The scene now showed TME while he was near Atomsk while he had a smile on his face.
"So… the long awaited Finale?... may have been a bit rushed here or there but were at the home stretch… and hey at the 40th chapter to boot… not bad if I say so myself." TME said when he looks at Atomsk.
"Yes indeed. Guess this will be the second story we completed… Granted you did more work on the first… hmmm… 30 somethingish chaps." Atomsk said.
"Hmmm… more like 33 to 36?... you joined in when we did Amy's birthday party thing right?" TME asked when he rubs his chin a bit.
"Uh yeah… I believe so." Atomsk said.
"Yeah… so… got another IOU again huh? Aren't we like second chapter in on the first 5 chapters you owe me?" TME said when he smirks at Atomsk.
Atomsk has a half lidded look.
"Very funny."
"Eh its kinda funny… tell you what, after we finish TDS we will do something on your end for a turn before we decide the next three chapters on my end… could be chrono Jump, ANVK, or something else… my choice on your end is the one with Blood is thicker than bonds since thats been a long time coming." TME said when he grins at Atomsk more.
"Hmmm… alright, fair enough." Atomsk said.
"Great… anyway since this is the finale before we end the Prequel arc for good… may as well explain two things… one at the end of this there will be a big lemon galore with many characters… but beforehand expect a lot of action… not as one sides as Emerald getting nearly killed by Steel in the 39th chapter… hmm… hey Atomsk think the 39th chapter was rushed here or there?" TME said when he looks at Atomsk.
"Hmmm… Nah. Granted it wasn't that long, we finish this chap with a Big Bang of sorts." Atomsk said.
"Yup… may or may not be within 25 doc pages given this is the finale… want to say something before we start?" TME said when he grins at Atomsk.
Atomsk was thoughtful.
"I say it was fun doing this story. Not sure if we're doing a sequel to this prequel… besides DDS (either original or remake), but either way, let's make it an ending that no one will forget." He said while grinning.
"Hehe, oh believe me, there will be sequels before DDS and stuff and the ending here is one I've been thinking of for years… lets end this with a shocker!" TME said while he punched a fist into his open hand while he had a serious look.
"Yeah!" Atomsk said.
"Good… and dear readers… again thank you for being so patient until the end… for now… enjoy the prequel arc's ending…" TME said as the scene went to Angel Island… more exact… Emerald's mind.
Emerald's mind/ ?/ Emerald
Emerald on his end groans when he opened his eyes… he found himself in his mind with him in a large field… he would have said much but he grits his teeth in frustration when he remembered what happened.
"Fuck… fucking hell… all that training… and I get my ass handed to me on a fucking platter… why the fuck can't I do anything right!" Emerald said while he hits the ground with his fist.
Though he did hear chuckling nearby which made him look over to see Nocturn in his human form in his mind.
"More like getting your ass blown off by a missle." Nocturn said while Emerald blinks as Nocturn approached him with a casual look on his face.
"You some kind of hallucination before I die or you really Nocturn… thought you were kicked into one of Robotnik's cells." Emerald said as he got up to look at Nocturn.
"No… not dreaming. I am the real Nocturn. I was able to get out of that cursed cell… despite the pain to get to you. Right now the Spirit of the Master and I are doing everything we can to get you up and running again." Nocturn said.
"Seriously?... what good would that do though if I get my ass kicked again?... sure you could say I was off guard thanks to everything that happened but… ever since I got here its been one issue after the other apparently… I don't have all my memories but I can see a pattern of me getting my ass kicked, me getting stronger, me getting my ass kicked again… I mean its like some kind of sick joke in a story… seriously if this is a thing… those Authors better get some new material because I don't like getting blown up!" Emerald said while he rubs his head.
Meanwhile in the real world of sorts.
"Crap… he's getting a six sense TME." Atomsk said.
TME facepalms before he just snapped his fingers and the scene went back to Emerald's mind.
"Well if this is a story, pretty sure it will have a happy end… unfortunately not all sunshine and rainbows." Nocturn said as his form flickered a bit.
"Nocturn?... whats going on?" Emerald asked when he looks confused as Nocturn looks at his hand which flickered again though he smiles.
"Simple… I'm fading so to speak but not in a bad way… pretty much making you my successor… wouldn't last a few more days with my gem body in its current state and minutes now after I busted free from that cell… cracked my body into near pieces." Nocturn said while Emerald got wide eyes as he looked down.
"Not again… every time I seemingly get a power boost something like this happens… fucking cursed is what I feel like." Emerald said while he felt like he would cry right now.
"I'm sorry Emerald. But I'm willing to make the ultimate sacrifice here. Right now, your friends need your help." Nocturn said.
"And what can I do as I am?... I would just get nearly killed again." Emerald said while Nocturn sighs and he hits Emerald on the head making him crouch on the ground while he held his head.
"O-OW!" Emerald said when Nocturn wasn't gentle with that hit.
"Sorry… but you needed that." Nocturn said.
"And how is giving me a concussion going to help!" Emerald said though he noticed many fragments of… memories floating about him now?
"Funny you should mention that… knocked some old memories loose… may as well give a few partting gifts since I can't give power I can do something else." Nocturn said while he looks amused as Emerald looks at the fragments… he saw some memories flash in those fragments and many of them result in Emerald seeing things from his own POV of sorts, honestly he was surprised at how many memories were fragmented from him as many lines came from the ground to link up with them.
"What the!?" Emerald said as Nocturn smiles at the memories when he saw a few with himself in Gem form in them.
"Hehe… nice memories… but like I said… can't give much power… pretty much running on fumes… so I'm giving you my memories somewhat and rebuilding your old memories by pulling them back together… finally… well… can't say much else… all I can say is that I'm not dying… I'm technically just passing the torch so to speak… maybe unofficial since Kuro is around but lets just say that you'll be a new kind of being soon." Nocturn said when his form flickered more while Emerald looks at him with confusion and worry.
"What do you mean and new being?" Emerald said while Nocturn smiles more when he felt like time was up.
"Eh… you'll find out… just do me a favor and try and not cry for me until you rescue the others first." Nocturn said while his form starts to break down as Emerald got wide eyes and he rushed towards Nocturn with a hand outstretched while a vision in Nocturn's vision showed a much stronger Emerald leading many on a much bigger Angel City easing his worries quite a bit and Nocturn had one final thought as he went to rest as time slowed for the soon to be former Elemental of Darkness.
'Do me proud Emerald.' Nocturn thought with a smile.
After that… Nocturn fades as the linked fragments flowed around Emerald while they flew into his head showing all of his memories flowing in his head… the missing pieces as he woke to reality.
Angel Island/ Master Emerald shrine/ Emerald
Emerald woke with a start with a gasp.
"Nocturn!" Emerald called out when he sat up.
He was in the rain right now and when he looked down he saw instead of being legless… he had a full body again… his clothes were mended and well… they were his initial look with the trench coat mixed with his current look but he held his head as memories flashed in his head making his head feel so much pain when he slowly get to his feet.
"U-Ugh…" Emerald groans while he saw himself picking up Nocturn in one memory…
He opened his eyes as more memories flashed in his head… his entire life back in his home world… his family… the friends he made ever since he made his jump to Angel Island… the fight with Steel… the Trial of Blades… pretty much everything...
Emerald than saw an empty cracked Gem while he had wide eyes as he shakingly reached for it… it was Nocturns gem like body…
"Its not a dream." Emerald heard when he heard the Spirit near him.
When Emerald looked over, he had a shocked look on his face while the Spirit had a soleum one when it looked at the remains of Nocturn's former prison.
"N-Not… a… dream?" Emerald said while he looks at Nocturn's former body and noticed a gentle green glow from his chest… when he looks he saw a massive gem embedded in his chest while the Spirit looks on quietly for a moment.
"I'm afraid not. Nocturn knew the risk but still took it anyway to save you." The Spirit said.
"So… he.. Is gone?" Emerald said while the Spirit shakes its head.
""No… not in the way you think… you probably already know it deep down…" The Spirit said while Emerald looks at the Gem like prison that Nocturn used to reside in as his hands shake while many memories of Nocturn starts to surface.
From his first meeting all the way up to now… thanks to Nocturn all of those memories were back and fresh in his mind… so much so that Emerald's body shook while he fought to not cry for a moment.
"...Right now your friends need help." Nocturn's memory said which caused Emerald to throw his head back and actually cry right as his new gem like core flash green as he flashed in a Chaos control like way while the Spirit looks on and looks at the Sky base when the rain startst to clear before the Spirit fades while waiting for the end of this battle.
Sky base/ main platform/ Robotnik, Steel, Neo Metal, Metal monster, Sonic, Knuckles, Amy, Tails, Cream, Vanilla, Chise, Lillum, Rouge, Shunpei, Pluton, Zack fair (Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core version)
"Hehe, I'm pretty sure since no one came up yet either both of them are dead or one of them at least and the other is crying over the body of the other." Steel said when he finally saw Angel Island below when the clouds broke.
However, just when many start to worry more… a flash of light appeared in the middle of the area and well… many were shocked to see a restored Emerald while he held something hard to see in his hands while he had… a massive fragment of a gem in his chest… this caused many of the Metal's and even Steel to get readings of insane levels of Chaos energy while many who could sense Aura felt Emerald's Aura and… well… massive was an understatement… like night and day when you compare what he was like before to what he was now.
"E-Emerald?" Cream said as Robotnik was flabbergasted.
"Impossible! He should be dead!"
Steel however grins when he noticed something.
"Well not quite… seems someone did kick it… though who are you… Emerald… or Nocturn?" Steel said cryptically while Emerald was oddly quiet.
Sonic and the others blinked in confusion.
"What are you talking about you rust bucket? It's clearly Emerald." Zack said.
"Yeah, he is standing right here." Lillum said when she growls at Steel.
"Hehe… you all don't get it do you?... really wished the Elementals or Xan were here… they would get this… after all… we have a new Elemental it seems… though not of Darkness it seems… no…" Steel said as Emerald speaks.
"Shut up…" Emerald said with a quiet tone… but the killing intent was more intense than any killing intent he unleashed before.
The group did shudder when they felt the intent. Even Robotnik could feel it.
Robotnik even tried to use some kind of system to try and drain the Chaos Energy from Emerald when many pylons rised from the ground, seems he did that in case of a Super Sonic moment.
Though while green energy was drained from Emerald… he turned towards Steel as many saw in Emerald's hand Nocturn's prison… empty.
"I… am Emerald… successor of Nocturn… but I can't call myself an Elemental of Darkness… no… not with the power I got… but… you can call me a new type of Elemental… one made by the Master Emerald with this core you all see… a fragment of the Master Emerald…" Emerald said as more energy was drained from him yet he didn't seem effected as the pylons sparked in a bad way as each one shattered or malfunctioned when Emerald looks at Steel fully while Nocturn's prison broke apart and Emerald clinched his hands after it was gone.
"I… am Emerald…" Emerald said when he starts to power up when more pylon's broke.
Emerald than unleashed so much energy that all of the pylon's shattered.
"AND I'M A FUCKING ELEMENTAL OF CHAOS!... AND I AM WAY BEYOND FUCKING PISSED!" Emerald roars with such fury and he shot forward with such speed that when he slugged Steel, his head was nearly taken off as he was launched back and through many Metal's in one blow while Emerald had a cold look on his face when he lands on his feet.
He than looks at Robotnik with a colder look.
"When I'm finished with Steel I'll be coming to rip your skull from your body… better hope Steel can take me as is Robotnik because I can assure you I'll make you suffer." Emerald growled while he looks back to where Steel lands as he laughs as he knocked off some Metals on his body.
"Hahaha! This is rich! Finally a real challenge." Steel said while laughing like a madman.
"Shut up!" Rouge said.
"Yeah, who cares about your battle craze!" Chise said while shaking a fist.
Steel however ignored Rouge and Chise to fire some kind of barrage of bullets at Emerald and shockingly… he didn't dodge and the attacks went through various parts of his body… even his head and while he did start to fall back… his body jolts with energy and he moved a foot back to keep himself from falling and when he looks at Steel who looks shocked for the first time, Emerald said this while gaping holes in his body start to heal.
"Whats the matter?... surprised a guy can't die?... I know the feeling when you keep showing up... surprised myself when so much info flooding my head about this filled me… let me give you a general idea of how fucked you, Robotnik, and his creations are… as long as the Master Emerald exists… I exist… if you destroy my core… I respawn from the Master Emerald itself with a fresh fragment while the Master Emerald regrows itself… its a way to circumvent that trade off for reviving people… in a nutshell… I am the Master Emerald's arms and legs!... its fucking Avatar of Chaos itself… bit much but with how much info I'm getting… this is the easiest explanation… I'm the New Chaos while the old Chaos sleeps." Emerald said while he glared at Steel as he starts to walk towards the android and Metal army as Emerald held a hand up while many balls of green energy formed over him.
"I guess if you want an even simpler answer… I'm just like you… a monster in a human form." Emerald said as he lowered his hand and many bolts of Chaos were shot at the Metals destroying most aside from Monster Metal and Neo Metal who got near Robotnik to guard him as Emerald looks at Steel who… grins more at this development.
Cream though spoke up.
"No Emerald. You're not a monster!" She said.
"HAHAHAHA!... you kidding kid!... he took some bullets from me and to the fucking head, healed up, and pretty much wiped out a damned army… if he isn't a monster than what is?" Steel said while Emerald had shadows covered his eyes.
"No… Cream is right… I'm no monster…" Emerald said but he then said this oddly enough.
"I'm way too weak to be considered one… time after time… guys like you always seem to one up me… harm my friends… my loved ones… and it's only when I gain a power boost after someone is harmed or killed that I seem to change things up which shows how weak I am… and this time… there is no bringing Nocturn back… he is deep inside of me resting now… no… your definition of Monster and my definition are vastly different Steel…" Emerald said while his body crackles with energy.
"You're a monster who pretty much kills for fun… torments others… out to look for a strong opponent no matter the cost… me…" Emerald said as Steel got up and Emerald took one step forward while his arms were covered in a black and green aura with starlight sparks as his eyes glowed with a green light.
"For me… the Monster I picture that I want to be… is one who won't lose… not to you… Aggro… Bordux… anyone… to protect what's important… after I break you… kill Robotnik… I'll train… train like I haven't trained before even if it killed me since I CAN'T die now so I can protect what I care for… and I could care less what anyone thinks if being a monster is good or bad for me… to fight guys like you… Aggro… and other strong Monsters… I'll need to become something similar to that… I have no choice unless I want my loved ones ripped from me again… and I won't let that happen… I won't make a promise that I broke when I lost Nocturn that I'll protect people from here on out… no… I'll make a promise that I'll train to get to that point… when I can protect others without fail… is when I make this promise… that I'll make sure no one else gets harmed when I'm around… I'm no hero thats for damned sure because a Hero wouldn't do what I'm about to do to Robotnik… a Hero wouldn't enjoy ripping you apart Steel… a Hero wouldn't enjoy letting all of his anger, rage, and frustration out in this fight… so you better bring your A Game… because if you don't… this will be a fast battle." Emerald said while his Aura bursts even more with a serious look on his face while he stared Steel down after his speech that many heard.
As everyone else was shocked, Steel grins wildly.
"Challenge accepted." He said.
A moment later, Steel held his hand out while the Chaos Emerald's float from Robotnik and float around him while Steel powered up greatly while Emerald made no move to stop him as he grins more while Emerald had a cold look in his eyes.
"Emerald, what are you doing?! This freak is about to use the Emeralds!" Sonic said.
Emerald was quiet while the Emerald's spun faster.
"This feeling… no nowhere near Aggro… nowhere near Bordux… comparing them… they make Steel look like nothing… call me arrogant… call me whatever you will Sonic… but I want to make Steel pay… and by letting him go all out and making him suffer so he won't try this again… what kind of feeling do you think a battle crazed fucker like him will understand if I don't put some kind of fear into him." Emerald said as he held his hand out and summoned Onimusha to his hand again as Steel roars when he absorbed the Emerald's and his body changed exponentially in terms of power and looks… his power skyrockets while his body looked more metallic similar to his previous form but he had spikes coming out of the back of his arms and over his shins while he looked like a demon incarnate.
"Hahaha!… this power is amazing!" Steel said as he can feel the power of the 7 emeralds in him.
Emerald however had a raised eyebrow.
"Really?... is that all the Emerald's gave you?" was all Emerald said shocking many.
"Huh?… what is he talking about? Thought those Emeralds give infinite energy?" Zack said.
"No… best they give is a serious power boost, if they really were infinite, Steel's energy would continue to rise, I used them before, while being invulnerable, having flight, and a few other powers are a thing, being all powerful is not a thing… strong as hell sure, but infinite?... only thing that I know that comes to that level is the Master Emerald itself which made the things." Sonic said when he looks at the fight.
"Yeah… let me give a reminder…" Emerald said as he bursts with green energy.
"Just what fucking fragment am I linked to!" Emerald said while he emits some serious power.
Most were confused before Knuckles's eyes widened.
"The Master Emerald!" He said.
"Yeah… in case many missed it… I did say I have a fragment of the Master Emerald after all… why should I be scared of Steel when I could shut his power boost off instantly or just go super myself… no… I'm not going to do either… I'm fighting with my own power for now… call it what you will but I'm not half assing things but I won't take cheap wins either way…" Emerald said as he got in a guarded stance with Onimusha held in a striking position with Onimusha resting on his shoulder while he leaned to get ready to charge Steel.
"Besides… absolute invincibility doesn't exist… otherwise those Super forms wouldn't need Hyper forms and beyond." Emerald said while he focused his Aura to augment his power.
Steel grins.
"We'll see about that." He said before he charges at Emerald.
He summoned and formed two duel sided blades made of Nanomech's and his and Emerald's weapons clashed with great force, making a small shockwave that would have knocked everyone on their asses or worse if not ironically for the barriers blocking the force… Robotnik on his end was nearly knocked out of his Eggmobile thanks to him being out in the open and had to right himself while a glass dome formed over him when his eggmobile used a defense against wind when a glass roof moved over him like a convertible of sorts.
"H-Hey?! Watch it, Steel!" Robotnik said.
Steel however ignored Robotnik as he and Emerald broke from the clash and Emerald charged Steel and swiped Onimusha in an arc and after Steel vanished, Emerald kicked behind him knocking Steel back when he read where Steel was heading.
After this Steel tried to make many swipes with his blades in various angles to try and trip Emerald up, Emerald however used Onimusha as a shield in a reverse grip to block many hits while he dodged others that he couldn't hit much to block and he sent a fist towards Steel which knocked the metallic monster back with an actual dent in his leg when he blocked the attack from Emerald while many looks surprised that a supposed invincible form was harmed.
"Wow… he's really keeping with Steel." Zack said.
"Yeah… he may be faster than big blue here." Rouge said.
"Hey!" Sonic said at the jab to his speed while Lillum speaks again.
"We can do a race thing later to make sure, speed in battle is different than racing speed… for now I'm worried for Emerald right now." Lillum said when she looks at the battle that was ongoing while for every hit that Emerald made, Steel used one to injure Emerald but the wound healed up just as fast, it was only a matter of time since invulnerable or not, Steel was on a timer since he needed rings or energy to keep the super form charged.
Steel did frown at this as he continues to sent jabs at Emerald while using more power from the emeralds.
While it did allow him to use more hits, Emerald healed up just as fast and while he did lose a few limbs, he regrew new ones as the old ones broke down.
"How's it feel Steel?" Emerald asked as he made one good swing of his sword and Steel was damaged greatly even in a super form when he was knocked back by the force of the blow.
Steel groans before chuckling.
"I'll admit… that was surprising." He said though Robotnik was worried now.
"Yeah.. surprising… I'm surprising myself every time I fight guys like you… why don't we finish this…" Emerald said while he threw his sword away and it formed a shield in front of everyone much to their confusion as a ton of energy formed in Emerald's fist for his signature move, Chaos Fist.
"Yes, let's." Steel said as he gets up and charges at Emerald.
Emerald than charged Steel while time slowed as he remembered many things from each battle he had… going with the flow was the key thing he was told and he formed his purest Chaos fist to date when he cleared his mind of anger but lets his protective emotions surge while Steel grins wildly as his hand spun while his blade burns when he focused all his energy into it, dropping him from his Super form but giving him a powerful attacked that warped space for a moment as he approached Emerald with the two attacks ready to collide.
Everyone, even Robotnik, watched with intense looks while waiting for the outcome as Sonic and the gang hoped that Emerald won while Robotnik believed Steel won.
When the attacks collided… the result was both instant and surprisingly underwhelming yet intense and shocking as well when Emerald's attack effortlessly broke through the blade, attack and Steel himself when he punched through his face… pretty much destroying Steel and scattering the 7 drained Chaos Emerald's on the ground leaving Metal Monster, Neo Metal, and a panicking Robotnik when he got ready to take off in his eggmobile when Emerald looks at him.
"You may have won… but you haven't seen the last of me!" Robotnik said.
As Robotnik starts to fly away, Emerald had enough and destroyed Metal Monster and Neo Metal with two well aimed attacks and was about to go after a panicking Robotnik… but his eyes widnened when he saw Bordux appearing in Robotnik's path as a portal opened.
"Hello Robotnik… seems the plan on my end went better than I thought… really should have ended Sonic instead of guiding him up to the top to gloat… really need to keep that ego in check when you're in my group now." Bordux said as Emerald's rage builds.
"BORDUX!" Emerald roars when he charged Bordux with a chaos fist but his attack was blocked by Bordux and a spell which bounced him back as Bordux smirks.
"Should you really be looking at us instead of looking up… Aggro has a going away gift for you after all… you could follow sure but your friends would be in serious trouble." Bordux said as he and Robotnik got ready to leave and while Emerald would give chase… he did feel a nagging feeling and looks up and his eyes widnened in shock when he saw far above him was Aggro… and he held a massive fucking Meteor over him while he got ready to throw it.
Aggro was grinning as he had it aimed at Robotnik's fortress, where Sonic and his friends are caged, before throwing it.
Emerald really got wide eyes as Aggro laughs when he enters a portal.
"See you next time Emerald… I want to see how well you can fight in that new body of yours!" Aggro said as he vanished while Emerald moved to get on the fortress while everyone looks up with shocked looks… even if Emerald go them free, Station square was right under them… they couldn't run even if they wanted to.
Emerald however got a determined look on his face as he held a his hands wide in a prayer of sorts.
"Chaos…" Emerald muttered as a massive ball of Chaos energy formed over him and he slowly brought his hands together to condense the energy.
"I-Is he gonna do what I think he is about to do?" Sonic said.
"Oh yeah… I recognize that attack." Lillum said when she gulps given how strong it was in the past, it was intense… now… who knows what level it was now.
Emerald than moved to aim his attack upwards while he looks at the meteor.
"CANNON!" Emerald roars when he removed his left hand while he fired the deadly chaotic beam at the meteor and when it connects the beam was pushing against the meteor when they were in a deadlock of sorts while Emerald growls from how much energy he was using which showed this meteor wasn't normal.
The group watched as they see Emerald trying to push back the meteor.
'Come on Emerald… you can do it.' Was all everyone thought.
Emerald was growling as the meteor inched closer while many look on.
"Come on… come on… come on!" Emerald growls as he fired more energy but heard Nocturn's voice in his head.
"Don't strain yourself Emerald… just do what you always did and go with the flow." Nocturn's voice echoed in his head and this caused Emerald to remember something when he focused on keeping the chaos Cannon up… but he also charged a lot of dark energy into his free left hand.
The group saw that and thought Emerald was trying to get an extra boost.
However it was not quite a boost… more like he actually used a separate similar attack to the Chaos Cannon when he said this.
"This is for you Nocturn… DARK CANNON!" Emerald roars when he thrusts his left hand forward and not only was a powerful blast of dark energy fired right at the meteor, the combined might of the two elemental cannons shattered it into pieces, pretty much causing most pieces to fly around the sky base and thankfully away from Station Square… though not by much… seems Station Square for now had a ring of craters around it as Emerald sweatdrops as he looks at the damages.
"Hoo boy… Terragaia is not going to be happy about that." Emerald said while the skybases's power starts to fade and thanks to all the damage done with all of Emerald's energy shorting out most systems… well… while everyone was freed thanks to the barrier to their cells falling… the sky base starts to fall from the sky.
"OH COME ON GIVE US A FREAKING BREAK!" Emerald called out… thankfully the skybase was slowly angling towards the ocean so no issues there so there was a few minutes with everyone safe in the sky for now as they ran towards Emerald with Lillum, Vanilla, and even Rouge surprisingly enough moving to hug various parts of Emerald's body while he was knocked back from that surprising move.
"Oh Emerald! We thought we lost you." Lillum said as she and Vanilla cried.
"Yeah, seeing you nearly die like this… nearly made my heart stop for a moment." Vanilla said while she snuggles up to Emerald.
Rouge, after she got up, blushed as she rubs her head when many look at her.
