Kitty opened her eyes. It was morning, and she was lying on her back in bed, warm and comfy.
She looked to her left. Her roomate, Illyana, was sitting on her bed, reading a book.
The brunette sat up, stretched and closed her eyes. When she opened them she was lying on her back, in the exact same position as when she woke up.
"What the…"
Kitty sat up again and looked around, got out of the bed and blinked. Back on the bed.
"I'm still asleep, I just have to wake up"
She tried to force herself awake, but it didn't work. Then slapped her face a few times. Nothing
"Ok what if I…"
She rolled hard to her left and fell off the bed, closing her eyes while landing on the floor. She opened them and again, back on the bed.
"Damn it! I wonder if I can make myself sleeptalk? I'll try to call for help, maybe Illyana will hear me"
Kitty tried to speak, but her voice wouldn't come out. She was starting to get desperate
"Maybe… maybe if I think hard enough a telepath can hear me. Professor? Rachel? Jean? "
...
"Hello? I need help! "
...
"Anyone!? Please! "
"If I help you will you stop screaming? "
"Yes! "
"What is it then? "
"I need you to wake me up, I'm stuck in a nightmare"
...
She waited, hopeful that this would be over soon.
"Kitty? Kitty!"
She opened her eyes, and found herself lying on her back in bed, warm and comfy.
The young mutant sat up and blinked several times, making sure she wasn't back on the same position. She sighed in relief.
She looked to her left, Illyana was looking at her worried, Emma Frost was standing behind her, looking bored.
"Are you ok? Emma said you were stuck in a nightmare and couldn't wake up."
Kitty nodded and looked at Emma
"Thanks."
Emma looked at her for a second, then left the room. Kitty looked at Illyana
"I'm surprised she was the one to come help me"
"Well, Emma's the only telepath on the mansion right now. Rachel and the professor are on a mission and Jean is out with Scott. But yeah, I'm surprised too ."
Kitty looked at the door. Maybe Emma wasn't that much of a bitch after all.
