."
"Honey, he didn't want us there. All them times you turned to at the house and you got turned away." Nick said to his boyfriend and placed a soft kiss to him lips.
"I know I know. I just wish I would have known. I should of known something was up. Carol was so distant. I mean she wasn't rude or anything she just looked.. lost."
"I'm glad Finn was there for him. They seem pretty close now."
"Yeah Blaine, I'm glad too." Jeff replied to Blaine with a sad smile on his face.
Kurt was still stood in the same spot as before. His hand came up to his face and he breathed in deeply. He touched the place where Blaine did, remembering the touch as if it was happening right at that moment. God, why did he have to be so kind? He started to notice the stinging sensation from his palm and he looked down. He really needed to go and get it check out.
Thirty five minutes later Kurt had just finished with the schools Nurse. Miss Clancy. She was in her mid forties and was extremely bubbly. He really got on with her, she was the school's nurse when he attended Dalton previously. She was human just like Mr Alexander but they held the shared secret of Vampires roaming the school. Twenty two years she had be hired now at Dalton and she loved every minute of it. They made sure conversation while she was mending his hand and she could sense the tension and didn't pry. She was great like that. Kurt walked out of the office and turned right and was going to make his way back to his room when he heard his phone ring. He smiled at the photo of the two of them. It had been taken on a weekend Kurt had returned home. They was both standing in the kitchen and they had just finished baking cupcakes. Kurt had both of his arms wrapped round her on her side and she had one of her arm wrapped round his shoulder and the other was his his face. She had her head thrown back lightly most likely laughing at something Kurt said. Kurt was full of joy and excitement. He really loved that woman. Kurt smiled sweetly before sliding the answer call and holding the phone up to his ear.
Oh my sweet boy! How are you! I've missed you so much!
"Hey Carol! I'm good. I've missed you so much too!"
I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for your move in day my Kurt.. Jennifer.. she's taken a bad turn.
"I'm so sorry Carol, I wish I could make things easier for you."
You and me both dear
Kurt carried on walking and talking in the phone.
How is it Kurt? Are they talking to you? There not upsetting my boy are they? Do they know I'll have to resort to violence if they start singling you out right?
Kurt shook is head with a small laugh and replied. "It's hard Carol but I'm a big boy, I can deal with it."
Of course you can deal with it, fathers son and all
Kurt could hear the sadness in voice. God she loved that man with all her heart
"Hummel's never back down right?"
Always Sweetie. Have you been looking after yourself Kurt?
"Carol I don't think we should be talking about this on the phone."
I'm not getting off the phone until you answer me Kurt Hummel. Kurt rolled his eyes
Are you talking your medication?! Kurt sighed.
"Yes."
Are you eating enough?
"Yes."
You're not… you're not cutting-
"No I'm good Carol. I… no not at all."
Maybe I should drive down and see-
"No honestly Carol, I'm fine I promise you."
There was a few second pause before Carol continued her interrogation.
Promise me Kurt. Promise me you're not hurting yourself. I can't.. I don't know what i would do if I lost a son too
Lost a son. She had always said that she never thought of Kurt as extended family, he was always apart of it. She had never openly called him her son. She didn't want to disrespect Lizzie, Kurt's mother. Carol had been in his life a fantastic four years and he had never ever seen his dad more in love. She was his mom but his second mom and he didn't think his mother would mind it after everything Carol had done for him dad and him. He needed to say it. It was time he said it.
"I promise you I'm not hurting myself Carol, I would be to tired to even lift my hand up to my wrists, it's an effort as it is to hold the phone up to you."
Kurt if you say anything like that one m-
"I love you mom."
He could hear Carol's smile as she talked next. He could hear the happiness in her voice.
I love you more my son
It felt right. It didn't feel foreign at all. He grinned wildly before opening his door to his bedroom and shutting it gently behind him. He turned round and jumped slightly, he didn't realise someone was sitting on his bed waiting for him to return. It was Blaine.
Sweetie is everything okay?
"Yes.. yeah I just need to go now. I'll call you later?"
You better had Kurt. I love you.
I love you too
The line cut dead and he cancelled the call and placed his phone next to the table next to him.
"How's your hand?" Blaine asked quickly, avoiding eye contact. Blaine had heard the conversation to Carol. His insides turned. He was hurting himself? Medication? He quickly scanned him over but he was wearing a watch. He recognised it, it was Burt's. It hung onto his right wrist which was confusing. He needed to talk him but he didn't want him flipping again and hurting himself anymore than he has. He was going to find out but not right now and for now, he would just watch over him.
"It's fine, Nurse Clancy does wonders." Kurt lifted up his hand and wiggled his fingers slightly. Blaine nodded before standing up and making his way out the room. Before Kurt knew what he was doing he put his arm out blocking Blaine in his way. One arm gently curled rounds Blaine's stomach and he leaned inclose, placing his forehead on his shoulder.
"Thank you."
Kurt pulled away and bit his lip nervously before moving to sit on his bed. He didn't know why he did that. He looked over and seen Blaine still standing there.
"I'm so.. fuck. That was out of line. I'm sorry Blaine." Kurt's voice sounded like it was bouncing off every wall. "I'm just.. seeing you. I'm falling into habits." Blaine nodded.
"I've just really mis-
"Please don't finish that sentence. Please Kurt. You don't have the right." Blaine interrupted. There was no way he was going to allow himself to hear that.
"I know, I'm sorry."
Blaine just left. It was the first time he had heard Kurt be so sincere.
Jeff was laying in his bed sprawled out, his eyes was closed but he felt his boyfriend's gaze on him. A few moments later he felt his boyfriends weight climb into the bed. Jeff turned to his side so he could see his face.
"I know how hard that was for you knowing your feeling towards Kurt are so strained." Jeff whispered softly and he placed a hand on top of his.
"I would say I did it for you, I did it for Blaine but in that moment Jeff I did it for him."
"I know sweetheart, I know."
Jeff knew Nick meant what he said to Kurt. He could always tell when his boyfriend was lying, he didn't say that to just help him, he said it because he meant every word.
"Did you hear his phone call with Carol." Nick questioned. He knew what Carol went to say and it shocked him. They silently finished the conversation in their heads and then Jeff nodded.
You're not cutting again are you?
I don't know what I would do if I lost my son too
The words rung through all the vampires ears. They knew how close Burt was with his son. The bond was unbreakable, they told each other everything and even when Kurt found out about their lifestyle, he told his dad – confided in him.
"Nick?"
"Yes my love?"
"Do you think he would.. he would actually hurt himself?"
"I think he has. You heard Carol, she wasn't just asking him casually."
Jeff nodded and turned away towards the ceiling. His friend was hurting himself or had hurt himself and he wasn't there to help him.
"He wears a watch on his right wrist which I thought was strange. He's only ever wore a watch on his left. Maybe he'a didn't mistakenly put it in the wrong wrist Jeff? Maybe he's hiding something."
"That was intense."
David waited for the breakdown but it never came. No tears fell from that man's face, not once. He wondered how Kurt kept it together Maybe he had no tears left to cry.. Maybe he thought that anger would be better than showing us the tears?
"There was a million things running through my mind, I just didn't expect that to be any one of them. To be honest with you David, I felt really sorry for him."
David placed a hand on Wes's shoulder to comfort him, his words struggling to come out.
"You didn't see his face when he said it David. You might of heard it, but you didn't see it." Wes sighed loudly collecting his thoughts and feelings.
"My little fleur is hurting." David looked down. There nicknames for each other had caught on pretty quickly. Flower and petal he used often. There joke ended being the one thing that comforted them both.
"You need to save him, we all do. I don't want to be there when that last petal falls."
Blaine walked over to his bed and kneeled down and reaching under it and retrieving a large box. He placed his hands gently other the lid and pulled it away. It was full of their whole relationship. Tickets from their first date to the movies, photos, recipes, jewellery. He swallowed and fished through his memories until he came across a small box. He pulled it out and opened the clasp. It was a ring. It was small and delicate. It was shaped in the Anderson crest. It was a daylight ring. Kurt's daylight ring. It had imbedded silver that traveled around the crest and it was absolutely beautiful. It was masculine but feminine, Kurt adored it and he treasured it. Instead of it giving the ability for a vampire to walk out in daylight, it gave the ability for a human to expel compulsion. Meaning no vampire could ever take there or change Kurt mind, his whole time he knew everything was he choice. He made a joke saying he didn't feel apart of the click Blaine rolled his eyes so the guys got it handcrafted for him. It was also his ring for when he decided to turn. If he turned. After what happened that afternoon, he knew the right call was to give it back. He wanted Kurt to have a choice.
Carols words rang through his head. He needed to know what his time was like after he left. He needed to know why. He never got an explanation.
Kurt had asked to be alone so that's exactly what they was going to do. They was going to give him tonight. It had been seven hours since they saw him. Jeff had called in a few, they had ordered takeout and Jeff knocked multiple times with it to try and get Kurt to eat something but he asked to be left to himself tonight. With them hearing about the conversation with Carol over his eating habits, they wanted to make sure they at least offered him.
Kurt was laying on his bed looking at the ceiling, he hadn't moved for the past two. Just laying there staring into space. He couldn't believe he had lost it today. So much for the act. He felt relieved they knew. It felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He still needed to be strong for his own sake. He felt his phone vibrate, it lit the room up like fireworks. He squinted harshly and groaned. Fuck. Why did it have to be so fucking bright? He clumsily picked it up and opened up his messages.

I heard you're finally back at Dalton. Remember Bambi, our arrangements.
Sebastian. Sebastian Smythe. Kurt had forgot. He wanted to curl up and die. Another untold secret that he's kept to himself for a year. Kurt threw his phone across the room in frustration. Knowing he was going to hurt them all over again was going to kill him and them. He quickly got out of bed and stumbled to the bathroom. He turned the tap on with a shaky hand and swilled his face. His hands flew to the sink for support and he inhaled. He didn't realise the other side of the door was open leading to Blaine's room.
Blaine heard the bathroom door swing open and he looked up. He watched Kurt silently, he could see he looked panicked stricken and it worried him. A sickly pale colour washed over him as he took a sharp breath in. Blaine put his book down and slowly approached the bathroom door.
"Kurt."
Kurt's head snapped to his left. Fuck. He didn't even register what room he was in. He was sharing a bathroom with Blaine. He rolled his eyes and groaned.
"We are sharing?" Blaine nodded and sighed. It mustn't of clicked when he arrived. He bit his lip nervously and looked away.
"Great. Just fucking great." Kurt laughed out before he made his way back to the room, slamming the door tightly.
You're not walking away this time Kurt
Blaine stormed through the bathroom and straight through to kurt's room ignoring his unwelcome.
"What the fuck did I do Kurt? Huh? Wasn't I good enough for you? What was it that made you go to him instead of me!" Blaine belted out. He was absolutely seething. He spent a whole year without any answers and he wasn't playing no more. He needed to know.
Kurt looked back and forth, shocked at the intrusion. He looked a wreck. He was waiting for the blowout.
"C'mon Kurt. What was it? Wasn't the sex satisfying enough?" Blaine spat out.
"Get out of my god damn room!"
"No, I'm not going anywhere until you tell me why you fucked him!" Blaine growled, stepping closer towards Kurt. His eyes flashed a deep shade of red and his fangs showed making Kurt gasp. Blaine had never been this way in front of him before unless he was protecting him. This was direct and utter disgust. He wasn't backing down, not to Blaine not to no one.
"Is me just wanting to just fuck him a good enough answer for you?" Kurt retaliated, stepping closer. He knew his words would hurt him but it was better than the alternative of him knowing why.
"Great! So not only are you a liar and a cheat, you're a fucking slut!" Blaine belted back. He didn't care what he said and how it came across.
"Yes Blaine! I'm a fucking dirty whore who was definitely not satisfied with you." He looked Blaine up and down "So I had to go to someone else to feel something, to feel pleasure to feel alive. I wanted him Blaine just as much and he wanted me!"
Kurt was out of breath. He spluttered the last of his words out. He never meant any word of it but he remembered his agreement. Their agreement. He had to have Blaine hate him. He needed them all too and now that sebastian was coming back, it made him want them to hate him even more.
"I don't regret it at all Blaine! I don't even remember the last time you kissed me! That's how much you fucking mean to me! You was great Blaine but Sebastian? He was so much bett-
He couldn't get it words out, not because he couldn't find the right ones but because Blaine's lips was on his. Blaine pushed on Kurt forcefully against the wall making Kurt moan embarrassingly loud. His hands was all over him and it was intoxicating. Blaine licked kurt's lips playfully waiting for an invite in and Kurt accepted quickly. Their tongues battled for dominance, it was hot and heavy and Kurt felt his knees give way. His hands shot up to Blaine's hair threading his fingers through roughly while Blaine picked kurt's full weight up and carried him over the bed. He threw Kurt down and straddled him, pinning him with all his body. Blaine leaned down and started to place rough kisses down his neck. Kurt couldn't think straight. He heart was pounding, he never thought he would feel this again. Blaine licked a strip down his collarbone and he whimpered. Kurt couldn't take it. He wrapped his legs round Blaine and rolled them over so he was straddling him this time. He cupped Blaine face with his hand and went in for another heated kiss while his other hand trailed his body found his belt. Blaine moaned loudly and his head was thrown back. His body was on fire. Every touch, ever moan was excruciating. He just needed him. As Kurt went to slide the belt from Blaine's trousers he was thrown off. Wait what? Kurt was breathing hard and his lips red and swollen. Why did he stop?
Blaine stood up slowly and faced Kurt and he stated to fasten his belt back up. He never left his eyes of Kurt. He was extremely hard and it was painful how much he wanted him but he needed to prove a point.
"Why did you stop?" Kurt breathed out shakily as he tried to regain himself. He didn't think he has ever been this hard before. He just needed him to touch him. He needed to feel him. Blaine ignored him, finishing off fastening his belt.
"Blaine. Why did you stop?" Kurt asked again, he sat up and ruffled his blue hair back into place. His eyes never leaving Blaine. He looked up at Kurt trying to control his breathing. He leaned forward so they was an inch apart, he could feel the want. Kurt wanted him and that was a good enough answer for him.
"You seem pretty satisfied then.. Kurt." Blaine whispered into Kurt's lips and then he was pulling back and walking to the bathroom door to his own room. He slammed the door shut and slumped down against it. Jesus. Next thing he knew Kurt was banging on the bathroom door.
"I fucking hate you Blaine Anderson!"
But Blaine could only smile and rest his head against the door. He wanted him. Which only meant one thing.
Sebastian had something to do with it.
