Hey guys, TARfan here. I've now completed Part I of Episode 5. Hope you all enjoy.
Ep. 5, I'm Too Young To Go To Jail, Part I
…
Previously on The Amazing Race: Video Game Edition, with the first pre-determined non-elimination leg having been put into play, nine teams continued to remain as they set out from the kingdom of Hyrule and traveled via horseback through the Lost Woods to a parallel world known as the land of Termina.
Some teams started the leg in good spirits…
"Man this is going to be sweet!" said P.T. when he and Lucario received the horse they were going to travel to Termina on.
"Yay!" cried Jigglypuff. "We get to ride a pony!"
…but Bowser & Bowser Jr. started off the leg with negative vibes by continuing to square off with each other.
"No, son! I'm controlling the horse!" said Bowser, pulling Bowser Jr. off the horse, causing him to land face first on the ground.
"Dad, you could have gotten me injured!"
"Oh, shut up!"
Upon Arrival in Termina, Pokémon Trainer & Lucario attempted to play dirty to try and gain a lead over the other teams…
"Hurry, Lucario! We can't have them get to it before we do!" said P.T., running to the red mailbox after bailing out on Samus & Pikachu and Fox & Krystal, who helped them find the post-office. The three teams raced against each other to the red mailbox that contained two clues, but P.T. & Lucario ultimately failed.
"Yes! We got here before you!" Cried Samus after her and Fox retrieved the only two clues from the mailbox for their teams.
"I'm sorry, Master," said Lucario.
…and later, they continued to not help out other teams, but did so in a manner that rubbed their fellow team mates the wrong way.
"Hey guys, can y'all tell us where the clock tower is?" said Daisy, asking for directions.
"Forget it, we're not helping anybody," P.T. said quickly while hurrying towards the southern exit of Clock Town with Lucario and their clue, shocking them.
"…Well that was mean," said Peach.
…As a result, everyone began to question the way Pokémon Trainer & Lucario were playing the game.
"I can't believe what Pokémon Trainer & Lucario tried to do to us back there," said Samus, referring to P.T. & Lucario while they road to the Southern Swamp on their horse. "They tried to stab us in the back right after we helped them out."
"We understand completely that this is a race and everything, but because Pokémon Trainer & Lucario are choosing not to help out other teams, I think that's starting to tick everybody off," said Daisy in a confessional.
…Meanwhile, Mario & Luigi had managed to wait out their 4-hour penalty before departing, but by then, they were hours behind the other eight teams…
"Come on," said Mario after leaving the mat. "We-a better hurry if we want to catch up-a!"
…and because they were forced to start the leg with zero money, their situation began to look hopeless.
"I can't-a find any more rupees, Luigi's," said Mario, looking for rupees in the bushes. "Do you see any?"
"Nope," said Luigi, shaking his head and shrugging his shoulders.
"Mama Mia!" cried Mario, "This is a disaster!"
In This leg's Roadblock, team members were required to disguise themselves as Deku Scrubs so as to obtain a picture of the Deku King. Some teams faced the task with great fun…
Krystal and Pikachu were shown jumping into a mud puddle, and started rolling around in it, covering themselves in mud.
"Ha, ha, ha, yeah, Krystal! Wowee!" cried Fox, laughing his head off.
"Woo hoo!" cried Samus. "Yeah, Pikachu, get down there, and get muddy!"
…but for others, it wasn't that easy of a task to complete.
"But you HAVE to let me in!" Lucas begged the two Deku guards. "What part of 'I'm a photographer for the Deku King' don't you understand!?"
"Photographer for the Deku King, my butt!" said one of the guards in a tone of mockery, refusing to allow him inside.
At the Detour, things got messy and out of control for several of the teams as both tasks proved to be excruciatingly difficult…
Peach & Daisy were shown repeatedly losing races against the Gorman Brothers while riding horses.
"GRRRR!" Daisy growled angrily while punching the air with her fists repeatedly after crossing the finish line in last place.
"I HATE THIS!" Peach screamed at the top of her lungs.
Later…
"Are you kidding me, Link!?" Sheik angrily stated after Link picked a dog that finished in last place against other dogs. "Are you TRYING to make us lose the race!?" The loss resulted in them losing all of the rupees that they betted.
…The difficulty of both tasks had gotten so ridiculous that it drove Bowser & Bowser Jr. to resort to foul play…
"You fed Bowser's horse with Chateau Romani!" said Link, accusing the Gorman brothers for doing this so that Bowser's horse could carry him better.
"You can't do that!" Pikachu reacted. "That's cheating, pika!"
"To bad for you then," said Bowser, laughing.
…where as for Samus & Pikachu, they were both unable to finish the Detour at all which caused them to fall devastatingly behind…
"OW! PIKA!" Pikachu cried after falling off his horse, spraining his leg in the process.
Samus was then shown punching the ground in pure anger and frustration.
"What are we going to do now?" Pikachu lamented.
…they eventually had no other choice but to throw in the towel.
"We're giving up," Samus told the Gorman Brothers, asking them for their clue. "We're taking the penalty."
Meanwhile, Fox & Krystal managed to pull off an inaugural first place victory…
"Fox & Krystal…" said Toad, smiling at them, "…you are team number ONE!"
"YES!" Fox & Krystal ecstatically jumped for joy in celebration.
…but later on, as the sun was setting, Mario & Luigi finally arrived in Termina, but by then, they were convinced that they were done…
"Mama Mia!" cried Mario when he found out they had to search for clues in red mail boxes after arriving in Clock town like all the other teams did before them did. He was shown slouching down on the ground as he was beginning to think they were screwed.
…they never-the-less pushed on and were determined to finish the leg.
"Let's-a finish this," said Luigi with determination in his eyes. Mario agreed.
…Meanwhile, after arriving at the mat, Samus & Pikachu were given a 6-hour penalty for failing to complete the Detour.
"Samus & Pikachu…" said Toad, "…you're the eighth team to arrive. However, I understand you both decided to quit the Detour. If you can be able to finish the penalty before Mario & Luigi arrive, you'll still be in the game," said Toad.
Although they were confident that they could still make it...
"So far, so good," said Samus, checking her watch while waiting out their penalty.
… Mario & Luigi managed to complete all tasks and arrive at the mat in the nick of time, earning them 8th place and allowing them to race another day…
"I am pleased to inform that you are both STILL in the Amazing Race," said Toad.
"Oh MY GOOOOOOSH!" Mario & Luigi cried with joy, jumping into each other's arms, and hugging each other.
…but as for Samus & Pikachu, this landed them in last place.
"Samus & Pikachu," said Toad, "I'm sorry to tell you that that puts you two in last place… and that you both have been eliminated from the race."
"Guess that's that, huh, pika," said Pikachu.
"Yeah," said Samus, scratching his ears. "We gave it our best shot."
Now, eight teams remain. Who will be eliminated next?
…
The entire landscape of Termina was being shown on camera as it rolled showing amazing scenery. It showed swampy jungles, snowy mountains, serene oceans, and even a haunted canyon.
"It's the dawn of a new day here in the land of Termina, a beautiful and unusual land that stands parallel to the land of Hyrule," said Toad, who was shown walking along the grassy plains of Termina Field. "Termina was once under an apocalyptic threat of destruction due to a great evil entity known as Majora's Mask, which summoned the moon from its orbit to come crashing down into this beautiful land. When all hope seemed lost, the young hero of legend, known as the 'Hero of Time', swooped in and came to the rescue. With the help of the four giants, as well as many powerful masks in hand, the hero set out to right the wrongs of the land. He ended up defeating Majora and stopped the moon from crashing, thus preventing all life from becoming wiped out. In the center of this land is Termina's main hub area known as Clock Town. Clock Town is known for attracting many people around the eve of a special event known as the Carnival of Time; a festive holiday celebrating the coming of harvests and new things to come. In the center of this town is Stock Pot Inn, which was also the pit-stop for this leg of the race."
Inside the Inn, several of the teams were shown living it up and having fun during their break period.
"At the pit-stop, teams were given the opportunity to eat, sleep, and mingle with the other teams," said Toad. "As a special reward for completing a third of the race course, all eight remaining teams was given a 36-hour break period over the usual 12-hour break period to gain some much needed rest. This gave everyone the opportunity to celebrate the Carnival of Time here in Clock Town."
"Here's to finishing four legs!" Mario chimed, holding up a glass beverage while hanging out with his fellow team members at the Inn.
"Cheers!" everyone said as they all tapped their glass beverages in celebration.
"During the carnival, several team members were having fun dancing and listening to music with several of the locals," said Toad.
"Woo Hoo!" said Peach, having fun dancing with Daisy as well as with Krystal and Jigglypuff.
"This is so much fun!" said Lucas, while running around town wearing a colorful giant's mask with Ness and the other kids.
"Mm mm! This food is delicious!" said Bowser Jr. as he satisfyingly ate so much food that the carnival had to provide.
As for Link & Sheik, they decided to take out their ocarina and harp, and play Saria's Song - A.K.A.; The Lost Woods Theme Song - for the whole town. Everyone really enjoyed that, including the Gorons from the Northern Mountains. (They were the ones that loved Saria's Song the most.)
Meanwhile, feeling wonderfully inspired by all of the music playing all around town, Jigglypuff once again couldn't help herself and took out her little microphone to sing her little song. Once she finished singing, however, almost half of the town had been put to sleep, including several other racers.
"Huh? Humph!" She stated while blowing herself up like a balloon, feeling annoyed. She then took the cap off her little microphone, revealing a black permanent marker inside, and scribbled black ink all over every little sleepy head she could find all over town. When everyone had woken up, people were suddenly laughing like crazy at the scribbles that were written all over everyone's faces.
Everyone was having a good time. Pokémon Trainer more so than others…
"WOO HOO! YEAH, BABY!" P.T. cried while pouring a bucket of water all over Kirby and Mario, getting them soaked and wet, much to their surprise. He was now laughing his head off like a maniac at the richness of his prank. Heck, it was enough to make even Bowser Jr. applaud him for it. He then went off to drink more chocolate flavored milkshakes from the milk bar.
CONFESSIONAL:
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Best Friends
"I think my master was having way more fun than he should have been having," said Lucario.
KIRBY & JIGGLYPUFF: Long Distance Dating
"Pokémon Trainer had eaten too much candy and drank too many milk shakes from the Milk Bar that he ended up going on a crazy sugar rush the entire carnival," said Kirby.
MARIO & LUIGI: Brothers/Plumbers
"That guy had ended up-a becoming incredibly hyper and energetic, Lucario had to take-a care of the situation," said Mario.
"Yeah," said Luigi. "His-a partying behavior was-a getting a bit out of control."
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Best Friends
"I ended up having to get him off of the candy and sweets and just keep up with him as he kept running around town like a wild little Pachirisu," said Lucario. "Pretty soon, he got pretty tired eventually."
END:
It ended up becoming Lucario's responsibility to get P.T. to bed once he had tired himself out from all of the wild partying he did. However, because he was so incredibly full from all of the milk beverages he drank at the milk bar, he ended up with a nasty hangover in the middle of the night while lying in bed, which wasn't a pretty sight.
As for Fox & Krystal, they were shown enjoying a romantic evening drinking from wine glasses while watching another fireworks display over the clock tower. Everyone was happy.
Soon enough, it was time for the race to start once again.
"After once again narrowly avoiding elimination, can Mario & Luigi manage to catch up despite still being several hours behind the other teams," said Toad, "and… will Pokémon Trainer & Lucario's strategy continue to test their friendships with several of the other teams, and will it affect their race performance? Fox & Krystal, who were the first team to arrive at 6:03 pm, will depart first at 6:03 am."
FOX & KRYSTAL: 1st Team to depart, 6:03 am
"I wonder why we're having to wear winter gear?" said Krystal, referring to the heavy winter coats she and Fox were required to wear for the beginning of the leg, even though it wasn't that cold out. They were also given spiky shoes and hiking poles.
"I don't know. Guess this clue we have in our hands will tell us all about it," Fox said before it was time to open it.
"Make your way to the space colony up in outer space. Once there, you must book tickets to get onboard a spaceship, and fly to the Kanto Region in the Pokémon World."
TOAD'S NARRATION:
"Before flying to Kanto, teams must travel on foot up the snowy mountain trails of the Northern Mountains of Termina and find the Goron Village. There, teams must sign up to get onboard one of four Sheikah stone rocket shuttles that will each be leaving thirty minutes in between. These rocket shuttles will lift the teams up to a space colony up in outer space, and it is there where teams must purchase tickets to get onboard a flight to the Kanto Region in the Pokémon World. From now on, teams are required to buy plane tickets of their own, so from here on out, it'll be their own responsibility to fly to every location. Once teams have arrived in Kanto, teams must travel by taxi several miles to Pallet Town, and find Professor Oak's Laboratory. It is here where teams will find their next clue."
END:
"Alright, let's go," said Fox.
CONFESSIONAL:
FOX & KRYSTAL: Dating
"It feels really good being in first place leading ahead of seven other teams," said Krystal. "I feel like Fox and I can definitely stay in this position for the rest of the race because we're very competitive and I definitely believe we're very capable of dominating this game."
END:
It was still dark out, and after exiting the inn, Fox & Krystal were now going up a flight of stairs that led up to the northern area of Eastern Clock Town, which was near the mayor's residence.
"You really think these Sheikah rocket ships - or whatever you call them - will really lead us up into space?" said Krystal, who didn't think it sounded very safe.
"Who knows," said Fox. "From what I gather from Zelda, the Sheikah are known to be rather technologically advanced. This world can work in mysterious ways sometimes."
"I suppose you're right," said Krystal.
CONFESSIONAL:
"Termina was great," said Fox. "The Carnival of Time was great. I've enjoyed getting to celebrating that, but now it's time for the game to continue. Krystal and I are definitely ready for what's in store next now that we've figured out how to run this race."
END:
The two vulpine had now entered Northern Clock Town and were making their way to the Northern Exit.
"Goodbye, Clock Town," said Fox, humorously waving goodbye to the area even though there was no one around. "It's been great hanging around here."
"So long, everybody," said Krystal, playing along with him while laughing. "Thanks for having us here."
The two vulpine were soon outside the town walls, and were shown walking down the stone path that led the way through Termina field to the entrance of the Northern Mountains.
"Alright, let's do this," said Fox, setting up his hiking poles. Krystal did this too. They now began their treck up the snowy mountain trails of the Northern Mountains, and it wasn't long until the air was starting to get colder and thicker.
"Wow," said Krystal, once snowflakes started falling. "It got cold fast."
As the two vulpine continued hiking, the snow beneath their feet was getting inches deeper, and frost started flowing from their mouths as they exhaled.
"This is crazy," said Fox while breathing through the thickness of the air.
Back at the Stock Pot Inn in Clock Town, it was supposed to be time for Pokémon Trainer & Lucario to depart from the mat at 6:24 am; however, the two best friends were still fast asleep in the knife chamber, a room which they shared with Ness & Lucas, Bowser & Bowser Jr., and Mario & Luigi. Pokémon Trainer was always the one that set the alarm on his wrist watch before he and Lucario went to bed, but due to over-exhausting himself from all of the wild partying he did last night, he never got the chance to set the alarm. While they were sleeping in, it was now Peach & Daisy's turn to depart for arriving third in the previous leg.
PEACH & DAISY: Originally 3rd (Now 2nd) Team to depart, 6:36 am
Peach & Daisy were shown in their gorgeous heavy winter coats while Peach got to rip open the clue for their team.
"Make your way up the Northern Mountains of Termina where you must find the Goron Village and sign up for one of four …Sheikah stone… rocket shuttles?" Peach read, confused.
"What?" said Daisy, dumbfounded. "What's THAT all about?"
"I don't know, guess we'll just have to find out," said Peach before she finished reading the rest of the clue.
"Alright then," said Daisy, putting on her golden-yellow backpack, "We're off once again."
"Let's do this," said Peach. The two princesses were now departing the inn.
P.T. & Lucario on the other hand were still fast asleep. They were losing time quick.
CONFESSIONAL:
PEACH & DAISY: Princesses/Best Friends
"Pokémon Trainer & Lucario have been acting a bit odd lately," said Peach. "Not only have they been deciding that they weren't going to help out anybody in any way anymore, but they also had the nerve to try and stab other teams in the back. That is what I've been hearing from other teams."
Daisy nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we can understand if they're competitive and they want to win, but if they're going to continue to play dirty, especially with us, it's going to get ugly real fast. We may be princesses, but we are not to be messed with, especially during a competitive competition. Its bad enough that we have to deal with Bowser & Bowser Jr. in that category as it already is.
END:
Back up the Northern Mountains, Fox & Krystal had found the Mountain Village and were now entering a log cabin that housed two mountain smithies that built and forged swords for a living. They were attempting to ask for directions.
"Hello, sir," said Krystal, talking to one of the guys that lived there. His name was Zubora.
Zubora's gaze lit up once he laid eyes on them. "Hey there. You two lovebirds haven't had your wedding already?" Zubora suddenly asked, seemingly out of nowhere.
"…Huh?" said Fox, whose face was already turning red with embarrassment.
"The wedding masks you two are wearing," Zubora said, pointing at their faces. "They say it's usually considered good luck to exchange your wedding masks on the eve of the carnival, so what's with the delay? Having second thoughts about your union?" he said, smirking. Zubora, like every other local, apparently thought they were wearing fox masks, yet didn't understand that Fox & Krystal were actual anthropomorphic beings.
"…What?!" said Fox, who was now confused and embarrassed at the same time as he didn't usually like being teased about his love for Krystal. "…W-What do you mean?" His temperature was now drastically rising.
"Sir, I-" before Krystal could speak, she was broken off by Zubora, laughing.
"Ha, ha, ha, I'm only messing with you two," he stated. "Yawl should've seen your faces, yours especially." He said, referring to Fox, whose face was now as red as a tomato. This made Krystal giggle.
"Ha, ha, we're not engaged," said Krystal, amused. "We're just visiting. In fact, we're trying to find the Goron Village. You think you can give us directions?"
Before Zubora could respond, a loud roar was coming from the back of the log cabin.
"ROAR! ROAR!"
"What was that?!" said Fox, whose red fur was raised on end in response to the noise. Krystal had the same response as well.
The roars were coming from the other resident of the log cabin, a gigantic hulking creature - which for some reason, didn't have the ability to speak in words. He had just woken up.
"Calm down, Gabora!" Zubora yelled. "There are no intruders! These people are only coming in here to ask for directions!"
"Roar! Roar! Roar!" Gabora continued, asking what Fox & Krystal were doing.
"They said they're looking for the Goron Village!" Zubora yelled back.
"ROOOOOOAAAAARRR! Roar! Roar!"
"What's he saying now?" asked Krystal, who was starting to get interested. Gabora continued roaring before Zubora could respond to her.
"No you can't!" Zubora continued. "We're going to be busy forging swords all day today, remember?! You don't have time to help them!"
"He wants to help us?" asked Krystal.
"Of course he does; he's saying he's willing to lead you guys to Goron Village, but like I said, we're going to be very busy today."
"But he DOES know where it is, right?" asked Fox.
"He most certainly does. He traverses these mountains to gather wood and metal for our swords and shields, but we have plenty of product in stock today, so there's no need for him to go outside right now."
"Roar! Roar! ROOOOAAAAR! Roar!"
"WHAT?! What do you mean we're all out of metal?!" Zubora yelled back at him.
As Zubora and Gabora continued yelling at each other, Fox & Krystal couldn't help but laugh at the comroddery that these two guys had as they found it to be hilarious.
"Don't go lying to me!" Zubora yelled. "You're not getting out of work today! And you're most certainly not going to use these two strangers as an excuse!"
"ROOOAAAAARR!"
"Look, how about you just tell them we're the Goron Village is?! We don't have time for this nonsense!"
"Roar! Roar! Roar! Roar!"
"What did he say now?" asked Fox.
"He said just turn to your right after exiting this cabin and if you turn around, you'll see a sign that points to where it is," said Zubora, who then proceeded to give them more info on how to find the Goron Village from there.
"Alright, thanks guys," said Fox, getting ready to head out the door.
"Yes, thank you," said Krystal.
"ROOOAAAARRR" Gabora continued once more, saying goodbye to the two vulpine.
Back at the Stock Pot Inn, P.T. & Lucario were still sleeping in by the time Kirby & Jigglypuff had awoken, whom had slept in the Inn's knife chamber during their break period along with Fox & Krystal, Peach & Daisy, and Link & Zelda. The two pink puffballs didn't know that they were now going to be the third team to depart since P.T. & Lucario hadn't woken up from their deep sleep yet.
KIRBY & JIGGLYPUFF: Originally 4th (Now 3rd) Team to depart, 6:51 am
Kirby let Jigglypuff rip open and read their clue.
"Once you're at the space colony, you must buy flight tickets of your own, and fly to the KANTO REGION OF THE POKEMON WORLD! EEEEEEEEEEEE!" Jigglypuff shrieked, already feeling excited that she was going to be racing home.
"Wow, sounds exciting," said Kirby, covering his ears, although still smiling for he too felt excited at the prospect of meeting different Pokémon.
"Well, what are we waiting for, let's go!" said Jigglypuff, enthusiastically pulling Kirby along.
"Whoa! Take it easy, Jiggy-Wiggs."
CONFESSIONAL:
KIRBY & JIGGLYPUFF: Long Distance Dating
"I'm actually really happy with how Jigglypuff and I are racing," said Kirby. "We've made it to the fifth leg of the race and we've always managed to avoid elimination, and that makes me feel really good."
"I think our last leg was our best one yet," said Jigglypuff, smiling. "We came in fourth place and we didn't make any mistakes this time around. If we keep this up, we're going to win for sure!"
END:
As for Peach & Daisy, they were busy hiking up the snowy mountain trails of the Northern Mountains. Feeling worried about getting lost, Peach took out a little guidebook of the area that she bought at one of the stands in Clock Town while they were leaving.
"Let's see," Peach said, "to get to Goron Village, we first have to go straight ahead and pass the Mountain Village, turn right and then find the Snow Banks. Once there, we have to walk over the wooden bridges to get to other side of the area."
"That doesn't sound too difficult," said Daisy.
"But take a look at this," Peach showed her a picture in the guidebook, and it contained a scary looking wolf-like creature. "It's a wolfus. There's said to be a lot of them in that area, so we're going to have to remain cautious at all times."
"I think we can handle that. No need to worry," said Daisy, who then continued hiking up the trail with her hiking poles.
Suddenly, Peach sweat dropped. "Any time someone says 'no need to worry', THAT'S the time to start worrying."
Speaking of the Snow Banks, that's where Fox & Krystal were at right now.
"Looks like the ice is melting," said Fox, referring to the frozen lake under the wooden bridges they were walking over at that moment. This was due to the fact that winter was almost over in the Northern Mountains. "We're going to have to be careful, Krystal."
"It sure is awfully quiet around here," she said.
Once the two vulpine crossed the first wooden bridge to the first snow bank, however, a white creature suddenly came sprawling out of the ground and howled at the sky. It was a white wolfus.
"What the-!" said Krystal, but she was cut off by Fox.
"Get back!" Fox shoved her aside to keep her from danger, and took out his blaster.
"But Fox…"
"That thing is dangerous! Let me handle this!" Once the white wolfus prepared for attack, Fox shot it with his blaster several times, and defeated it. Fox then turned back towards Krystal feeling proud of himself.
"See, not a problem," said Fox all smug. This left Krystal annoyed.
"I could've handled that thing too you know," she said, crossing her arms.
"Hey, come on. I just saved you, you know."
"No, Fox, you 'thought' you needed to save me, but I really didn't," she then walked past him to the next wooden bridge.
Fox just sighed. "…You're welcome."
Once Krystal walked across the bridge to the next snow bank, however, another white wolfus suddenly came sprawling out of the ground to attack.
"Krystal, LOOK OUT!" Fox yelled, completely taken by surprise.
"This one's mine!" said Krystal. She then took out her staff and charged at it to attack.
After several ruthless hits, the white wolfus had been defeated. Krystal then looked back at Fox with her other hand on her hip. "See, told you I don't need saving."
Fox stared at her blank for a moment before blinking. "…show off."
Back at the Stock Pot Inn, Lucas was the first one to wake up in the knife chamber of the inn. After wiping the sleep out of his eyes, he suddenly saw P.T. & Lucario sleeping over at the other corner of the room. Lucas then looked at the clock that was on the nightstand to see what time it was.
"Hey, Ness, wake up," Lucas beckoned him, keeping his voice down so as not to wake the other racers. "Come on, Ness."
At that, Ness finally woke up and yawned a bit before speaking. "…I-Is it time for us to leave now?"
"Not only that, take a look at Pokémon Trainer & Lucario."
Ness looked over to what Lucas was talking about. "Huh? They're still fast asleep? But aren't they supposed to leave before us today?" Suddenly, Ness got an idea.
CONFESSIONAL:
NESS & LUCAS: Best Friends
"When we saw Pokémon Trainer & Lucario still fast asleep in their beds, we just knew that this was our big chance to get further ahead in the game," said Lucas, "so we just quietly put on our winter gear, got our things together, and snuck out the bedroom door without waking anybody up."
"Sure, I know not waking up Pokémon Trainer & Lucario was a pretty cheap move, but they did deserve it," said Ness. "If they're not going to help us out, we're not going to help them out. This IS a competition after all, plus there was no rule against it, so why should 'we' have to care?"
END:
NESS & LUCAS: Originally 5th (Now 4th) Team to depart, 6:59 am
Ness ripped open their clue and read it.
"Once you get to Kanto, you must travel by taxi to Pallet Town and find Professor Oak's Laboratory," Ness read.
"Dang that sounds like a lot of traveling for us to do," said Lucas.
"Guess we better get started then," said Ness, who then left the mat. Lucas followed after him as they made their way for the Northern Exit of Clock Town.
Not long after that, P.T. had finally woken up. For some reason, however, something didn't feel right; he actually had a good night sleep.
'Wait a second!' he suddenly thought, and then looked at the clock on the night stand, and found that they had overslept for over half an hour!
"OH MY GOSH!" P.T. screamed out of nowhere, awakening not only Lucario, but the rest of the people sleeping in that room.
"Hey, who woke me?" said Bowser, slightly shocked at P.T.'s little outburst so early in the morning.
"What! What's going on?" Lucario said, suddenly waking up.
"Lucario, I set the alarm wrong!" said P.T. "We are so dead now!"
Lucario's eyes suddenly lit up. "What?! Oh, no, you've got to be kidding me!"
Not wasting any more time, P.T. pulled Lucario out of bed, and they immediately got ready so that they could leave as quickly as they could.
Meanwhile, Bowser just glared at P.T., feeling annoyed at him for waking him up. "Stupid Kid," the grumpy koopa said. Never-the-less, since it was around the time that they were supposed to wake up anyways, he and Bowser Jr. had decided that they may as well get ready to go too.
CONFESSIONAL:
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Best Friends
"I couldn't believe that after all the hard work we went through to stay in the lead in the previous leg, we overslept and fell behind just like that," said P.T., infuriated.
"I just couldn't believe that we could actually be that irresponsible," said Lucario, "I should've set the alarm on my master's wrist watch while he was knocked out."
END:
Not long after, P.T. & Lucario were eventually ready to go, and were finally standing at the mat with their clue in hand.
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Originally 2nd (Now 5th) Team to depart, 7:23 am (59 minutes late)
P.T. quickly ripped open the clue and page skimmed it as fast as he could.
"Blah, blah, blah, make your way to Kanto, blah, blah, blah, DONE!" He then quickly put the clue in his pocket, and started running.
"Master, where are we going?" asked Lucario, following after him.
"The clue said something about the Northern Mountains."
"What did it say we have to do there?"
"I didn't get to that part, but I don't care! We've gotta hurry!"
"Master, slow down!" Lucario said while struggling to keep up with P.T., for that kid still had a little bit of sugar rush in him from the previous night.
Meanwhile, Fox & Krystal finally managed to find Goron Village. Once they had arrived, they started looking around. Goron Village stood on the side of a rocky, snowy mountain, and as they walked, the snow had gotten deeper. Everywhere they looked, they saw many snow covered huts that stood as the roof tops of the Goron Shrine from down below. There were also a few fellow Gorons walking around the area doing their early morning rituals. Fox decided to walk up to one of them for help.
"Excuse me, sir," he said, "Have you seen any giant weird looking Sheikah stone statues that look like rocket ships around here?" Fox said, feeling rather awkward asking such a strange question. He did his best to describe it in the subtlest way possible.
The Goron just stood there, confused, and then just shrugged his shoulders while shaking his head in response.
"Fox, why don't we just continue walking around until we find it," Krystal suggested. "We do still have our lead after all."
Fox agreed, so they continued walking to the other side of the village. Pretty soon, they saw the sign-up board for the rocket shuttles, which stood next to the very edge of the mountain.
"There it is!" Fox pointed out. "Come on, Krystal." Fox then grabbed her hand and they ran toward it.
"Whoa there, take it easy, Tiger," she said, nearly tripping over the snow while Fox pulled her by her hand.
The sign-up board stood where three of the four Sheikah Stone Rocket Shuttles stood while the fourth one was being pulled by four other Gorons who were helping out with production for the day. Once the two vulpine went up to the sign-up board, Fox grabbed the black permanent marker that was attached to a string hanging from the board to write their names while Krystal surveyed what the board said.
"It says there can only be two teams on each shuttle, with the first shuttle departing at 10:30 am. Just like the clue said," said Krystal.
"Right," said Fox, "and we're taking the first shuttle." Fox then signed his and Krystal's name on the board with the permanent marker.
FOX & KRYSTAL: First Team on the 1st Shuttle, departing at 10:30 am
"Guess that means we have a few more hours to kill," said Krystal.
Meanwhile, Peach & Daisy were now walking across the wooden bridges of the Snow Banks holding up frying pans while remaining cautious at the possibility of encountering any wolfuses, like Fox & Krystal did earlier. The area was quiet, with the frosty sound of the wind carrying snow across the air.
"Just keep walking slowly, don't make any noises," Peach whispered while positioning her frying pan, ready for an attack.
"S-sure," said Daisy, shaking her hands while holding her frying pan.
Every step they took, they kept as quite as they possibly could. Fortunately, after a while, they managed to make it to the other side of the Snow Banks safely without any trouble.
"Phew," said Daisy, finally able to breathe. "Glad that's over."
"Let's keep going," said Peach, who put away the frying pans in her backpack, and started walking again.
The Two princesses managed to find the Goron Village and soon encountered the sign-up board for the shuttles. Fox & Krystal were seen waiting there.
"Hey look, Peach & Daisy are here," said Fox, smiling.
"Hi, girls," said Krystal, waving at them.
"Hi," said Peach while Daisy went and signed their names on the board.
PEACH & DAISY: Second Team on the 1st Shuttle, departing at 10:30 am
"Hey, do y'all know where Pokemon Trainer & Lucario are at?" asked Fox, curious.
"Yeah, I thought they were supposed to be the second team to leave after us," Krystal added. "What happened?"
Peach & Daisy looked at each other in response, completely confused.
"I don't know, said Peach, "we never saw them."
"Maybe they got lost," suggested Daisy.
"I hope they're alright," said Krystal.
Back at the Stock Pot Inn, it was now Bowser & Bowser Jr.'s turn to leave.
TOAD'S NARRATION:
"In the previous leg, Bowser & Bowser Jr. arrived at the mat in 6th place. However, in accordance to complaints from other teams, they were said to have been caught cheating while performing the Detour. Production looked at camera footage of Bowser & Bowser Jr. riding on horses that had been fed a milk beverage called Chateau Romani, surging the horses with increased amounts of power and energy, which allowed them to beat the task much quicker than usual. Usually, teams that are caught rule breaking is often grounds for being assessed a thirty minute penalty, but since the judges allowed this to happen, this technically doesn't count as cheating, so they won't be given the thirty minute penalty. However, because this gave Bowser & Bowser Jr. an unfair advantage, they were instead given a two-minute penalty, for that is usually around the amount of time it took for teams to ride their horses around the Gorman Racetrack. This penalty, however, will not affect their leg placement."
END:
Bowser & Bowser Jr.: 6th Team to depart, 7:35 am (after completing a 2-minute penalty)
"Alright, let's see what we have here," said Bowser, ripping open the clue.
"To get to Kanto, you must get on board a flight, yaddy, yaddy, yadda," he finished. "Alright let's go, son."
Bowser Jr. followed after him while not saying anything for he didn't want to start any fights with his dad again.
CONFESSIONAL:
BOWSER & BOWSER JR.: Father-Son
"The last leg of the race has so far been the worst leg for me," said Bowser Jr. "We got into a several heated arguments throughout the leg, and the whole thing was just completely uneventful. It was due to our constant fighting that we ended up not speaking to each other at all during the thirty-six-hour break period at the pit-stop. I really don't know how much longer I can keep this up. I just can't stand being around my dad anymore." He then sighed. "I just can't.
"Is this race destroying my relationship with my son?" said Bowser. "Well, whatever. All I can say is, Bowser Jr. has been quite a challenge for me to handle lately. The little loser can't learn to stay in his place and understand that his dad has everything under control. Instead, he just goes and tries to take charge of everything when he really doesn't know what he's doing. I just really don't get him a lot of the time."
END:
The two koopas were now trudging up the snowy mountain trail of the Northern Mountains.
"Son, slow down!" said Bowser, falling behind while climbing up the snow. "Why can't you learn to stay with me?"
"Give me a break, will you? It's not my fault you're so fat and old." Bowser Jr. dared to say.
"WHY YOU LITTLE-!" Bowser angrily starting chasing after him in hot pursuit, causing Bowser Jr. to run away screaming.
At that moment, Ness & Lucas were shown coming out of the Mountain Smithy's log cabin having received directions from them, like Fox & Krystal did earlier.
"Alright, thanks a lot, guys," said Ness.
"Yeah, thank you," said Lucas.
"Alright, now we have to find the Snow Banks."
Speaking of the Snow Banks, that's where Kirby & Jigglypuff were at now, and now, THEY were the ones having a bad encounter with wolfeses.
"HYAH!" cried Kirby, beating one up.
"Die, you wolf zombies!" cried Jigglypuff, slapping one to death.
With both of their efforts, the two puffballs were able to destroy the wolfeses that they encountered and leave the Snow Banks unscathed. Later, they were shown wandering around Goron Village.
"Let's see, where could that sign-up board be?" thought Kirby.
"Look, Peach & Daisy and Fox & Krystal are over there," said Jigglypuff, pointing at them.
"Hey, yawl," said Kirby, walking toward them with Jigglypuff.
"Hi guys!" said the Princesses, who were happy to see them.
"Hey, yawl, how's it going?" said Fox.
"Did you see Pokémon Trainer & Lucario anywhere?" asked Daisy. "We never saw them while we were on our way over here."
"We haven't seen them either," Jigglypuff shrugged while Kirby went to sign their names on the board for shuttle departures.
KIRBY & JUIGGLYPUFF: First Team on the 2nd Shuttle, departing at 11:00 am
Later, Ness & Lucas became the next team to arrive at Goron Village. They managed to get pass the Snow Banks without any encounters with wolfeses.
"Hey, Ness, have yawl seen Pokémon Trainer & Lucario anywhere?" Asked Krystal. "They haven't arrived, yet."
That's when Ness gave Lucas the look. Lucas did the same.
"You think we should tell them?" asked Lucas.
"Yeah, I believe it's best that we tell them," said Ness, who then looked at Krystal. "We actually did see them, and you're not going to believe what we're about to tell you."
"Why? What happened?" said Fox.
"Yeah, tell us all about it," Jigglypuff added, who was getting interested.
While Lucas was signing their names on the board, Ness told the other teams all about P.T. & Lucario, and how they choose not to wake them up so they could get ahead.
NESS & LUCAS: Second Team on the 2nd Shuttle, departing at 11:00 am
Once Ness finished telling them everything, the three other teams were just shocked.
"No way!" cried Daisy, while Peach gasped. They just could not believe it. P.T. & Lucario of all people.
"So, you guys just left them sleeping in?" said Fox. "Dang, yawl." He then gave Ness a high five.
"You guys are sneeeeakyyyyy," Jigglypuff teased playfully, which made Kirby laugh. "Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky."
"Ha, ha, yeah, I guess we are," said Lucas.
"I just can't believe Pokémon Trainer & Lucario decided to sleep in," said Krystal, jumping in. "Seriously, with the amount of competitiveness that those two have, I kind of expected more out of them."
"Oh well," said Peach, shrugging her shoulders. "That's too bad for them." As much as she loved hearing about P.T. & Lucario's misfortunes, she did her best not to be a bad sport about it.
As for Bowser & Bowser Jr., they weren't doing so good either.
"Pull harder you little twerp!" Bowser yelled. He was having trouble climbing over a big icy boulder that they came across. Bowser Jr. was having to pull him up.
"That's easy for you to say," Bowser Jr. struggled. "You're too heavy."
"WILL YOU SHUT UP! Stop insulting my weight you little twit!" he said this while his foot couldn't get a good hold on a slippery spot of the rock he was climbing.
"Maybe if you weren't such a jerk all the time, I wouldn't have to feel the need to insult your weight!" While struggling to pull him up, he suddenly felt a cramp coming along in his waist, causing him to let go of Bowser.
"DAAAAH!" Bowser, screamed, landing in the snow with a thud. He then got back up, covered in snow.
"…Oops," said Bowser Jr.
Bowser growled angrily at him in response while bits of snow were falling off his head.
Back at the Stock Pot Inn, it was Link & Sheik's turn to depart.
LINK & SHEIK (A.K.A. Zelda): 7th Team to Depart, 7:47 am
Link ripped open the clue and read it.
"You have one-hundred and two dollars and fifty-seven cents for this leg of the race," Link read. After reading it, they were ready to go.
"Alright, let's get out of here," said Sheik, "this inn is disgusting."
"Hey, come on." Link felt insulted, for he liked the Stock Pott Inn. The people that worked there were always happy to be of his service after all Link did for them in the past. "The inn wasn't that bad of a place to stay at."
"You're right, Link, it was worse. Too dilapidated and ramshackle for my tastes. Yuck."
Link sighed. "Where did King Daphnis go wrong with raising this girl," he mumbled to himself.
"I heard that!" Sheik said.
CONFESSIONAL:
LINK & SHEIK: Newly Dating
"Yeah, I haven't been feeling like such a good person lately," said Sheik. "I know Link is a good partner, and I know he is smart. I don't know, I guess the only reason I yell and give him such a hard time is only because I want to win, and I don't want us to feel like failures. You know? I can't help it that I am the way I am sometimes."
END:
Link & Sheik were now walking through the town walls of Northern Clock Town.
"Hey, Sheik, you about ready to go back to being Zelda? You know, your better and much prettier form?" Link teased.
Sheik playfully nudged him in the arm again. "Shut up."
Link laughed. "Hey, come on, I'm only messing with you."
"Yeah, sure you are. Maybe It's because of all your messing around that we suck at this race so much."
"Hey," Link now felt offended. "At least I actually do stuff. I haven't seen YOU do much of anything lately."
"I do tasks just as well as you do, Link."
"Yeah, but as far as I'm concerned, you still haven't done any Roadblocks your royal laziness."
Sheik sighed, feeling annoyed. "Whatever, Link."
CONFESSIONAL:
"I don't know what's gotten into Zelda lately," said Link. "Her yelling and complaining is getting bad enough as it is, but now she's not even wanting to help out a lot of the time. Even when we do Detours, she mostly just stands around giving me a hard time while I'm having to do most of the work myself, and it's really getting on my nerves. However, I still want to get to the end and win, so I'm not planning on throwing this game out of spite any time soon, but if I want to get what I want out of Zelda, I need to figure out some way to encourage her to start pulling some weight of her own. After all, if we're to have a healthy relationship, everything should be done fifty-fifty when we're working together."
END:
Back at Goron Village, the first four teams that arrived were getting anxious over which team would arrive next. Pretty soon, they heard footsteps and familiar voices.
"I think another team is coming!" said Jigglypuff, perking up.
Just as she thought, another team had arrived at Goron Village and were shown coming around the corner. Except, it only turned out to be Bowser & Bowser Jr., leaving everyone present to be disappointed.
"We're here Dad, we finally made it," said Bowser Jr., spotting the sign-up board, as well as the other teams.
"Speak for yourself!" Bowser indignantly said, for he was exhausted from climbing, and there were icycles forming from his face. He looked battered.
While Bowser Jr. went to sign their names on the 11:30 departure shuttle, the other teams were now starting to grow concerned.
"Okay, I can't take this any longer. Just where the heck are Pokémon Trainer & Lucario?" said Daisy, thinking this was getting ridiculous.
"I know, they should be here by now," said Peach. "This doesn't make any sense."
BOWSER & BOWSER JR.: First Team on the 3rd Shuttle, departing at 11:30 am
Meanwhile, Link & Sheik were shown to be busy climbing up the snowy trails. Link was leading the way, for he had been here before.
"It sure is a nice day to go hiking today," said Link, smiling while looking at the familiar surroundings.
"N-no it isn't," said Sheik, who was shivering while walking, "It's f-f-freezing out here!"
"Hey now, the cold weather is all part of the experience of hiking up these mountains," said Link. "Besides, as long as you keep walking, your body temperature will increase as you go. Plus, the sun is coming out right now, so that will definitely help."
"Yeah right, like that's going to make ME feel any better," Sheik complained, for the toes in her feet were starting to freeze
Meanwhile, P.T. & Lucario struggled hiking the mountain trail. They were still ahead of Link & Sheik. Suddenly, Lucario spotted a big Goron coming down the trail carrying a big heavy looking bag on his back.
"Excuse me, sir," said Lucario. "Where does this trail lead to? We're trying to find Goron Village."
"Well, you're going in the right direction," said the Goron, who was in a hurry. "it's only a bit more of a distance up ahead."
"Okay, thank you," said Lucario, waving the Goron goodbye as he passed them.
"Come on, let's go!" said P.T., running up ahead now that they knew where to go.
Later, Both Link & Sheik and P.T. & Lucario were near the Mountain Village, though neither team saw each other yet. Sheik, who didn't care much about climbing, was panting heavily while slowly trying to keep up with Link, who loved climbing.
"Link, can we please stop for a minute?" Sheik was breathing harder at this point. "I don't think I can take much longer."
Link once again stopped for her. "You know, Zel, hiking these mountains really isn't that hard."
"Well it is to me," Sheik then suddenly plopped herself onto the ground. To her, hiking these mountains was much harder than hiking up the trails of Death Mountain back in Hyrule. "…and I feel like the snow is trying to make my feet fall off." She was now rubbing the souls of her feet for they were continuing to get colder.
Link sighed. "Here, let me see if I have any spare socks that I can let you wear..."
Sheik winced a bit at such a thought while Link proceeded to open his backpack. "Ew! Link, no! I don't want to wear your dirty smelly socks!"
"What? Why not?"
"Because that's gross!"
As for P.T. & Lucario, they had found the Mountain Village. While looking around, Lucario spotted a sign, so he went to go and read it.
"Master, this sign says that Goron Village is this way," he said, pointing in that direction. It was just straight ahead from where they were at.
"Okay then." P.T. then ran in that direction with Lucario following close behind him.
Meanwhile, the first five teams that arrived at Goron Village were waiting anxiously to see which team would arrive next. While they waited, Ness couldn't help but notice a couple of Gorons carrying giant barrel-like containers containing what most likely had gun powder within them. One of the Gorons was shown placing one next to the Sheikah Stone Rocket that Fox & Krystal and Peach & Daisy were going to be in later.
"I wonder what that is," Lucas said to himself, taking a closer look.
"It looks to me like some sort of explosive," said Fox, responding to his question. "I'd get back if I were you. Any explosive as big as that can kill you in an instant."
Gulping at such a thought, Lucas backed away in response. "Maybe Link'll tell us what it is and what it's all about. He should know a lot about weapons like that here in Termina."
"I'm sure he does," Kirby agreed.
"Speaking of Link, do you think him and Zelda will get here before P.T. & Lucario?" Jigglypuff asked Peach.
"Probably so," she said. "Wouldn't be surprised if they did. What with Link having been here before after all."
The teams would continue talking for a while before someone heard footsteps and talking getting closer to them once again. Was it Link & Sheik or P.T. & Lucario?
"Here it is, Master. This is it. We finally made it to Goron Village."
"It's them!" Kirby pointed out from afar when he went to see who it was, "it's Pokémon Trainer & Lucario. They're finally here."
P.T. & Lucario had finally arrived. While some of the teams weren't particularly happy to see them, others asked them what the heck happened. P.T. decided to be the one to tell the story while Lucario was signing their names on the board.
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: 2nd Team on the third Shuttle, departing 11:30 am
"So what the heck happened to you guys," asked Fox, curiously.
"We just got lost, no big deal," said P.T., who's ego was too big for him to take responsibility for the irresponsible behavior he had been exhibiting lately.
Almost immediately, Ness & Lucas just looked at each other in complete disbelief. Some of the other racers - Bowser & Bowser Jr. included - had nearly similar reactions.
"Really, now?" said Fox, not sounding entirely convinced. "That's all that happened to you guys?"
"Yeah, totally," P.T. continued, doing his best to act like it was totally the honest truth. "For real, that's all that really happened."
'Yeah, right!' Peach said to herself. She was not buying it all. In fact, nobody was.
CONFESSIONAL:
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Best Friends
"In retrospect, I didn't lie to them EXACTLY," said P.T. "I just wasn't telling them the whole truth. Totally nothing wrong about that."
NESS & LUCAS: Best Friends
"I just KNEW from the very moment Pokémon Trainer opened his mouth that he just flat out lied to our faces," said Ness. He and Lucas DID see them sleeping in at the Inn that morning after all.
Lucas nodded his head in agreement. "Definitely. He just completely exposed how much of a dirty player he truly is."
PEACH & DAISY: Princesses/Best Friends
"Right then and then, Pokémon Trainer & Lucario had officially became public enemy number two on our list of teams to boot," said Peach. "Those two are such fakers."
"Yeah," said Daisy, "after hearing everything Ness & Lucas had to say about them, Pokémon Trainer was definitely not being legit when he told HIS side of the story… oh, and in case anyone's wondering, Bowser & Bowser Jr. are public enemy number one for calling me an idiot."
BOWSER & BOWSER JR.: Father-Son
"I could pretend to applaud those guys for playing a game strategy that's similar to ours," said Bowser, "but even WE aren't that stupid to just go around telling lies that no one will believe."
"Yeah, definitely" Bowser Jr. agreed. "I know for a fact that we are MUCH better liars than they are. I mean come on, ANY strong team for that matter doesn't just simply go from the front of the pack, and end up being one of the second-to-last teams to depart just because of something as stupid as getting lost. Those two don't know jack squat on how to play dirty."
"Yeah, that's OUR specialty," Bowser added. As much as they didn't like to admit it, for once they actually had something to agree upon.
END:
Not long after P.T. & Lucario arrived, Link & Sheik became the next team to arrive at Goron Village, and they were given a much warmer welcome.
"Hi guys!" said Jigglypuff, waving to them extatically.
"Did you enjoy the hike up the mountain, Sheik?" Peach asked.
"No! It sucked!" Sheik exclaimed, causing several racers to laugh.
"Ha, ha. Why? I thought the hike up these snowy mountains would exhilarate you in a way," said Daisy. "It sure exhilarated me."
"That's just it, these mountains are too snowy," Sheik exclaimed once more. "There's too much snow up here and it's too cold!"
"Well I happened to like the hike up these mountains in case anyone's wondering," said Link while signing the board. "It reminded me of old times."
"Glad that YOU'RE happy!" said Sheik, feeling miserable as she watched him write their names down on the board. This left Peach feeling worried about her.
LINK & SHEIK: 1st Team on the Last Shuttle, departing at 12:00 pm
"Sheik, are you alright?" Peach asked, showing her concern.
"No, I'm not alright!"
"Do you want to talk about it?" Daisy suggested.
Sheik sighed. "No, I'd rather not." Sheik didn't want to talk about how completely out of her element she was feeling at the moment. Because it looked like everyone was having such a great time, she didn't think anybody else would understand. She instead decided to just go and sit down in the cold to feel miserable.
"…Okay, well …don't forget, we are here for you if you need anything," said Peach, who really wanted to help her out.
"I'll be fine," said Sheik in an unconvincing sort of way. Now, Mario & Luigi were the only team that hadn't arrived yet.
Pretty soon, the clock had struck 10:20 a.m., meaning it was almost time for the first shuttle to take off. Fox & Krystal and Peach & Daisy went ahead and put their backpacks inside some secret compartments of the giant Sheikah stone rocket ships. While Daisy and the two vulpine were inside the ship to prepare for take-off, Peach went over to Sheik to offer her one of her blankets.
"You want this?" Peach offered to her. "It'll help keep you warm while you continue waiting out here."
"It's okay, Peach. I'm f-f-f-fine," Sheik insisted, despite shivering from the freezing cold. "Really, I am."
Before Peach could look down in disappointment for failing to help her friend out, Link walked up to her. "I'll take this for her," Link whispered to her before taking the blanket, "in case she changes her mind."
"Thank you!" she whispered back, and handed over the blanket to him.
"Come on, Peach!" Daisy called out to her. "It's almost time to go!"
"Coming!" Peach then kissed Link on the cheek before leaving to enter the spaceship.
After that, once Fox & Krystal and Peach & Daisy were safely secure inside the spaceship with their seatbelts on, that's when one of the Gorons shut the magical stone door tightly. He then went and told the other teams to back away so he could start it up. Meanwhile, while Fox & Krystal were excitedly anticipating what was about to happen, Peach & Daisy were feeling rather anxious.
"You nervous, Daisy?" asked Peach.
"Yeah. Are you?" she asked in return.
"Yeah."
Meanwhile, the teams were now waiting from a much further distance.
"So what's that big giant barrel thingy?" Lucas asked Link, feeling curious.
"That's a powder keg," said Link. "It's a special type of bomb that Gorons up here in the mountains use to blow stuff up."
"But then if he's lighting it …won't that thing be powerful enough to blow up that big ol' stone ship thingy, and with Fox & Krystal and Peach & Daisy inside that thing too?!" said Lucas worriedly, being the naïve little kid that he was.
Link laughed a bit. "Not to worry kiddo, that rocket ship is supposed to be one giant Sheikah Stone, remember? Sheikah stones are supposed to contain magical elements to help them withstand anything that tries to destroy them, so it'll be safe. In fact, did you know that if you try and light a regular bomb next to a normal little Sheikah stone, it'll only cause it to take off into the sky without causing any damage?"
"Huh, I didn't know that," said Lucas.
"So that's why in this instance, that Goron is lighting a much bigger powder keg bomb to help blast that much bigger Sheikah Stone rocket ship into outer space to help get it to the space colony up above," said Ness, trying to add it all together.
"Yep, t-that's just about right," said Sheik, who was a Sheikah herself of course.
"Excellent observation, Ness," Link added. This made Ness feel good about himself.
"harrumph! Whatever," Bowser Jr. said, who felt annoyed that they were not the ones inside that rocket ship at the moment for he wanted them to be the ones to leave first.
A second later, the Goron advised all the teams to back away further and cover their ears. As everyone did so, he lit a flame on his torch and lit the string on the powder keg bomb, causing sparks to fly everywhere.
"Here it comes," said Link.
"This is going to be awesome!" said Kirby, smiling big.
Eventually, the sparks got closer to the powder keg, and before everyone knew it, there was a big, loud explosion. This surprised everyone, but in a good way. A moment after, blue beams of light were coming from the big giant Sheikah Stone counting down to 3,2,1. Then a red beam came out, and suddenly, flames were shooting from the bottom of the Sheikah Stone, and then it suddenly started blasting off into the sky like a rocket ship.
"There it goes!" Jigglypuff yelled, jumping up and down excitedly.
The Stone went higher and higher, taking Fox & Krystal and Peach & Daisy with it. Everyone was in awe by what they were witnessing, and pretty soon, the Sheikah stone rocket ship had disappeared out of sight. It was now in outer space. All of the teams were now cheering with excitement, for they now couldn't wait for their turns to come. It just looked like so much fun.
P.T. on the other hand was feeling kind of down as he watched that ship take off into outer space first. 'Just think, if it hadn't been for me, Lucario & I could've been up in there instead of Peach & Daisy. How could I have been so careless?!'
"So now, the only team that isn't here at the moment yet is… Mario & Luigi?" said Jigglypuff.
"Yep, that's right," said Kirby. "In fact, I hear they're still going to be hours behind."
"But then won't that mean Link & Sheik will have to wait here longer as well?" Jigglypuff wondered, since there were only four shuttles. "You know, since each shuttle has to have two teams inside each one?"
Overhearing her, Sheik shuddered in annoyance at the possibility. "No!" she said to herself. "Just…no!"
Later, it would be about ten till eleven a.m. before it would be time for Kirby & Jigglypuff and Ness & Lucas to leave. Because of this, Jigglypuff was feeling excited as always.
"YAY! I'm so happy we're going next!" she was now jubilantly jumping up and down in sheer joy. "This is going to be soooooooo SWEET!"
"Alright, come on now Jiggy-Wigs," said Kirby, picking up his back pack. "If we want to get on, we better have our stuff put away first."
"Oki-Doki," she said before picking up her backpack as well.
"You ready for this, Lucas?" said Ness.
Lucas looked up at the giant Sheikah stone that they were going to ride inside up into space. "I am SO ready!"
"That's good to hear," said Ness.
By the time everything was put away, both teams were buckled up and ready to go, so the Goron closed the stone door tightly and once again asked teams to back away. This time, the only teams left to bear witness were Link & Sheik, Pokémon Trainer & Lucario, and Bowser & Bowser Jr. The Goron then lit the powder keg, and the whole process continued from there. Pretty soon, Kirby & Jigglypuff's and Ness & Lucas' shuttle was now taking off into space.
Meanwhile, inside the space ship…
"YEAH HOOOOOO!" Jigglypuff screamed, enjoying the ride with her arms up. Kirby, as well as Ness & Lucas were doing this too having the time of their lives. It was just like riding a fun roller-coaster at an amusement park.
CONFESSIONAL:
KIRBY & JIGGLYPUFF: Long Distance Dating
"That rocket ship ride was SO MUCH FUN!" Jigglypuff squealed. "It was like being on a roller coaster that was going up into outer space. It was just so… SPECTACULAR!"
NESS & LUCAS: Best Friends
"Riding in that little stone spaceship was SO frightening!" said Lucas, "and by that, I mean frightening in a fun way."
Ness laughed.
END:
"Looks like we're going next, son," said Bowser.
"Unfortunately, so are we," said P.T. Although he was happy they would be the next ones to go, he didn't like the idea of being cramped inside a small spaceship with those disgusting koopas, or as he liked to refer to them as, the evil mutant turtles.
"I sure help Zel will be alright by the time it'll be 'our' turn," said Link, looking worriedly at Sheik.
Pretty soon, the clock was then at eleven-twenty a.m., and once Bowser & Bowser Jr. and P.T. & Lucario got their backpacks loaded in their secret compartments, everyone was ready to go.
"We better get back now, Zel," Link while the two teams ahead of them were getting inside their shuttle.
Sheik did as he said. "I wish Mario & Luigi were here by now."
Not a moment too soon, Bowser & Bowser Jr. and P.T. & Lucario were buckled up and ready to lift off, so the Goron shut the stone door tightly. While Link & Sheik covered their ears, the Goron lit the next powder keg and after it exploded the third Sheikah stone space ship lifted off the ground and went into the air. It soon disappeared up into space like the other two shuttles before it, so now Link & Sheik were the last two people left waiting Goron Village… for now.
"So…when 'are' Mario & Luigi going to get here?" Link said.
Unfortunately for him and Zelda, it would be for another couple of hours or so before Mario & Luigi would even be able to leave the mat at the pit-stop. Meanwhile, up in outer space, Fox & Krystal and Peach & Daisy's ship had slowed down a bit up in the blackness of space now that the space ship had left the atmosphere and was now entering zero gravity. Pretty soon, Peach began noticing that her long blond locks of hair was now floating all on its own. Daisy was noticing this too.
"I can't believe it. This is just unreal!" said Peach.
"I can't believe we can actually breath in this thing," said Krystal.
"Wow, this Sheikah stone rocket ship really IS magical," Daisy added.
"Well girls, only a matter time before we reach the space colony," said Fox.
Pretty soon, after a couple more hours of space travel, the space shuttle eventually reached the space colony. Once it got close enough, a giant metal claw extended from the base and grabbed hold of the little stone ship, causing a thud.
"Woah!" said Peach.
"It looks like we're finally here," said Krystal.
The claw brought the ship towards the landing zone building and set the ship on a safe landing. Once the ship was safely indoors behind closed large encased glass windows, the door to the Sheikah stone rocket ship had opened, and the two teams had gotten out.
"We made it!" said Daisy. "We made it through outer space!"
"Come on, Krystal," said Fox, who started running after putting on his backpack. "We gotta find a flight to Kanto!"
The two princesses followed them.
FOX & KRYSTAL and PEACH & DAISY: Currently in 1st and 2nd place
Back in Goron Village, Link went over to the Goron to ask him something.
"Excuse us sir," said Link, "is it somehow possible that yawl have a fifth giant Sheikah Stone? You know, incase another team doesn't get here in time?" It was now 11:45 am.
"Well, I'm sorry sir," said the Goron, "but I'm afraid we were only able to have four giant Sheikah Stones provided today."
"You mean you can't make another one?!" said Sheik. She did not want to have to wait out in the snow for who knew how much longer.
"We don't make them, sir," the Goron said to Sheik, "we were only tasked to provide them for you guys today. Sorry."
"Sheik, can't YOU make us a giant Sheikah Stone?" Link asked her. "You know, since your… Sheik."
"Very funny Link," said Sheik. Unfortunately for her, she didn't take up any Sheikah pottery making lessons while training under Impa, so there was nothing that could be done.
Link sighed. "Seriously, so we just wait until Mario & Luigi arrive?" said Link. "But it'll be forever by the time those guys will even be allowed to leave the pit-stop!"
"UGH!" said Sheik, stomping the frozen ground. "This is ridiculous!"
Back at the Space Colony in outer space, Fox & Krystal ran up to one of the counters to talk to a space flight agent. Peach & Daisy were behind them.
"Excuse me, sir," Fox asked the yellow Yoshi sitting behind the counter. "Are there any flights available to the Kanto Region of the Pokémon World?"
"Let me check my computer," the yellow Yoshi, who then went and typed it in on the keyboard. "Okay, there's one flight to Kanto that you just missed. It took off fourteen minutes ago."
"Darn it!" said Fox.
"We were so close," Krystal added. "When's the next flight going to leave then?"
"And on which airlines?" Fox added in.
The Yellow Yoshi continued typing in. "Okay now… here it is. Um, there are going to be two different flights available in the next twelve hours. One will be from Power Star Airlines while another one from S.E.A.S." (That stands for Subspace Emissary Air Services)
"Alright, thank you very much," said Krystal.
"So what did he say?" Peach asked, who was standing behind them with Daisy.
"He said there are only going to be two different flights available in the next twelve hours," said Fox.
"Only two?" said Daisy.
"Well this 'is' a rather small space colony, so I'm not surprised," said Fox. "Come on, we gotta go book our names for those two flights."
The two teams then started looking around to find the front desks of Power-Star Airlines and S.E.A.S.
Meanwhile, the second space shuttle that left Goron Village had arrived at the Space Colony in the same manner as the one before theirs. Once the door opened, Kirby & Jigglypuff and Ness & Lucas got out and started running.
"Whew!" said Kirby. "glad THAT's finally over."
"Man, I was about to get space-sick in those tiny little space ships," said Lucas. It had been a rather long flight for those two teams.
KIRBY & JIGGLYPUFF and NESS & LUCAS: Currently in 3rd and 4th place
The two teams then decided to split up and look around for flights. Later, after wandering around the space colony for a bit, Ness & Lucas had found the desk that Fox & Krystal and Peach & Daisy were at earlier.
"Excuse me, sir," Ness asked the same yellow Yoshi, "are there any flights from here to Kanto that are available?"
"Yes, the next two available flights will be taking off in the next twelve hours. One is from Power Star Airlines and the other is from S.E.A.S."
"Twelve hours!?" said Lucas in disbelief.
"You're not serious!" Ness added.
"I'm afraid so, the last flight there departed about forty-five minutes ago," said the yellow Yoshi.
"Okay then, thank you," said Ness, who then started running. "Come on, Lucas. We gotta find those two airlines."
"I sure hope Fox & Krystal and Peach & Daisy didn't get on that flight from before," said Lucas while running after Ness.
"I'm sure they didn't," said Ness.
Meanwhile, Kirby & Jigglypuff were still looking around. While doing so, Kirby spotted a woman in her blue employee outfit walking down the aisles.
"Excuse me, ma'am," said Kirby, "do you know where the nearest counter is so that we can charter a flight?"
"Yes, just go down this way to your right and you'll find a ticket agency," she said, pointing in that direction.
"Okay, thanks," said Kirby. "Let's go, Jigglypuff."
"Right behind ya," she said while running behind him.
Back at Goron Village, grey clouds were forming and covering the sun. It had now been over thirty minutes passed the time it was supposed to be for Link & Sheik's and Mario & Luigi's shuttle to take off, yet as expected, Mario & Luigi still hadn't arrived yet.
4th shuttle, scheduled to leave at 12:00 pm (now 34 minutes late)
While the Goron was napping for a bit, Link & Sheik were waiting miserably out in the cold. Sheik, who was feeling colder from the snow more than ever now, was beginning to feel more and more angry.
"I cannot believe this is happening to us, Link," said Sheik. "I'm so mad."
Link sighed. "I'm sorry, Zel. I don't know what else for us to do at this point. You know, I wish there was something I could do to make you happy."
"Grr, why couldn't the other teams have had the decency to build a campfire for us while THEY were waiting?"
"Believe me, I would make a campfire if I could for you, Sheik, but there isn't any dry wood around here."
CONFESSIONAL:
LINK & ZELDA: Newly Dating
"It was truly tough for us having to continue waiting out there for Mario & Luigi to arrive," said Link. "It was wet, and cold, and nasty, and Zel just couldn't take any of it. I mean, she was just miserable."
"You know, at that point, I just couldn't believe that even with the homeland advantage Link and I have been having in those last couple of legs, we were still in last place for no other reason other than the fact that we suck!" said Zelda. "Because of that, we ended up being forced having to continue waiting out there in the freezing, drippy, awful snowy weather just so Mario & Luigi could arrive. It was just so unfair!"
END:
Another half-hour had passed in the unbearable cold, and there was still no sign of the Mario Bros.
"Mario & Luigi better be getting here fast if they know what's good for them at this point," said Sheik, who was now starting to sound threatened.
"Come on, Princess," Link said before she gave him the death glare. "Okay, never mind. I'll shut up."
Sheik then went to bang her head on the giant Sheikah stone rocket ship. "This sucks. Things can't possibly get any worse from here."
Unfortunately, right after she said that, water droplets suddenly started falling heavily from the clouds up in the sky. Link & Sheik were now quickly getting covered in wet, cold rain drops.
"Oh no," said Link, looking at Sheik. Her face was now turning into a darker and angrier shade of red as she looked like she was about ready to scream.
"Sheik, wait!" Before Sheik could give off a loud shriek, Link quickly held up the blanket that Peach gave him. "This should help keep you warm and dry."
Without second thought and without saying a word, Sheik quickly went snatched the blanket out of his hands, and covered herself up. This left Link the only one who was getting wet from the rain.
Meanwhile, back at the Space Colony, Peach & Daisy had found and went over to the desk representing Power-Star Airlines. Luckily for them, there were no lines here. At least not yet.
"Excuse me, miss," Daisy asked the woman from the back of the counter. "Do yawl have the earliest flight to the Kanto region?"
"Let me check the details of this flight," she said while typing in her keyboard. "…Okay… this flight will be heading straight to Kanto. It will be leaving in less than twelve hours and… because there are no layovers with this flight, it will be arriving in Kanto fifteen hours after that.
"Fifteen hours?!" said Peach, who thought that much amount of time on a crowded spaceship sounded ridiculous. "That's a lot of space travel."
"I say we just book it," said Daisy, "what the heck, we can still look at the other flight option over at S.E.A.S."
"Okay, I will put your names on the list," said the woman behind the counter, typing their names on the keyboard.
Meanwhile, after looking around for a bit, Fox & Krystal found the front desk for S.E.A.S., except it was closed.
"It doesn't open until nine hours from now," said Krystal, looking at the sign posted on the wall.
"I guess we'll have to wait until then," said Fox. "Here, let's go find Peach & Daisy."
Meanwhile, Kirby & Jigglypuff were now inside the ticket agency that the woman from earlier directed them too, except no one around. The two puffballs instead decided to get on a computer that was in there to figure out where to book flights from.
"Typing…typing," said Jigglypuff while navigating her way through the system.
"There should be 'something' here that can help us," said Kirby.
As for Ness & Lucas, while they were looking around, they ran into Peach & Daisy.
"Hey, did yawl find any flights available around here?" Lucas asked.
"We just booked our names on a flight over at Power Star Air Lines minutes ago," said Daisy.
"Could you show us where that is?" asked Ness.
"It's down there to your left," Peach pointed in that direction.
"Where are you guys heading off to now?" said Ness.
"We're going to find Fox & Krystal," said Daisy. "They're at S.E.A.S.; that too has an available flight to Kanto. That's why we're only 'booking' tickets right now."
"Sounds pretty smart," Lucas agreed before he and Ness went over to Power Star Air Lines to book their names on that flight as well.
Meanwhile, the space shuttle with Bowser & Bowser Jr. and P.T. & Lucario had arrived. Once the ship landed in the docking bay of the colony, the two teams got out of the ship to started looking around.
"We finally made it," said Bowser Jr. "No need to continue riding in that cruddy little tin can of a ship."
"Now all we need to do is find a way on board the quickest flight to Kanto and get out of here as soon as possible," said Lucario.
BOWSER & BOWSER JR. and POKEMON & LUCARIO: Currently in 5th and 6th place
Meanwhile, Kirby & Jigglypuff had found what they were looking for on the computer.
"There it is," said Kirby, "S.E.A.S. and Power Star Airlines, both contain flights to Kanto."
"That means we only need to purchase tickets from one of those places and then we'll be finished," said Jigglypuff.
"Question is, which one will get us there quickest?"
Meanwhile, Peach & Daisy met back up with Fox & Krystal.
"So, what did you guys find out?" Peach asked them.
"It's not open yet," said Fox, "it'll be another nine hours or so before it opens."
"Well, Peach and I already booked our names on the Power Star Airlines flight, but I guess if we still have all those hours left until S.E.A.S. opens we may as well do something to pass the time," said Daisy.
"I agree, but first, Fox and I have to book our names on Power Star Airlines as well," said Krystal, "this race 'does' come down to first come first served after all."
Both teams agreed. While both vulpine went to go book their flight, the princesses went over to a nearby food court to get some brunch.
Back in the land of Termina, after some time had passed, Mario & Luigi were finally given the will to go. They were now standing at the mat with their clue in their hands eager to get going.
MARIO & LUIGI: Last team to depart, 2:17 pm
Luigi ripped open the clue for his team. "To leave Termina, you must hike up the Northern Mountains and find Goron Village. Once there, you must sign up for one of four Sheikah stone shuttle flights that will take you up to the Colony up in outer Space. Don't be late."
Mario couldn't help but smirk. "I'm afraid it's a bit-a 'late' for the clue to be telling us that. Let's-a rock and roll."
The two Mario Bros quickly left the Stock Pott In and made their way to the Northern Exit of Clock Town.
CONFESSIONAL:
MARIO & LUIGI: Brothers/Plumbers
"Yeah, it-a sucks that we're still several hours behind the other teams, but I'm-a just happy that we're still in the game," said Luigi.
"I still believe-a we can catch up and make things right again," said Mario. "Luigi and I are not-a giving up until Toad says it is over. That's the way we've been approaching this-a race these last four legs."
END:
Back in Goron Village, the Goron that was in charge of lighting up the Sheikah stone rocket ships felt sorry for Link & Sheik. He had decided to round up other Gorons to gather some wood and have them build up a little campfire for the Hylian couple. Since then, Link & Sheik have been warming up by the fire outside the Goron Shrine after getting drenched in the icy rain, except Sheik was still upset.
"How about we play some music while we continue waiting?" Link suggested while hanging Peach's blanket over the fire to dry – it had gotten wet in the rain. "You know, me with my ocarina and you with your harp? Maybe the song, 'New Wave Bosa Nova' will help cheer you up."
"We've been waiting and waiting for hours, Link!" said Sheik, looking at the flames dancing on the fire wood. "How much longer do we have to wait for Mario & Luigi to get here?"
"They'll be here soon, Sheik," said Link for what felt like the seven hundredth time. "Just be patient. Who knows, they'll probably be here in …five minutes."
Unfortunately, five minutes turned into thirty minutes, and Mario & Luigi STILL hadn't arrived. The Hylian couple was still waiting and Link was still drying the wet blanket over the fire.
"Is the blanket ready now, Link?" Sheik asked while continuing to grumble.
"Yeah, I think the blanket is almost dry, Zel," said Link. Before he could give it to Sheik, however, he felt raindrops again. The heavy rain started coming back down fast, causing the fire to go out quickly.
"Oh no," Link lamented, "not again."
The rain was also causing the blanket to get wet all over again. This really set Sheik off big time, who now looked like she was about ready to explode.
"GRRRRRRRRRR! Why is this rain TORTURING us?! WHY are we still in last place?! Why US of all people?! We NEVER get a break! NEVER! IT'S NOT FAIR! AAAAAUUUGGGGGHHHH!" Sheik continued screaming at the top of her lungs for all of the land of Termina to hear while the rain continued to come down. She was really angry now, and Link was starting to worry.
CONFESSIONAL:
LINK & ZELDA: Newly Dating
"It sucked having to continue to wait out there," said Link. "I'm used to enduring the elements, but it was Zelda I was worried about. She hates being wet, and tired, and cold, and hungry, and at that time, she was just not having a good day.
END:
Soon, the rain turned into a thunderstorm. Sheik was now crying terribly with tears rolling down her face along with the rain drops, and she just couldn't get a hold of herself.
"Sheik, calm down, everything is going to be alright!" said Link, trying to comfort her. He tried hugging her, but that didn't do much help for she continued sobbing. Sheik truly wasn't an outdoors person.
As thunder continued to roll, Link figured the rain wasn't going to stop for a long while, so he finally suggested that they take shelter in the nearby Goron Shrine so they could find some more fire to dry off from. He took Sheik by her hands and shoulders and walked her to the entrance of the shrine. Once there, he took out the Goron mask that he obtained a long time ago, transformed into a giant Goron, and then used his iron strength to open the stone entrance. Once the door had opened, Link took off the mask and turned back into a normal Hylian, and took Sheik inside while she continued sobbing.
"It's okay now, you'll get dry soon," said Link now that they were out of the rain. "Everything's fine now."
Sheik didn't say anything once they got inside.
As for Mario & Luigi, the reason why it was taking such a long time for them to get to Goron village was because the rain was making it difficult for them to hike the mountain trails. The rain had melt some of the snow and exposed a lot of ice, making the trail very slippery and dangerous to traverse. At this point, they were getting closer to the Mountain Village.
"Whoa!" cried Luigi, nearly slipping over a rock.
"I got ya," said Mario, grabbing hold of him. He really hoped him and Luigi were not too late.
Back at the Space Colony, while P.T. & Lucario were waiting in line behind Bowser & Bowser Jr. and Kirby & Jigglypuff at the Power Star Airlines booth, Fox & Krystal, Peach & Daisy, and Ness & Lucas were shown hanging out together at the food court now that they had all booked their flights for Power Star Airlines, for the time being until S.E.A.S. opened up. While eating club sandwiches and having soft drinks, they were all in deep discussion about the trailing teams as well as for what was to come in Kanto.
"So, the only two teams that still haven't arrived yet are Link & Zelda and Mario & Luigi," said Daisy.
"Yeah, that's right," said Peach. "I just hope Zelda is doing all right. She seemed very upset when we left Goron Village."
"It's probably because of how tired she is of being stuck in last place all the time," said Ness.
"Yeah, she often likes to complain about that," said Lucas. "especially during break periods at the pit-stops."
"Well, I have been talking with Link a lot lately, and he says that she hasn't been helping him out with tasks very much," said Fox. "I think that's what's contributing to their lack of success."
"Now that I think about it, I haven't seen Zelda perform any Roadblocks for Link at all," said Krystal. "I hate to say this, but I think it's actually 'Zelda' that's slowing her team down. Not Link."
"And yet, she sure loves to put Link down most of the time," Ness pointed out, thinking back to how much they bicker.
"And she whines and complains a lot too," Lucas added. "Who does she think she is anyways?"
Peach then put her hand on Lucas's shoulder. "Hey now, let's not get nasty. After all, we all know Zelda is a nice person; She's probably just suffering from a lot of anxiety lately. We all know how stressful this race can be."
"Absolutely," Daisy agreed, "she's just not very used to being outside of her kingdom most of the time like Peach and I are with OUR kingdoms. I'm sure she can't help it if she feels the need to take it out on Link every now and then, even if it DOES make her come off as a bit unreasonable."
"Yeah, Zelda just needs some help and encouragement, that's all," said Fox.
"Right," Krystal agreed, "I'm sure Link is doing the best he can for her. He just can't do everything."
"Here, once they get here, we'll try and see if we can help them out in any way we can," said Fox, who felt bad for Link having to put up with Zelda the way he's been having to, just to stay in the race.
"Well, regardless of how Zelda will continue to cope with this race, I sure can't wait until we get to the world of Pokémon," said Lucas.
"Me too!" said Daisy, who's eyes started sparkling. "I can't wait to see all of the adorable little Pokémon of Kanto once we get there. Just imagine, all of the wild little Pokémon roaming around in the fields. There will be tons of cute little Clefairies, and Squirtle's, and Pidgeottoes, and … a bunch of cute little Eevee's. EEEEEK! I can't stand even thinking about it! I just want to get there right now!"
"Same here," said Ness, sweat dropping a bit while smiling.
Even Fox & Krystal were shown smiling at each other while giggling a bit in response.
Back in Termina, as the snow was melting in the Northern Mountains, Mario & Luigi had passed the Mountain Village and were now getting passed the Snow Banks. Luckily for them, they didn't come across any wolfeses, and they were carefully getting across the slippery wooden bridges. Pretty soon, they were finally able to arrive at Goron Village and be the last ones to sign up for the final shuttle with Link & Sheik.
MARIO & LUIGI: Second team on the Last Shuttle, now departing at 4:07 pm (4 hours and seven minutes behind schedule)
While Link & Sheik were busy drying off behind the Goron-made bonfire in the Goron Shrine, the Goron that was in charge of starting up the Shuttles came rolling in to tell Link & Sheik the good news. "Link, Link, Mario & Luigi are here, now! They're here!"
"Really?" said Link, who now felt relieved. "That's great!"
"It's about time," said Sheik, who was almost dried off.
"Hurry, hurry, come on! It's time to go now," said the Goron, feeling happy and excited for them.
In just a couple of minutes, Link & Sheik had reunited with Mario & Luigi.
"Sorry to-a keep yawl waiting," said Luigi.
"Took you two long enough," said Sheik.
"I'm just glad we don't have to continue waiting," said Link.
"Yep," said Mario, who was now ready to leave for Kanto. "Let's-a go!"
By that time, both Link & Sheik and Mario & Luigi had finally gotten inside their Sheikah Stone Rocket Ship all buckled up and ready to go. After closing the stone door, the Goron then lit the powder keg bomb with his flame, and started it up. After the explosion, the Sheikah stone rocket ship began to blast off and started heading off into the sky and then into outer space. Both teams had finally managed to leave the land of Termina and were now beginning their space voyage to the Kanto Region of the Pokémon World.
