Jason, Sephie, Luke and Clarisse had all surfaced in the middle of the bay after stepping on the pearls that Hermes gave Sephie in the middle of Hades's throne room. The coast guard had picked them up and dropped them off at the Santa Monica Pier.

They gave the four kids a towel, a hoodie and a water bottle that all said "I'm a Junior Coast Guard" on each of the towels, hoodies and bottles. Like that was going to lighten their moods. Sephie just left her beloved grandmother in the underworld with Pluto.

The coast guard went back out as they were too busy with distress calls from other boats and ships because of the storm to wonder why four preteen kids in street clothes were doing almost a mile off shore and in a storm.

Sephie made herself wet to be sure she didn't raise suspicion with the mortals. A trick she picked up from her stepmother and her half brother. As the four walked to the road, Sephie, Luke and Jason could feel Clarisse's anger surging.

"I can't believe it." Clarisse said angrily, "We went all that way—"

"It was a trick to get the bag into Tartarus and to Saturn," Sephie said. "A strategy worthy of Minerva."

"You got that right." Luke said

For Luke and Clarisse it wasn't strange to hear Sephie blurt out Roman names of the gods or saying phrases and other things in Latin. On this whole trip the past few days Sephie would talk or rather cursed in Latin when she thought no one was looking or in hearing range.

"What in the name of my father is going on? Why was I taken by Pluto and dragged down to the underworld?" Jason asked

Clarisse and Luke didn't know how to answer. But Sephie did as she was still blaming the daughter of Athena. For the few hours that Sephie had spent with her, there was no grounds for friendship.

"Well here's the thing. A blonde bimbo by the name of Annabeth Chase at Camp Half Blood took Pluto's helm of darkness and your father's master bolt. She wanted us to get them to Saturn so he could make his return and have us killed." Sephie said

This shocked Jason a lot. He still had nightmares about what the bastard had said to him a couple of years ago. And it was no secret that Hazel had the same nightmares as Jason and went to Sephie for comfort when she had them.

"Sorry that you had to choose between me and grandma back there. I know you love her more than you do me." Jason whispered

He kept it short and sweet knowing that his girlfriend didn't really want to talk about her missing grandmother. He knew that Maria was more important to the Jackson girls than he was. Sephie quickly kissed Jason on the lips as a thank you.

The four were about to leave when they saw him waiting patiently on the beach. He was all decked out in his black leather duster and sunglasses. A aluminum baseball bat propped on his broad shoulder. His motorcycle rumbled beside him with its headlight turning the sand red.

"Hey kid." Ares said, seeming genuinely pleased, or was it surprise, to see Sephie walking nearby. "You were supposed to die down there."

"You tricked us." Sephie said as she grit her teeth. "You were the one who stole the helm of darkness from Pluto and the master bolt from your father."

Ares grinned evilly. This made everyone shiver in fear.

"Well, now, I didn't steal them personally. Gods taking each other's symbols of power — that's a big no-no up there. But you're not the only hero in the world who can run errands."

"So, father, you do admit to having that daughter of Athena, Annabeth Chase's help with stealing grandfather's master lightening bolt and Lord Hades's helm of darkness?" Clarisse asked

"Yes, I admit that I had help from a demigod. But no, the Chase girl wasn't the helping me getting both the helm and bolt. It was a son of Nemesis, by the name of Ethan Nakamura who was left in the Hermes cabin. And it was also under grandfather's orders." Ares said as he looked to Sephie and Jason

This made Jason's and Sephie's eyes go wide with fear. Jason then ran off to tell the senate about what he just heard from the gods' mouth. They needed to know who was trying to get Saturn to come back. Sephie then pulled out her sword, riptide and pointed it to the war god.

Ready to fight the god of war in front of her. Because from what both Clarisse and Frank said, Ares/Mars was like a very dangerous combination of Bane's strength and the Joker mindless insanity, both from the DC Comics, and was always looking for a fight that he thinks he could win real easily.

But then Ares snapped his meaty sausage like fingers and the sand between him and the kids seemed to explode at his feet. Then this wild boar, even larger and uglier than the one that hung above the Ares cabin, charged out of the dust and ran towards the three kids. Ares commanded the thing to kill Sephie.

The three teenagers ran away from the sand boar. Luke and Clarisse both knew it was after their part Roman friend but that didn't matter. There was no use distracting Ares because he could control the boar subconsciously. They needed a plan to fight both Ares and the boar.

Sephie ran into the surf. She needed the strength and there was no fire anywhere near her. The moonlight gave her some strength, but not enough to fight Ares. It only gave her enough strength to fight Clarisse and a couple of her siblings and win.

Ares knew Sephie grew up fighting. She learned how to from his best Roman children and her mother. Sephie learned her technique from Jason. Being a big three child had some difficulties, so they had to learn defensive sometimes killer fighting.

Sephie then made a wave appear out of nowhere and made it go after the boar Ares made and destroyed it with one more demonic squeal. Sephie then turned to Ares. There was a defiant look in her eyes.

"Are you going to fight me now you Bastardis?" Sephie yelled asked Ares, "Or are you going to hide behind another pet pig named bacon? Because I already defeated sausage."

Ares's face was now purple with rage. He had heard from his father and Hades that Sephie Jackson loved taunting the gods. He just didn't know that it was this bad.

"Watch it kid. I could turn into…" Ares started but Sephie interrupted him

"What? A cockroach?" Sephie said, "Or was it a tapeworm? Yeah, I'm sure. That'd save you from getting your godly butt kicked, wouldn't it?"

Flames danced along the top of the gods sunglasses.

"Oh man, you are really asking to be smashed into a grease spot." Ares said

"If I lose, turn me into anything you want. Take the bolt. If I win the bolt is mine and you have to go away." Sephie said

Ares sneered at Sephie. He swung the baseball bat off his shoulder.

"How would you like to get smashed: classic or modern?" Ares asked

Sephie swung her sword to the god of war in defiance. This only angered the red eyed god even more then before.

"Classic it is then. My favorite." Ares said

Ares's aluminum baseball bat soon changed into this huge two-handed double sided sword. The hilt was a large silver skull with a red rubies in its mouth and eyes. To the untrained eye, the swords would be intimidating.

"Sephie," Luke yelled to his friend. "Please don't do this. He's a god. He could kill you with a snap of his fingers."

But Sephie just growled at what Luke had told her. She wasn't about to turn down a fight even if her life depended on it. Sephie and Ares began to fight that looked like an intricate dance to new fighters. She never left the surf and dragging Ares into it as well slowing him down.

See, when a god goes into another gods domain, they get sluggish. Well, except for war. No god or demigod gets sluggish during a war, Athena made sure of that. Everyone needed to be battle ready, especially the demigods as they do most of the fighting.

And that was why every demigod had ADHD from the moment they were born. Survival and doing their family's bidding. The ADHD was a problem for 85% of the Romans as well.

That's why Sephie's was worse then the other Greeks. They all knew Sephie was a demigod legacy. But they knew the demigod legacy combination like Sephie was rare.

Sephie was a first gen Roman legacy and a Greek demigod. But dyslexia was basically non existent for the daughter of Poseidon like it was for 80% of Camp Jupiter. Sephie could still read, write and understand Ancient Greek and Latin like everyone else, but she didn't have trouble reading and writing English like mortals.

This would make everyone at Camp Half Blood jealous once they found out. Soon the cops showed up.

"Sephie!" Luke yelled, "Cops!"

Sephie was seeing double. Her chest felt as if it had just been hit with a battering ram, but she managed to stay on her feet. She couldn't look away from Ares for fear he'd slice her in half, but out of the corner of her eye Sephie saw red light flashing on the shoreline boulevard. Car doors were slamming all around.

The cops looked to Ares. Their eyes widened with fear. They saw weapons, but not the ones they were carrying. Because of the mist they saw something else.

"Shit! That guy's arm!" A cop practically yelled, "Call for back up."

Ares then became even more angry then before. The mortal police were interfering with his plans.

"Admit it kid," Ares yelled as he gave a evil smile. "You got no hope. I'm just toying with you now."

Sephie tightened her grip on her sword. Luke and Clarisse followed suit. They were worried about what the god, who was driven by blood lust, would do. They saw the very reason why Athena was more respected out of the war gods.

Then the voices of the cops rang out.

"Drop the guns! Set them on the ground! Now!" The police said over on the megaphone

Sephie was confused for a second then her eye fluttered to Ares's hands. The sword in his hand and dagger at his hip flashed to a rifle and pistol. Sephie's own weapon turned itself into a pen to be hidden.

Sephie's trident necklace and her spear/batons bracelets started buzzing with the threat and danger that were emerging.

Sephie looked out onto the crowd. Satyrs who were in the area were watching, some were from Camp Jupiter. Spirits from the underworld were also watching for their lord for a precaution as were the furries.

Four more police car were nearby now. All of them had their pistols out and were heading towards Ares. They thought that he had kidnapped Sephie and her friends. This made the god angry.

"This is a privet matter!" Ares bellowed, "Be gone!"

Ares swept his meaty hand towards the mortals and a wall of red flame rolled across the patrol cars. The police barely had time to dive for cover before their vehicles had exploded. The crowd, including the satyrs, scarred in fear. Ares laughed at this.

"Now little hero. Let's add you to the barbecue." Ares said

Sephie and Ares continued to fight. Sephie used her powers to her advantage. Each time Sephie hit Ares, the god muttered a curse in Ancient Greek. Ichor flowed from a gash on his leg into his boot.
