Chapter 42: Nightmares

The castle was filled with corridors and hallways. A perfect place to play a game of hide and seek. Luca hadn't done this since he and luz were kids but he decided to be nostalgic.
"Luz, I'm going to find you… then I'll tickle you purple." Luca called making his hand into a cone to amplify his voice.
Luca saw a figure running down a hall covered in shadows.
"Found you Lulu!" Luca ran after the figure following it. No matter how much luca ran, the figure was faster. "you've always been faster Lulu but I have endurance." Luca chuckled as the figured turned a corner to go down the dungeon.
Luca ran down after it and came upon the dungeon. He now saw an area in the castle he had never seen before. A huge double door slightly ajar as he looked to see what is inside.
Luca heard footsteps from the stairs above. He turned his head and saw luz running down out of breath. "I lost him." she panted bending over.
"Lost who, lulu?" Luca asked, chuckling.
Luz jumped back and glared at Luca. "how'd you get here so fast? You were just behind me?"
"what are you talking about Luz, I followed down here a few seconds ago."
"No you were chasing me a few seconds ago. At least I think that was you, my pursuer was draped in shadows."
Luca's eyes widened as he turned his head to the door. "Luz, I think something has lead us here… and it's waiting behind this door."
"Indeed I am mijo." the voice of the two's mother said taking a couple steps out of the shadow.
"Mami!" they both yelled in unison running to her.
Suddenly a wall of magic appeared around the two children. The wall turned into a cube and lifted the two up in to the ceiling.
"you have been very naughty children. Luca, you failed to avenge me… and now you're replacing me with slutty women, and you mija, how could you order my death? It's your fault I'm dead… both of you are bad children. Now you will be punished."
The squares began to close in around kids. Both luca and luz with tears in their eyes try to stop the advance of the crushing cubes.
"No mama, I would never kill you… I love you." Luz pleaded crying out as her leg began to give.
"then why was your last words to me I hate you! You were always a troublesome brat! I should have left you and luca at the fire department." camilia taunted her body growing black as she grew in mass.
"Mama, I tried to avenge you're death, I would never replace you."
"then why would you allow multiple women to be in a relationship with you luca. I will not raise a womanizer!" Camiliar screamed her stomach began a black abyss maw with sharp teeth opening to snap up the kids and eat them.
"I am disappointed in both of you… adios mijo…. I always hated you." the creature snaps up the children and drags them into her stomach.

Luca eye's shot open as he shot up from the bed. He looked around and saw nothing but the dimly lit bedroom of eda. He looked at his side and saw his mentor sleeping in the nude next to him snoring.
Just a dream… it was just a dream. He thought as he got out of bed and put his robe on. He took a couple steps out bed and began walking to door. He couldn't process how his guilt ridden mind was processing this.
Is it guilt… or stress. He had been listening to the problems of the empire for a full week along with his harem of women infighting. That's what happened… he was just confused… he chuckled at that… it was so simple.. too simple.
Luca decided to see his sister hoping she could consul him and put his mind at ease. Like she always did.
He walked toward her door and knocked three times.
Crash!
Luca sprung into action and ran inside to see luz sitting cleaning up a potted plant. He noticed that vee was napping in her underwear.
Luz was similarly dressed. "Luca, what's up?"
"couldn't sleep. I'm guessing it's the same with you?" Luca noticed a bottle of blue liquid on her desk and he knew it as a sleeping potion.
"Yeah, I had a bad dream about mom." Luz admitted.
"You too huh?" He asked taking a couple steps toward his sister.
"we were playing hide and seek… I thought you were behind me so I ran down into an entryway and came to a strange door."
"then mom walked out and trapped us. She taunted us and turned into a monster." Luca finished, shaking at his sisters words.
"How did you know?"
"Because I had the same dream." luca admitted.
Luz tackled into Luca holding him close and grasping like a child for their mother. Tears in her eyes she sobbed softly. "it's our fault she's dead… isn't it?"
"No, lulu, we can't blame ourselves… she wouldn't want us to dwell on that. It's going to be okay, Lulu." Luca said, patting the girls back.
Luz in her exhaustion fell asleep while holding her brother. Luca lifted her like when she was a child and placed her in bed. He tucked her in and kissed his forehead.
Vee moved over in the body and wrapped her arms around Luz holding her tight.
"Keep her safe for me vee… goodnight Lulu… sleep well." Luca left the room and made his way to the door. He knew now that he couldn't let his guilt take him like it did when he first came to the isles. He was a king now… and he had to put his people first.
King who can't think is a king who can't rule properly.
Luca returned to his room to catch an eyeful of a certain bird themed witch.
In the dark of the room eda's body was obscured but he could make her the smooth curve of her breasts and the moonlight reflected off her silver hair and the predatory look in he eyes let Luca know what her intentions were.
"You left me to sleep in my bed alone… I got lonely and scared… how's about you make it up to me by helping me relieve some tension," she insuated, circling her finger around her lips before sticking it in her mouth sucking on it,
pop!
The finger came out and eda let out a soft Moan. "My lipstick is really tasty, want to try it?" she asked walking forward.
Luxa chuckled. "go to bed eda, I'm tired." he said walking past the nude witch. Stripping naked himself and covering himself under the blanket.
Eda deflated from his rejection and slumped over. "Look kid, a lady at my age has needs… needs she'd like you to fill… please." Eda begged crawling under the same bed as luca.
Luca in response gave Eda a kiss on the nose. "eda, someday I will make love to you… just not today… I need my rest… goodnight… love you."
Eda smirked and wrapped her arms around him and fell asleep. The two held each other close unaware they were being watched as the mirror transformed Into a black puddle.
Fear I love the taste… so many flavors… need more… must e patient. The creature slithered out of the castle to hide and plan it's next move.
