Chapter 29: Aprohocherry picking

Another day in the owl house, another day of watching the love birds be adorable with each other. That is what eda thought as she watch ed two feed each other cereal.'
"You know Lilith, I love me a girl with a healthy apetite." luca commented using a spoon to feed lilith.
Once the witch swallowed her meal, she smiled. "I figured, you're trying to make me fat with the sugar you give me… especially the sweet taste of your lips."
"you, fat? Never, you'll look beautiful forever." Luca said.
"Oh you, come here." lilith brought luca to her and their mouths embraced for another round of kissing with tongue.
Lilith wore a big frown as she watched lovers share their passion.
Luz watched intensely smiling at her brothers open display of affection.
"Oh Luca, that was th best kiss I've ever had, have you been practicing?"
"Only on you Lilypad." Luca gave a mischievous grin. "and I know where you like to be kissed." luca then pressed his lips on the soft spot of Lilith's neck then began rolling his tongue around it making her moan in pleasure.
"Luca, you animal… If you keep up like this I'm going to melt. "Lilith said her body frozen from sheer pleasure.
Luca in response ran his hands down lilith's back and when he got to her bottom he gave it a small pinch making her jump.
"Oh long are you going to grope me and not follow it up with sex… it's like your trying to tease me at this point."
Luca smiled pulling away from his kiss. "Maybe I am."
"You little bastard…" Lilith smiled.
Eda hummed in sadness which drew Lilith's attention.
"edalyn all this affection has me craving something sweet… do we have any aphrocherries left?"
"Let me check," Edalyn said rising from the table slumped over. She looked in the cabinet where she would keep them and shook her head when she opened the door. "nope we're out."
"Can you get me some, little sis… please." lilith begged,
Eda groaned and shook her head. "that is a two day journey on staff and I'd need to bring someone with me."
"How about Luca?"
"What?" both Luca and Eda said in unison.
"He's strong and he can help you collect."
"Ugh, if you say so sis… be ready to leave in one hour luca." Eda ran up the stairs to grab her stuff.
Once edalyn was out of ear shot Luca glared at lilith. "what the heck lilypad?"
Lilith had a mischievous grin. "what? This si your chance to admit to edalyn how you really feel."
"I can't it's too embarrassing… please don't make me."
"Luca, if you don't do this then I'll cry… do you want to see me cry?" Lilith asked.
"you won't cry," luca replied confident when he turned his head to lilith she was already gasping sadly and her eyes were watering.
"stop it," Luca ordered.
Lilith began let out a soft cries.
"I'm warning you," Luca knew his resolve was weakening.
Lilith then put the final nail in coffin. She turned from him and cried in her sleeve.
Her sobs broke Luca's. "Hey, lilypad." Luca walked up to comfort her but she pulled away from him.
"Hey, Lilypad, I'll do it okay, please stop crying."
Lilith turned her mascara running crying. "you promise." she asked in a baby tone.
"Of course now quit with the tears… you'll ruin your pretty face." Luca kissed her forehead then rubbed her back.
Lilith hugged Luca and kissed his cheek. "Then you better pack… I'll be preparing a little dance for you when you get back… I've been watching Some human tapes eda had and learned about a thing called lap dancing and I want to try it."
Luca went bright red. "well I better not keep eda waiting. I love you my angel" Luca ran off with a chuckling Lilith shaking her head.
"That boy is putty in my hands when I'm upset." she smiles. "and I love him for that."
Both luca and eda ready themselves for the cherry picking and as Luca began to seat himself on the staff lilith ran out and handed him a baggy.
"A lunch? Thank you lilly." Luca replied kissing her cheek.
"there actually chocolate chip cookies in the shape of hearts, share them with eda… it's our mothers receipt and also her favorites." Lilith whispered handing Luca the bag.
Luca nodded his head as he and eda flew off to the aphrocherry grove.
The ride there was a long quiet ride but during the second night of them camping Luca and eda sat across the campfire. Both were nervous not wanting to make the first move.
Eda would not meet luca's eyes and Luca was locked on the fire.
Eda eventually cleared her throat. "so, uh, why haven't you had sex with my sister yet?"
Luca coughed in shock and immediately reddened. "I, why are you asking me that?"
"I don't know, because you've been datign for almost a month and you obviously don't mind getting touchy feely on her body… so why no sex… are you one of those people who don't want to have sex?"
"No, i-i just want to wait…"
"On…?"
"Marriage, I want my first time to be with the woman I married… I don't want to cheapen it on someone who I'm not married too and with the way lilith treats me and who she is I think I am going to pop the question… soon."
Eda immediately regreated asking the question. "so you really love her that much huh?"
"More then anything… but why are you so interested? You always got annoyed by our displays… do you have someone your in love with?"
eda immediately clamed up and turned her head. "No, I don't… at least not someone who'd want me." she looked toward the fire.
"I think any man would be lucky to have you… you and your sister are the kindest woman i've ever met."
Both eda and luca went red when he said that.
"well, i-i'm glad you feel that way… I need to lie down." Eda rose and went to her sleeping bag.
Luca berated himself in his head. She doesn't like you like that… your being too forward. Lilith is a prize of a woman but eda was more experienced in having romantic partners and thus had a lot of men who would break her heart or use her… thus she knows that she has to keep her heart guarded. And you try to force yourself on her by saying corny stuff like that.
Like it or not luca was still inexperienced in outright showing affection and could over do it. He had to learn to do it in moderation.
The boy laid down on his bedroll and went to sleep. I love you eda… can it really be that hard to say to her.
The next day the two arrived at the sight eda flew in near the patch of cherries and smiled rubbing her hands together.
"Looks lik the guardian isn't here… score… bring the baskets." Eda called already picking the berries from the vine.
Luca brought the two baskets to eda and helped her fill them up. "Now when you say guardian… do you mean wise sphinx or fire breathing dragon… is it in those ball parks."
"No, the guardian is a giant baby with a bow and arrow."
"Oh like cupid?"
"Yeah if cupid's arrows could kill you in the span of a heartbeat. One shot and you have about 1 hour before your dead and there is no antidote to it at least none that I've found."
Luca groaned tugging his collar and shaking his head.
Once the baskets were full of berries both luca and eda grabbed the berries then ran to staff.
Before they could reach owlbert a shadow fell over them and an arrow landed between the staff and the witches.
"Oh no, run!" Eda yelled but luca turned his back to see the guardian.
He was a seven foot tall cherub like baby with bright red skin and a long curly tail it had a five foot tall bow with three foot arrows in his quiver. The arrow tips were black as sin and seemed to dripped with a strange green substance.
Luca turned his head to where the arrow landed to see the ground around it blacken. Luca shook his head and ran with eda.
The baby aimed it's arrows and fired, the shot barreled towards luca.
Eda noticed this and pushed luca out of the way as Eda got scrapped on her arm. "Oh no,"
"Eda!" Luca ran to her and stood over her.
The poison began to blacken eda's veins as they projected. "i'm sorry luca, I'm so… sorry." Eda passed out in Luca's arms as he held her close.
The baby flew overhead and loomed over the two… but it did not fire. It just watched as luca held eda close crying…
"Eda. Eda! Please wake up! I-i love you! I never got a chance to say it and I know you don't like me back… but I love you! I've loved you since you helped me save luz… please wake up." Luca yelled in sorrow holding the witch close.
The baby giggled and turned in a circle then clapped it's hands.
"t-this is funny to you!? You're a monster! All we wanted was the cherries! M-my teacher is dead because of you!"
The baby reached intoa pouch of it's quiver and pulled out a small vial. It was pinkish white and as big as a 2 liter of soda.
"Is this… the antidote?" Luca asked looking at the baby who flew off.
"Here eda drink this." he feed eda the antidote and he watched the black veins recede as her eyes shot open.
"Luca! L-luca, what happened?"
"I don't know, I just yelled at the baby and he gave me the antidote."
Eda smiled "well let's not look a gift horse in the mouth let's get lilly her cheries back."
The two got back on their staff and flew toward the owl house.
Luca held on tight to eda and she blushed when he flew asleep in her thick main.
When the two returned it was midday and eda was carrying a sleeping luca.
"I love this kid, but I know he's happy with lilly. I may never call you my man… but I'll happily call you my brother in law."
Luca stirred awake and smiled that they had returned.
"thanks for saving me eda, your a really great teacher… I love you so much." Luca wrapped his arms around eda but immediately let her go… "I mean, your cool and I love you as a friend."
Eda let him go and smiled then ran up to her room… blushing red.
"Luca, My prince has returned!" Lilith exclaimed running up and wrapping her arms around his neck. "I've missed having you warming me in my bed and I've been lonely…"
Luca kissed her on the lips holding her close. "I missed you lilypad… say how's about a nice hot shower… just the two of us."
"Ooohoohoo… I'd love that… now tell me… did you admit to eda how you feel?"
"No," Luca said disappointed. "I don't think she's interested."
"well tell me, how was the cherry picking."
"It was good until eda got shot with a poison arrow."
"How did she survive that?"
"I yelled at the baby and told eda how I felt while she was passed out and then he laughed and gave me the antidote."
Lilith smiled because she knew that the guardian was there to keep the unworthy from eating the cherries… and to be found worthy… you must be willing to die for the one you love.
"Lilith our bath awaits. And it's been two whole days since I've worshiped the temple that is your body." Luca said seductively bridle carrying the red faced lilith.
