Hey, everyone! And welcome to the latest chapter of the first part of "The Love of a Killer". Last chapter, Nurse Redheart along with Twilight went to Rainbow's house to see how serious her injuries were. It turns out that Rainbow would have to be in bed for three weeks. Also, Jeff is going to be the one taking care of her. And Rainbow also said that she would make Jeff's life a living hell. Let's see how all this turns out shall we? Chapter 6: The Road to Recovery
The next morning, in Rainbow Dash's cloud house, Jeff was still fast asleep on the couch. The sound of a bell ringing could be heard throughout the house as well as Rainbow Dash calling for Jeff.
"Jeff! Jeff! JEFF!" She called.
Jeff turned on his side and covered his ears.
"JEFF!"
Frustrated, he sits up, takes the sleeping mask off, and gets up.
"Alright! Alright! Alright! I'm comin'! I'm comin'!" He shouted.
He walked upstairs and stopped outside Rainbow's room. When he opened it, he found an irritated Rainbow Dash waiting for him.
"I'm here."
"Took ya long enough. What? Did you finally hear my belly growling?"
Rainbow's belly chose that moment to growl pretty loudly.
"I did just now." Jeff said, "Now what do you want?"
"Well, obviously I'm hungry."
"Yeah, I can see that. I just heard your stomach growl for crying out loud. *sigh* What would you like?"
Rainbow put a hoof on her chin.
"Let's see; I have biscuits, eggs, and bread. If you used the bread to make toast and put jam or butter on it. But I also have cheese. If you used that you could probably make cheese toast." Rainbow said.
"Anything else?" Asked Jeff.
"I have Corn Flakes."
"Whichever one's the quickest and easiest I'll do. I guess I'll make you some cereal and toast. How does that sound? You think it'll fill you up?"
"I hope so."
Jeff nodded and started walking out the door. Rainbow cupped a hoof over her mouth.
"Don't forget my orange juice!" She called.
Jeff flew downstairs and walked into the kitchen. He plugged in the toaster and put two pieces of bread in it. While the toast was warming up, Jeff opened one of the cabinets and got a small bowl. He went to the pantry and opened it and found a box of Corn Flakes. He took it out and poured the cereal in the bowl. After that, he opened the refrigerator and found a carton of milk and a bottle of orange juice. A few minutes later, the meal was ready. Jeff put the food on a tray. There was a bowl of cereal, two pieces of toast, one with butter and one with jelly, and a glass of orange juice. He carefully carried the tray upstairs. He brought the tray into the room and placed it on Rainbow's lap.
"Well, it's about time." She said.
"Shut up." Said Jeff.
As Rainbow started eating, she tasted her cereal. When she did, she stopped eating and gave Jeff a "Really?" look.
"What?"
"No sugar?"
Jeff was confused.
"Sugar?"
"Yeah, sugar. I usually have sugar with my Corn Flakes." Rainbow said.
Jeff got a frustrated look.
"But you didn't tell me you wanted- Ugh! Fine. I'll get you your damn sugar." He said.
He carefully took the bowl off the tray.
"Gimme that!"
Jeff took the bowl and flew downstairs. A minute later, He came back up with the bowl and placed it on Rainbow's tray again. Rainbow tasted her food and smiled.
"Mmmm! Much better."
"Will that be enough, princess?" Jeff asked.
Rainbow shook her head.
"Oh no. You're FAR from done." She said, "There's still some things you need to do. Since you are gonna be here helping me, you're gonna have to do some work around the house as well. For example, you're gonna have to do the dishes, clean the house, feed Tank, etcetera. You're also gonna have to make my meals. DO NOT put anything hazardous in them. Like glass, pesticides, rat poison, stuff like that.
And you're also gonna have to help me get to the bathroom. Because, as you have already noticed, my leg is sprained which means if I tried walking on my own, it would take me time to get there."
"So?"
"So, you're gonna have to carry me to the bathroom."
"What?!"
"Hey, don't blame me. The nurse said I have to stay off my leg for a while."
Jeff growled in frustration.
"Okay, fine! I'll do it. But as soon as you get better, I'm outta here." He said.
"Fine with me." Said Rainbow.
"Fine!"
"Fine!"
"FINE!"
"FINE!"
Jeff left the room and went downstairs. He sat on the couch in frustration.
"It's bad enough that I have to take care of her, but I also have to take care of her house. What the hell do I look like? A butler? A maid? A housekeeper? I'm a killer. I shouldn't be taking care of someone or their house. I guess this is a punishment after all." He thought.
He then heard the bell ringing. He went upstairs and walked in Rainbow's room.
"You need somethin'?"
"Yeah. I need you to take my bowl and glass to the kitchen so you can wash them. And while you're at it, you can wash the rest of the dishes."
Jeff sighed.
"Fine."
He started flying and flew towards Rainbow. He picked up her bowl and glass and flew out of the room with them. When he got downstairs, he flew to the kitchen.
"Well, it could be worse. There could be a lot of dishes in the sink." He thought.
When he got in the kitchen, he looked at the sink and his jaw dropped. There were dishes stacked on top of each other. There were plates, glasses, bowls, and some silverware. Jeff shook his head.
"No. No way. You've gotta be fucking kidding me!" He said.
He flew over to the sink and put the glass and bowl on the counter. After landing, he took a good look at the dishes. Talk about a lot of dishes. It almost looked like she had friends over. Maybe she did.
"She expects me to do ALL of these dishes... by MYSELF?! Huh, she must be high as a fucking kite." He said, *sigh* "I guess doing the dishes can't hurt. Hell, Liu and I used to help around the house all the time dishes included. Why should this be any different? Besides, if I can do the dishes back on Earth, I can do the dishes in Equestria as well."
Jeff got started on the dishes. A couple of hours later, he got through most of them. He was almost through when he heard the bell ringing and Rainbow's voice.
"Jeff! Jeff! I need you!" She shouted.
This startled Jeff and he immediately stopped and quickly ran up the stairs. He opened the door to Rainbow's room and saw that the pegasus was looking at him with a half irritated look.
"It's about time you got up here, Hearth's Warming Eve." She said.
"What do you need?" Asked Jeff.
"I need to go to the bathroom."
"Number one or number two?"
"Number one."
"Can't you hold it?" Jeff asked.
Rainbow was now irritated.
"Uh, no." She said, "I've tried holding it, but I really need to go bad. Don't just stand there, pick me up and carry me to the bathroom before I pee all over the bed."
Jeff growled.
"Okay. But you better not piss on me." He warned.
And with that, Jeff picked Rainbow up in his forelegs and quickly flew out of the room with her. Lucky for them, the bathroom was near Rainbow's bedroom. It was next to a room that was between the bedroom and bathroom. When he got there, Jeff put the mare down and opened the door for her. Rainbow started to walk into the bathroom, ignoring the pain in her leg.
"Don't take too long." Jeff said.
Rainbow glanced back at him.
"I won't take too long. After all, I'm just taking a piss." She said.
"Whatever."
Rainbow shut the door behind her and Jeff waited for her to get done. A few seconds later, the cyan pegasus opened the door, letting Jeff know she was finished.
"I'm done, Jeff." She said.
"This may be a stupid question, but how long were you in there?" Asked Jeff.
"What do you mean? I was only in there for like a few seconds. Did you think that was too long?"
"Not too long, but feels like an eternity."
"Oh stop."
Jeff picked up Rainbow again and carried her to her room. He then put her down on the bed.
"Is there anything else you want me to do?" Jeff asked.
"Just when you get through with the dishes, feed Tank. His food's in the cabinet." Said Rainbow.
"Who's Tank?"
"He's my pet tortoise."
Jeff chuckled.
"What's so funny?" Rainbow asked, raising her brow.
"Oh nothing." Jeff said, "It's just that you have a slowpoke for a pet. And you're supposed to be a speed demon."
"Hey! He may be slow, but he's a great pet. I owe my life to him."
"He saved your life?"
"Yeah. So don't be a jerk. As if you're not a jerk already. True I can't stand slowpokes sometimes, but he's an exception."
"Huh, funny you calling me a jerk when you're the one who kicked me in the face." Jeff said.
"I kicked you in the face because A, I was scared, and B, your ugly face was the first thing I saw when I looked at you." Said Rainbow.
Jeff growled.
"Why I oughtta..."
The duo then heard a voice outside.
"Hello?"
They looked at the window hole, then at each other.
"I wonder who that could be." Jeff said.
Eventually, Jeff went downstairs and walked towards the door. When he opened it, he was surprised at who he saw. He saw a dragon, a changeling, an earth pony, a hippogriff, a yak, and a griffon who were just as shocked as he was. For a minute, there was silence. Finally one of the creatures spoke up.
"Um... who the heck are you?" The dragon asked.
"The name's Jeff. I take it you're here to see Dash." Said Jeff.
The creatures nodded.
"As a matter of fact we are." Said the earth pony.
"Before you come in, can you at least tell me who and what you are?" Jeff asked.
The dragon nodded.
"Okay. We'll introduce ourselves." She said, "First and foremost, my name is Smolder. I'm a dragon."
"Yak name Yona." Said the yak.
"I'm Ocellus. I'm a changeling." Said the changeling.
"I'm Sandbar. I am an earth pony." Said the earth pony.
"My name's Silverstream. I'm a hippogriff." Said the hippogriff.
"And my name's Gallus. I'm a griffon." Said the griffon.
Jeff was in disbelief.
"Wow. When Twilight said there were other creatures in this world, she wasn't kidding." He thought.
"Um, are you okay?" Gallus asked.
Jeff snapped out of his shock.
"Uh... Yeah. Yeah, I'm good." He said, "So, why do you need to see Dash. She's in bed at the moment."
"We just wanted to see if Professor Rainbow Dash is okay." Said Ocellus.
"Woah woah woah. Did you just say 'professor' Rainbow Dash?"
"Yeah. She's a teacher at the School of Friendship."
Jeff's eyes widened.
"There's a School of Friendship too?! Huh, the more you know I guess." He said.
Smolder chuckled.
"You can say that again, Jeff." She said.
"Look, I know you want to see her and all, but she's in bed and she's got me working. Can I just tell her you were here to check on her? Oh, and by the way, she's kinda okay. She has a sprained wing and leg, but other than that she's fine." Said Jeff.
"Oh. That's... good to hear." Silverstream said, "How did she sprain her leg and wing?"
"It's a long story."
The six creatures looked at each other and nodded.
"Okay, well be sure to let her know that we were here." Sandbar said.
Jeff nodded. Just as they were about to leave, he had one more question.
"Hey, I just have one more question; why'd you come here?" He asked.
"Headmare Twilight sent us over here to check on you two. You know, to see how you're doing." Said Smolder.
"Well, tell her we're doing well."
"Alright."
The six creatures left and Jeff went back into the house and shut the door. He walked upstairs to Rainbow's room.
"Gee, I thought they'd never leave." Jeff said.
"Who was it?" Asked Rainbow.
"It was six creatures from the School of Friendship."
"The students from the School of Friendship?! Wh-Why didn't you tell them they could see me?!"
"Relax, babe. I already told them you were alright, so there was nothing to worry about. I already took care of it."
Rainbow got an irritated look.
"What did I say about calling me babe?" She asked.
Jeff just laughed.
"Heh heh. I know what you said. I just don't care." He said.
The pegasus growled in frustration. A couple of weeks went by and for Jeff it was hell. For the past couple of weeks, Rainbow was complaining nonstop. Whether it would be that her food was too cold or if Jeff wasn't moving fast enough. Jeff was so irritated and angry that he thought about killing her right then and there. At least Dash's leg was now better because he was getting tired of carrying her to the bathroom 24/7. However, she still couldn't fly because of her sprained wing. And the worst part was she would not shut up about it.
"Would you please quit your bitchin'?" Jeff said, "It's only for one more week. Just be grateful it isn't broken."
"It could've been broken because of you." Said Rainbow.
Jeff sighed and turned to her.
"You're never gonna let that go are you? Me chasing you?" He asked.
"Let me think about it; NO!"
"I wish you would, because holding a grudge is really ridiculous. And it doesn't help either."
"What are you gonna do? Kill me?"
"Keep bitchin' and I might just do that."
Jeff walked out of the bedroom.
"Jerk." Rainbow said.
"Bitch." Said Jeff.
Rainbow lied down on her bed and looked at the ceiling, thinking.
"Have I really been complaining that much?" She asked herself, "He may be ugly, but he's doing his best to take care of me. Sure, he chased me, but he also saved me. I mean if it wasn't for him, I would be a timberwolf's lunch right now. I don't wanna apologize. But I should. That's what I'll do. I'll go downstairs and talk to him. Who knows, maybe I'll get to know him better."
A remorseful Rainbow Dash got out of bed and started to walk downstairs, hoping Jeff would be in a mood to talk.
Author's Note: It looks like Rainbow is finally going to get to know Jeff better. Even after all her complaining she still feels remorseful after the shit she put Jeff through. But that's a story for another chapter. Sorry for the long update. I just got major writer's block and put off writing for so long. I'll try my hardest to make sure that doesn't happen again in the future. Anyway, I hope all of you are liking the story so far and I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
