Chapter 36: Meeting the Champions

Laying on the bed staring up at the ceiling. Luca just let his mind fume as he tried to come up with a plan to escape.
A knock came at the door interrupting his thoughts.
"Go away!" Luca yelled.
"Luca, may I come in?" A accented voice asked from the door.
"No! Leave!"
the door cracked open and the dark skinned vampire marena entered the room. She wore an easy grin and walked into the room.
"what do you want!?"
"to talk." Marena said grabbing a chair and sitting next to Luca on the bed. She had a folder under her arm.
"Leave," he replied coldly.
"I understand that you're upset… but you'll see that this is the best possible thing that could ever happen to you." Marena said, smiling and reaching for luca.
Luca said nothing as he had nothing to say to this girl. He just pushed her hand away.
"have you ever flown before… I can arrange that. If you so wish?"
"I want lilith… and no one else."
This made the vampires face sour. "Lilith…" she growled. "what does she have that I don't?"
"My love…"
The vampire was taken aback and she threw the folder on his lap… inside was a bunch of nudes of her and the other champions… some together. "I made those for you… I wanted you to always be thinking of us even in your most private moments."
"I will never love any of you… I love lilith."
"then I will make sure to tear lilith's throat out the next time I see her…" the vampire yelled rising from her chair… she was embarrassed after she said it. "the vampire then left.
The next person to come was esdeath and she wore her traditional military uniform. She entered the house and smiled at the boy.
"Are you ready to take me… my love."
"No, leave."
"wanting to wait on our vacation spot I see… I have several planned."
"Leave and never come back."
Esdeath stomped her foot and turned from the door leaving the boy to wallow in sorrow.
The next person to come to Luca was the big vampire striga… she wore the same smile as marena.
"Luca, I have written you some poetry." she said hopeful… walking toward the boy and sitting on the seat.
She began reading to him and luca was surprised to find that her prose was some of the best he ever heard and if he wasn't her prisoner he would've actually enjoyed it.
"what do you think?" she asked hopeful.
Luca looked away from her and said nothing.
"so cold… I'll leave." the vampire said heartbroken.
The next person to come was odalia and she had a smirk on her face as she entered and took a seat. "how are they treating you?"
"what happened to your kids?"
"what? How do you know my kids are missing?"
"I spoke with eda about you… she told me alador was one of the people supplying the rebellion with abominations after darius's capture… he never told his wife and children because he wanted it to seem like a personal act of rebellion."
"i-i w-what?"
Luca looked at her and frowned. "you didn't know did you?"
odalia immediately rose and ran from the room crying.
"way to go luca, keep acting like that and you'll be as big a monster as the empress." he beat himself up and shook his head.
The next person to come was the leader of the vampires carmilla.
"Luca, my dear, it does my heart good to see you safe." she said taking her seat.
"I want to talk with lilith."
"forget about her… I'm so much better… did you know she's a virgin… at age forty."
just like me… he began to tear. We could've been each others firsts. Luca wondered why lilith never told him about this.
"now, now, don't cry my love… I'm sure you and I can have fun… any where and any when you desire… even now."
"No! I don't want you! I want Lilith!… my lilith." he began crying into his hands.
"please my love, I'll do anything for your love… I'll make you king, I'll give you my very being, I'll even do things with your other brides… anything for you… do you want me to bark like dog, beat me til I'm purple, just name what I have to do and I'll do it."
"Go away!" Carmilla rose and growled cursing Lilith's name and then took a couple steps toward the door where she saw lenore smirking at her.
"how long have you been there?"
"Long enough… leave this to me old lady… I'll make him see the beauty of his brides… and don't worry I'll let you have seconds… after about an hour of love making with luca."
Carmilla snarled as she pushed past her.
"I swear that girl was never good at getting her man." lenore said smirking then turned to luca. She had in her hands a basket.
She took a seat next to luca and smiled. "would you like s berry…" she asked showing a bushel of red berries… they looked wet and juicy.
"no, leave me alone."
"don't be cruel… I just want to make you comfortable."
"you're the worst."
"what? I'm the worst what?"
"the worst person I've met. The others at least are honest about their intentions… they're murderers and monsters but you… you pretend to be someone who can be trusted and loved… but you're not… you don't know the first thing about love."
Lenore turned her head from him. "I did love someone once." is all she said.
"who?"
"Hector… he was the man who showed me that humanity was more then food."
"what happened to him?" Luca asked genuinely surprised that she had admitted it.
"the empress when she came to our world destroyed our enemies then she subjugated my sisters and I after which she made me devour hector then she destroyed the world with her strange magic." Lenore looked to be on the verge of tears.
"why do you follow her?"
"she took so much from us… then she broke us… made us into her slaves and abused us… then she said that only you would set us free and love us… so understand we may be monsters but we do love you… because we have too."
Luca looked down and saddened… he represented hope to these women… hope to not longer feel pain and actually experience.
"I'll leave you alone." Lenore rose but her hand was grabbed by luca.
"wait," Luca bit his thumb and lifted it up to her. "would you like a taste.
"you'd let me drink your blood?" Lenore asked confused.
"it is what vampires like, right?"
a warm smile rose on her face as she was on the verge of tears "yes," Lenore began lapping up his blood making sure to get it all until his finger started healing itself.
"thank you luca."
the door opened to reveal erza.
"Lord luca, the empress demands you come to the court yard immediately she has something to show you."
Luca nodded his head and left the bed and then offered his hand to lenore who took it earning a glare from erza.
"let's see what the empress wants." Luca stated.
