Chapter 27: The Wake of Camilia Nocenda

I see you have come back for another chapter of the harem anime owl house… thank you and I am sorry for the cringe. It was a brisk autumn day when the owl house gang had managed to gather. Each of them were dressed for the occasion.
Eda and luca wore a black suit and tie, Luz and lilith a black dress.
They all had their heads bowed before the freshly dug grave. Folding chairs were placed in a half circle around the plot and a podium was placed in front of it.
Everyone took their seats save for eda who stood behind the podium.
"we are gathered here today to remember camilia nocenda. Witch, friend, and mother. She is survived by her two children luca and luz." Eda's eyes began to water and she grasped the edge of the podium trying to stay strong.
"what can I say about cammie other then… she was my friend, my common sense. Just as willing to talk you out of a crazy plan as fix you up after you went through with it anyway. She was a healer, a good person, and though she is no longer on this earth… I know she is proud of what her children have become." Eda left the podium wiping her eyes as she sat next to luz.
Luz then rose from her sit and stood behind the podium.
Hooty meanwhile rubbed up close to Luca crying into his shoulder. Luca ignored him as he watched his sister talk.
"My mom was a hero… she saved many lives in the human realm. She always tried to help people and if I could take back half the things I said about her… then I would… I miss my mother but I know she is happy that me and luca are safe." Luz left the podium and ran her sit next to luca who patted her back.
Lilith was next she rose with a dignified grace to the podium and stood at attention. "though I didn't know camilia all that well. I know she was a good mother… for she raised the man who saved me from myself… it was her son who taught me to love myself and for that I am forever grateful. Rest in peace camilia." Lilith walked away from the podium and went to luca.
The boy took a few shaky steps toward the podium. No matter how much he prepared he wasn't ready for this… he couldn't be.
"w-what, c-can I s-say about m-my Mom, she was my world… I loved her and she loved me and luz. After m-my dad passed I became the man of the house and i-i tried to take as m-much of the burden off her as I could. I-i I'm sorry, I c-can't do this… I miss my mother… and I hope she is in a better place." luca held his face In his hand crying.
He walked back to his seat and lilith held him close holding him there. She kissed his forehead.
The four rose from their seat and grabbed a picture that luz had of camilia, her, and luca at the beach. They place the picture in a small casket and lower it into the grave.
Everyone used a spell cirlce to make the dirt go in and Luca along with luz placed a rose on Thier on mothers grave.
"adios mama, te amo." they both said looking down at the grave,
while the kids were saying their final goodbyes to their mother lilith walked up to a brooding edalyn who was behind her house crying.
"edalyn, I must speak with you." Lilith said, placing her hand on her crying sister's shoulder.
Eda rose and wiped her face. "yes lilly, what can I do for you?"
"seeing the luca and his sister say goodbye to their mother has got me thinking."
"And?"
"and I think we should hold a similar service for our mother." Lilith responded.
"Our mother isn't dead… the answer is no." Eda turned her back to lilith and stormed off.

the dark underbelly of the castle was home to the garden of stone which was full of statues of those who defied the empress's will.
The empress stood in front of the statue of darius a former coven leader before she took over and she was using her magic on it. She had tried with many other statues before it including darius's fellow covenheads. She eventually managed to get the statue to glow bright red.
It hadn't shattered yet as she used her finnesse to make the magic enter the stone at will but one thing captured her attention… the clearing of someones throat.
"My empress?" Lenore called bowing before her and startling the empress.
A surge of power shot through the statue and it exploded in a shower of stone.
"what is it!" she screamed before calming down and returning to her calm serpentine voice. "My champion."
Both odalia and lenore stood before her and they looked at each other then back at her.
"you called for us your excellency." odalia explained.
"I did? Oh yes, the incident at the bathhouse."
"That was lenore's vault! She's the one who attacked lilith and caused luca to flee."
"Me! You were the one trying to force luca into your arms… guilting him."
"Enough! You both acted inapprobiately in front of the boy… defying my orders to not interact with him." the empress shouted before turning her head to the destroyed statue of darius as his head rolled near her foot. "and now you disturb my research."
The empress stomps on the stone head, crushing it under foot.
"please forgive us your excellency."
"I shall, you are not to interact with luca or any of the owl lady's wards including lilith… understand?"
The two bowed their heads and said, "yes empress."
"Good, dismissed!"
They both left as the empress returned to her research thinking that she would try her magic on eberwolf next… she always hated how that thing looked anyway.
