This is a story about Persephone 'Sephie' Salacia Jackson. She was not fully Greek as you may think. Her mother Sally was the daughter of the Roman god Vulcan. The God of Fire, the Forge and Volcanoes, of Metals and Metallurgy. And the Lord of Craftsmen and Smiths.
Sally always took her daughter to Camp Jupiter. They always spent the whole summer there. So by the age of five, Sephie knew her way around the camp and New Rome. And ate at the Garden Café at least once a day. While there, Sephie became friends with Jason Grace.
And he was the son of Jupiter. The king of the gods. And the Roman aspect of Zeus. Zeus and Hades always visited Sephie whenever they got a chance. Hera and Hestia loved their niece and doted on her.
And Amphitrite, Sephie's stepmother, came and talked to her. Amphitrite and Sephie loved each other. And when he could visit, Sephie's older brother Triton loved and doted on his little sister.
The Roman goddess Diana came to Sephie one night when she was nine years old. Diana needed a champion. And she chose Sephie. Diana exploded that if Sephie was a Greek demigod, Artemis would claim her as a champion as well.
And whenever Sally went to Camp Jupiter to help train her siblings, she brought her daughter along with her. Jason, being basically the same age as Sephie, taught the demigod/legacy how to fight.
When Sephie was old enough, she was given a demigod proof phone that her uncles at the camp made. And it had Jason's number in it. The two talked everyday.
It also had the numbers of every demigod she made friends with. Sally was happy that her daughter had friends. Sephie was happy that she was on so many peoples trust lists.
Sephie knew she was special. She knew that she was a demigod. Her mother just would not tell her who her parent was. She knew if it was Greek, she was related to the Hephaestus cabin.
She really hoped it was Roman though. But, deep down, she knew it was going to be Greek. Over time Sephie became stronger. She became a warrior. Sephie's relationship with Jason became stronger too.
Sally knew time crept closer to the point where she would have to send her daughter off to camp half blood. The Greek camp. Sally knew there would be a part of Sephie that screamed that she was in enemy Territory. Like when Sephie was at camp Jupiter.
Sally had asked her father to claim Sephie as a legacy in his geek form and to keep her safe. Vulcan took that a step further and made his granddaughter her own weapons to use. Like her sword that turns into a pen and her trident that hides in a necklace. And a watch that turns into a working watch with Roman numerals on it.
Sephie named her sword riptide. Her trident was named vulcanus after her grandfather. Her grandfather also gave her a spear that split into smaller batons.
