Chapter 25: Common ground and forgiveness.

One week, it had been one week since lilith's birthday. One week of depression, one week without Luca. The boy had been distant since the incident and lilith didn't know why.
The witch paced the floor back and forth fretting over the potential that Luca doesn't love her anymore. Did I do something wrong? Did I say something wrong? Luca would only talk to her in short senteances and this made the witch deeply upset.
"Geez sis, take sit before you burn a hole in my floor." Eda stated sitting on her futon and reading a magazine.
"Edalyn, what if Luca hates me?"
"He doesn't hate you, you're just too clingy."
"Edalyn! He obviously doesn't want to be near me." Lilith was on verge of tears as her eyes began to water.
A door shuts upstairs and moments later Luca comes down, his hair a mess.
"well good morning sleepy head, this is the seventh night in a row you've slept in." Eda stated not even looking up at Luca.
Luca came down the stairs and Lilith stepped in front of him.
"Luca, my beloved prince. Would you mind if I brushed your hair, I'd think it would look so handsome if it was tamed."
Luca shrugged, "I'm just grabbing a bite lilith, excuse me." He walked past lilith and grabbed a carton of appleblood and some breakfast leftovers.
Lilith was red faced and followed luca as he sat at the table. "Luca, I was thinking, we should go to the hot springs when they're at their best… I have a brochure right here." Eda added a picture of her in her sexiest underwear in a pose that eda told her would make most boys jaws drop.
"I just want to go to bed lilith." Luca didn't take the brochure.
Lilith froze and her face grew still. "you're breaking my heart… my beloved prince."
"Ahem, Luca can we talk now?' Luz asked, havign snuck up behind Lilith.
"Of course Lulu, anything for you." Luca rose and left his meal to follow luz upstairs.
Lilith meanwile stamped her foot and sat on couch and ugly cried into her hands.
"Ah sis, don't cry, it's going to be okay." Eda was uncomfortable with Lilith showing so much negative emotion.
"H-he hates m-me… I know he does." Lilith was bawling into eda's shoulder.
"Sis, he doesn't hate you… he's just going through a lot… he did see his mom's corpse get turned to stone."
Lilith rose and anger flashed on her face. "then he should talk to me about it! I'm his girlfriend! Now he doesn't want me…" she wailed louder falling to her knees.
"Listen Sis, if I can help you make up with your boyfriend will you stop crying?"
Lilith forze and pouted nodding her head. "Hmmhumm," she moaned.
Eda groaned as she lilith's hand and led her upstairs.
She noticed that lilith's make up was ruined due to her tears s mascara ran down her face. I swear I will never fall in love, the fact that someone as strong as lilith was this much of a wreck for a guy showed the dangers out letting someone in.
Even if I wanted too, no man wants an old hag like me. Eda thought, now feeling a deep well in her stomach.
They stood just outside the two siblings rooms and Eda pressed her ear to the door and called lilith over.
Lilith placed her ear to the door and they used magic to make it easier to hear.
"Luca, we need to do this… for her." Luz pleaded.
"No, no! I'm not hearing this…" Luca replied, he sounded to be in despair.
"Luca, I know it hurts, but it's the only way we can heal… she wouldn't want us to wallow in pain."
"No! I'm not doing!" The sound of a crash cuaght the two witch sisters attention.
They opened the door to see the window in the room was smashed and luz was looking out of it with tears in her eyes.
"Kid? What's going on." Eda asked.
"w-we have to find luca." Luz whispered.
"we'll split up… lilith, luz, let' go."
they all ran outside the house and combed the woods. Eda was the best tracker of the group and could smell luca she followed the scent to the edge of the woods where the boy was crying on a rock near the river bed.
"Luca?" Eda asked taking a few hesitant steps to the boy.
"Go away!" He yelled over his shoulder.
Eda clenched her fist and glared at the boy. "I know your in pain but you need to know that you brought lilly to tears and now you run away… what's wrong with you."
Luca turned his gaze from eda and returned to his tears.
Eda sat on the rock with him and placed her arms around him. "look kid, I know what it's like to feel terrible so listen to me when I say… it gets better if you talk with someone you trust."
"L-luz, wants to have a funeral for our mom next week… on her birthday." He cried "it was supposed to be her fortieth, we would joke about her growing old, go to the sub place we all liked, and then enjoy a party… b-but I'll never get to do that again."
Eda froze and her body shook… she knew what this feeling was like… she felt the same way the day she lost her mother.
"i-i don't want to forget her… if I do the funeral, I'll have to accept she's gone forever."
Eda grabbed the boy in a tight grip holding him close and making sure he knew she was her.
The boy returned her embrace and cried into her shoulder.
She patted his head and rubbed his back. "sssh, it's okay, I'm here, let it all out." She said in a calming tone.
After couple minutes luca calmed down and looked up. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."
"Now you hush, you're griefing and it's hard to resist the urge to lash out at the world that hurt but I would like you to apologize to lilith if you don't mind."
Luca nodded his head and they returned to the house where lilith and luz were waiting.
Luz ran to him and gave her brother a hug. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pushed so hard."
"it's okay lulu, I'm sorry for getting upset and I think it'd be best if we start preparing the funeral."
Luz nodded her head and walked away to see lilith with her mascara still running down her face.
"Oh my raven haired angel, I've made you cry and feel sorrow… I'm so sorry." Luca said taking a cople steps toward lilith. "I understand if you hate m–" Lilith pressed her lips to luca and they shared their first passionate kiss in a week. They let each other do what came natural and luca did something surprising, he grabbed liliths rear and gave it a little pinch causing the witch to jump.
"wow, I can't believe I went a week without that."
"it was torture for me luca, I love you and I need you."
"I think you and I need to get away from this… how's about you and me hit those hot springs."
Lilith smiled and lifted luca up they both shared around of kissing confirming they were going.
Meanwhile eda looked at the two lovebirds and smiled at that. I'm proud of you sis, you found a keeper… I wish I could find someone who loved me for me. Eda had been with a lot fo losers in her time and she realized that she waited too long for her prince charming. No one wants an old hag like me.
