Chapter 37: Heartbreaking Reunion.

Luca walked beside erza and felt disgusted. He came to the courtyard and saw an horrendous site. Standing in the middle was lilith her lip busted and her eye bruised.
Esdeath and striga was surrounding her. Esdeath kicked Lilith in side and laughed.
"Stop! Please!" Luca said running to the rafters but he was held by erza.
"why, why are you hurting her… what did she do?"
"she broke into the castle and tried to kidnap you…" Erza explained glaring at the woman.
"Make them stop! Please!" Luca had tears in his eyes trying to fight out of erza's arms.
"that is up to the empress." erza turned her head up to a balcony where the empress was overseeing the beating.
"Empress, please… let her go… please."
"and why should I do that Luca." She said her voice clear to him. "How would I benefit for allowing a traitor to walk free?"
Luca looked up at her then back lilith who received a punch from lilith. Her groans and cries breaking his heart.
"I'll stay! Please make me stop and I'll stay! I'll never run away… please."
The empress tilted her head and looked like she considered it. She then raised her hand making the two champions stop the beating.
"I accept your offer luca." the empress said.
"M-may I say goodbye… please?" Luca asked crying.
"Of course… make it quick."
Erza released the boy he ran down to lilith and gave her a hug holding her tight. "Lilly, my sweet angel… what have they done to you." Luca began kissing her bruises.
"Luca, I love you, I'm sorry."
"I love you too Lilith." he pulled her close and whispered in her ear "forget about me… I don't want to lose you… you will live longer without me."
"No luca, we can escape… please." Lilith held him tight and didn't want to let go but that ended when luca turned his head up to erza.
"take her out of here without hurting her." He commanded trying to stay strong.
"Of course my lord." Erza said walking up to Lilith and grabbing her by the collar and carrying her out of the castle.
"no! Luca! Please don't do this! No!" she screamed as she was lead out.
Luca walked away went back to his spot in the rafters were the empress was waiting with her arms down.
"that was a very grown up act… I'm proud of you." She said trying to grab his face and this time he just let her do it.
"can we make sure she never gets back in?" Luca didn't want Lilith to die and if that means she can't ever see him again… then so be it.
"yes… I'll summon the wards and only a powerful spell can end it." she then waved her hand a barrier of white energy engulfed the area around the castle.
"I'm going to bed." Luca said walking back to his room.
"Lenore, escort him to his room and make sure he is comfortable." The empress commanded.
"Yes ma'am…" Lenore followed luca and watched as he was snifffling.
"are you okay?"
"N-no! I'm not okay! I loved her… she was my first girlfriend… my first love… and now I will never see her again…" he broke down in tears and ran into lenore's chest to cry.
The vampire ran her fingers through his hair… she felt guilty… just like when hector was killed. "you will see her again." Lenore said.
"W-what?"
"I won't let her rob you of what she robbed me of… I know lilith is your true love and even if you hate me… I'm gonna help you escape."
"thank you lenore… and I'm sorry for what I said."
"you're quite alright."
The two embraced… and lenore felt happy… real happiness.

deep in the dungeons of the empress… a prisoner was chained to the wall.
Luz nocenda's hands were bound so she couldn't make spell circles and her mouth was gagged.
She saw across from her a mermaid like creature with a fish face staring at her in fear. The creatures name was vee and she was one of the people who helped luz and lilith as they found her in this same dungeon.
Footsteps came from down the hall as she arrived in between the two's hall. "hello little lulu… we are going to have a chat." the empress opened the cell and used magic to remove luz's gag.
