Chapter 8: Ingredient Hunting with Lilith

I see you have come back for another chapter of the harem anime owl house… thank you and I am sorry for the cringe. Alright here is the first chapter where I don't introduce a new harem mate and instead just build on a relationship… this one being with lilith. Spoiler alert lilith will be the first girl to be officially welcomed into luca's harem and I hope I build their relationship up. The reason is two fold: one I love lilith and thinks she's a cool character, and two if I was given a choice in my next life to be reborn in any world with any life I'd want to be born in the owl house world as a friend and potential husband to lilith… btw my chosen coven is bard… which with what we know now makes sesnes Let me know what you think of my story on the reviews… please don't be a creep.
Luca trekked through the deep woods near the Owl House gasping for breath.
Luz Nocenda followed her brother carrying a huge backpack as each step felt like a needle in her legs.
The two teens traveled with their witch mentors in search of something that Eda required.
The witch woman looked over her map and stopped. She turned toward the kids and her sister then snapped her fingers. "Alright we're far enough, everyone sit down and get some rest then we can begin."
"Begin what?" Luca asked, bent over holding his knees and heaving.
"The hunt for ingredients of course. Need I remind you that I sell potions to stimulate my substantial bank account… and to stave off boredom." she said the last bit under her breath.
"W-why do you need to go into the woods for ingredients?" Luz asked sitting on the ground with her back against a tree. "Can't you afford to buy your own stuff."
"And waste money on overpriced components that I could get for free. No thank you!" Eda snapped her fingers. "Now Luz, you'll be with me and we'll go east. Lilith you take Luca and go west." Eda said reaching into Luz's back pack.
"Here's your list Lilly. Make sure that you get everything on there" Eda then leaned in close and handed Lilith another smaller piece of paper then whispered something to her.
Luca noticed and made a mental note to ask Lilith about that.
"Very well sister, it will be done." Lilith bowed her head and turned west. "Come along Child we don't have all day."
Luca followed the witch into the woods. The two walked for a few more minutes before anxiety got the best of him.
"Miss Lilith?"
"Yes child, what is it?"
"What was that second list that Eda gave you?"
"it was the list of spells you needed to learn on this exercise." she replied, crouching behind a bush.
"What are you–"
'Shush, you'll scare it." Lilith held her finger to her lip.
"Scare what?" Luca whispered, following Lilith into the cover.
"Look and see."
Luca put his head through the push and saw a badger with huge porcupine quills that were crimson red. The badger was the size of a full grown pit bull with two rows of sharp fangs. It was eating some pink mushrooms.
"The first thing on the list is the venom of a snapping badger's fang. Now I'll distract it and you'll use the sleep spell to knock it out." Lilith said, looking the creature over.
"Okay, I'll try."
Lilith nodded her head and ran out charging the creature.
The creature's back arched and a menacing growl exited his mouth. The creature took a couple steps back but then planted it's feet on the ground.
Lilith ran at it and used magic to form a small wall of ice behind the creature to prevent it's escape.
"Luca, now!" she yelled as the badger shot up to attack her.
Luca froze seeing the creature's roar and did the spell circle. When he shot it he miscalculated where the creature was and hit Lilith.
The witch's eyes felt heavy and she landed face first in the dirt.
The badger sniffed Lilith's body and then hissed, biting into arm.
Lilith shot up awake and screamed in pain. She punched the badger and retreated.
The two ran from the spot and once they knew the badger wasn't following them, they stopped to take their breath.
"What the heck child!" Lilith exclaimed, through labored breaths.
"I'm sorry. I froze up I'm not used to being in a conflict like that."
"Well you better get used to it. Because if the empress's champions ever come after us, and believe me they will, then we'll need you and your sister fully trained. That includes not freezing up in the middle of a conflict… got it!?"
Luca's head bowed in defeat "Yes Lilith, I'm sorry."
Lilith glared at Luca but her face softened. She pulled one of the badgers teeth out of her arm and smiled "Well at least we got the ingredient, so all is forgiven." she said. "Now give me the antivenom."
Luca pulled out a pinkish yellow liquid and handed it to Lilith.
"Hold this." Lilith said, handing him the fang.
Luca grabbed it and didn't realize that it was slippery as it dropped out of his hand and shattered on the ground into yellowish white powder with green liquid leaking from it. "Sorry Lilith."
"Ugh, forget about it. Let's just grab the next item on the list." Lilith grumbled, grabbing the list and looking it over. "Next item is a Dream Lily from the Mars flower."
"That doesn't sound so bad?"
"The Mars Flower is famous for it's consumption of witch children who go too far into it's domain and it could eat an adult too if given enough time."
"Ooo, that's a lot more bad."
"Very much so, but luckily we won't have to get to close. Because the next spell I plan on teaching you is a spell that drains vitality from plant life."
"That is relief to hear."
The two witches walked a few more hours into the wood and at last found the Mars Flower. It was three feet tall with thorny vines stretching from it. The Mars Flower had plenty of purple buds on it's vines and a huge Venus flytrap styled maw.
The deadly plant seemed to be snoozing.
"It's asleep, not even you could mess this up. Use the spell now."
"Okay," Luca exclaimed making a big spell circle and shouting it out. The spell drained the creature of life. "Yes, I did it."
The creature's face began to wilt and gray, the vines began to rot and the buds fell off.
"You did it all right." Lilith replied, her face held by her shaking palm. "You killed the flower and all the buds."
"Oh, is that bad?"
"Only if you wanted to use the Dream Lily's for potions… which we did." Lilith rose and stormed away from Luca.
"Lilith I'm sorry."
"No! I'm done with the I'm sorrys. You're hopeless child! You should've just stayed at the house if you were going to be this useless." Lilith's face was flush and a horrible grimace was adorning it.
"But–"
"Go back to the house while I get the final ingredient. You're done for today." Lilith turned her back to Luca and walked off.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know…" Luca voice trailed off and he looked at the Mars flower.

Stomping through the woods. Lilith Clawthorne grumbled to herself.
"Useless kid, can't even do a simple drain plant spell. Worthless." she said taking many angered steps toward the fire bee hive… the last ingredient they needed.
"He has no talent, no finesse, and isn't going to amount to anything. Just like… me." Lilith let the thought sink in. "He's just like I was when I began my apprenticeship."
"Maybe I was too hard on him." Lilith's thought process was cut off by the crackling buzz of a fire bee swarm. "Okay Lilith, game face, you'll need ice magic to freeze the bees and their honey. But first a little mist to tire them." Lilith summoned a small mist cloud and ordered it to enshroud the hive.
The bees began to inhale the mist much to the glee of Lilith.
"That's it, you're getting real sleepy aren't you? It's okay, I just want a little honey and I'll leave you be… just sleep." Lilith whispered.
Instead of falling down to rest the bees ignited and swarmed together looking for the source of the mist.
"What the–" Lilith exclaimed as the bees shot toward her.
"These must be a breed that is resistant to the mists tiring effects which means I need to run." she said dashing away from the hive.
Fire bee venom burns like heated coals and can cause internal bleeding as well as scarred tissue. Lilith ran as fast as she could.
The witch tripped and skinned her knee. she looked up in fear and saw the entire hive glaring at her.
"Oh no, this isn't good." the bees surged forward and as Lilith raised her hands to cover he face a shadow covered her.
The sound of Bee's biting into flesh rung out but they did not sting Lilith.
"Huh," Lilith saw in front of her Luca with over three dozen bees stinging him.
"I'm hear Ms. Lilith." Luca replied turning to Lilith with a smile.
"Look out!"
The bees had regrouped and turned to sting Luca again.
The teens legs were shaky but he managed to keep his posture enough to shoot a sleep spell putting half of one attacking force to sleep the others poked into him.
Luca took a few steps back but stayed on his feet.
"I'll show you Lilith. That I can defend the people I care about… I can be… strong!" Luca used a bigger circle and put the next wave of Bees to slumber.
Lilith's eyes widened, such an impressive display, he's improving every second. Lilith rose and went back-to-back with Luca as the bees swarmed around in a circle.
"You ready for this miss Lilith." Luca asked, smiling.
"Try and keep up child." she responded using a spell circle to encase a wave of bees in ice.
Luca followed her lead and more of the fire bees were captured.
After a couple more minutes of this the two witches were breathing heavily and their legs were shaking but the bees were all frozen in place.
"Good Job Lilith, you are really good at magic." Luca said, knees buckling under him.
Lilith smirked at that, "thank you chi– I mean Luca… you did good as well." Lilith Blushed, "Thanks to you we got at least one thing on the list."
"Correction," Luca stated his back on the ground and his eyes looking into the canopy of the trees. "We got all three ingredients thanks to me."
"Looks like the fire bee venom is messing with your mind child. We only managed to grab the honey… you killed the flower and dropped the fang with the venom."
"I don't know what the Poison in my body is doing to me… but I have the snapping badger venom and the Dream Lily in my bag. Go check."
Lilith ruffled through Luca's bag and found both of the ingredients. "How did you get these."
"Through trial and error." Luca said, showing bite marks and cuts on both his arms and legs. His breathing patterns began evening out. "Oops, I think the venoms are unionizing and now I can't see… I sure hope this isn't permanent."
Lilith chuckled at that. "You've done well for yourself Luca. But why did you go through all this trouble and bother coming back for me after what I said?"
"Because Lilith, I know you don't think I can handle myself but you and I are older siblings… so I know what it's like to be protecting someone less experienced then yourself… I just wanted to show you that I can be helpful."
"Well you sure did prove yourself."
"Also I wanted to impress you… I think your really cool and look great for your age… oh god, my inhibitions are being diluted by the poison… sleepy time now." Luca cast the sleep spell on himself leaving Lilith flushed.
Once Lilith had calmed down she walked to Luca and placed his head in her lap. She rubbed his head and began pulling the medicine from her bag. As she treated his wounds she smiled. You are a strange witch Luca Nocenda, but I think you are going to do great things on the Boiling Isles.
"Luz, Is that you?" Luca mumbled in his sleep, "Did you know that Lilith looks really hot when she is fighting."
Lilith coughed and nearly choked from shock.
Did he just call me hot?
