As Reid stepped off the plane and onto the tarmac, he took a deep breath. There really was no place like home. Morgan poked him in the back. "Keep moving, kid." he joked. Reid rolled his eyes, but stepped to the side, waiting for JJ. She was right behind Morgan, stretching her arms and taking Reid's hand.

Reid did not cry. Not very often, but when he entered the bullpen for the first time in over three months, he got a lump in his throat. His desk was clean, free of the numerous files (plus the ones Emily and Morgan were always slipping him), and the numerous items Morgan used to throw at him, telling him to shut up. Emily slipped her arm around his waist, squeezing him. "Pretty boring without you here." She said, tilting her head slightly to the side.

He chuckled, hugging her close before releasing her and walking to his desk. He sat down in his chair and leaned all the way back, sighing in pleasure. "Oh, yeah." Emily chuckled. "I missed this place," he murmured, eyes closed.

"So, what now? Heading back to your apartment? It's livable again." She teased with a grin.

"You know, I was kind of thinking on selling it. I like this new me and that apartment will just bring the only me out again eventually." Reid said causing Emily to snort. "Morgan invited me over to stay the night but I'll bet he just wants to quiz me."

"Not going home with JJ?" Emily questioned.

He shook his head. "As much as i want to go home with JJ tonight i also don't want Henry to see me yet. I wanted to keep it a surprise." He said.

"What about me?" Reid turned in his chair to see JJ, looking at him, with a sad pout.

"It's only going too be one night, Jenny." Reid said quietly

"It's been three months since I've been alone with you." She reminded him, tears in her voice. Emily slipped away to her husband's office. He was grabbing some files before they went home to see their son. Reid got up and walked over to his girlfriend, cupping her face between his hands and resting his forehead against hers.

"Yeah.. that's true." Reid said trailing off.

"Please baby," she pleaded hugging him tighter "I'll see the alarm early and you can leave before he wakes up. I don't think i can go another night without you."

He sighed, kissing her gently. "Ok I'll go home with you." He answered. JJ instantly cheered up and kissed him on the lips.

"Thank you thank you!" JJ said. Reid just kissed her again.

"Hey, pretty boy," Morgan called out, heading for the elevator. "You coming or what?"

Reid smirked looking over JJ's shoulder "Oh, I will be." He simply said. Morgan let out a loud whistle, waving over his shoulder before leaving.

"You think you're going to get lucky tonight?" JJ purred into his ear, tapping her fingertips against his belt buckle.

He looked back down at JJ, crashing his lips onto hers before replying. "With you around? I know you'll get the job done. I don't need luck. I just need you."

After hearing those words and having her heart nearly melt, she reciprocated the kiss just as hard until the need for oxygen drove them apart. JJ went to her office and gathered a few things before they both left and headed to her house.

Reid was resting on his bare stomach quietly reading a magazine when JJ walked out of the shower. She got a real good look at the person who she loved. The sheets tangled around his legs and lower waist. His chest and torso exposed with one arm flipping the magazine pages and other one hanging off the side. His long lashes against his skin and his hair mused and falling across his brow; his lips parted softly. How did she go this long without this sight? How did she give herself to Will, when Spence was right in front of her? It killed her, knowing how much time they had been robbed of. She thought of her sleeping son in his room and knew for dead certain that he would never ask or anything less, as long as Reid was around.

She shook her head clear of all thoughts. That's when she noticed something she was meaning to talk to Reid about. She noticed on his back a lot of scars that were definitely 3 months old or newer. She discarded his dress shirt from her body and slowly crawled in next to him, his warm body always available to her. She gently put one of her hands on his bare back and let her fingers stroll up and down the back's length, feeling the indentation of each scar. Some were small and barley noticeable while others were bigger and had a bigger indent to it.

The biggest she saw wasn't even a scar yet, you could still the the scratch marks running along the main line. It was painted horizontally on his back from side to side. This one upset JJ the most because of how fresh it was.

"Spence?" JJ asked softly

"Yes baby?" Reid replied just as softly, putting the magazine away and turned his head to face her.

"Im sorry for asking this i just noticed it when i came out of the shower." JJ said while still gently rubbing his back.

"You don't have to be sorry for anything Jenny. You can talk to me about anything." Reid said.

"These scars you have on your back. Do you know how you got them? They worry me." JJ admitted.

Reid sat up from his position and turned so he was facing her, revealing the scars on his chest.

"Which ones? these?" Reid said pointing to the few on his chest.

JJ took her hand and gently ran her fingers over the scars on his chest to see if they were as bad as the ones on his back, thankfully they weren't.

"Well i saw these ones our first night at the hotel. You know, when I just couldn't get enough of your abs." JJ said with a smirk as she took her other hand and just ran it over the entirety of his chest.

"Yeah i remember that night." Reid laughed slightly.

"But no i was talking about the ones on your back. Do you remember getting any of them?"

"The only one i remember getting is the one i felt you touch the most. The one going from side to side? Reid asked.

"Yeah I don't like that one. It looked fresh." JJ said in remembering.

"Yeah well that one i got my last week over seas. We were doing a perimeter search around our camp and it was night out. I guess I wasn't paying attention where i was going and i tripped on a tree branch. That branch just so happened to be next to a steep hill causing me to tumble quite a ways down. I guess as i was rolling a sharp branch cut me that whole distance. It was pretty bad but its healing now." Reid said.

"Let me see it again." JJ ordered.

Reid got back into his previous position and JJ took her fingers and gently brushed on and around the cut.

"Does it hurt?" JJ asked.

"Honestly?" Reid asked.

"Yes."

"Yes. Not as bad as when it first happened but that one on top of all the other's stirs up into a pretty aching back." Reid almost chuckled trying to find light in the situation.

"Have you taken aspirin for the pain?" JJ asked now concerned.

"No. I haven't even gone to a hospital or anything. Just went to the medic tent at the camp when it happened and they patched it up best they could there. Im scared to use pain relievers, you know why." Reid admitted

JJ instantly knew the reasoning. "Tobias."

"Yeah.. him."

"Im sorry it hurts still." JJ said.

"Its alright, you rubbing on them honestly felt good, made me forget about the pain a little."

"Really?"

"Most definitely."

JJ then knew how to help Reid. She shifted herself until she was straddling his lower back. Then she gently started massaging his back, making sure to be extra careful around the scars and scrapes as to not make them worse.

"God, JJ..." He was practically in heaven, Months of torment on his body finally being relieved.

"Shh, Spence, just let me help you fall asleep."

"mmhmm okay. I love you JJ more than you'll ever know." Reid said right before the sensation of JJ's hands coaxed him into slumber.

"I love you too Spence, and I think do know." She said with a smile as she continued her work on his back for several more minutes until she was positive her work made him fall asleep. She got off his back and crawled up the bed to her side and got under the covers. Out of instinct Reid flipped so now he was lying on his back and pulled JJ close to him, having a protective hold on her. JJ rested her head on his chest and slowly drifted off the sleep."

"I love you so much"

JJ and Reid woke up and hour earlier than usual but they needed to as to not ruin Henry's surprise. They were going to go surprise him after work today when they go to pick him up from daycare. After getting ready for the day ahead she walked him to the door, not wanting him to go, not wanting him out of her sight, afraid she would go back to sleep and wake up to Spence still being gone. She studied their hands linked together.

"Are you going to be at work today?" She asked.

"Hotch told me to take a few days before coming back. He wants me to relax and get used to being back." He reported softly, not wanting to alert Henry to his presence.

"Oh." JJ said, disappointment in her voice.

He hooked a finger under her chin and raised it so she would look at him. "I can come by for lunch. Either with the team or just us." He suggested.

She slipped her arms around his neck. "Is it bad that I want you all to myself, Spence?" She teased and he smiled.

He placed a soft lingering kiss on her lips. "I don't think so since i want the same thing."

He opened the door and she playfully pushed him out. "Go. Before I tie you to my bed."

He chuckled. "Don't try to threaten me with a good time, Jenny. Remember you still owe me for that late night SUV ride." Reid said with a flirty look.

"I'll consider it. Who knows it might be fun. for me at least." JJ said with an evil smirk.

"Can't wait." He said, blushing slightly realizing what she meant. He gave her one last wave before he got into his car and drove off. JJ watched until she couldn't see him anymore and leaned against the doorway with a silly grin. "I'm going to marry him one day."

"Are you expecting Reid?" Rossi asked, leaning back against the railing next to JJ. She looked over at him. "You keep looking at the clock and checking your cell phone." He told her.

"I hate profilers." She said with a smile, standing to her full height and facing him.

"Hate to break it to you, sweetheart, but Jack could've told you that." He informed her dryly.

"Fine. I'm excited to see my boyfriend. Happy now?"

"Yes, I am." Rossi said as he watched the pure emotion of joy and love cross JJ's face as Reid came up behind her and slipped his arms around her, pulling her close to his body. He dropped a kiss to her shoulder and smiled at Rossi. "Hey, Rossi."

"Hey Reid." Rossi replied to the genius.

JJ tilted her head to look at her lover. "Spence." she greeted lovingly.

Reid brushed his nose against hers affectionately. "You ready for later on?" Reid asked.

I'm a little nervous, but yeah, I'm excited." She said with a smile.

"Whats going on later on?" Rossi questioned.

"After work me and JJ are picking up Henry at daycare. Only he doesn't know im back yet." Reid said.

"He's going to be in for one hell of a surprise." Rossi said with a chuckle.

"I know, I can't wait, he's going to be so happy." JJ said. Rossi departed to get back to work and Reid and JJ went out to lunch together and spent the rest of the afternoon in each other's presence.

Finally it was time to pick Henry up at daycare and Reid and JJ were both extremely nervous but extremely happy. They decided that Reid would stay in the car and JJ would go in alone to grab Henry. Then as they walk out Reid would be standing in front of their car with arms wide open waiting for Henry to run into them.

"You ready?" JJ asked Reid.

Reid disconnected his seatbelt and reached his arm out to grasp JJ's hand. "Lets do this baby," He told her before stealing a quick kiss.

JJ exited the car and walked into the Daycare center. Once she was inside Reid exited and took his position.

A few minutes later he saw JJ and Henry leave the daycare and braced himself.

"Hey Henry do you remember that surprise i told you about? The one i'd give you when i got back?" JJ asked Henry.

"Yes mommy i do remember!" Henry smiled back.

"Well I didn't want to be alone giving it to you so i brought someone along with me." JJ said.

"Who?!" Henry said almost jumping up and down in anticipation.

"I don't know Henry. Maybe you should look over to our car and see for yourself."

JJ always parked in the same parking spot if she could help it so finding her car wasn't a problem for finding him. It took Henry a second to identify who it was standing there because of the distance but then he spoke and it all became clear. "Hi Henry."

"UNCLE SPENCE!" Henry shouted. He ran full speed at the young man, launching himself into Reid's arm, squealing and laughing, throwing his little arms around Reid's neck. Reid laughed too, squeezing his godson tight.

"Mommy look! Uncle Spence is back!"

"Yeah, baby. He's back." JJ said as she made her way to her two favorite boys.

"I missed you, Uncle Spence."

"I missed you, too, Henry." Reid sniffled. "I missed you so much."

Henry drew back to look at him. "Mommy too?"

Reid chuckled. "Yeah, I missed your mama, too."

"Can I ask you a question Uncle Spence?" Henry asked.

"Of course buddy. What't your question."

"Could you marry mommy?" Henry asked, sticking out his lower lip in a pout.

Reid pursed his lips briefly before saying "Yeah buddy, I can do that." He ignored JJ's gasp. "But why?"

Henry looked away, fiddling with his fingers before saying "So you can be my daddy."

You could've knocked Reid over with a feather. He was so shocked, he just stared at the little boy. He was speechless and Henry watched him, waiting for him to answer. Reid finally cleared his throat and blinked several times.

"Uncle Spence?" Henry asked cautiously.

Reid hugged the little boy close to his body before choking out, "I would be honored to be your daddy, Henry."

Henry beamed, wrapping his arms around the young father's neck. "Hi, daddy."

"Hey, buddy." Reid said through his tears.

Henry buried his neck in his father's neck and smiled. JJ had tears running down her cheeks and took up the other side of Reid, who wrapped his free arm around her.

"I promise to never leave either one of you again. Daddy is home for good."

"Yayyy!" Henry cheered.

"I love you Spence." JJ said and kissed Reid

"I love you too Jenny."

"Now about marrying me." JJ said with a laugh.

"Don't worry, we got plenty of time to make it official. Right now i just want to hold my two favorite people. My family."

Authors Note: And that's a wrap! sorry if this chapter was a little longer than usual but i really didn't want to make an 11th chapter that would have most likely been rather short.
