Chapter 33: Betrayal

Things couldn't have been better for Luca Nocenda, he was spooning his girlfriend on a futon watching mind numbing crystal ball.
"Luca…?"
"Yes Lilypad."
"how many children do you want?"
"As many as you want Lilypad." Luca replied, rubbing his hand on her stomach.
"do you think I'd be a good mother… I don't know if I will… considering." Lilith remembered when she cursed edalyn and she still felt guilty about it.
Luca kissed lilith's cheek and held her close. "Listen to me Lilith gwendolyn Clawthorne… you'd be a great mom and our children would be lucky to have you."
"you mean it?" Lilith's eyes were watering.
"Of course I do… I think the commercials are coming on… how's about a make out session?"
Luca smiled seductively.
Lilith smirked… "does this answer your question." Lilith placed her lips on luca and the two started their favorite game… whose tongue could dominate the others mom first.
Luca had won the last twenty times they played but lilith had won the first twenty.
Now it was a two way war of passion as they entered and probed each other, letting their tongues… stopping only for a breath.
Eda walked up to the town with a frown on her face. She cleared her throat upon seeing the boy. "Luca?"
"Yes eda, can I help you." He said breaking from the kiss as lilith began kissing his neck.
"I need your help in grabbing an iron acorn." she lied feeling disappointed.
"Of course… let me just– ow." Luca felt lilith nibble his neck leaving a hickey. "Lilypad, you masochist."
"I just can't get enough of your beautiful skin… come back soon and I'll get the bath ready."
"you keep being naughty and I'll give you a special spanking session."
"don't threaten me with a good time."
The two pressed their noses together and eskimo kissed each other making babybabble as they did.
Luca rose from the futon and followed eda outside. "so eda where is this iron acorn?"
"It can only be crafted by a master of plant and beast keeping magic known as an archdruid and the only one I know is deep in the woods." Eda would not even look at Luca. You're a coward edalyn clawthorne.
"will he give it up without a fight?" Luca asked following eda.
"yeah, he'll just want a story. That is why your here… you'll need to tell him your story."
"Okay eda, I'll do it… hey I have a question?"
"What is it kid?"
"would you like to go to the movies… with me and lilith?"
"do you think she'd mind me being a third wheel on your date." Eda asked confused by the request.
"It was her idea… come on, I'll let you pick the movie. We both know that lilith can't stand horror movies and that you love them." Luca asked with a confident timbre to his voice.
Eda smirked at that. Maybe we could've been together… but not now… I'm sorry. Eda returned her frown as she found the cave. "over there is where the druid is… it's your job to go in and tell him a story. I plan on getting some fire bee honey… meet me in the middle of the woods in one hour."
"Okay Eda, see you then." Luca entered the cave not noticing that eda had begun to cry softly. She walked away toward the meeting spot to inform the empress… that her prize… that luca was where she needed him to be.
Luca meanwhile entered the cave and saw it was completely dark. Luca used a spell circle to make his eyes be able to see in the dark. He walked down the cave and noticed that it seemed to be uninhabited.
"Hello! I'm a friend of eda's"
A purple flame appeared in front of Luca and behind it was a short and stout person in thick robes. Luca could not make out any features of the druid.
"Are you the old druid who lives in this cave."
"I'm not old!" The druid shouted the flame shooting out.
"I'm sorry… I didn't mean to offend."
"It's quite okay hon– I mean young man." The druid corrected themselves.
"I am here for the iron acorn… and I have a story for exchange."
"Tell it to me."
Luca went into how he got to be where he was and tols the druid everything.
"that is quite an impressive tale… and this lilith you speak of… do you love her?"
"Yeah, I think I plan to ask her to marry me… after we get rid of that bitchy empress."
"No! I mean no, you must give your true love a ring as soon as possible. Take it from me… I've been married before and when you've found the one… you have to snatch hi– I mean her up as soon as you can."
"you're very wise mr. Druid."
The druid started walking toward luca. "thank you young man," the druid sat next to luca and placed his hand on the boys lap.
"Uh, can I have the iron acorn now."
"Are you sure that's what you want?" The druid began running his arm up Luca's arm and the boy spoted a pale hand with purple nail polish. The druid then placed his hands on Luca's face.
"Uh, of course that's what I want… why else would I be here."
"I figured you'd want a woman who can love and provide for you… like… me." the druid's eyes flashed blue and luca pulled the hood down to reveal odalia blight.
"No!" Luca pushed her away and ran outside the cave. "Eda!"
As he was about to run into the woods to look for her. He was grabbed from behind into a bear hug. He looked up to see the vampire woman known as striga she held him tight.
"No! Let me go!" Luca struggled but he was stuck in her arms.
"Shsshsh, it's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you… your safe in my arms." she cooed leaning down so that her mouth was next to his ear. "I love you so much my lord."
"I said… let me go!" Luca used the sonic screech he had learned to knock striga back into the tree.
Luca ran into the woods screaming "Eda!" he could hear them running after him and used magic to keep away from them. He ran between the trees and saw eda in the clearing.
"Eda! Over here! It's a trap! It's a trap!" Luca ran into the clearing and he not only saw eda but also… her.
The empress just like in his dream though she looked frail she exuded an aura of power. Tristan took a couple steps back.
"w-what is this?"
Luca was grabbed from behind and held there. He looked up and saw esdeath holding him.
"Eda! What are you doing! Help me… please." Luca was crying he stared at the witch who wouldn't even turn her back to look at him.
"We finally meet Luca… it's a pleasure." The empress said taking a few calculated steps. She stopped in front of him and placed her hand on his cheek.
Luca pulled his face away from her. "don't touch me! You killed my mother! You turned her to stone!"
"I'm sorry you feel that way Luca… and I was so hoping for a smooth transition." she then snapped her fingers. "erza… the reward and you have an apology to give."
out of the woods carrying a huge sack full of clinking coins.
"M-money… you sold me out for money!" Luca yelled glaring at eda. "why eda! How could you!"
"erza apologize now!" The empress demanded. "and mean it!"
erza then did a kow tow before luca and began crawling toward the boy "Please forgive you my beloved lord, if you so request I will flagrant myself before the entire isles… please forgive me."
"Eda… y-you gave me up to the empress… i-i hate you!" Luca felt like his heart dropped when he said it and he didn't know if he meant it, but it hurt knowing that eda would betray him.
"I know it hurts Luca, knowing you can't trust the people who you thought loved me the most… but it's okay I'm here now and I will never let anyone hurt you again… now sleep my dear boy." the empress then waved her hand and turned her head to eda.
Luca felt his eyes grow heavy as he listened to the empresses words to eda. "you can pick up your reward in three days after I get him seattled."
eda… please… don't leave me. Luca fell asleep as a single tear left his eye and hit the ground.
