The conversation had taken over two hours. They told her everything. They never missed one detail out. She had sat in silence while they talked. She never once disturbed them. A whirl wind of emotions was spread across her face.

"I know this is a lot to take in Mrs Humm-

"Show me." Carol said brokenly lifting her head up to meet his. "Please, show me."

Wes nodded and stood up and moved his chair over so he was sitting next to her. He was slow, trying to see any indication that she was afraid. She shown none. He sat down

and turned to face her. "I would never hurt you."

Wes slowly revealed his true self. He eyes turned red and the veins below his eyes started to pulsate. She didn't move. She didn't stir. He opened his mouth and he heard her heart rate pick up and he closed his mouth quickly. Carol lifted her hand up and placed it on Wes's face and nodded. He swallowed before opening his mouth again and flashing her his fangs. He didn't sense no fear. Why did she not fear me?

"How long have you been this way sweetheart?" Carol said softly. Wes laughed.

"Far too long Mrs Hummel." Wes sighed and leaned into the touch. He had never really had a motherly figure, him and Kurt was alike in that way. His mum had abandoned him after his transition. Abomination she had said. She was the only one in his family he didn't support his lifestyle. It felt nice. Really nice.

"I'm so sorry."

Wes looked at her and seen a sad smile across her face. She really did mean it. Wes smiled and she turned to her son. "How long have you known?"

"Since Kurt left Dalton mom. We wanted to tell you but we was trying to protect you." Finn hoped him mom would forgive him for keeping this secret away from here. She stood and made her way to Finn and wrapped his arms round his shoulders.

"It should be me protecting you and your brother. Not the other way round." Carol said sweetly before kissing her son on the top of his head. Finn felt relieved. He was so thankful to have a mom like her.

"Being involved in this is incredible dangerous Mrs Hummel. Kurt never wanted that for you." Wes chimed in. Thank god she's taking this well.

"How can I help?" Carol said before taking a seat and grabbing her sons hand.

"Kurt is struggling with his transition. It's normally relatively easy but Kurt can't keep any of the blood down apart from when he first completed the transition, drinking from the vein. I've never seen it before. None of us have. I was wondering if you knew anything about Kurt's biological mother? A second name would really help us." Wes asked her. He hoped she didn't feel offended with the question.

"Burt still had his and Elizabeth's wedding certificate kept away safe. I'll go and check it." She smiled before standing up and making her way upstairs.

"I'm so glad she's taking this well dude. I was so worried."

"You and me both Finn."

Shortly after carol came back downstairs with a few envelopes in her hand. She sat back down and started to open it.

"Elizabeth Martin."

He handed it over to Wes and he took a closer look. "She was originally from France?"

"I remember Burt telling me that she came over to live her family over here when she was fourteen. I don't know the reason why. I think that's why Kurt took an interest in the language. It made him feel closer to her."

"Yeah. I remember Kurt saying it reminded him of her." Finn added in looking over documents.

"This is all great Mrs Hummel. Do you mind if I take them? I promise I'll return them to you."

"No of course not. I trust you with them. Anything I can do that can help I will." Carol said sweetly. "How is my Kurt dealing with all of this?"

"He's dealing pretty well but he misses you both. He's becoming weak because he's not able to feed from a blood bag and we don't want to go through the route of letting him drink from a donor again. It broke him knowing he could do that to someone."

"I know this is a long shot but is there any way we could possibly see him? There must be a way we can have contact with him without it being over the phone." Carol said hopeful. She hadn't seen her son in so long and it was killing her. She just wanted to hold him and tell him everything is going to be okay. Wes tried to think of a way they could see each other. He knew it would help Kurt tremendously.

"Would it bother you if you sat with a window between you both? I know it's not the same but.. it's the best we can do. We just can't trust the blood lust after last time."

"No of course not. I just want to see my son." Carol beamed. She just needed to know he was okay.

"Ah man that would be epic."

Wesley laughed before standing up. "I guess we have a long drive ahead of us then don't we?"

Kurt couldn't keep his head out the toilet. He wasn't just vomiting this time, he was spitting out heaps of blood. Blaine didn't know what to do. He was kneeling down beside him, running circles around his back. He wished he could take the pain away. Kurt tilting his head away from the toilet. He was sweating profusely, his hair and clothes was soaking wet. He was burning up. Blaine had placed a cold wet cloth along his forehead. Kurt moaned as he felt the cold cloth hit his face. Gold that felt so good.

"I wish I could take this pain away from you. I wish I knew how I could help you." Blaine didn't know what more he could do for him. He wished he could do more.

"Can you just hold me? Please?" Kurt whimpered out as the pain rushed through his head. Blaine pulled him gently so he was sitting in between Blaine's legs facing the toilet, just incase he started to vomit blood again. Jeff, Nick and David had just entered the room, spotting the blood everywhere. It was like someone had been butchered. Kurt had his eyes closed trying to shield out the pain. Blaine looked over and shook his head.

"It's getting worse." Blaine whispered as he pulled Kurt in closer. Kurt started to cough again. The blood spilling from his mouth. Make it stop please

"I promise you we are going to figure this out." Nick said before taking the cloth out of Blaine's hands and wetting it again before placing it on Kurt's head. He's hot to touch.

"I'm going to try and find out some answers." Nick said before kissing Kurt on the head and standing up and making his way out the room. Jeff and David stepped in, sitting on the floor in the bathroom with Blaine to comfort Kurt.

Nicks hands was shaking. It wasn't because he was nervous it was because he was angry. He never thought in a million years he would be going to Sebastian Smythe for help but he was older and if anyone would know anything it would be him. He knocked on the door. No answer.

"Open the door Smythe."

He heard unlocking and the door opened.

"Hello Duval. How lovely to see you." His voice was sickening to him. He wanted to reach over and snap his neck again but he refrained. He moved past Sebastian quickly, not waiting for an invite.

"Oh please do come in." Sebastian rolled his eyes before turning to Nick. "You're lucky I've calmed down or your head would be most definitely out that window."

"I'm shaking Sebastian." Nick said bluntly before sitting down.

"What do you want? If you're here because you're tired of Jeff I'm flattered but I'm not interested." Sebastian smirked before sitting in front of him.

"It would umpteen amounts of tequila and the world to be crashing and burning for me to even consider just kissing you. I'm not into cheats and liars."

Sebastian shrugged before crossing his legs, the smirk still plastered on his face.

"It's Kurt. He can't keep down the blood bags. Every time he drinks from one it's like acid burning down his throat. He's started to vomit blood and it's like he's rejecting the transition. He was fine on the vein. More than fine actually." Nick said looking out the window. The thought of even looking at him made him want to punch him repeatedly.

"I'm here because Jeff asked me too and to be honest with you, it's bad. Really bad. It's like he's dying all over again." Nick turned towards him and he felt the nausea rise in his throat. Sebastian stood and walked over towards Nick and held his hand out.

"You need to show me what he was like when he first fed."

Nick didn't want too but he needed to help Kurt. He lifted his hand and grabbed Sebastian's reluctantly. He showed him. The way he was when he fed. The blood lust. He didn't show him anymore. He didn't want him to see how Blaine was with him but he showed him enough so he got the idea. Sebastian pulled back with a shocked look in his eyes.

"He's like a different person." Sebastian whispered. Nick held his hand out again and showed him Kurt trying to feed from the blood bags.

"He's a natural." Sebastian said quickly pulling his hand back and placing it towards his side.

"If you're trying to be funny cut it out. Yeah I get it. He's lived in the moment and the feeding was-

"No, he's a natural. It's extremely rare but it's a real thing. I've seen it." Sebastian couldn't believe it. Hummel was a natural. He's going to hate that.

"What is a natural?" Nick questioned. He felt relief wash over him.

"It's someone who can only drink from a human source. Artificial blood or blood bags will make immensely sick. He's not faking it Duval, he can't keep the blood down because his body is rejecting it. The only way he can drink is from the vein. It's most likely hereditary."

They sat there for a moment. Nick was soaking up the words. "How can we help him?"

"We can't help him. It's impossible. The only way Kurt can sustain his life is if he drinks from a human only. Natural's also have extreme blood lust and strength more than the average Vampire. That's why you couldn't get him off the donor. He physically couldn't because the blood lust was that intense."

Sebastian felt so sorry for Kurt. Out of everyone this could have happen to it was the one person who would struggle with it the most. Sebastian leaned back on the chair and sighed. Hummel is going to be devastated. Nick nodded before standing up.

"Can I see him?" Sebastian said standing too. He really did want to see him.

"I don't think that's a good idea. Just… give it time Smythe."

X

Nick quickly made his way back to Kurt's room. He pulled out the phone and dialled his friends number. After a few rings it picked up.

Hey Nick. How's Kurt doing?

"The sickness is getting worse but I think I know half of what's wrong with Kurt."

You're kidding? How did you find that one out?

"Fuck face knew more than we thought. I'll explain it when you get back."

Thank god. We will be another two hours. I'm bringing Carol and Finn. I think it's going to help with his transition

"Yeah you're right. I think that's a good idea. I'll see you soon Wes."

Bye man

Nick hung the phone up before opening Kurt's door. They all looked up from the bed. Kurt had his kneels pulled up to his head and was muttering to himself.

"You know what's wrong?" Blaine said hopefully.

He told them what sebastian had told him. He watched the distraught look on Kurt's face when it finally clicked. Everything made sense to them now. All the signs was there. Sebastian was right. The blood bags where killing him.

"I can't do it. I can't feed like that again. I killed someone. I ripped him apart and I fucking enjoyed it Nicky. I loved every minute of it." Kurt said weekly, closing his eyes. It helped with the severe headaches he was suffering with.

"I'm so sorry Kurt but it's the only way. We are going to find a way to fix this for you but for the time being, you have to feed."

Kurt shook his head. "I can't-

"Yes you can my love. You can do this." Blaine said taking his hands in his own. It killed him to see him in this much pain. He raised their hands and kissed them gently.

"We've got you baby. We are all here for you, every step of the way." Jeff kissed Kurt's head and looked up to his boyfriend who was kneeling on the other side of the bed. Kurt looked tiredly up, he knew they would all be there for him he just felt so defeated.

"Hummel's never back down. You've got this pétale."

Kurt laughed before nodding his head. He was strong and he knew his father would be so proud of him. He has to do this or he at least he to try.

"Okay."

They was back in the common room a few hours later. They didn't have to worry about anyone disturbing them. It had been sealed off to any human. They wouldn't know where to even find it if they knew about it. Kurt sat down. The nausea was there but it had subsided which he was thankful for. His eyes was still closed and they had dimmed the lights down so the pain was bearable.

"Finn and Carol are in there way with Wes and they should be here soon." Nick finally admitted.

"You're joking right? It's dangerous for them! Now more than ever!" Kurt tried to shout but his voice was weak and vulnerable and started to crack with the soreness.

"I think it'll be good for you-

"No it won't be good for me! You don't know Jack shit! I could hurt them! Imagine what I would be like if I hurt them Blaine? It'll kill me."

Blaine placed a hand on Kurt which soothed him instantly and he relaxed into it. The pounding in his head was getting worse and one of Kurt's hands reached up to his head.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean that." Kurt muttered while he leaned into Blaine. "I didn't mean to shout."

"It's okay my love. I know how hard this is for you."

They had called another donor. They should be there within the hour. David had entered the room and placed a hot cup of coffee into Kurt's hands.

"Merci chérie."

David smiled at the nickname and sat himself back down. "Aucun problem pétale."

Wes, Finn and Carol had just pulled up outside Dalton. Finn turned the car off and looked towards them both.

"He's going to be okay isn't he dude?" Finn said quietly as he opened the door and climbed out the car.

"He's always been a fighter. I think he'll be just fine but it'll take time." Wes answered following suit. He walked round and opened the door for carol and held his hand out. Carol laughed and accepted the hand quickly.

"You're such a gentlemen. How haven't you find yourself a nice girl already? Or a nice boy if you swing that way."

Wes laughed and Finn was mortified. "Mom you can't just say things like that!"

"Why not? It's the truth son." Wes has helped carol out the car and he shut it closed behind her.

"I guess I just haven't found the right person yet Mrs Hummel."

"Well they would be extremely lucky to have you Wesley, you're an absolute diamond. Oh and stop calling me Mrs Hummel, it makes me feel so old."

"Yes m'am."

Carol looked up and laughed before patting him on the shoulder. Wes nodded.

"Yes Carol."

"That's better. Now c'mon, I want to see my little bundle of joy."

Kurt had heard them outside and his heart started to swell. Carol knew everything and yet she was still here trying to help. He looked down at the floor and took a deep breath. He had missed her so much. He wanted nothing more than to get swept up in one of her hugs and be comforted by her.

"She knows?" Kurt whispered still looking at the floor.

"Wes and Finn explained everything to her, Kurt. You don't have to worry." Nick smiled up to his friend. Mrs Hummel was incredible woman. Kurt nodded.

"I've missed them so much."

"We know you have sweetie. That's why we need to do this. Not just for you but for them. They're a huge part of your life Kurt and if it's anyone who is going to keep you grounded and remind you of your humanity it's going to be them two."

He looked up at Jeff and his eyes lit up. "I can't wait to see them."

They had a room made a few years ago for Kurt when they had started talking about Kurt's transition into becoming a vampire so it would be easier for Kurt to be able to see him family without the worry of hurting them. Thank god they did this a while back. It was a big bright room that was cut down the middle with a huge fibreglass window that was layered for added durability. They did countless of hours testing on it. There was no way he was getting though it, even with his new found strength. Lightening on both sides was different. Kurt's side was dimmer and had no windows so the only light that was present was the artificial one and on the other side it had three windows so light could flow in naturally. Comfortable chairs was placed on either side and it was extremely homely. They wanted it that way so Kurt felt like he wasn't in a prison. They entered the room and Kurt smiled. He had no clue they did this for him.

"You did all this so I could see my family?" Kurt grinned before being looking around. It was overwhelming.

"We wanted it to be easier for you my love. Especially seeing your family." Blaine walked over and kissed him gently on his lips.

"Thank you, all of you. You don't know how much this is going to help me." Kurt felt like the pressure of hurting his family was lifted and he sat on the chair.

"We are just outside. We can hear everything and we can see everything." David pointed to the large painting that was hung on the wall. It flew from one side to the another. "Behind that painting is a smaller room and we can see everything Kurt. We will be there with you. I know it's not what you wanted privacy wise but it's just a precaution so we know all of you is safe."

Kurt grinned. It was everything and much more. "Thank you."

"They should be here any minute. We will leave you to it. Remember sweetie we are just outside." Jeff said sweetly before kissing him on the cheek and leaving the room and entering the smaller one that was attached to it.

"Good luck man." Nick left too after giving a squeeze to Kurt's shoulder and following his boyfriend out the room.

"Détends ton esprit. Profitez-en."(relax your mind. Enjoy it) David smiled before leaving Kurt and Blaine alone.

Kurt had started to fidget excitedly, knowing he would se his family was making him feel amazing. Blaine chucked before kneeling down in front of him. "I'm so happy for you. I'll be right outside. You need me you just let me know. Don't worry about you being able to smell them. It's isolated. Okay?"

Kurt nodded excitedly before quickly placing a kiss on his lips. Blaine stood up and made his way out the room and shutting it over gently. He felt like he had been sitting there forever. His legs was swinging back and forth on the chair and his kept opening and closing his hands.

"He's so excited guys! Look at him. God he's adorable I feel like running back in there and squeezing him." Jeff clapped his hands together and his boyfriend rolled his eyes before holding him for behind.

"Down boy." Nick muttered into his ear and Jeff giggled.

"You can't have any physical contact with Kurt as there is a glass in front of you, you can talk freely. You don't have to worry about anyone getting hurt, that's what the glass is there for. If you need us we are just next door. Call for us and we'll be there. Okay?" Wes said formally as he placed his hand on the door, ready to open to it.

"Please just open that door." Carol said giddily and Finn laughed putting a arm round her for support.

"Open the door man or she might just kick it down."

Wes grinned before opening the door for them to walk through and he shut it behind them. He made his way to the 'viewing room' as they called it to meet his friends.

"Thank god you're back man. How was that long car journey?" Nick smirked before patting him on the back.

"Reminded me why I don't like to drive." Wes rolled his eyes and sat down on one of the chairs that was placed in the room. They looked through the window and the sight before them melted their hearts. Kurt was standing up with his hand up and his forehead was placed against the glass and he had the biggest smile that they had ever seen on his face. He started to laugh at something Carol had said his head was thrown back, showing all of his teeth. Carol was beaming and when Kurt looked back she kissed the glass. It was adorable. Kurt had turned towards Finn and moved his hand over and Finn placed his hand over his, glass separating them both.

"Hey little bro." Finn smiled leaning closer into the glass.

"I'm older than you Finn." Kurt laughed out. Tears shinning in his eyes. Finn huffed and then and they all sat down. Kurt still had a hand on the glass with Carol.

"God sweetie how are you? I've missed you so much!" Carol was ecstatic.

"I've missed you so much too! I'm okay Carol honestly." Kurt smiled before taking a sip of coffee that was next to him.

"You look well sweetie."

"Don't lie mum. He looks like shit." Finn laughed out before Kurt hit the glass playfully making him jump.

"Fuck you tall and lanky. I'll have you know I look fabulous thank you very much." Kurt shot back, standing up tilting his head to the side. He had missed him brother.

"Now now boys. Calm down." Carol smiled at the brotherly banter. She always enjoyed seeing them together.

"Yes mom." Finn sat back and smirked at his brother and gestured for him to do the same.

"Yes mom." Kurt rolled his eyes and sat himself down.

They talked for a further thirty minutes. He felt like he had got his family back again. He felt normal until all of a sudden he didn't. Blood lust. He could smell the donor on his side and his heart started to race.

"Are you okay son?" Carol asked concerned as she turned towards Finn.

"It's the blood mom. The donor must be here." Carol nodded and turned back to her other son. She watched him. His hands was shaking and his grip on his lips was painfully tight. He turned around quickly, he didn't want them to see him this way.

"You need to go." Kurt spat out.

"Get them out. Get them out right fucking now!" Kurt stood, he fangs started to erect from his mouth and his eyes flashed dangerously. He kept himself turned round and placed himself in the corner of the room. He felt like he was going to pass out. They ran into the room but carol placed one of her hands out, signalling them to stay where they was.

"Look at me son. Look at me." Carol pleaded as she stood and placed her hand on on the glass. Kurt tried to filter out her voice but it rang like a bell and he felt the emotions run through him. He opened his mouth and closed again. The vampirism taking over him.

"Please. Let me be here for you sweetheart."

Kurt caved. He slowly turned round. His fangs was out and the veins was protruding his face, his blood red eyes looked everywhere but his moms and his brothers. He walked over, he felt like his feet was dragging across the carpet but they wasn't. He felt heavy. His body and his mind. He arms reached out to the table and they bent and he leaned over, his elbows supporting him. He slowly and hesitantly lifted his head to meet them. Carol wanted nothing more but to hold her son. He was fighting with demons inside of him and they were trying to claw there way out. She had never heard such pain and anger his in voice. He was a different person yet he was still her son. She smiled lovingly.

"I love you so much son. Do you understand that? I would do anything for you, go to the ends of the earth just to be with you and your brother. I believe in you."

He started to calm. Relaxing at his words. He fought with the demons and he felt the lust slowly subside. It was still there but his rage had faded away. His fangs had retracted into his mouth, his eyes showed no rage only exhaustion.

"There you go." Carol beamed before looking over to the five other vampire's who was beaming right back at her. She looked back. Her son has his eyes closed and was panting furiously trying to keep the blood lust at bay.

"Well done dude. So proud of you." Finn said proudly.

A small smile fell on Kurt's lips as he breathed through the lust. He tried to talk but all he could smell is the human. "Mmm."

Blaine walked over and placed a hand on the glass. "It's lovely to see you again Carol."

"Always Blaine. Always." She smiled. "Thank you for looking after him."

"Always Carol, always." They laughed and he wrapped his arms round Kurt and kissed his neck. Kurt moaned with his mouth open and his eyes stayed shut and he relaxed instantly. Carol laughed nervously and Finn placed two hands over his ears.

"You'll hear him do that a lot. Everything is heightened, every one of his senses. He really can't help it." Blaine said to Carol and Finn and they both nodded in understanding. Kurt grip became tighter on the chair.

"Get the donor, please." Kurt mumbled out. Blaine kissed him again and looked towards his friends.

"I'll go get him." Nick said quickly.

"Finn? Mrs Hummel? Would you both mind joining me?" Wes said as he pointed to the door behind them.

"Of course dear." They both stood up. "We are not leaving okay? We will be right here for you."

Kurt nodded and made a noise of agreement. His eyes still shut.

"You've got this man."

They both left with Wes and the door was shut behind them. Nick returned quickly, dragging the donor forcefully by his arm into the room.

"Jesus Christ Nicky you're gonna take the arm the arm off him!" Jeff rushed forward breaking him away from the donor.

"Not if Kurt does it first." Nick smirked and Jeff smacked him hard on the arm.

"Nick." Blaine said sternly looking at him friend. Kurt started to laugh. Really laugh.

"Good one Nick." Kurt said breathlessly as he eyes wandered towards the donor. Nick laughed satisfied. Blaine and David had their arms wrapped round him holding him back. Nick walked the donor so he was in front of Kurt. Kurt started to thrash, trying to get out of their grip. Nick lifted up his arm and held his wrist out for Kurt. The feed would be must longer through the wrist and they would have more time to try and get Kurt off him if needs be. He guided his wrist towards his mouth.

"Take your time Kurt."

Kurt was nodding frantically. "Please."

Nick pressed the wrist to his lips and he sank his fangs down. No longer did he feel ill. He felt reborn. His hand shot up to meet Nicks, holding the wrist in place. He moaned at the feeling of the warm liquid hitting the back of his throat. He put more pressure on and Nick lifted his other hand up to support his shoulder. He lifted his eyes to meet Nick's. Damn, Hummel you're turning me on. Kurt rolled his eyes and smirked round the wrist. He tried to lift his hand up but his mind was telling him not too and he placed it back on Nicks hand. He felt Blaine's body press up against him and he moaned again, pressing back to feel him. Blaine leaned over his shoulder.

"You can stop now love."

He tried to stop but he couldn't. The donor was starting to go faint and he swayed side to side as Nick kept him upright. Kurt was going to kill him. I can't stop.

They all heard him say it in his mind and it scared them. He couldn't stop. Nick pulled gently back on the wrist but Kurt's gripped harder and kept it in place. The more Nick tried to pull his hand back Kurt pulled back harder. He was breaking is wrist. Nick shouted out in pain. Nick seen the panic in Kurt's eyes.

Snap my neck

Nick shook his head to the side. He didn't want to hurt him

Please do it before I hurt you

Nick could see the tears forming in his eyes.

Please Nicky do it. Help me stop. Plea-

Jeff shot forward and grabbed Kurt's head and placed his other under his chin. He felt Kurt nod.

"I'm so sorry baby." Jeff cried out before doing what the others couldn't. He snapped it quickly. Blaine grabbed Kurt from behind and lowered his lifeless body to the floor. Nick looked at his boyfriend in shock. Out of everyone it was him who did it.

"I couldn't.. I couldn't see him struggle Nicky. I'm sorry." Jeff looked at his hands and back towards them all. Nick grabbed him and pulled him in towards his body. Blaine was sitting beside Kurt holding his hand.

"I had too Blaine I'm-

"Don't be Jeff. He asked us too. He would of ended up killing the donor and Nicky. You did the best possible thing for him." Blaine was thankful Jeff had been the way to step up. He didn't know if he could of did that.

"Remind me never to get on Kurt's bad side okay? I would rather keep my heart in my chest."

They all looked over at David who was standing staring at Kurt.

"What? Are you saying you don't agree with me?"
