Chapter 9

A/N: Hey everyone, I know it's been a long time since I uploaded anything for this story. Life has gotten in the way with my work. Here's a new chapter finally. I plan on trying to get this thing going again, so look for it. Just remember, I only own the characters I created. Not Gundam Wing. Enjoy!

"Boss? What's going on? I was told the Vice-Foreign Minister was killed."

"She is, and that's how it's going to stay." Heero said with a cold voice as he aimed his weapon at Mit.

Mit stood there and realized what was about to happen and felt… relief. Relief that all the pain and

sorrow he had experienced was over.

"I understand." Mit said calmly.

"Heero, this doesn't need to happen. Please, lower the gun." Relena said calmly.

"We can't take the chance of you being found out and taken captive, or worse killed. I won't let it

happen." Heero said.

"Please Heero. There has already been too much bloodshed. Please."

"Mom, what's going on?" a small voice said behind all of tense people in the small room.

They all turned, and saw a small boy, about 7 was standing in the corridor wiping the sleep from his

eyes. Heero immediately placed the pistol on its holster to keep from frightening the boy.

"Alex, what are you doing out of bed?" Corrine said with a stern voice.

"You didn't come read me my bedtime story. I was looking for you." He said with a sheepish smile.

"Go to your room. I'll be there in a few minutes."

"Okay mom."

What caught everyone by surprise is that the young boy walking away from the door was an almost

miniature copy of Mit, save for a few subtle differences.

"Corrine, you're a mom?" Mit asked, slightly dumbfounded.

"Yes, and he is your son. His name is Alex. He's 6 and half."

"I think we need to step back into the conference room and have a talk. Don't you agree Heero?"

Quatre asked.

"Yes we do. Let's go Mit." Heero said.

"Yeah; Corrine we need to talk when I'm done with them." Mit said.

Corrine simply nodded. As Mit turned, he saw a shimmer of a tear rolling down Corrine's cheek. He

walked over to her and gently brushed it away from her face.

"You know I could never stand to see you cry Corrine." Mit said with a smile.

He placed a small kiss on her cheek and whispered to her.

"I missed you, my hummingbird."

He walked away with Heero and Quatre back to the conference room.

When the door shut, Mit began.

"Well, I guess the first thing you should know is how I know Corrine. I met her back before the war

really started. I was a soldier in the Alliance. I was part of a special group known as the Elites."

"Wait, you are…" Quatre began asking.

"That's right. The group that Heero mentioned in the briefing is apparently the same group. We were a

Special Forces unit tasked with putting out small brushfires if you will. We stopped rebellions and

prevented uprising that would destabilize the Alliance. We believed that we had to keep the Alliance

intact to preserve peace. It wasn't until later many of us realized that we were being used to shape the

political world and helping put people that didn't have the Alliance's best intentions before their own

greed. It wasn't until after the Gundams came to Earth that I found this out. That was why I teamed up

with the Gundam pilots and helped them. When I was still in the Elites, my life had changed. I was a

weapons instructor training new recruits. I had finished for the day and was practicing some hand to

hand combat with an old friend and fellow teammate Tim Thatcher when our little workout went a little

south and I ended up at the hospital. I had come into the hospital on base that was run by the Winner

Corporation with a broken arm. Corrine was the nurse that set my arm and we got to talking. The next

thing I knew, I asked her to dinner, and we went out. We ended up getting really close and fell in love

with each other. I will admit Quatre, as I assumed you figured out, Corrine and I did sleep together."

"I don't judge you Mit. You are both adults and were in love. Please, continue."

I was actually planning to ask her to marry me. I was even planning on retiring and settling down. The

night I was going to propose, the world went to Hell. Gundam 02 attacked the base I was stationed at.

Corrine and I heard explosions and rushed to the base to find it under attack. Corrine rushed to the

hospital to help in the evacuation while I ran to help get my new recruits to safety. Unfortunately, I was

too late. The barracks were already destroyed. I immediately ran to a Leo because I believed that 02

was going to target the hospital. As I was starting towards the hospital, I was spotted by the Gundam.

He attacked me and destroyed the Leo. Luckily, he missed the reactor, and I was able to eject to safety.

I was badly injured and barely able to escape the destruction. I was picked up by a recon unit returning

from the field and taken to a medical center for treatment. It was after that I discovered that only 15

Elites survived. We later combined forces and joined the resistances against OZ and the Romafeller

Foundation. It was later I had been told Corrine died in an attack later in the war and I didn't even

know I had a child. That's pretty much the entire story, boss."

"What happened to the other Elites?" Quatre asked.

"They were killed during the war. The last team was helping a guerilla group and went out on a recon

mission in China. They were never heard from again. I lost some good friends in that war."

"We all have." Heero said.

"So what now?" asked Mit.

Heero stood in silence for a moment, processing the new information, trying to decide what to do.

"You said you've had advanced training with the Elites?"

"Yes. We received training on all types of weapons, including mobile suits. We also were taught

advanced hand to hand combat, as well as interrogation techniques and resistance to multiple forms of

chemical serums." Mit answered.

"Let's test that, shall we? Quatre, do you have a gym with a fighting mat?"

"Of course." Quatre responded. "What do you plan on doing?"

"I plan to see just how good Mit really is."
