"Perry, you have to put Kassandra back in her bassinet."
Della insisted as Perry laid their 8 – week old daughter between their pillows after he had taken the midnight feed as Perry shook his head.
"If I do, I won't be able to sleep."
Della smiled as Perry placed a hand on Kassandra's stomach as the baby grabbed on to her father's finger as Perry and Kassandra fell asleep as her mind wandered to two events that changed their lives in the best way possible.
"I'm pregnant, Perry. You're going to be a father."
Della said as Perry laughed and twirled her around as Della smiled,
"I can't believe it, a baby."
Perry said with a smile as Della kissed him softly.
"Well, it's true. The doctor told me that I'm 9 – weeks along."
Della said with a smile.
Perry was fast asleep when Della's mind took her to when Kassandra was born and chuckled silently as they had barely made it to the hospital before her second love decided to it was time make her appearance.
"Oh, Perry wake up. It's time."
Della shook Perry awake when after waking up to her water breaking as she whimpered in pain.
Perry leapt into action but baby Kassandra had other plans, right as they turned into the hospital,
"Perry, I have to push."
Della winced as Perry parked the car and ran to the ER to tell them what was going on as they called for nurses and doctors from labor and delivery.
"OK, Mama. Time to push, nice deep breath and push!"
The doctor on call coached once they got Della into a room as she pushed hard crying out in pain.
What everyone didn't know is that Kassandra was very impatient and it took all of two pushes and then she was born,
"It's a girl."
Della smiled remembering how elated Perry was to find out that he had a daughter, then sleep finally came.
Then around 6 am, she woke up hearing Kassandra's happy coos as she settled in the easy chair in the nursery as she nursed the little girl while humming softly.
Once she placed Kassandra in her crib and made the coffee,
"Morning, Mama. Sleep well?"
Perry asked with a boyish grin as Della's heart melted as she kissed her husband,
"Morning, Daddy. Yes, did you sleep well?"
Perry smiled as he sat in his recliner not before saying softly,
"Della, bring me my baby."
Della smiled,
"I don't want to wake her, I just got her to sleep 30 minutes ago."
Perry smiled that same boyish grin as he repeated himself,
"Bring me my baby."
Della couldn't say "no" to him whenever he flashed that smile of his as she gently picked Kassandra up and placed her in Perry's arms without waking her as she smiled contentedly at the scene before her.
A/N: The co-sleeping at the beginning is something that Grandpa Joe would do because my Grandma Virginia swore that he wouldn't sleep if I wasn't in the bed with them as a baby – about toddler aged. And the "bring me my baby" at the end, Grandpa Joe had this leather chair that he would sit in and he'd ask Grandma Virginia to "bring me my baby (me)." I just think that the fanfic world needs the cutest fluffiest story about Perry's love for his daughter.
