Chapter 14: Looking for Luz

I see you have come back for another chapter of the harem anime owl house… thank you and I am sorry for the cringe. "Come on eda! She has to be somewhere in the forest." Luca yelled from outside the owl house. He paced methodically as the thought of Luz being lost in those dangerous woods filled him with dread.
"I'm coming kid, I just gotta get these ingredients done." eda replied.
Luca turned his head toward her "ingredients for what?"
"A scrying potion, I have everything I need so you just got to be patient."
Luca tapped his foot for a few minutes and grumbled impatiently.
"Got it! The potion is ready." Eda yelled from inside the house.
Luca ran into the living room and saw eda standing over a cauldron.
"well, where is she? Is she okay?"
"huh, that's weird."
"what?"
"the scrying potion is blank."
"what do you mean it's blank!?" Luca exclaimed, grasping his hair and shivering.
"that means she's either not on the isles or somewhere with measures taken to prevent scrying." eda explained shaking her head, "either way this doesn't seem good."
"is there nothing we can do?"
"I never said that? Do you have something of hers that she really likes?"
Luca thought about it for a second and realized that luz had recently bought a otter plushie to help her sleep. "yeah I do, why?"
"Because if you have that then we can use a tracking spell to take us to her?"
"what? Really!?" Luca exclaimed, making his way up the stairs to grab the toy.
The boy ruffled through his sisters stuff and found the plushie. He ran back down to the stairs.
"a toy? Don't you have anything more meaningful?"
"she literally cuddled this thing every night since she got it… is that not meaningful enough?"
"I guess so."
eda began chanting the words and doing the finger motions as she channeled oracle magic into her body.
"Got it! Let's go!" Eda ran out from the house and Luca followed.
The two ran for an hour and came up to bonesborough. The city was bustling and the streets were crowded.
"Of course, she'd come to bonesborough and now her scent has grown weaker." Eda took a few more sniffs and turned her head to a nearby alley. "this way!"
The two witches ran to the alleyway and saw a couple homeless people in there.
"Hey have any of you seen a witch girl, brown hair in a pixie cut, teal and gold eyes."
the homeless did not notice them, they just mumbled to themselves.
"forget it kid, they're propably not all the way there."
"what do we do?"
"Look around for clues because I can't pick up her scent anymore."
Luca looked around the area and couldn't find anything. He looked the alley up and down but still no clue presented itself.
"Argh, this is pointless, what if those farm people took her?" Luca yelled, where are you lulu. The boy didn't want to think about what was happening to her.
"Luca over her!" Eda called from the other side of the alley.
The boy ran to his mentor and saw her standing over a small puddle. "Look here." she said pulling a finger that was badly burned and welted.
"Oh, oh god, is that luz's?" Luca gagged, tears coming to his eyes.
"I don't know but if it is we can use this to find her and get a new scent." Eda began the process of a second tracking spell to pick up on where the girl coule be.
"Got it!" Eda took a whiff of the air. "it's different… kid this finger may not be luz's, but it has her scent."
Luca breathed a sigh of relief. "then let's go and see who it belongs to."
The two witches ran through bonesborough and went into the seedier part of town. The two came upon a pub that needed serious repairs.
"Luca, I think this is where the owner of that finger is staying." eda said.
Luca nodded his head and the two entered the inn.
"do you have his scent eda?"
"Yeah, it's that guy over there." Eda pointed to the guy in the corner, drinking alone.
"I know him, he was one of the people who kidnapped lilith for the farm."
"then let's find out where this farm is."
Luca used a spell circle to summon a thunderous boom which caught the attention of all the patrons in the bar.
"Listen up, everyone out unless you wanna end up like that asshole in the corner!" luca ordered walking to the nervous slaver.
The patrons looked at each other questioningly then seeing eda was with him they filed out.
Luca walked up to the slaver and looked at his hands which were hidden behind his back. "let me see your hands slaver."
"No, I have rights." He said scared.
"I don't care… show me." Luca then used a spell circle to summon a ball of fire in his right hand "or else."
The man shakingly lifted his hands to show that his left hand was missing a finger.
"You son of a bitch!" Luca punched the man in the jaw making him recoil in pain.
"Please, it wasn't personal… I was just doing my job." He begged, lip quivering.
"Not personal? You took my baby sister! How is that not personal!?" Luca grabbed the man by the color and punched him in the throat. He swept his legs under the slavers knocking him to the ground.
"Please, I beg you… I'll do anything if you let me live." he cried holding his hands up.
"where is she!?"
"At the farm! We sold her to the farm!" the man cried holding his hands up in defence.
"where's the farm!?" Luca stomped the man's chest knocking the wind out of him.
"the comformitorium! The farm is in the comformitorium." he cried, "please let me go that's all I know."
"the comformitorium? You took those poor girls to that awful place? I outta burn you to a crisp."
"eda, let's go we're done here." Luca said releasing the man and walking away.
The man picked himself up on his trembling legs.
"Hey!"
the man stumbled almost falling again.
"I almost forgot… you left this outside." Luca threw the man his ruined finger and turned his back. "tell your men they have one week to disband along with all the other slave takers or I'm coming for them after I save my sister."
"Yes sir, I'll tell them." he nodded his head and turned to run.
Oh luz, I'm sorry I couldn't help you. Luca thougth walking away with eda.
The walk back to the owl house was a silent one as luca began thinking of ways he could save Luz.
When they returned it was high noon and lilith was waiting outside holding her hands together and looking anxiously.
"Edalyn! Luca! Did you find her?" Lilith asked.
Luca walked past her and edalyn shook her head.
"Oh, did you find anything useful?"
"Yeah, she's in the comformitorium along with the other kidnapped girls."
"wait, the comformitorium? That was shut down by empress after she defeated the emperor."
"I guess it's back in business… and god help those poor girls. I know what horrors that place has in store."
"so what's the plan?"
"we make a plan and then we save luz." Eda said, looking at luca who was sitting over the cualdron and was mixing a familiar potion one that would help a witch stay awake for 24 hours without any negative reprecussions… and from the looks of it he was making it in bulk.
