Ep. 5, I'm Too Young To Go To Jail - Part II
…
The six teams that arrived first at the space colony had all booked a spot on the flight provided by Power Star Airlines. Since it was going to be another several hours before the front desk at S.E.A.S. opened, everyone decided to spend their spare time sleeping in their sleeping bags to get some rest. While most of the teams got together at the benches to hang out and sleep, P.T. & Lucario and Bowser & Bowser Jr. slept on the floor at separate areas of the place for obvious reasons.
Meanwhile, Link & Sheik (Zelda) and Mario & Luigi were still travelling to the space colony. After being forced to ride in a cramped Sheikah stone rocket ship up in outer space for a long time, Sheik was now feeling incredibly anxious as she was shown heavily breathing in and out of a paper bag to help deal with the stress. She did NOT like space travel.
"We'll get there soon, Zel," said Link, patting her on the back. "You're doing good."
Sheik only responded by continuing to breath in and out of her paper bag.
"I sure hope we're-a not too late," said Mario, who was continuing to feel concerned about their position in the race.
Back at the colony, several hours had passed, and it would soon be only a matter of time before the desk at S.E.A.S. opened. Princess Peach was shown getting up and stretching their arms, and once she saw that some of the racers were already rising, she began to wipe the sleep out of her eyes while remaining completely unaware of her untidy bed-head. "…I-Is it almost time now, Daisy?"
After struggling to free herself from her sleeping bag, Daisy yawned while looking at her golden pocket-watch. "…We still have about an hour."
Pokémon Trainer, meanwhile, looked groggy while getting up out of his sleeping bag. "Man, I hate sleeping on solid hard floors," he said while rubbing his sore neck. He didn't have a pillow to lay his head on like some of the other racers did.
"Oh, not to worry, Master," said Lucario, who was already up, "I'm sure the flight we get ourselves on will have a first-class spa with hot tubs and massage chairs to help make you feel better." He joked.
"Oh. Ha. Ha," P.T. replied, sarcastically, causing Lucario to snicker.
As for Krystal, she had decided to go for a walk around the space colony to see if any more teams had arrived yet. After doing so, she was coming back over to where Fox was at.
"Any sign of Link & Zelda and the Mario Bros?" Fox asked her.
Krystal shook her head in response. "Still don't see them."
Speaking of those two teams, the fourth and final Sheikah stone rocket ship had finally arrived at the space colony. After the ship had landed at the docking bay, the stone slab door opened up, allowing both teams to get out.
LINK & SHEIK: Currently in 7th Place
"Looks like we're here," said Link. Sheik followed close behind him.
"Ah! Thank the almighty goddess Hylia that THAT is finally over!" said Sheik after finishing breathing through her paper bag.
MARIO & LUIGI: Currently in Last Place
"So, what do we do now-a?" Luigi wondered while getting out.
"I guess-a we should just go ahead and look around for a flight," Mario suggested.
Both teams started wandering around the space colony to try and figure out where to go and what to do next.
As for everyone else that was there, some were shown busily stuffing their sleeping bags back in their backpacks. While doing so, Jigglypuff spotted two on-coming teams walking over to where they all were. "Guys, look!" she pointed out to them. "They're here! They're finally here!"
"Who's here?" said Kirby, still feeling half asleep.
"Link & Sheik and Mario & Luigi!" she said, "They've finally arrived!" she then giddily ran toward them, followed by a couple of other racers.
"Well it's about time," said Ness, smiling.
"Thank goodness," said Peach, happily. "We were getting worried."
As Peach & Daisy went over to hug Mario & Luigi, Krystal went over and hugged Sheik. "Zelda, it's good to see you're okay."
"I knew you guys would make it!" said Jigglypuff, feeling excited to see them.
"Thanks," said Sheik while hugging Krystal back, happy to see some familiar faces.
"You guys been holding up alright?" asked Fox.
"Uh, no," said Sheik. "The past several hours have been a nightmare."
This made Krystal laugh. "Well, it's a good thing you survived it all, Sheik." She then let Sheik hug other racers who came to greet them.
"Oh wow, you're all wet," said Lucas, while hugging her. This made Link laugh hysterically.
"Yes," Sheik replied, throwing an ugly glare at Link, "I know."
"I'm assuming you've been holding it up alright, Link?" Fox asked Link after shaking his hand.
"Well… in a way," said Link, looking at Sheik.
"Hey-a, Sheik," Luigi said to her before she could nudge Link in response, "now that-a you're no longer in either Hyrule NOR Termina, you can go back to being Princess Zelda now."
"You're right, Luigi!" said Sheik, "I forgot I no longer have to keep my royal identity hidden from the public anymore. Thanks for reminding me. Hey Link, I'm going to go change for a bit."
"Sure, Zel," said Link, "you go right ahead."
"I'm coming with you," said Krystal, offering to go with her and help her out.
"I'll help too," said Peach, while getting her make-up kit out of her bag, "after several days of you being forced to dress up as a boy, I want to help make you look pretty." She also had Daisy agree to help.
"Ooh, ooh! Wait for me, I want to help too!" Jigglypuff called out while energetically running after them to offer her assistance, leaving Kirby and several other racers laughing. Pretty much ALL the girls wanted to help her out so as to have an excuse to have some girl time for a bit.
"Let's go Lucas," Ness beckoned him. "I want to get a quick bite to eat while we still have the chance," Ness suggested since they still had some free time before the desk at S.E.A.S. opened.
"Yeah, I'm starving," said Lucas before they went off to one of the food courts close by.
Mario & Luigi were feeling hungry too, so they decided to do the same thing as them.
"You think we should go eat as well, Master?" Lucario suggested while watching them go.
"We don't need to do that," said P.T. "I've still got tons of super effective energy bars stuffed in my backpack, remember? I say we should go over to the desk at S.E.A.S. and wait there till it opens. We can eat some of our energy bars while waiting there. In fact, let's go there right now." He then started heading in the direction of the desk at S.E.A.S.
"Alright, Master," Lucario agreed while following him.
Bowser saw P.T. & Lucario leave. "Come on, son, we're following them." He then pulled Bowser Jr. up from the ground by the arm, albeit, with a little too much force.
"Ow! Dad!" he complained.
"Oh, be quiet!" Bowser chided as they started following P.T. & Lucario.
As Link watched the other teams go and do their own thing, he started to get a little anxious while waiting on Sheik. "Man, I sure hope Zelda doesn't take too long."
As the girls continued to remain busy in the restrooms, Link, Fox, and Kirby were shown sitting on a bench talking amongst themselves while waiting for them. While talking about certain things, Fox asked Link and Kirby how things were going with their partners.
"Well," said Kirby, "Jigglypuff and I are doing good. Jigglypuff continues to be excitable and energetic, and I think we're getting the hang of this game."
"What about you Link? I'm sure you and Zelda are doing alright?" Fox asked, albeit humorously.
"Uh… define alright," said Link, causing Fox and Kirby laugh.
Link told them everything that happened back in Termina. "Mario & Luigi were still hours behind us, so Zel and I couldn't leave in our Sheikah stone rocket ship until they arrived. We ended up having to wait out in the snow… and then the rain came down. That's when it got cold.
"Y'all really waited out there for that long?" said Kirby, surprised.
"A really long time," said Link. "It got wet and we were freezing; Zelda wouldn't stop complaining about it of course. In fact, all she's ever done so far in this leg is complain, and that's before she started throwing up on the space ship."
"Geeze, I'm sorry to hear that, man," said Fox.
"I just wish there was some way we could get ahead. If we do, maybe it could help make Zelda a little easier to work with. It seems like all we ever do now is fight and make mistakes."
"I know girls can be tough to put up with sometimes, Link. Believe me," said Kirby. "It'll get better as long as you just try to make the best of it."
"Yeah, but this is Zelda we're talking about. She always freaks out when something goes wrong, which is most of the time since we're not good with taxi's, and cars, and flight arrangements. In fact, now that we're here at this space station, we don't even know what to do from here. In all honesty, it's a wonder how we've managed to not get eliminated as of late."
Suddenly, Fox had gotten an idea. "Hmm… You know, Link, there is a way Krystal and I can help you two go further ahead in this game."
"Like what?"
"See, here's what I suggest. What would you say about us forming an alliance together, Link?"
CONFESSIONAL:
FOX & KRYSTAL: Dating
"Before beginning this race, Krystal and I have been considering forming an alliance with some of the other teams," said Fox. "Of course, before doing that, we knew it was best for us to just spend the first few legs to not only figure out this race, but also get to know how the other teams were going to run this race as well. I figure having Link & Zelda in our alliance will be the best for us, since, after four legs of seeing how much those two have struggled, they're going to need help, and we can actually use that to our advantage."
END:
Fox proceeded to tell Link everything about how the alliance would work. He proposed that if they were all in an alliance together, him and Krystal would help them in any way of getting ahead, such as helping them obtain the fastest and earliest flight arrangements. In return, they all had to agree not to use the Yield on one another.
"You would really do all of that for us?" said Link, feeling relieved for once. "Just by being in your alliance?"
"Sure. You can count on us, Link," said Fox, giving him the thumbs up. "What about you, Kirby? You want to join us?"
"Who? Me and Jigglypuff?" said Kirby, feeling rather surprised by his offer. Kirby contemplated this for a bit. On one hand, he didn't feel as though they really needed any help at the moment. Plus, he didn't believe the idea of being in an alliance sounded very ethical since he wanted to win fair and square. On the other hand, he couldn't deny that the offer sounded rather tempting. "Um… I'm not sure. Maybe I'll talk to Jigglypuff about it."
"I understand," said Fox, "but remember, we're always here to help."
"Thanks, I appreciate it," Kirby smiled while shaking his hand.
CONFESSIONAL:
FOX & KRYSTAL: Dating
"I just figured that having an alliance with players that I considered… well, weak would be the best thing for us." Fox hated saying this. "This way, it could help us maintain trust from other teams. I believe this will allow Krystal and I to run this race in potentially the best way possible without having big targets put on our backs. Sure, despite how volatile Link & Zelda could potentially become in later legs, they always seem to be stuck in last place most of the time. They tend to quarrel a lot and have very little experience with modern necessities, and I feel it's because of those two problems that they don't know how to run this race properly. Regardless, though, it's perfect, because I believe if Krystal and I were to get into the final three with them, we would win this game for sure."
END:
At that moment, the girls had finished helping Sheik as they were then coming out of the restrooms, giggling excitedly. Link and the boys got up suddenly as the girls walked toward them. They were shown covering her for they wanted Link to be surprised.
"Now introducing…" said Peach, feeling giddy.
"The new…" said Krystal.
"And improved…" said Daisy.
"Princess Zelda!" Jigglypuff finished excitedly.
The girls then let Zelda show herself to Link, and once he saw her, his jaw dropped. Zelda was now shown back in her elegant and much neater royal gown along with her white long-sleeved gloves. Her hair was once again waist length, her tiara was back on her head, and the make-up that Peach let her borrow made her look even prettier than before. She looked so pretty that Link had sort of forgotten just how much of a headache she had been to him lately.
"Well?" she said. "How do I look?"
Link continued to stand silently with his mouth open for he didn't have any words to express how he felt. This made the girls laugh.
"He thinks you look great!" said Jigglypuff, smiling.
"Definitely," Peach agreed. "You can just tell."
Zelda started giggling at Link, thinking it was kind of adorable. This made him blush.
"Good as new," said Krystal, patting Zelda's shoulder.
Once that was done, the desk at S.E.A.S. was now almost open, so the four teams decided to start walking over to it. While doing so, Fox and Link were shown conversing with their girlfriends over what they had planned.
"I think we just got our first two alliance members," Fox whispered to Krystal.
"Really…?" Krystal then decided to make a guess. "It's Link & Zelda isn't it."
"Correctamundo, Krys. How'd you know?"
"Well isn't it obvious? If there's any team that needs our help the most, it's Link & Zelda for sure."
Speaking of Link, he told Zelda about Fox's offer.
"You're serious, Link?" Zelda couldn't believe her ears. "You mean to say that Fox & Krystal are actually willing to align with us?"
"Exactly," said Link. "It's totally perfect, Zelda. This is exactly what we've been needing this whole time."
CONFESSIONAL:
LINK & ZELDA: Newly Dating
"I'll be perfectly honest here," said Link, "in the beginning, I didn't feel very keen about the idea of forming alliances, because to me, that meant that in order to get what we wanted, we'd have to depend on others."
"I was extremely thrilled when Fox & Krystal offered to form an alliance with us," said Zelda. "Fox & Krystal are just SO good at running this race, whereas for Link and I, we just haven't been getting anywhere at all from working on our own since our placements so far have been 9th, 7th, 8th, and 7th. If we work with Fox & Krystal, maybe it could help us stay in the front more often and maybe even help us win some legs for a change."
"Before this race started, Zelda and I viewed ourselves perfectly capable for this game, and we really thought we didn't need any help from anybody. Then, after that, the first four legs happened, and all our so-called capabilities almost immediately went out the window," said Link. "So, now that we're sadly having to accept this, we're going to have to just suck it up, and accept help from Fox & Krystal if we truly want to go all the way to the end. From now on, to heck with ethics, I'm willing to take whatever I can get."
END:
"So, what do you think, Zelda? You up for it?" Link asked.
"Oh, definitely," said Zelda, enthusiastically. "Absolutely. Yes."
"Alright then, it's settled."
After that, Fox & Krystal, Link & Zelda, Kirby & Jigglypuff, and Peach & Daisy had arrived at the front desk for S.E.A.S. Bowser & Bowser Jr. and P.T. & Lucario were already there, waiting on a bench. It was only going to be a few more minutes before it opened.
"So, Link, Zelda. Are you two going to join our alliance?" Krystal asked.
"Absolutely," said Zelda, smiling.
"We're in," Link concluded.
"Alright, excellent!" said Fox happily while giving Link a high five.
After that, Fox & Krystal went to go get a spot first in line behind the closed desk right before it opened, which left Bowser extremely ticked off since he wanted to be first in line. Once the desk opened, Fox talked to the man that sat down at his chair to turn on the computer.
"Hi, sir. You guys have a flight that leaves for Kanto in three hours. Does this flight have the earliest arrival?"
"Hold on sir," the man said, "the computer is still turning itself on. I'll check on it in a bit as soon as it opens up."
"Thank you, sir."
Meanwhile, Mario & Luigi and Ness & Lucas had finished eating at the snack bar. They were shown walking over the front desk at S.E.A.S. not long after it had opened, but when they had arrived, the area had already become crowded. There was a long line of people waiting behind the front desk.
"Oh no!" said Ness, shocked.
"Mama Mia!" said Mario. This had become a disaster.
"Ah man," said Lucas. "There's no way we're going to get tickets on that flight now. How could we have been so stupid to wait until the last minute?"
"Let's-a just get a spot in line anyways," said Luigi. "We might-a still get seats somehow."
As both of those teams got in the back of the line, the man behind the front desk was now typing in the flight arrangements for Kanto in his keyboard now that the computer was turned on. "Okay, now, this flight doesn't go directly to Kanto, but it does have connections," he said. "Some will get there earlier than others."
"Do any of those earlier connecting flights get there before the direct flight at Power Star airlines?" Fox asked.
"I'll check and see." The man looked further into it. "Alright, there is one flight that arrives thirty minutes earlier than the Power Star airlines flight. Seats may be limited though, so you'll have to book it before you get to the next space colony."
"That's perfectly okay with us," said Fox. "We'll take it."
"Yes, we've got plenty of experience with this," said Krystal.
"Alright, I'll put your names in and get you registered."
"Could you also put in Link and Zelda's names as well?" Krystal asked, pointing to them. "They're standing behind us."
Link & Zelda waved at the man to show him who they were.
"Okay, sure," the man said. "I can do that."
While the tickets for both teams were being made, Daisy walked up to the man behind the desk to ask him something. "Excuse me, Mister. Did you say this flight doesn't go to Kanto directly?" she asked.
"Yes, ma'am."
"And you also said only one of those connecting flights will get there first, meaning the others will be arriving later?" Daisy added.
"Yes. Also, the seats may be limited for that flight."
Peach thought about the other tickets that they had booked earlier before turning to her partner. "I don't know Daisy, I mean, taking this flight from S.E.A.S. sounds too risky. He said the other connecting flights will be arriving later than the flight from Power Star Airlines. We could get screwed over if we're not smart with this."
"Yeah, good point," Daisy agreed.
"What's going on?" asked Kirby, who was standing behind them with Jigglypuff.
The two princesses told them everything that the man said.
"What do you think, Jigglypuff," Kirby asked her.
"I don't like it, Kirby," said Jigglypuff, who didn't like the idea of taking risks. "Maybe we should just take the tickets that we've already booked for Power Star Airlines. We won't end up in last place if we do; It's better to be safe than sorry."
"You know what, you're right, Jigglypuff," he agreed..
"Definitely," said Peach. "Let's just forget about it and take the tickets we've already booked."
With that being said, both teams agreed full heartedly not to take the S.E.A.S. flight and left to obtain their tickets from the front desk at Power Star airlines.
Meanwhile, Fox & Krystal were still in line behind the front desk waiting for their tickets to develop when Krystal saw Mario & Luigi further back behind the long line of people.
"Hey, Link, didn't you both and Mario & Luigi go and book your own plane tickets from Power Star Airlines?" said Krystal.
"No, we didn't get to," said Link. "We had just arrived at the space colony once we met up with you guys."
"Really?!" said Krystal, shocked. "But then that means Mario & Luigi could be in trouble. If this flight runs out of seats by the time they get to the front of the line, there's no telling if Power Star Airlines will have any seats left available as well!"
"Oh no!" said Zelda.
Cue to Mario & Luigi waiting at the back of the line, who had no idea that they were potentially doomed.
…
"Mario & Luigi could be in trouble," said Krystal. "There's no telling if Power Star Airlines will have any seats left available or not!"
"And after everything they've been through in the previous leg," said Zelda.
"Man, and we think 'we' have it rough," said Link. "Those two seem to always have bad luck."
"Not if I can help it," said Fox, who then turned back over to the man. "Hey sir, we have another team with us. Their names are Mario and Luigi. Could you go ahead and put their names on this flight as well?"
"Sure, I can arrange that."
"Hey, wait a minute! You can't do that!" said Bowser, who nearly ran over Lucario while going to demand an explanation.
"Hey, watch it!" said Lucario.
"Just who do you think you are, buster!" Bowser yelled at Fox's face. "Why are you buying tickets for other teams when they should be doing it themselves, you little fur ball?!"
"Because we can, you big jerk!" said Krystal, scolding him for yelling at her boyfriend.
"No, you can't! That's cheating!"
"Hey!" said Link, who was now getting angry. "Don't you even try to go there! Not after the stunt you pulled at the Gorman Racetrack back in Termina!"
"Yeah!" said Zelda. "Besides, there's nothing in the rules that says anything about buying tickets for other teams, you idiot!"
"You shut your fat mouth!" said Bowser, rudely.
"SAY THAT AGAIN?!" Zelda was now incredibly furious.
"Oh my gosh, this is ridiculous," said P.T., shaking his head.
"Guys, please calm down," said the man behind the desk. "There's still plenty of seats available for everyone, so please don't make a scene."
"Humph! Fine, whatever." said Bowser.
"Fine," said both Zelda and Krystal. Link and Fox just continued to glare at Bowser menacingly.
Pretty soon, the tickets had finished developing. The man took them out of the machine and put them all on the desk. "Alright, I have tickets ready for Fox, Krystal, Link, Zelda, Mario, and Luigi."
"Thank you, sir," said Fox, grabbing some of the tickets while Krystal grabbed the rest.
FOX & KRYSTAL, LINK & ZELDA, and MARIO & LUIGI: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams on the S.E.A.S. flight (departing one hour before the Power Star Airlines flight)
While everyone was obtaining their tickets, Bowser & Bowser Jr. went up to the front desk to ask for tickets of their own.
"I'll have two seats for my son and myself on this flight," said Bowser.
"Yes, sir," said the man, typing in their names.
"We'd like a spot on this flight too, sir," said P.T., to which the man agreed. Lucario, however, wasn't feeling too keen about taking this flight, what with all the risks behind it.
Fox & Krystal, meanwhile, went over to Mario & Luigi, who were still waiting in the back of the line with Ness & Lucas.
"Mario, Luigi!" Krystal called out to the them. "Come on over here. We bought tickets for you guys!"
"Say what?" said Mario.
"We've got you guys covered," said Fox, holding up their tickets for them to see. "You don't have to wait in line anymore."
"You did? You mean, we're on this-a flight!?" said Luigi, who couldn't believe it.
"Yippee!" said Mario.
"What?! Are you kidding me?!" said Ness, bewildered.
"But what about us?" said Lucas. "Didn't y'all get tickets for us?" It was right when Lucas had said this that the moment suddenly became awkward.
"Sorry, Lucas," said Fox. "We didn't get any tickets for you guys."
"…Ugh! Really?!" said Lucas, upset.
"Oh, come on!" said Ness. He was now very annoyed.
"It's not that we didn't want to, Ness," said Krystal, trying to reassure him. "It's just that we didn't see you in the back of the line like how we saw Mario & Luigi."
"Yeah right," Ness said, not convinced. He thought this was cheating.
"Hey, come on now. Don't worry about it," said Fox, trying to reassure him. "The guy at the front desk said there should still be plenty of tickets left on that flight."
"Yeah, but …still," said Lucas, who felt they were being singled out due to favoritism of Mario & Luigi when he thought they were all friends.
"Just forget about it, Lucas," said Ness. "Let's just keep waiting in line and see if they still have tickets. If they don't, we'll still use the tickets that we booked from Power Star Airlines."
At that moment, Bowser & Bowser Jr.'s and P.T. & Lucario's tickets had finished developing.
"Alright now, I have four tickets ready for Bowser, Bowser Jr., Pokémon Trainer, and Lucario," said the man behind the counter.
BOWSER & BOWSER JR. and POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: 4th and 5th teams on the S.E.A.S. flight (departing one hour before the Power Star Airlines flight)
"That's what I like to hear," said Bowser, grabbing their tickets.
"Thank you very much, sir," said P.T.
Ness & Lucas continued waiting anxiously in line to see if they could somehow get tickets. Meanwhile, Peach & Daisy and Kirby & Jigglypuff returned to the lady behind the front desk over at Power Star Airlines to receive the tickets they had booked earlier. Luckily for them, there were no lines here since the S.E.A.S. flight seemed like a better deal to people right now.
"Hi there," said Peach. "We're going to take this flight, so we'd like to get the tickets we booked please."
"Absolutely," said the woman behind the counter. "What are your name's again?"
"Peach & Daisy, ma'am," said Peach.
"We'd also like to go on this flight, please," said Kirby.
"Our names are Kirby & Jigglypuff," Jigglypuff added.
"Sure, I'll be right with you."
After typing their names into the system, it was only a little while longer before both teams' tickets were ready.
"Alright now, I have tickets for this flight for Peach, Daisy, Kirby, and Jigglypuff. Your flight will be leaving in just a few hours."
PEACH & DAISY and KIRBY & JIGGLYPUFF: 1st and 2nd teams on the Power Star Airlines Flight (departing one hour after the S.E.A.S. flight)
"Thank you, ma'am," said Kirby, while he obtained his and Jigglypuff's tickets.
"We're going to the Pokémon world everybody!" said Peach, while joyfully holding up her ticket.
"Yay!" said Jigglypuff excitedly.
Meanwhile, after waiting in line for a while longer, Ness & Lucas finally got to the front desk at S.E.A.S. to see if there were any tickets left available.
"Hey, sir, are there any seats left on this flight?" Ness asked the man behind the counter.
"I'm so sorry, kids, but the last group of people just got the last set of tickets for this flight."
Ness could barely breathe. "…What!?" said Ness.
"You mean all the seats are gone?" said Lucas, downtrodden.
Ness didn't want to give up just yet. "Isn't there anything you can do? Like, say if someone missed this flight by any chance and now they can't make it? He, he…"
"I'll look into it and see what I can do," said the man.
As the man continued typing in his keyboard, Ness thought back to what happened earlier. "Why would Fox & Krystal buy tickets for Mario & Luigi? It doesn't make any sense."
"Yeah, totally," said Lucas. "Something seems awfully fishy about that."
Soon, the man was finished typing. "Okay, we've put the tickets on stand-by, but there's no guarantee you guys are going to make it," said the man behind the counter.
"So, you're saying all we have to do now is just hope that some miracle will happen?" said Ness in disbelief. "What good is that going to do?"
"Let's just go, Ness," said Lucas, getting impatient. "I'm tired of wasting time."
As Ness & Lucas now headed over to the front desk at Power Star Airlines, some of the teams that made it onto the S.E.A.S. flight were sitting on a bench near their flight's gate entrance after going through security. They were talking amongst themselves.
"Ness & Lucas are very upset," said Krystal to Zelda.
"Yeah, they seem to always get like that whenever they feel like they're being wronged in this game."
"That-a reminds me," said Mario. "Why-a did you guys buy tickets for us and not them?"
"Well," Fox began. "We just felt bad that y'all ended up at the back of that long line while not having any plane tickets of your own. There was just no telling if there were going to be any tickets left from anywhere around here."
"I do have to admit, that was very nice of you guys. Thanks," said Luigi, causing Fox to smile and give him the thumbs up.
"But why not-a also give Ness & Lucas tickets since they were in the back of the line too-a?" Mario brought up again.
"I'm guessing it was simply because they had already booked tickets of their own from another flight," said Link. "Am I right, Fox?"
"Right," Fox replied. "Plus, I know they're strong enough to catch up anyways since they've done that plenty of times. Oh, by the way, Mario, I just remembered something. Krystal and I have formed an alliance with Link & Zelda. How would you and Luigi like to join us?"
"Who, us?" said Luigi, feeling rather surprised by their continuous generosity.
"Why not?" said Krystal, smiling. "It'll be fun."
"Yeah, totally," Link agreed. "The more the merrier. So, what do you guys say? Are you in?"
CONFESSIONAL:
FOX & KRYSTAL: Dating
"I also really wanted Mario & Luigi to be a part of our alliance," said Fox, "and no offense to them, really, but we also consider them a weak team that we can easily beat in the final three. The reason why I view them as such is because they seem to be too nice for their own good, and they're not all that aggressive, thus, resulting into them running into bad luck a lot of the time."
"But It also doesn't hurt that they're very popular as well," Krystal added. "So, now that we've gotten Link & Zelda and Mario & Luigi to agree to work with us, I think it's safe to say that we've already built up our final three alliance."
MARIO & LUIGI: Brothers/Plumbers
"I just couldn't believe our luck-a," said Luigi. "I never would've imagined that a team like-a Fox & Krystal would want us to work with them. I couldn't have-a been more thrilled."
"Fox & Krystal are just the best kind of-a people in existence to give us such an offer," said Mario. "I just-a love them to death."
END:
"Sure, we'd love to join your alliance," said Mario, who was now beaming with excitement.
"Absolutely," Luigi agreed wholeheartedly as he knew they were going to need all the help they could get at this point.
"Alright!" said Link, giving the Mario Bros each a high five. "That's what I'm talking about!"
"Here's to a successful win," said Krystal, beckoning everyone to put their hands together for a team cheer.
"And-a to getting into the Final Three together," Mario added.
"Definitely," Zelda chimed in.
3, 2, 1…
"FINAL THREE!" all six of them cheered.
At that moment, Ness & Lucas were at the counter at Power Star Airlines getting their tickets.
"We'd like to have our tickets that we booked earlier, please," said Ness to the woman behind the counter.
"Sure, I'll be right with you." Before they knew it, their tickets were developed and ready to go. "There you both go. You're all set for the Kanto region."
"Thanks!" Ness and Lucas both said simultaneously.
NESS & LUCAS: Last team on the Power Star Airlines flight (leaving one hour after the S.E.A.S. flight)
Not long after that, the five teams that had gotten seats on the S.E.A.S. flight were now getting onboard the ship now that it was preparing to leave. As the racers were buckling their seatbelts, some of them were feeling rather anxious over what was to come, Zelda especially since she didn't like the fact that they now had to do more space travel.
Zelda was shown blowing in and out of her paper bag again while Link tried to comfort her once more. "We'll be getting there soon, Zelda. You'll survive, just you did last time."
"…barely," Zelda exaggerated before going back to her paper bag.
"I sure hope we can make it onto one of the earlier connecting flights," said P.T. "Otherwise, we could be screwed."
"Well, whatever happens, we'll be alright, Master," said Lucario. "Let's not forget, this is the Pokémon world we'll be heading to. That means we're going to be the one's having the leg advantage this time around."
"Oh yeah, you're right!" said P.T., who was just now realizing this. "Yes!"
After that, the space ship had taken off and went into outer space.
S.E.A.S. flight: Now departing
Later, Peach & Daisy, Kirby & Jigglypuff, and Ness & Lucas were shown waiting in line near the gate of their flight. They were preparing to leave now that it was only a matter of time before their ship would take off.
"This is going be awesome!" said Jigglypuff, extatically. "I can't wait to go back to Kanto!"
"I can't wait to see all the little Pokémon running around in the fields!" said Peach, dreaming of them. "They're just so cute!"
"I sure hope we can be able to catch up to the leading teams," said Lucas, feeling as though they were on the slower flight.
"We will," said Ness, now feeling determined. "We always do."
Once all three teams had gotten onboard, the spaceship had left the space colony and was now on its direct voyage to the Kanto region of the Pokémon world.
POWER STAR AIRLINES flight: Now departing
TOAD'S NARRATION:
"All eight remaining teams are now traveling their way through outer space to the Kanto Region of the Pokémon world," said Toad. "The three teams that are on the direct flight to Kanto consist of Peach & Daisy, Kirby & Jigglypuff, and Ness & Lucas. The five other teams that are having to go through connections to get to Kanto consist of Fox & Krystal, Link & Zelda, Bowser & Bowser Jr., Pokémon Trainer & Lucario, and Mario & Luigi. Because of this, these five teams are now going to have fly to another space colony somewhere in the Pokémon galaxy where there are going to be three connecting flights available. Once there, teams are going to have to race against each other for a spot on the earliest connecting flight they can obtain. How will all of this affect every team's position in the race, and which of these teams will be the first ones to arrive in Kanto?"
END:
After a substantial amount of space travel, the space ship from S.E.A.S. had arrived at the Pokémon galaxy. After arriving in the docking bay of the space colony, the five teams that were onboard were all frantically getting off and began running like crazy hoping for a spot on the earliest connecting flight. Zelda, who was still feeling space-sick, was already lagging behind.
"Come on, Zelda, you got to run faster!" said Link, who was running right beside her.
"J-Just let me b-breathe," she said.
"Come on, you pathetic slow poke!" Bowser yelled back at his son. "We have to get on that earlier flight!"
"Don't call me a pathetic slow poke, you big jerk!" said Bowser Jr., who was running as fast as he could. Bowser only proceeded to antagonize him as they continued running.
"Gotta catch that flight!" said P.T.
"We can make it, Master!" said Lucario.
As the teams continued running, Mario & Luigi were starting to fall behind as well.
"Mama-Mia!" cried Mario. "We're-a losing these people!"
"Must-a run faster! Must-a run faster! Must-a run faster!" said Luigi.
As for Fox & Krystal, they were leading ahead of the other teams as they ran. P.T. & Lucario were right behind their tails.
"We're in the lead, Krystal!" said Fox, excitedly. "We're going to make it!"
Sure enough, Fox was right as they were the first ones to arrive at the front desk.
"Aw man, they beat us again!" said P.T., feeling disappointed.
"Curse them!" said Bowser. "Those furry mongrels are just too dang fast!" Bowser complained while he and his son began to catch their breath.
One by one, all four teams got in line behind Fox & Krystal.
"Hello, sir," Fox said to the man behind the counter. "We'd like to arrange to get onboard one of your connecting flights to the Kanto region. The earliest one hasn't left yet, has it?"
"Nope, you're just in time," he said, looking at the computer. "In fact, that flight doesn't leave for another thirty minutes."
"What time will it arrive?"
"And how long before the Power Star Airlines flight?" Krystal added.
The man continued typing everything in. "It will be arriving at two o'clock in the afternoon, which means you will be fifteen minutes ahead."
"Wonderful, that's perfect," said Fox. "That'll be two seats for Fox and Krystal please."
"Sure, no problem," said the man, typing their names into the keyboard.
"So, how many seats are left now?" Krystal asked.
"As of now, y'all two just took the last two seats," the man concluded while looking at the computer.
"Say what now?" said Mario in disbelief over what he had just heard. In fact, this left everyone stunned.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Bowser yelled after overhearing him. Now he really felt like he was being totally duped.
"You have GOT to be kidding me," said Zelda. "There's really no more seats left?"
"Ah man, Fox & Krystal are just so dang lucky," P.T. complained.
"Oh, dear," said Krystal, who was now beginning to feel guilty for she wanted to get tickets for their entire alliance. "Fox, maybe we should have bought the tickets for either Link & Zelda or Mario & Luigi instead. They're the ones who needed them the most."
Fox didn't know what to say about this.
"Hey, don't-a worry about it," said Mario. "Y'all earned them fair and square since you beat us."
"Are you sure?" said Fox.
"Yeah," Link agreed. "You guys go ahead and keep them. They're yours." With that being said, Fox & Krystal reluctantly accepted the tickets.
FOX & KRYSTAL: Taking the earliest connecting flight (scheduled to arrive 15 minutes before the Power Stars flight)
"Forget this!" said Bowser Jr., feeling frustrated. "Let's go see what the other flights have to offer."
Link sighed. "Guess we're on our own again, Zel."
"Hey, hold up there," said Fox. "Our flight doesn't leave for over half an hour. We'll still help you guys get the next best tickets while we still can."
"Oh, thank you," said Zelda, who really appreciated it.
Once Fox & Krystal's tickets were developed, they went with their fellow alliance members to help them find another good connection. Pokémon Trainer, however, wasn't willing to give up that easily. He just HAD to get on this first flight.
"Sir, I just really need you to clarify, are you positively sure that there are no more seats available?" he asked.
"I am positively sure of that, sir."
"Well, can't you at least double check?" he begged him. "Isn't there anything for us on that flight? Anything at all? Anything? Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please PLEEEEEEEEEASE?!"
Lucario sweat dropped while shaking his head at the sight of his master's weird behavior.
The man sighed. "Okay, okay, I'll look into it and see what can be done." He then started typing into the keyboard again; whatever it took to get this annoying kid off his back.
"Yes!" said P.T., feeling pleased with himself. "I knew I could get through to him."
At that moment, Bowser was trying to get him and his son to cut in line behind one of the other counters.
"Move it!" he said.
"Hey, don't cut in front of me!" said a blue Yoshi that Bowser tried to cut in front of.
"Back of the line, buster!" said a traveling wrestler from Street Fighter.
"Fat chance!" said Bowser Jr. "We're staying here!"
But none of the people in line were having it. Eventually, it caused quite a stir that a security guard had to come over and force Bowser & Bowser Jr. to go the back of the line like everyone else.
"Screw this!" said Bowser, who stomped to the back with Bowser Jr.
"You people suck!" yelled Bowser Jr. to the people waiting in line.
Later, the two koopas were shown waiting a few yards back behind Mario & Luigi and the others. Once it was their turn, Mario, Link, and Fox went to ask the woman behind the counter some questions about the flight.
"Okay, this is the second earliest connecting flight to Kanto," she said while typing in her computer. "…and according to the data base, it's going to be arriving in Kanto at 2:45 in the afternoon." This would be thirty minutes after the Power Stars flight.
"Aw man," said Link, who was really hoping that the flight could arrive at least around the same time.
"Great. We're being screwed over, here," Zelda complained. "Why am I not surprised."
"We'll take it anyways," said Mario for it was the next best offer after all.
"Alright, that'll be four tickets for Mario & Luigi and Link & Zelda then," said Fox.
"Okay," she said before typing their names into the system to develop their tickets.
"But now this means we're going to be back in last place again," Zelda complained, feeling greatly annoyed. "Just great! This game is stupid!"
"Well, I guess that's just how it goes," said Link. "Though I am glad we made a big move and tried to get on that earlier flight. That shows we really can be competitors."
"You are way too positive, Link," said Zelda. She was so sick and tired of not getting her way.
"Well, since there are only going to be four teams ahead of us-a," said Mario, "technically we're-a also in the middle of the pack… in a way…I think."
Zelda just rolled her eyes.
Not long after, Bowser & Bowser Jr. were eventually able to receive the last two seats on that same flight as Link & Zelda and Mario & Luigi.
"Well, I'm just glad we're not taking the much later connecting flight, I guess," said Bowser Jr.
"Oh, shut it, Junior," said Bowser. He was now in a very bad mood.
"Stop calling me Junior already!"
MARIO & LUIGI, LINK & ZELDA, and BOWSER & BOWSER JR.: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams taking the second connecting flight (scheduled to arrive thirty minutes after the Power Stars Flight)
It was now time for Fox & Krystal to leave now that it was almost time for their ship to take off.
"Good luck, guys," said Fox, wishing his fellow alliance members the best of luck before leaving for their ship's gate.
"I hope you guys will be able to catch up after all this," said Krystal, feeling bad about it.
"Don't-a worry about us, you just have fun-a," said Luigi.
"Y'all just worry about you," said Link.
Fox & Krystal agreed.
Later, while Fox & Krystal were getting on board their ship, the other teams were waiting for their gate to open when Zelda suddenly realized something. "Hey, wait a minute! Where are Pokémon Trainer & Lucario?"
"I don't-a know," said Luigi, who had completely forgotten all about them. As did everyone else. "I didn't see them in line when we were getting our tickets."
"Then that could only mean they're on the third connecting flight that arrives much later than ours," said Bowser, butting in on their conversation. "That means they're the ones in last place and not us. Ha, ha, ha!"
For once, the other teams actually agreed with the evil koopa. Zelda gave off a relieving sigh. "Well, that's encouraging."
Speaking of P.T. & Lucario…
"I sure am glad we were able to get tickets for this flight," said Lucario, who couldn't believe they were able to get on the same flight as Fox & Krystal, despite what the man said otherwise.
"Yeah, I know," said P.T., feeling proud of himself. "Am I brilliant or what?"
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Last team on the first connecting flight (scheduled to arrive fifteen minutes before the Power Stars flight)
P.T. & Lucario were the last ones to go through the gate before the pilots closed the doors. Not long after that, the ship began to take off into outer space and made its way to Kanto. Just how did P.T. & Lucario manage to get on that flight?
1st then 2nd Connecting Flights: Departing Now
…
After many hours of continuous space travel, the teams had officially reached the Pokémon World.
1st Connecting Flight from S.E.A.S.: Now Arriving, 2:00 pm
The space ship that Fox & Krystal and P.T. & Lucario were on was now transforming itself into an airplane now that it had entered the planet's atmosphere. Pretty soon, the transformed plane had arrived and was now landing at the Kanto International Airport. Once the pilot opened the doors, Fox & Krystal were quickly squeezing in between passengers while P.T. & Lucario quickly ran out of the plane. They were now leaving the gate.
"Come on, Lucario!" said P.T. while running furiously.
Soon after, Fox & Krystal and caught up and found the two running ahead of them.
"Wait a minute." Fox felt stupefied once he saw P.T. & Lucario. "What the heck?"
"Where did those two come from?" said Krystal, who could not believe her eyes.
CONFESSIONAL:
FOX & KRYSTAL: Dating
"I was shocked once I saw Pokémon Trainer & Lucario," said Fox. "I had no clue how they got on the same flight as us when we thought we were the only ones on."
"Yeah," said Krystal. "I was very surprised to see them."
END:
"Where do we go to get a taxi?" said P.T.
"This way," said Fox, reading the signs. P.T. & Lucario followed them.
The two teams exited the airport, ran outside to the taxi freeway, and immediately started calling for a ride.
"Taxi!" called out Krystal while Fox whistled. P.T. did the same thing for him and Lucario.
After a few minutes of doing this, one yellow taxi pulled up for P.T. & Lucario.
"You can't be serious," said Fox, feeling irritated.
As Lucario put their bags in the trunk, Lucario gave the taxi instructions. "We need to get to Pallet Town as fast as possible!" Pallet Town was where all the teams were instructed to go.
"No problem, kid," he said. "I'll get you guys there."
As P.T. & Lucario drove away in their taxi, another one managed to pull up for Fox & Krystal.
"We need to get to Pallet Town fast!" said Krystal as Fox put their bags in the trunk.
"Will do, ma'am," said the taxi driver.
After that, both vulpine drove away in their taxi. Both teams were now riding their way through the green luscious fields of the Kanto region as they made their way to Pallet Town.
"Yes!" cried P.T. "We're back in it! We're in first place again!"
"Let's just hope nothing can stop us from keeping our lead," said Lucario.
Meanwhile…
"So once we get there, we have to find Professor Oak's laboratory. Am I right," asked Fox.
"Right, that's what the clue says," said Krystal.
"Man, I still can't believe P.T. & Lucario somehow got ahead of us."
"Right," said Krystal, remembering there were no more seats available at the time. "I don't know how in Lylat's name those two managed to get on that flight."
Not long after that, the Power Star Airlines flight was now arriving in the atmosphere. Just like before, the ship transformed itself into a plane and landed in the airfield.
Power Star Airlines Flight: Now arriving, 2:15 pm
Once the flight had landed, the doors began opening, and the three teams that were on that flight were furiously hurrying their way out.
"Come on, Kirby!" Jigglypuff cried as she was the first one off the plane.
"Let's go, Lucas!" cried Ness.
"This way, Daisy!" cried Peach.
Just like the two teams ahead of them, the three now-arriving teams went outside to the taxi freeway to start calling for Taxi's. Kirby & Jigglypuff got to be the first ones to get a ride.
"Could you take us to a place called Pallet Town?" Kirby asked the female taxi driver.
"Sure! I'll be able to get you two cuties there in no time!"
As Kirby & Jigglypuff drove away, Ness & Lucas managed to get a taxi of their own.
"Darn it!" said Daisy, bewildered. "How did Ness & Lucas get a taxi before us?"
"Could you get us to Pallet Town as quickly as possible?" Lucas asked the taxi driver.
"Sure, kid."
"So, we have to find a man called Professor Oak?" said Lucas.
"Yeah," said Ness. "He's the one who'll give us our next clue."
Peach & Daisy, however, continued struggling to get a taxi.
Meanwhile, after driving several miles, P.T. & Lucario managed to arrive in Pallet Town first. Both teams asked their driver to drop them off at professor oak's laboratory.
"Yeah, that's it," said P.T., who recognized the look of it from photos he'd seen in guide books.
"Thanks very much for the ride, sir," said Lucario, paying the man their fee.
P.T. & Lucario then got out of the taxi, got their bags out of the trunk, and let their taxi driver leave as they ran up the flight of stairs leading up to Professor Oak's Laboratory. After entering inside, they began looking all around the inside of Professor Oak's house while calling out his name. They then went upstairs to see if he was doing his research up there, and sure enough, that's just where he was at.
"Ah!" said Professor Oak. "There you are."
"Hey! You're Professor Oak!" said P.T., shaking his hand. "I've heard a lot about you growing up."
"Why thank you, young man. I've heard a lot about you as well," he said.
"No kidding!" said P.T., who couldn't believe his ears.
"Why of course I'm not kidding. How could I forget your exemplary performance at the Pokémon Johto Silver League Conference? Oh, by the way, I've got something for you two." Professor Oak dug deep in his pocket for something he was instructed to give them. While P.T. & Lucario were expecting their next clue, Professor Oak had brought out… "Ta daaaa! A Pokémon ball!"
? Question marks were forming over P.T. & Lucario's heads.
"… say what?" said Lucario, completely confused.
"You're… giving us a pokéball?" P.T. added, sweat dropping.
"It's what's inside the poke ball that contains what you are looking for," said the professor.
"Uh…Okay?" said Lucario.
"Ha! I know just what to do with this," said P.T., grinning. He then got himself into position and yelled out… "NOW, GO POKEBALL!"
P.T. pressed the button on the red and white sphere, and then threw it up into the air. Suddenly, the pokéball opened up and suddenly, out came their next clue.
"Alright!" said P.T.
"Now that's what I like to see," said Lucario, who then got a hold of their clue, ripped it open, and read it.
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Currently in 1st Place
"It's a Detour, Master," he said, reading a yellow slip.
TOAD'S NARRATION:
"A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons," said Toad. "In this Detour, teams will have to choose between either a chore or daily activity that the residents here in Pallet Town are often seen doing. They'll have to choose between Biking or Gardening. In Biking, teams have to go outside the laboratory where they must put on helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads, and then pick a matching colored pair of bicycles of their choice. They must then ride three laps counterclockwise around the entire perimeter of Pallet town, which is a very big town. The task appears simple enough, plus there's no time limit; however, this task comes with a twist. For every lap teams ride around Pallet town, there will be large groups of starter Pokémon that will be using their powers and abilities to try and slow the teams down. For example, a group of Squirtle will be using Hydro Pump to squirt water at the teams, causing the teams to get wet and the dirt roads to get muddy. It'll be a scary task, and teams are bound to wind up filthy, but should teams persevere and complete all three laps, Tracey Sketchit will give teams their next clue. Also, since the task will be set up next to Professor Oak's laboratory, teams can start the task immediately. In Gardening, teams will be instructed to do some heavy garden work. They must first navigate the streets of Pallet Town and find the Ketchum Residence, home of the famous Pokémon trainer, Ash Ketchum. Once there, teams must enter the front yard and find Ash's mother, Delia Ketchum, along with her Pokémon companion, Mr. Mime. Teams will be given a shopping list, as well as a wheel barrow, which they must then take with them while finding the Xanadu Nursery, which is only a block away. Once teams find the nursery, they then must use their own race money to buy three items: three large bags of fertilizer, 2 medium sized bags of corn seeds, and one small bag of sugar cubes. Once teams have bought all their items, teams must bring them all back to the Ketchum residence in their wheel barrow before being instructed to plow one long straight line in the field by using one of Ash's thirty Tauros while using the sugar cubes to guide them. If the line isn't straight enough, they'll have to go back and start over. If it passes inspection, teams can plant their corn seeds into the line that they plowed, and must then cover them up with all the fertilizer that they bought. Once Mr. Mime approves of their work, Delia will give teams their next clue. It's a much less scary task, though it can also take quite a while to finish, but if teams work smart enough, they can finish the task with ease."
END:
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Currently in 1st Place
"Detour: Biking or Gardening," Lucario read.
"I don't want to do the gardening task," said P.T. "That's too much work."
"Okay, we'll go bike riding then," Lucario decided.
Meanwhile, Fox & Krystal became the next team to arrive as their taxi driver pulled up in front of the laboratory.
"Could you wait here for us? Just for a little while?" asked Fox, just in case they might need to get back in later.
"Sure thing, sir," said the taxi driver.
"Thank you," said Krystal, paying their fee.
As the two vulpine ran up the stairs, P.T. & Lucario were coming out of the laboratory.
"Hey, where can we find the professor?" Krystal asked them. So naturally, P.T. & Lucario chose not to reveal any information, and walked passed them. This annoyed Krystal. "…Well!"
"Gee, I wonder what 'their' problem is," said Fox, unsurprised before continuing their search inside. After going up the second floor, they too found Professor Oak.
"Hi there!" said the professor, smiling. "Welcome to my laboratory."
"Nice to meet you, sir," said Fox, shaking his hand.
"I've got something for you two." He then showed them their pokéball. "Ta daaaa!"
? Fox & Krystal got confused by this too.
"Uh…?" said Fox.
"…What's this?" said Krystal.
Professor Oak couldn't help but laugh as he handed it to them. "Why, it's your next clue of course. You just have to open up this pokéball to receive it."
"But how do we do that?" said Fox, while holding the Pokéball. He had never used one before.
"It's very simple. Just push down on the button like so, throw it up into the air, and yell GO POKEBALL!"
Fox & Krystal looked at each other silently before Fox decided to give it a try.
"Well, here goes. GO POKEBALL!" He yelled, and then out came their next clue.
"I got it!" Krystal got a hold of their clue and ripped it open.
FOX & KRYSTAL: Currently in 2nd Place
"Detour: Biking or Gardening," said Krystal before she continued reading.
"I think it's best that we go biking, Krystal," said Fox once she was finished reading. "What do you think?
"I agree."
At that moment, P.T. & Lucario had found Tracey Sketchit, who was shown sitting on a tree stump while sketching an Arcanine and a Growlith in his sketchbook outside the laboratory. Suddenly, Tracey looked up to see who was arriving. "Hi there!" he said. "Welcome to Pallet Town."
"Thanks," said P.T. as he and Lucario found the area where all of the bikes and protective knee pads and shoulder pads were, "so which one's ours?"
"It doesn't matter," said Tracey. "You can pick whichever you like."
"Let's get these on quick, master," said Lucario before Fox & Krystal arrived as well.
Back at the airport, Peach & Daisy finally managed to obtain a taxi for themselves.
"We need to get to Pallet Town fast!" said Daisy.
"Sure thing ma'am," said the taxi driver.
As the two princesses began making their way to Pallet Town, Kirby & Jigglypuff and Ness & Lucas were now arriving in front of Professor Oak's Laboratory. As both teams were getting out of their taxis (they even had their cab driver stay until they got back) and went inside the laboratory to get their next clue, P.T. & Lucario and Fox & Krystal were now picking out their bicycles. P.T. & Lucario picked the blue bikes while Fox & Krystal picked the green bikes.
'Just when we thought not helping them would keep us in the lead,' P.T. thought to himself.
"You guys ready to ride now?" said Tracey Sketchit.
"Just about," said Fox, who was positioning his bike behind the white starting line. The others did the same.
"Alright then," said Tracey. "When I say go, on the count of three…"
Both teams were now ready to race on their bicycles, feeling confident.
"Let's do this!" said P.T.
"It is so on!" said Krystal.
"3…2…1… GO!" cried Tracey.
Both teams quickly began peddling their bicycles and started racing against each other down the dirt road.
FOX & KRYSTAL: Lap 1
"Here we go!" cried Fox.
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Lap 2
"I'm winning this!" cried P.T.
Fox and P.T. were peddling neck and neck with each other ahead of Krystal and Lucario.
CONFESSIONAL:
POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Best Friends
"I'm extremely competitive," said P.T., "and so far, I view Fox as my racing rival. During the Detour, when it came down to my team verses his team, I just really wanted to beat him."
FOX & KRYSTAL: Dating
"P.T. and I are similar in a lot of ways," said Fox. "We're both very competitive by nature and we really want to win, except unlike P.T., I prefer to play fair."
END:
Meanwhile, Kirby & Jigglypuff and then Ness & Lucas had found Professor Oak, received their pokéballs, opened them, and then received their next clue.
KIRBY & JIGGLYPYFF: Currently in 3rd Place
"Detour…," Kirby read.
NESS & LUCAS: Currently in 4th Place
"Biking or Gardening," Lucas read.
"I say we go bike riding," said Jigglypuff. "Bike riding is more fun."
"I agree," said Kirby.
As for Ness & Lucas…
"I say we do the biking challenge," said Ness.
"Yeah," Lucas agreed. "Gardening is boring."
While Kirby & Jigglypuff and Ness & Lucas went outside to find the bicycles, the scene shifted back to Fox & Krystal and P.T. & Lucario biking around Pallet Town. Fox and P.T. were the first ones to reach the half way point of the first lap, and by then, that's when the REAL fun began.
"Hey look!" P.T. pointed out while peddling. "It's a large group of Bulbasaur!"
"Bulbasaur! Bulba-Bulba!" several of the little guys cried out as they were getting themselves into position. Some of them were smiling mischievously while anticipating what they were about to do.
"Uh oh," said Fox while peddling. "This must be the part where they're about to…"
Suddenly, several of the grass type Pokémon already began using their powers on the oncoming teams. Some Bulbasaur used Razor Leaf and threw a bunch of green leaves at the racers.
"Ow!" said Krystal as she got pelted with shooting green leaves.
"AH! I can't see!" P.T. yelled as tons of green leaves were being thrown at him.
Other Bulbasaur used Vine Whip and used their vines like lassos at the teams. One Bulbasaur did this to Fox by having one of his vines grab hold of his front wheel. This caused his bike to stop, thus knocking Fox off his bike, and have him go flying through the air.
"OOF!" said Fox, falling face-first into the ground. This caused a couple Bulbasaur to laugh and high five each other.
"Hey! That wasn't funny!" Fox yelled before quickly getting back on his bike.
Another Bulbasaur used Vine Whip and kept slapped the living heck out of Lucario.
"Ow! Quit it!" cried Lucario. The whipping vines made him lose control of his bike and swerve out of control.
Eventually, both teams managed to get passed all the Bulbasaur and continued peddling. P.T. & Lucario were now in the lead.
"Man!" said P.T. "I've always known grass type Pokémon to be very powerful, but that was ridiculous!"
Fox & Krystal were shown peddling behind them.
"Whew," said Krystal, "That was crazy."
CONFESSIONAL:

"I hated all those little Bulbasaur at that point," said Fox. "Sure, I also love them since they're great to have around and all, but MAN those little guys are vicious."
"Yeah, I think I got a couple of cuts from all those leaves they kept throwing at us," said Krystal, inspecting her arms.
END:
As The two teams were finishing up their first lap, Kirby & Jigglypuff and Ness & Lucas were putting on their knee pads and elbow pads.
"This is going to be gnarly!" said Lucas, excitedly.
"I just hope we'll be able to reach the peddles," said Jigglypuff.
After that, however, while picking out their bicycles, Kirby & Jigglypuff couldn't find a single bike that was big enough for them to be able to peddle.
"Hey, sir," said Jigglypuff to Tracey Sketchit, "do y'all have any tricycles that Kirby and I can ride?"
"Gee. I'm really sorry, but I'm afraid we don't have any tricycles," said Tracey, feeling bad.
"So, we can't do this task at all? …Great." said Kirby, disappointed.
Jigglypuff sighed. "Oh well. Guess we have no other choice but to do the gardening challenge then," she said before taking off her pads.
As Kirby & Jigglypuff left to go find the Ketchum residence, Ness & Lucas were able to pick out a couple of yellow bikes that were big enough for them to reach the peddles.
"Yeah!" said Lucas. "We've totally got this!"
After P.T. & Lucario and Fox & Krystal peddled passed the finish line to begin lap 2, Tracey Sketchit gave Ness & Lucas the right to begin lap 1.
"3…2…1…GO!" he cried.
"Yeah-hoo!" cried Lucas as he began peddling. He was having fun already.
"We're peddling for a million dollars!" cried Ness.
Meanwhile, Peach & Daisy became the next team to arrive in Pallet Town. They were driving in front of Professor Oak's laboratory.
"Okay, just stop here, sir," said Daisy before getting out.
"Thanks for the lift," said Peach, paying the taxi driver their fee.
After getting their bags out of the trunk, they instructed the man to stay there until they wanted to get back in later. They then went inside and looked around before finding the professor.
"Why, hello there," said Professor Oak, looking up from his research papers.
"Hi," said Peach. "We were wondering if you have our next clue."
"I sure do, young lady," Professor Oak then dug into his pockets and gave them their pokéball.
"Uh…?" said Daisy, confused as she held the little orb in her hand. "is this supposed to be our clue?"
"Wait a minute, no," said Peach, who was suddenly getting the idea. "I think we have to open it first."
"That's right," said Professor Oak before giving them instructions on how to open it.
Peach then grabbed the pokéball out of Daisy's hand. "Let me give that thing a try."
Peach then proceeded to throw the pokéball up in the air. "POKEBALL, GO!" Just like so, their next clue was revealed.
"I got it!" said Daisy excitedly. She then ripped it open and began reading it.
PEACH & DAISY: Currently in 5th Place
"Detour: Biking or Gardening," read Daisy. "Biking, definitely. It'll be a lot quicker that way."
"But we can't go bike riding in our dresses," Peach objected. "If we do, our dresses could get snagged. The wheels will rip them up and they'll get ruined."
Daisy looked down at her yellow dress. "So, what? If we do the gardening task, our dresses are bound to get ruined anyways. You know, with all the dirt and everything. Besides, I hate gardening."
"I don't want to do the gardening task any more than you do, Daisy, but we've already had to throw away two ruined pairs of dresses," Peach pointed out. "The dresses we're wearing now are the only clothes we have left."
This greatly annoyed Daisy. "Ugh! You know, Peach, these dresses are starting to become a liability for us. This is unacceptable."
"Well what other choice do we have?"
CONFESSIONAL:
PEACH & DAISY: Princesses/Best Friends
"Clothes are starting to become an issue for Daisy and I," said Peach. "Before this race began, I never fathomed the idea that several of the tasks and challenges were going to require us to get down and dirty."
"At that point, I seriously did not want to do the gardening task," said Daisy. "I kept insisting that the bike riding challenge would get us done much quicker, but Peach wasn't budging."
END:
"Come on, Peach, you have to be reasonable!" said Daisy. "Bike riding will get us out of here much faster!"
"But gardening will allow us to keep racing with our dresses in tact!" Peach insisting. "Our clothing and cleanliness is more important than anything!"
"Fine," said Daisy, getting frustrated with her. "If that's the way you see it, we'll perform the Detour in our underwear then. Either way, I'm not doing the gardening task, Peach."
"WHAT?!" this shocked Peach. "N-No! That is just… that is so not lady-like… a-and completely unacceptable! We're princesses for crying out loud!"
"So what? I don't care what people will think. Let's just strip down and get this Detour over with."
"No way! I don't want to do the Detour in my underwear!"
"Fine then. I'll do the task in my underwear while you can go and ruin the only dress you have left."
Peach & Daisy continued fighting over clothes while Kirby & Jigglypuff were shown searching for the Ketchum residence. Kirby was the one reading the map while Jigglypuff followed him.
"Are you sure we're going the right way?" said Jigglypuff.
"You're always asking me that, Jigglypuff," said Kirby. "Of course, we're going the right way. See, it says so right here on this map." Kirby showed her.
"Well let's get moving then!" Jigglypuff then ran passed him.
"Hey, wait!" said Kirby, but Jigglypuff was already off and running. "Ugh! Not again!" He then continued to run after her.
Meanwhile, P.T. & Lucario and Fox & Krystal were continuing their second lap.
P.T. & LUCARIO: Lap 2
"Faster, Lucario, faster!" said P.T., peddling as fast as he could. Fox & Krystal were still close behind them.
"I'm going, I'm going," said Lucario, huffing and puffing
FOX & KRYSTAL: Lap 2
"I won't let them get away from us!" said Fox, peddling furiously after P.T. & Lucario.
Krystal was struggling to keep up. "Pant! Pant! …This is starting to tire me out…" said Krystal while peddling.
As for the other team behind them…
NESS & LUCAS: Lap 1
"Woo hoo!" said Lucas while peddling his bicycle. "This is fun."
"Definitely!" said Ness, who was having fun on his bicycle as well.
Suddenly, the teams started spotting more Pokémon up ahead. This time, there was now a large group of Water type Pokémon called Squirtle, and they were waiting on both P.T. & Lucario and Fox & Krystal.
"Uh oh!" said P.T. "There's more!"
"Here we go again!" said Fox.
"Squirtle! Squirtle!" the little Pokémon all yelled.
Once both teams started riding by, all of the Squirtle began using Water Gun by squirting tons of water at them.
"Incoming!" cried Fox as he started getting hit by the water jets. Both teams were getting drenched.
"Ahh!" yelled Krystal as water got flung at her. "Not my hair!"
Other Squirtle were using Hydro Pump, so now there was water being flung in all directions.
"Looks like these Squirtle mean business!" said Lucario as water was being flung at him as well.
Then, some of the Squirtle began to use Bubble Beam, so now there were water bubbles flying all over the place.
"Hey! I can't see where I'm going!" cried Lucario while trying to pop the bubbles in his path. This once again caused him to nearly swerve out of control a few times.
"These Squirtles are crazy!" said Fox.
"Hah!" said P.T. "This is getting fun!" Unfortunately, P.T. started swerving his bike across a mud puddle and lost control. As he fell to the ground, Fox managed to ride right passed him.
"Oh no!" P.T. cried. "I've got to-" Suddenly, more Squirtle continued to squirt water at him. "Hey! Watch it!"
After getting passed all the Squirtle, Fox & Krystal were now in the lead.
"Are you alright back there, Krystal?!" Fox called back to her while peddling.
"I'm alright, Fox!" said a sopping Krystal.
As for Ness & Lucas, it was now 'their' turn to endure all the Bulbasaur that the other two teams had deal with before.
"Ahh! Hey, watch it!" cried Ness as the Bulbasaur began using Vine Whip on him.
"Hey! Cut it out!" cried Lucas as other Bulbasaur were using Leaf Blade on him.
To make matters worse, as leaves and vines were being flung and thrown everywhere, the water that all the Squirtle threw caused the dirt roads to get muddy and slippery.
"Whoa!" cried Lucas, who's bike started slipping as green leaves kept flying all over the place.
Meanwhile, Kirby & Jigglypuff managed to find the Ketchum residence. They found Delia Ketchum tending to her own little vegetable garden with Mr. Mime upon arrival.
"We're here!" Jigglypuff cried out.
"Hi there!" Delia chimed, completely unfazed that she was now in the presence of a talking Jigglypuff. "Welcome to the Ketchum Residence!"
"Mime, Mr. Mime!" said Mr. Mime, waving his hand at them.
"We're here to help you with your garden, ma'am," said Kirby. "We're in a race."
"Wonderful!" said Delia, clapping her hands together in joy. "I've already got the shopping list ready. Here you go." She then handed Jigglypuff the list.
"Okay, we can do this," said Jigglypuff while reading the list.
"Mime, mime, mime!" Mr. Mime was shown rolling a big red wheel barrow towards them.
"And here's the wheel barrow that you'll need to carry all the supplies from the Xanadu Nursery," said Dehlia.
Despite looking at the large size of the wheel barrow, Kirby didn't let it phase him one bit. "Let's do this!" said Kirby, who then jumped up and grabbed hold of the wheelbarrow.
"Do you need any help with that?" Delia asked, feeling concerned.
"I can do it," Kirby insisted.
Kirby used his weight and pulled down on the wheel barrow to get his feet to touch the ground, and sure enough he managed to accomplish this. "I got it!"
"So where is the Xanadu Nursery anyway?" Jigglypuff asked her.
"Just go straight down this path to your left and it's only less than a mile away," said Delia, pointing in that direction.
"Mime, Mr. Mime!" said Mr. Mime.
"Got it," said Kirby, "Let's go, Jigglypuff."
"Right behind you," she said while holding the list in her hands.
Meanwhile, it was finally decided that Peach & Daisy would do the biking task. They had already picked out the purple bikes as they were now standing with them behind the starting line. Tracey Sketchit, on the other hand, looked red in the face as he was now preparing to have the two princesses go bike riding… in their underwear.
"…Are you two ready?" said Tracey.
"We're ready," said Daisy while positioning her red bike. Peach remained silent. She couldn't believe their issue with cloths had brought them to this.
Shortly after, the semi-nude princesses then started bike riding around Pallet Town on the red bikes that they've chosen.
PEACH & DAISY: Lap 1
"We can do this, Peach," said Daisy, peddling her bike.
"I just hope we don't get hurt," said Peach, who was right behind her.
CONFESSIONAL:
PEACH & DAISY: Princesses/Best Friends
"That was just completely embarrassing and degrading for me," said Peach. "I didn't feel comfortable at all exposing myself in my underwear out in the open for everyone to see."
"It didn't bother me at all actually. I didn't even care," said Daisy. "I just really wanted to do the biking task because it was quicker, and I wanted to get it over with fast."
END:
After that, Fox & Krystal and P.T. & Lucario were finishing up their second lap.
FOX & KRYSTAL: Lap 3
"We've got this, Krystal," said Fox, now that they were back in the lead.
P.T. & LUCARIO: Lap 3
"We've got to get ahead of them again, Lucario!" said P.T.
As for Ness & Lucas, they were finishing up their first lap.
NESS & LUCAS: Lap 2
"Only two more to go, Lucas," said Ness.
As the five teams continued to remain busy doing the Detour in Pallet Town, the second connecting flight containing the three-remaining back-pack teams had now finally arrived in Kanto.
2nd Connecting Flight from S.E.A.S.: Now arriving, 2:45 pm
After entering the atmosphere, the space ship transformed itself into an airplane like the two before it, and safely landed in the airfield. After finally arriving at the Kanto International Airport, the pilot opened the door to let the passengers out. Quickly, Link & Zelda, Bowser & Bowser Jr., and Mario & Luigi were scooching passed the passengers hastily, and one by one, got out of the plane.
"Now where do we go?" Link wondered while running through the airport.
"Come on, Junior! Hurry it up already!" Bowser yelled while running hastily.
"Ugh! Enough already!" cried Bowser Jr.
"Looks-a like chaos is already starting," said Mario, while running.
Pretty soon, Bowser & Bowser Jr., Mario & Luigi, and then Link & Zelda (who had gotten a little lost in the airport) had arrived at the taxi freeway. Bowser & Bowser Jr. were the first ones to haul a cab for themselves.
"Yes!" said Bowser, feeling proud of himself. "Now that's more like it."
"You've-a got to be kidding me!" said Luigi, feeling annoyed at those two once again.
"Suck on that, losers!" said Bowser Jr., throwing them a raspberry.
"Those two are just so lame," said Zelda as they drove away.
"Hey, I-a got an idea!" said Mario. "Since we're all in an alliance now, why don't-a we all share a taxi together?"
"I'm up for it," Link agreed. "What about you, Zel?"
"Alright," Zelda decided, "but we're going to have to get a bigger taxi than the one Bowser & Bowser Jr. got if we all want to fit."
"No problemo," said Mario.
As all four of them called out for a big taxi, Bowser & Bowser were shown boasting in their cab while they road to Pallet Town.
"Ha, ha, ha! As usual, we're just too much for those guys!" said Bowser Jr.
"Ha, ha, ha! Yeah! Those four losers will never be good at running this race like us!" said Bowser.
Back in Pallet Town, after walking with their wheel barrow for about a mile, Kirby & Jigglypuff had now arrived at the Xanadu nursery.
"Wow! Look at that!" said Jigglypuff.
The Xanadu Nursery was that of a massive, glass dome structure covered in long green vines. It practically looked more like a greenhouse than a nursery.
"Come on, let's go inside," said Kirby, pushing the wheel barrow toward it. They soon came across the owner of the place, who looked really beautiful and had really long, purple hair.
"Welcome to the Xanadu Nursery. My name is Florinda Showers."
"Gloom, Gloom," said a little plant Pokémon named, Gloom, who was standing behind Florinda.
"Oh yeah, and this is my Pokémon companion, Gloom. Say hi, Gloom."
"Gloom, Gloom, Gloom." It said, waving its hand.
"Lovely to meet you," said Jigglypuff. "We're here to buy some gardening supplies."
"Sure, right this way. You can leave your wheel barrow outside."
"Okay," said Kirby, who then set it down before following them inside the nursury.
As the two puffballs followed Florinda around inside the green house, they were amazed by what they saw. The green house was huge. It was a huge glass dome that had all sorts of plants sprawling all around the place. There were flowers, berry patches, fruit trees, etc. They soon came across a shopping aisle in an area of the greenhouse.
"This is where we keep everything in stock," said Florinda. "Feel free to pick out whatever you need."
"Gloom, Gloom, Gloom."
"Will do," said Kirby.
"The list says we need a bag of sugar cubes," said Jigglypuff. "Do y'all have that here?"
"We sure do," said Florinda. "We produce sugar from the sugar cane we grow here."
"Gloom, Gloom."
Florinda then proceeded to climb up a ladder and reached for a small wool bag with sugar cubes in it before handing it to Jigglypuff.
"So far, so good," said Jigglypuff, crossing sugar cubes off their list.
Meanwhile, Peach & Daisy continued doing their first lap on their bikes. By that point, the Bulbasaur started using their powers and abilities on the two princesses.
"Incoming!" cried Daisy as sharp, green leaves were being thrown at her.
"AHHH!" cried Peach as so much of her exposed skin got pelted with green leaves.
As for the two teams behind them, Fox & Krystal and P.T. & Lucario were now heading towards the large group of Charmander that were now getting ready to attack. One Charmander already had fire coming out of his mouth.
"What the heck?!" said Fox. "Is that Charmander going to use flamethrower on us?"
"Uh oh," said Krystal, who was really getting worried now. "I don't want to get burned!"
"Charmander!" cried the fire type Pokémon as they prepared to fire.
"Oh no!" cried Lucario "Not these guys!"
"Oh crud!" cried P.T. "We're going to get bar-b-qued!"
All of the Charmander suddenly started to shoot fire out of their mouths.

"For once, I actually thought we were going to die!" said P.T. "I mean, for real man! For real!"
END:
The Charmander continued to shoot flames in front of the oncoming racers. There was a bunch of coal spread all around the dirt roads. Fox & Krystal and P.T. & Lucario were now shown riding their bikes over the flaming coals.
"Woo hoo!" cried Fox, who was having fun. "THIS IS AWESOME!"
"NO, IT'S NOOOOOOOT!" cried Krystal, who felt like her blue fur was going to get burned.
Meanwhile, Bowser & Bowser Jr. arrived at Pallet town, got their next clue from Professor Oak, and ripped it open to see what they had to do next.
BOWSER & BOWSER JR.: Currently in 6th Place
"Look's like it's another Detour," said Bowser Jr. "This time we have to either go bike riding or do some garden work."
"Screw the dumb gardening task!" said Bowser, before grabbing his son's hand so they could leave quickly. "We've got some peddling to do!"
"Okay then, cool it, will you," said Bowser Jr., struggling to free his hand from Bowser's grasp once more.
As The two Koopas exited Professor Oak's laboratory, Fox & Krystal managed to get away from all the flames. They were the first ones to finish the biking task as they crossed the finish line first.
"Alright!" said Fox, slowing his bike down before stopping. "That was wicked!"
"Whew!" Krystal stopped her bike next to Fox's. "I could live for a thousand years and hope to NEVER do that again!" This made Fox laugh.
P.T. & Lucario also finished up the task. Both teams had now crossed the finish line.
"Aw man, they beat us!" said P.T., who really wanted to beat them at the challenge.
"The leg isn't over yet, master," said Lucario.
"Congratulations, you guys!" said Tracey, who then reached into his pocket. "Here's your next clue."
"Thank you," said Krystal.
"Yeah, thanks a lot," said P.T.
Both teams then ripped open their clues to find out what they had to do next.
FOX & KRYSTAL and POKEMON TRAINER & LUCARIO: Currently in 1st and 2nd place
"What's it say, Fox?" asked Krystal.
"It's says…"
CONGRATULATIONS ON COMPLETING THE DETOUR! MAKE YOUR WAY BACK TO PROFESSOR OAK'S LAB NOW.
"That's it?" said P.T. to Lucario. "It doesn't say anything else?"
"No, master."
"There's no time to waste," said Fox. "We better get over there and see what we can do."
"Roger," said Krystal as both teams began to run straight there.
As for Ness & Lucas were still struggling with the bike riding task as the Pokémon continued to give them a hard time.
"Ouch!" cried Lucas as several Bublbasaur kept using leaf blade on him.
"Woah!" cried Ness when the Bulbasaur used vine whip on the wheels of his bike. He nearly toppled over. "Hey, cut it out, will you!"
Back at the Xanadu Nursery, Kirby & Jigglypuff were finishing gathering up gardening supplies.
"Here are the three large bags of fertilizer you guys asked for," said Florinda, placing all three of them on their wheelbarrow.
"Great! We've got everything we need now," said Jigglypuff, marking fertilizer off her list.
"I'll pay for everything," said Kirby.
The two puffballs then gathered up all of their gardening supplies and brought them over to the cash register.
"2 bags of corn seeds…" said Florinda, looking at the price tags. "…that'll be $12.35, please."
KA-CHING!
"3 large bags of fertilizer… that'll be $73.95, please."
KA-CHING!
"And finally, 1 bag of sugar cubes… that'll be $1.75."
KA-CHING!
"Alright, you're all set," said Florinda.
"And we've still got money left to spare," said Kirby.
"Alright!" said Jigglypuff, who was hoping they could later get a burger at a fast-food restaurant when they get the chance.
While the two puffballs were heading back to the Ketchum residence, however, the wheelbarrow had now become extremely heavy that it was taking forever for them to move it.
"Come on, Jigs, push!" said Kirby.
"I'm PUSHING!" said Jigglypuff, struggling to get the wheelbarrow to move.
Bowser & Bowser Jr., meanwhile, were now putting on protective gear now that they had found the bikes.
"Alright!" said Bowser, who was now ready to go. "It's now time to kick this race into high gear and peddle to the meddle!"
Bowser Jr. rolled his eyes.
Once Bowser picked out the biggest bike, he then tried to get on it. Once he did, however, he heard a rumbling sound from below.
"What's that sound?" said Bowser Jr.
Suddenly, Bowser found himself to have collapsed to the ground. His weight had caused the bike to smash to bits.
"Ah man! Now look what you did, you fatty!" said Bowser Jr. "You broke it!"
Bowser growled in annoyance. First it was the horse in the previous leg, now it was a bicycle. "Grr! This better not come out of our million-dollar paycheck!"
Left with no other option, the evil Koopas decided to leave and go do the gardening challenge instead.
Meanwhile, Fox & Krystal and P.T. & Lucario had arrived back at Professor Oak's Laboratory. Once they did, Professor Oak escorted them to the backyard. Once there, both teams were now shown being surrounded by tons of Pokémon from so many different regions of the Pokémon world, regions like Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, etc.
"Alright, yeah!" cried P.T., looking around at all the different Pokémon.
"Wow!" said Krystal, stunned. "Look at them all."
They saw Eevee, Pichu, Slowpoke, Koffing, Arcanine, Snorlax, Torchic, Cyndequil, Staraptor, Litten, Greninja, Oshawott, and much, much, much more.

"Never before had I ever seen so many different Pokémon with my own eyes," said Fox. "I was just in disbelief. It was incredible."
"They were all just so precious," said Krystal. "I just wanted to gather a few of them up and take them home with me. The little darlings are just so cute!"
END:
"So why did we have to come back over here, professor?" P.T. asked.
"Good question, young man," said Professor Oak. "Follow me. There's something I need to show you."
The professor led the two teams to a secluded area in the backyard. It was here where there were tons of different Pokémon lined up next to each other lying on their backs. They didn't look very healthy.
"What in the world!?" said Lucario, who suddenly realized the state of all the Pokémon. "They're all sick!"
"Oh no!" said P.T. "It can't be!"
"I'm afraid he's right," said Professor Oak. "Tons of Pokémon have been getting very sick lately. It just so happens that there is a virus going around. Unfortunately, I've now run out of medicine, and since the sickness in these poor things is getting worse, I'm going to need your help."
"What do you need us to do?" said Fox.
"I need you to gather the sickest Pokémon you can find and take it the nearest Pokémon center right away. You can do that for me, can't you?"
"Sure thing, Professor," said Fox.
"You can count on us," said P.T., who was now ready to perform an act of community service. "It's time to prove my worth as a Pokémon Trainer!"
TOAD'S NARRATION:
"Teams are now instructed to gather a sick Pokémon of their choice and deliver it to the nearest Pokémon center, which is in Viridian City," said Toad. "This time, teams are going to have to figure out how to get there on their own by using public transportation. This means anything goes, such as taxis, buses, trains, and bicycles. Once teams have reached the Pokémon center and have safely delivered their sick Pokémon, Nurse Joy will give them their next clue."
END:
"So how are we going to be able to gather up our sick Pokémon?" said Fox.
"Simple," said Professor Oak. "You just use the poke ball that y'all received earlier and catch them with it. The Pokémon are already in their most weakened state since they're all sick, so you don't have to worry about battling them beforehand."
"Sounds good enough to me," said P.T. He then put himself into position and aimed his poke ball at a sick Psyduck. "Pokéball…GO!" Once P.T. threw the poke ball at Psyduck, the little guy started glowing red and then got sucked into it. It was now safe and sound inside the red and white orb.
"ALRIGHT!" yelled P.T. "I COUGHT PSYDUCK!" he then showed off his victory pose.
Lucario facepalmed himself. "Master, you do realize it's only temporary, right?"
"I know," said P.T., scratching his head while sweat dropping, "I just couldn't resist."
"Fox, over here," said Krystal, grabbing his attention. "This poor little thing looks like it's in agony. Let's take this one." She was pointing at a sick little Skitty.
Fox looked at their pokéball before smiling. "I've always wanted to do this. Pokéball…GO!"
Once Fox had thrown his pokéball at Skitty, the sick thing was then sucked into it and was then safe and sound inside the ball.
"Well, would you look at that," said Professor Oak. "You just caught yourself a Skitty. Good to see the little fella is now in good hands."
"Now all we have to do is figure out how to get to Viridian City," said Lucario.
"Sir, is it alright if we use your computer in your lab?" Fox asked professor Oak.
"Sure, go right ahead."
"Thank you very much," said Krystal.
"Let's get going, Lucario!" said P.T., who was already running back inside.
In the meantime, Link & Zelda and Mario & Luigi became the last two teams to arrive in Pallet Town. Once both teams got out of the taxi and payed their fees, they went inside Professor Oak's Laboratory, and received their clues from the poke balls he gave them.
MARIO & LUIGI: Currently in 7th Place
"Detour…" Luigi read.
LINK & ZELDA: Currently in Last Place
"Biking or Gardening," Link read.
"We're going to go bike riding," said Mario almost immediately. The two Mario-Bros then left to find the bikes.
As for Link & Zelda however…
"I think it's better for us to do the gardening task," Zelda suggested since she had never ridden a bike before in her life. Link, however, didn't agree.

END:
"We're not doing the gardening task, Zel," said Link. "We're doing the bikes."
This irked Zelda. "But Link, I don't know how to ride a bike."
"Well, there's no better time to learn than right now. Come on."
"But Link…" Link, however, had already started running to find the bikes, irking Zelda even further. "Grr!"

In the meantime, Ness & Lucas managed to survive laps 2 and 3 on the bike course and got passed all the Squirtles and Charmanders. They were charred, soaked, and covered in dirt.
"Yay, we made it," said Lucas, sighing with relief that they were now finished.
Once Ness & Lucas rode their bikes across the finish line, Tracey Sketchit went over to them to reward them. "Congratulations, here's your next clue."
"Thanks," said Ness, grabbing it.
NESS & LUCAS: Currently in 3rd Place
Peach & Daisy, meanwhile, were busy finishing up lap 2 as they were now being clobbered by Squirtle shooting Water-Gun at them. Only, since they didn't have any clothing on, they were enjoying it. To them, it was like a riding a bike through a water park.
"Look out!" cried Peach as the Squirtle used water gun on her, drenching her. "Woo hoo! This is fun! So refreshing!"
"Whew! Good thing we're only wearing our underwear," said a soaked and wet Daisy as she continued peddling.
As for Kirby & Jigglypuff, they were still struggling pushing their wheelbarrow full of gardening supplies back to the Ketchum Residence.
"Why..is this…thing…so heavy?!" Kirby whined while pushing with all his might. (Cue to Jigglypuff lying down in the wheelbarrow, resting)
Bowser & Bowser, meanwhile, were having trouble trying to find the Ketchum Residence.
"I told you we should have gone right!" yelled Bowser Jr. "That's what we should have done back there! Instead, you made us take this stupid short cut, and now we're lost!"
"We're not lost!" said Bowser, carrying the map. "I know where we're going! You just freak out too much because you're an impatient little whiner!"
"I'm not a whiner! You're a moron!"
"Shut up!"
Link & Zelda were also squabbling as they were putting on their helmets and knee pads near the lined up bicycles.
"Zelda, I wanted us to do this task because these kinds of tasks are the only way to get you to do some actual work," said Link.
"So are you saying I'm lazy or do you just think I'm useless?" said Zelda, questioning him.
"Well, if the shoes fit."
"How dare you!"
As for Ness & Lucas, they were now entering Professor Oak's Laboratory. While doing so, Fox & Krystal were exiting the building, followed by P.T. & Lucario.
"Hey, boys," said Krystal to Ness & Lucas.
"Hi," said Lucas.
"That biking task was insane wasn't it," said Fox.
"Extremely," said Ness before he and Lucas went inside.
As for Fox & Krystal, they were now getting inside their cab that they had waiting for them. P.T. & Lucario on the other hand…
"Uh oh!" said P.T., who just now realized that he let their cab go when they arrived in Pallet Town.
"Hey sir, we need you to get us to Viridian City as fast as possible," said Krystal.
While Fox was busy putting their backpacks back in the trunk, P.T. tried asking him if they could go with them.
"Hey uh… could you possibly spare us some seats?" he asked, point blank.
Ignoring his plea, Fox got inside the cab with Krystal and closed the door. They were then driven away in their cab, leaving P.T. & Lucario behind.
P.T. hit himself in the head for his stupidity. "Man! I knew we should have kept our cab waiting here."
"Now what are we going to do?" said Lucario. "We're way out in the country. There's no way we can obtain a cab out here, not unless we call for one from a telephone.
"But that'll take too long," said P.T. "Trust me, I've tried it once before, and I ended up waiting for hours."
"Well, what other options do we have?"
Fox & Krystal meanwhile…
"I'm not usually one to criticize, but Pokémon Trainer sure has some nerve asking us for a lift when they weren't willing to help us earlier," said Fox as he went through their fanny pack in the cab.
"It's good to see they're getting a taste of their own medicine," said Krystal.
As for Ness & Lucas, they were shown in the backyard of Professor Oak's Lab gathering their sick Pokémon.
"Go pokéball!" cried Ness, throwing it at a sick Pignite.
"Alright!" cried Lucas. "You got him!"
Once that was done, they then asked Professor Oak how to get to Viridian City.
"There is a bus station not too far from here," said Professor Oak. "If you take a bus, you'll get there in just a few short hours. Plus, it's cheaper than taking a cab."
"Okay," said Lucas. "Thanks."
P.T. & Lucario, meanwhile, were looking at their map and found that same bus station while reading it.
"Maybe we should head to that bus station and take a bus to Viridian City," said P.T. "Buses are just as fast as cabs."
"Yeah, except we'd have to walk an extremely long distance just to get to that bus station," said Lucario. "Our sick Pokémon can't hold on that much longer."
"Maybe not," said P.T. "I got an idea. Come on."
(A few minutes later)
"Hey! What do you think you're doing!" cried Tracey.
"Where borrowing these," said P.T. as he and Lucario took the bikes that they used earlier.
"H-Hey wait! Those aren't yours!"
"We'll give them back someday!" cried P.T. as he and Lucario peddled away.
This left Tracey speechless. "…Oh, you!"
P.T. & Lucario were shown peddling their way to the bus station.
"Don't you think we'll get penalized for this, master!?" said Lucario, feeling concerned as he peddled behind him.
"It'll be fine," P.T. insisted as he rode his bicycle. "As long as we stay ahead of the others, nothing can wreck our game."
At that moment, Kirby & Jigglypuff had FINALLY made it back to the Ketchum residence with their wheelbarrow full of gardening supplies.
"Whew!" said Jigglypuff, lying on the ground. "We're finally here!"
"Come on, Jigglypuff," said Kirby, who was now grabbing a bag of fertilizer out of the wheel barrow. "Let's get to work."
"Right!" Jigglypuff then helped him get all their other stuff out of the wheelbarrow and took them to the backyard.
"All of my little Ashy-boy's thirty Tauros are in the field over there," said Delia, pointing at them.
"Mime, Mr. Mime!" said Mr. Mime, who was shown unlocking the wooden gate to the field so they could enter it.
"Cool! I'll go pick one out right now!" said Jigglypuff excitedly, running towards the Tauros.
"I'll get the plow ready," said Kirby.
Once Jigglypuff brought over one of the Tauros that she picked out, Kirby tied some rope to the Tauros, and attached it to the plow. After that, Delia directed them over to where they needed to start plowing.
"Here we are!" Delia chimed. "All you need to do now is plow one strait line all the way to the other end of the field and then you can start planting your seeds!"
"Sounds simple enough," said Kirby, or so he thought.
"Let's do this!" said Jigglypuff, who then took a sugar cube out of the wool bag and held it up for the Tauros to see. "Yoo-hoo. Come get the sugar cube, Mr. Tauros."
This caught the Tauros' attention as it then started moving to try and grab it in his mouth.
"Here we go," said Kirby, who then started pushing the plow as the Tauros pulled it.
Plowing the field wasn't easy. There were times where Jigglypuff wasn't directing the Tauros in a straight enough path that Kirby often had to tell her to get the Tauros to go back the other way. Other times, the plow kept popping up out of the ground because Kirby wasn't pushing the plow hard enough. Plowing the field was quite a challenge, but they kept going until they had reached the other side of the field.
"Good try," said Delia when she met them at the other side, "but I'm afraid the line isn't straight enough. See here…" Delia showed them their mistakes. The line they sometimes swerved in other directions thanks to Jigglypuff's misdirecting of the Tauros. The line also had some missing spots thanks to Kirby popping the plow out of the ground at times.
"Ouch," said Kirby. "Guess we didn't do so good, huh."
"Let's try it again then," said Jigglypuff, "this is actually pretty fun. You want me push the plow this time, Kirby?" she asked.
"No thanks, I can do this," he insisted as he got the plow ready again. "You just keep directing the Tauros down the field, but try and go straighter this time."
While the two puffballs continued plowing Mrs. Ketchum's field, Ness & Lucas had left Professor Oak's Lab and got in their cab that they had waiting for them.
"Alright, sir, we need to get to the bus station that's nearby from here," said Ness.
"And we need to get there fast," Lucas added.
"You got it," said the cab driver.
Not long after, P.T. & Lucario were still peddling madly down the road towards the bus station on their bikes. While doing so, Ness & Lucas's cab suddenly drove right passed them.
"Master, that was Ness & Lucas that went by just now. I could sense it," said Lucario.
"…Great," said P.T. sarcastically. He hated that they were continuing to fall behind from the lead they had reobtained earlier.
As for Ness & Lucas, who were now in second place.
"There's P.T. & Lucario right there!" Lucas pointed to them from his side window.
"Where did they get those bikes?" said Ness, leaving him curious. "Those two sure are something else."
Meanwhile, as P.T. & Lucario continued peddling down the road, there was suddenly a gigantic ball of smoke that blew up in their faces, causing P.T. to lose control of the bike and having him and Lucario fall to the grass next to pavement.
"What was that?!" said P.T.
Lucario then suddenly heard laughter coming from up above. "Master, look!"
Both of them saw a big hot air balloon coming their way from up in the sky. The hot air balloon was shaped like a gigantic Meowth and it contained two weird people inside. One was a woman with really long red hair, and the other was a man with shoulder length blue hair.
"Prepare for Trouble!" said the red-haired woman.
"And make it double!" said the blue-haired man.
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
Suddenly, a Meowth Pokémon popped out of nowhere. "Meowth! That's right!"
Then, a Wobbuffet Pokémon popped out of nowhere. "Wooooooobbuffet!"
"…Who the heck are you crazy weirdos?!" P.T. shouted, completely shocked that he was in the presence of a talking meowth.
"And why did you knock us off our bike!" Lucario demanded.
"We, my friend, are Team Rocket," said James. "We hail from an elite organization that specializes in capturing the rarest types of Pokémon for profit and glory."
"And If anyone is crazy, that would be you, you little twerp," said Jessie, who then started wagging her finger in P.T.'s face. "Didn't your mommy ever tell you it's dangerous to ride your bike without a helmet?"
"Woooooobbuffet!" said Jessie's Wobbuffet.
"As for why we knocked you guys off your bike, it's because you, Lucario, are our next target!" said Meowth, pointing at him maliciously.
"Say what?!" said P.T. angrily while Lucario started growling menacingly.
"However," said Jessie, "before we steal your Lucario, we first need to see just how powerful your Lucario truly is; by having a Pokémon battle."
"I'm not going to let you take away my Lucario!" P.T. angrily shouted. "Lucario, use quick attack!"
Lucario jumped into the air and quickly prepared to attack.
"Meowth, use scratch!" said James.
Meowth was able to evade Lucario's quick attack and scratched him really badly.
"Shoot!" said P.T. "Okay, Lucario, this time, use Fury Swipe!"
"Wobbuffet, use Counter Attack!" said Jessie.
Wobbuffet was able to deflect Lucario's Fury Swipe right back at it him, causing more damage to Lucario.
"Aw man, not again!" said P.T. "Looks like all this racing has gotten me pretty rusty."
"Give up yet, twerp?" said James maliciously.
"No way! I'm not letting you guys win!" P.T. then started thinking in his head. 'But we're just wasting time. What do I do?'
CONFESSIONAL:
Pokemon Trainer & Lucario: Best Friends
"I couldn't let those guys take away my Lucario," said P.T., "but I knew fighting Team Rocket directly wasn't helping. I had to come up with a different way to get us out of that situation."
END:
"Master, what do I do now!?" Lucario yelled to him. He was getting pretty badly bruised.
"Face it, Twerp, you're Lucario is as good as ours," said Jessie before laughing evilly.
Suddenly, P.T. got an idea. "I got it! Lucario, use Aura Sphere on that hot air balloon!"
"WHAT!?" said the entire Team Rocket trio.
"My pleasure," said Lucario before building up a big ball of blue energy. He then threw the glowing ball at Team Rocket's hot air balloon and put a hole in it, causing Team Rocket to fly all over the place.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!" They all cried before Lucario caused the hot air balloon to explode with another one of his Aura Spheres. This caused Team Rocket to go flying all the way up into the Stratosphere. "TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAAAAAAAAAIN!"
Suddenly, the Team Rocket trio disappeared into the sky without a trace.
"Whew! Good job, Lucario. We got those guys for sure!" said P.T.
"Thank you, my friend," said Lucario. "You saved us."
"Come on, lets keep going." P.T. then picked up his bike and got back on, with Lucario doing the same. The two then continued down the road.
As for Ness & Lucas, they were only over three quarters of the way to the bus station when suddenly, their taxi started slowing down.
"Oh no!" said the taxi driver.
"What's going on?" said Lucas. "Why are we stopping, sir?"
"I totally forgot to put gas in this car before I left home!" he said, hitting himself in the head for his mistake.
"What!?" said Ness in disbelief.
"You've got to be kidding me!" said Lucas.
Suddenly, their taxi had now come to a complete halt. The taxi driver was now slamming his head on the steering wheel feeling ashamed. "My boss is going to kill me!"
"She better if she knows what's good for you!" said a very upset Ness, while taking money out of their fanny pack to pay him.
"Yeah, you big dummy!" said Lucas, who was just as mad as Ness. "You could've gotten us hurt!"
Not wanting to waste any more time with an irresponsible taxi driver, Ness & Lucas decided to just get out of the taxi and walk the rest of the way to the bus station. While walking, however, their sick Pignite suddenly came popping out of its pokeball.
"What the heck?!" said Lucas, completely taken by surprise.
The poor thing was squealing in agony. It was getting sicker and sicker.
"Calm down, little guy!" said Ness. "We'll be at the Viridian City Pokemon Center as soon as we can, now get back in your ball."
When Ness aimed the red light at Pignite, however, it evaded it. Lucas then took the pokeball out of his hands and tried to do it himself, but the Pignite still wouldn't go back inside it's pokeball. Apparently, the little Pignite did not like staying in small and tight spaces for very long, especially while it was in such a sick condition. This frustrated the both of them.
"Forget it, Lucas!" said Ness. "We'll just carry it for now. Maybe that'll help calm it down."
"Fine," Lucas sighed as he picked up the squealing Pignite. "Could things possibly get any worse?"
Around that time, there was a blue haired policewoman that was shown driving her motorcycle down the same road. While driving, she saw P.T. & Lucario riding their bikes down the same direction that she was going, so she started slowing down to talk to them.
"Hey, boys," she said, "nice day out."
"Oh, hi Officer Jenny," said P.T. as they continued peddling. Lucario just smiled at her.
"Listen, have you two seen any Pokémon thieves around here as of late?" asked Jenny.
"Pokémon thieves?"
"Yes. They call themselves Team Rocket, and my sources tell me that they've just now been spotted in this very area."
"Team Rocket!" said P.T. "We ran into those guys just minutes ago!
"you did!?" said Jenny, surprised.
"Yeah. They were trying to take my Lucario! Luckily, though, we managed to out beat them, right Lucario?"
Lucario nodded proudly.
"Good, can you tell me where they went?" Jenny asked.
"Well it's kind of hard to say," said P.T. "They just disappeared out of nowhere after we took care of them."
"That's okay, I'll go on ahead and see if I can find them from there. You be sure to call me if you run into them again."
"We will."
"And next time, put on a helmet before riding your bikes," she then angrily scolded.
"Uhh…" P.T. suddenly got nervous."
"Don't you know it's illegal to ride your bikes on the side of the road without wearing any sort of protective gear?"
"Oh, right… sorry," said P.T., now realizing they were probably in trouble.
Officer Jenny then suddenly smiled. "It's okay. Since you just now gave me the information I needed on Team Rocket, I'll let you two off with a warning."
"Whew," said P.T. "that's a relief."
Officer Jenny then sped up her motorcycle down the road. "You two have a safe day now, and be careful while riding your bikes!"
"We will!" P.T. shouted out to her while Lucario waved goodbye.
Meanwhile, as Ness & Lucas continued walking down the road, they were getting annoyed at their sick Pignite as it kept squealing out of control in Lucas' arms.
"Can't you get that thing to calm down!?" yelled Ness, who was getting angry.
"I can't! I don't know how," said Lucas, who was having a hard time.
"Here, just let me hold it!" Ness grabbed hold of the sick Pignite while handing the map over to Lucas. "You try and find us a way to the bus station. Hey, hold still already!"
As Ness & Lucas continued to have a hard time with the Pignite, Officer Jenny was just then shown driving over to them.
"What in the world?" she said as she saw the Pignite Ness was holding, so she slowed down and stopped her motorcycle next to them. "Hey boys, what's going on here? Why are you two carrying your Pignite like that? You know you can just carry it inside its pokeball, right?"
"It won't go inside its pokeball," said Ness, irritated. "It's being stubborn and stupid!"
"It's very sick," Lucas added. "We're trying to get it to the Pokémon center in Viridian City."
"Viridian City!" said Jenny. "You're not even going to get there by nightfall just by walking on foot." Suddenly, Officer Jenny got suspicious. "Wait a minute, why are you two walking on foot anyways?"
"Our taxi broke down because that stupid taxi driver didn't put gas in it," said Ness.
"So now where trying to get to the bus station," said Lucas.
"The bus station, eh?" Officer Jenny, however, didn't seem entirely convinced by their story. Seeing two dirty looking kids walking on the side of the road carrying a panicking Pignite in their arms was definitely something you didn't see every day. She then held out her hand. "May I see your identification please?"
This confused both Ness & Lucas. "Huh? Our identification?" said Lucas.
"You are Pokémon Trainers, aren't you? All you have to do is give me your pokedex."
Ness just stood there, confused. "I… I don't have a pokedex."
"Hmm…" Officer Jenny was getting even more suspicious. "Well then, do you have a pokedex young man?" She asked Lucas.
Lucas just shook his head. "Sorry…"
"Hmm…well then, if you two don't have a pokedex in hand, that means you two aren't really Pokémon trainers. Aren't you?"
Ness & Lucas once again just shook their heads.
Officer Jenny then shot them an angry look. "I thought so. If you two aren't Pokémon trainers, then you two have absolutely no business carrying around that poor little Pignite. I'm afraid I have no other choice but to take you two in."
"What!?" Lucas could not believe what he was hearing. "But… but, why?"
"According to word of mouth, there's been Pokémon thieving at work around here, and if my intuition is correct, you two are the Pokémon thieves I am looking for!"
"Ma'am please, I swear, we're not thieves," said Ness, trying in vain to reason with her. "We're just trying to get this poor little Pignite to the Pokémon center like we were told to."
"Told by who? By Team Rocket itself? I'll bet it was so, so you don't have to say another word. I've heard everything I needed to hear."
"…Whose Team Rocket?" said Ness, but Officer Jenny silenced him.
"Not another word out of any of you. You have the right to remain silent!"
"W-What are you going to do?" said Lucas, who was now getting scared.
"I just told you, I'm taking you in." she repeated herself.
"But why?"
"Because you two are not permitted to be carrying any Pokémon in your possession! That's why I am placing the both of you under arrest!"

Author's note: Hey guys, I'm back. Glad I was able to finish this chapter, especially now that writing it is becoming harder now that I'm working at my new job. I've also been suffering from writers block lately so I decided to start playing Pokémon: Diamond for inspiration. Since I never played the games, and only saw the anime, I figured why not start playing the games so I can get a much better understanding of Pokémon. Yeah, I know I should have gotten either Pokémon: Red, Blue, or Yellow since this leg is taking place in the Kanto region, but I only have a DS Light in hand, so Pokémon: Diamond was going to have to do. Nevertheless, glad I am now getting this race story back on track, especially after I finished watching the recently concluded season 30 of The Amazing Race. (Wonderful season by the way. It gave me so much inspiration, and I'm very happy with the winners.) Hope you all enjoyed this chapter. Also, pardon any grammar errors and misspellings. It is just a fanfic to me after all, so it doesn't have to be perfect, at least not yet. See ya later.
