Nobody thought they would one day see Inazuma Japan, purposely hit somebody body with their special moves.
However, for a body like Desarm, what would have been the sight of obvious bullying had turned into observation of just how hard his body is.
No matter the attribute of the move, ice, water, Fire, Earth, Desarm skin remained squeaky clean.
He remained unmoving.
His body was amazing.
However, those observant began to realise, Desarm was in fact moving, the balls weren't bouncing off him, he was sending them back to a random player.
How else can you explain how the ball redirection was so precise?
The smart ones began moving to the ball and kicked it back before the ball could even hit the ground.
The instantly it was kicked, they felt the difference, the spin on the ball was much faster and the burden to the legs was lessened.
There was visible force seen when the ball hit his hand.
Indeed he was moving.
From there it progressed, as the former players of Inazuma Japan, kicked and did moves with this new method until normal people could eventually see that his hands were indeed moving to show them all the players had indeed gotten better.
But there was only so much stamina a human being can have, especially when you're using special moves.
Desarm was teaching them how to be better, all of the former players knew they couldn't beat him but what else could they do?
How do you react to facing somebody far beyond your league and losing means the wipeout of thousands of people?
How do you handle the realisation that you, your friends and your family are going to die here?
How are you suppose to react?
With anger?
Despair?
Frustration?
These emotions we're going into the ball.
Would you even want to kick the ball after feeling so useless?
Eventually, the balls stopped as they ran out of stamina, they were sweating and the camp was in despair.
And then four members began to walk.
Endou Mamoru.
Nosaka Yuuma.
Shirou Fubuki.
Kidou Yuuma.
All of them went to Desarm and did something shocking.
They bowed to him and said. "Thank you for teaching us!"
The whole camp was stunned into silence, including the players themselves.
Did they just hear right?
They were thanking Desarm?
He wanted them to starve to death!
Shirou said. "I've never met a person, that I couldn't strategist against"
Nosaka, Kidou agreed.
Endou said, smiling. "That was fun. I've never met somebody like you before. I even thought of a new special move thanks to you. I really want to receive a kick from you, Desarm."
Then the guy unbelievable said. "Are you free at 8?"
The moron wasn't thinking about how he or his families lives were at stake here, just soccer.
Everybody sweatdropped
It must be nice to be starving and yet, have so much energy.
Desarm stared before saying. "Yes, I am free at 8. I can even build a soccer field for you"
And then he took a step back.
Everybody was wide-eyed until they realised what he had just done.
"Did, he just..." said somebody.
"Take a step back?" Somebody finished.
Desarm said. "I didn't think any of you had it in you, but to think four of you have what I'm looking for...I am truly impressed"
And all of them were stunned.
"W-We passed?" Said Endou.
Desarm said. "Not only that, thanks to what you just showed me, I will be accepting all of your families as well." He then added. "To a certain extent"
And then all of them found a mark carved onto their hand and their family's got smaller marks.
He said. "Congratulations, the four of you." and then all of them began to teleport away, they teleported to a fancy warm room with a gift basket.
Those who were family did not have that gift basket or such a nice room, but it was leagues ahead of what they were provided at the camp.
Meanwhile, Desarm was dealing with copiers and people asking why he wouldn't move.
He said. "If you refuse to realise why I stepped back, then you will remain here until the day you die"
Those who heard were mad but the sun was going down and while they were mad at him, he just merely proclaiming that the time was up and then walked away, teleporting, even when somebody tried to touch him.
Then the screens switched and everybody who was chosen or connected found themselves with glorious food in front of their eyes.
They were all safe and going to survive.
However, there was trouble in Paradise.
Kidou sister, Otonashi Haruna said. "I refuse to eat this"
Everybody stopped and stared at her in shock.
Those watching were wide-eyed.
She then said. "This is wrong. Do you expect me to eat Duck while the whole world is scared? Eat food while the entire camp watches? You have all this food and supplies and yet, you're using it to play with people lives. Don't you think this is wrong even a little bit?"
Silence.
Those watching were wide-eyed.
The girl was sticking up for them.
She said. "Why don't you truly help us. Use what you have to help the camp, convince the others to help too. Help us secure time and resources to make a cure. We can reclaim the world together and bring everything back to normal. "
He said. "So in translation. Be this camps meat shield."
He saw the look on everybody faces but he continued. "Convince the others to be slaves to. Hand over all your resources, we don't care if you have to feed a whole town and yourself. Give it to us. We want it and then when the world is cured and we don't need you anymore, you'll be subjected to tests to find out why you call us, Human. End translation. Am I missing anything?"
Silence.
Dead silence.
He said. "You don't become me, without being able to read in-between the lines. A human heart... so easily manipulative, so easily swayed. Let's put your resolve to the test, shall we? How about a test for you?"
"A test?" Said one of them.
He then said, horrifically. "Let's see how far you'll go to help everybody. I will drop you far away from this camp, with no food, no protection, nobody will be with you or be able to find you. You will be out there for a week if you can survive for a week. I will make sure Alius helps you humans survive in this camp. Sounds fair right?"
The silence got louder.
What?
"Are you mad? You can't be serious. She will die out there!" said Kidou, her brother.
The girl suddenly looked scared.
The watchers looked afraid for her.
However, he said. "Whats, the problem? She is so resolved. If she stays quiet and is smart, then she can survive. By the end of the test, she would have saved millions of lives. Everybody here will live nice and comfortable lives until a cure is found. I'm sure, the camp will have no problem, having you do the test to save them. After all, you chose to speak up for them and lead the charge for a better life just now. If you die, you will be remembered honourably on a tombstone"
He then said. "You want to turn me into a Saviour then it's only fair that you do it too. Tell me, human. Are you willing to offer your life for the millions of humans, you just spoke up for? Are you willing to abandon the ones you have around you for millions of strangers who might not even show gratitude to you? Is your moral compass so strong that you are willing to die like a fool? Show the whole camp how strong your resolve is, human"
Silence.
She said. "...Alright I'll do it"
The others called her name, in shock.
She said, with tears forming. "I just can't do this, everybody. I can't live happily in Alius knowing that everybody around me died. We're all trying to live. I know I can't do anything on my own, but this is the only thing I can do"
He snapped his finger and she was gone, ending the touching moment.
They all stared at him in shock.
He said. "I don't know where she thought this was but its a pity she didn't even try to understand how I work"
And then a screen showed up and they saw the girl waking up outside and she saw Zombies crawling towards her.
She screamed for her brother and ran away.
Everybody was shocked.
He was really doing this.
He said. "Do you hear that? The sound of her begging her brother to save her from her own bad decision? Instead of sticking to her convictions. She is begging for somebody to join her in hell. She knows she screwed up. She is only now taking me seriously. This is your saviour, everybody. The Coward."
Dead silence.
He then said. "However, what are you all going to do now? Is any of you going to offer to join her in hell? Are you going to put your life on the line for this girl? How about those watching? Surely one of you is going to step up for the girl who chose to put her life on the line for you"
And Funny enough nobody said anything.
Those who were cheering the girl on before were now mysteriously silent and even some were looking the other way.
He then said. "How about you, oh, dead d
Brother of hers?" They turned to Kidou. "Will you go save her from her own choice and hope you both survive or will you show everybody that even you have a limit regarding your own sister? Are your human feelings stronger than your own life?"
Kidou said nothing, as they all heard her scream for her brother.
He said. "I'm not going to stop you from going to her. I don't care if you can't live without her. Either you live for yourself or die for her. It's your choice"
Silence.
Kidou finally said "I'm taking this food to my room"
They were all stunned as he got up.
He said. "I'm done bailing her out. I'm done making sacrifices for her"
Then he walked out with the food.
Endou went after him since he was more connected with the googles wearing genius than anything else.
The teen knocked on each door before hearing the guy's voice letting him in.
He went in and Kidou was on the bed, eating his food, while his sister was still running and begging for him to save her.
Endou sat down.
He mixed his food using a fork and said. "Do you know what the first conversation I had with my little sister was after so trying to track her down for so many years?"
Endou said. "I don't know what?"
He said. "It was bad."
Endou was stunned.
He said. "I remember it well. It was the day that I could finally give my sister an easy life. We could finally be together like before. But instead of responding with happiness, she was mad at me"
Endou was stunned.
He said. "She was mad at me because I didn't call sooner. She said I abandoned her when in reality, I allowed myself to be adopted so that we can have a nice life together. Sure, Ray Dark was evil but I could finally give my sister that great life if I listened to him. Sure, the split was hard but there wasn't a day that went by where I didn't think of her. Once I was a worthy heir, there will be no problem taking her in. I told her all this. But she didn't want to hear it. Even when I promised to be back, she told me I abandoned her. Add what Ray Dark was doing, she was so angry"
Endou listened.
He said. "That's why I tried so hard to show her that I wasn't such a terrible guy. I tried my best and it worked. I could finally see her. She had forgiven me"
He then said. "But our relationship wasn't the same"
Endou was stunned.
He said. "She had grown up. She was no longer bullied. She had grown this strong backbone. She had become so amazing. She was now surrounded by so many people when it just used to be us. I honestly felt like I was some random guy she just happened to share the same blood with. Everything between us was so forced. I envied you, Endou"
Endou said. "You did?"
He said. "She had the biggest relationship with you the most. I couldn't even come close to that. I was no longer number 1. I wasn't even 5th"
Endou said. "Kidou..."
He said. "That's why when she was in trouble and she latched on to me, I was so happy. I thought she needed me. I thought all my years of sacrifice wasn't in vain. We can go back to how things were before"
Then he paused.
He said. "I should have left, the instant I realised I was basically a stranger"
Endou was wide-eyed.
He said. "Things have gotten out of her hand. I am always protecting her. Always sacrificing myself for her. Always thinking about her. You've seen me. When I'm invited to somewhere, I always ask her if she would like to come along. And somewhere along the way, I realised she was taking advantage of me. She was keeping me on a hook"
He then said sorrowfully. "I was the person who made the problems go away. She would never have to work because she can just call and I'll give her money. Not many people have that. I wanted to leave so bad"
Tears rolled down his goggles.
He said. "But I was afraid of being a bad big brother. I was afraid to acknowledge that the person I had been chasing was gone. I was afraid to just live life. Even now, I was constantly sharing my food with her even though I needed it"
Silence.
He said. "That's why, when I heard that she was willing to sacrifice her life for people we've never met before, I was done. She clearly didn't think about me at all. She was my only blood family left and yet she was making a deal with Desarm. When I heard her shouting my name. I just had to walk away"
Which explained his behaviour.
Then he turned and said. "Does the fact that I want to live instead of saving somebody who jumped into a pity of Zombies. Make me a bad person?"
Silence.
And Endou said. "No. No, it does not"
He said. "Then please stay with me. I know my sister isn't going to last long. I can feel it. I don't want to be alone when I realise I'm the only one left"
And Endou said. "Sure"
And they stayed.
Otonashi Haruna died 2 hours later and Kidou bawled.
It was the first time, everybody realised just how terrible the world had become.
