Now this one is written from a very specific memory of the Grandfather who's been a father to me. I won't get into the specifics but this is another sentimental chapter and I hope you enjoy.

Della, Kassi, and Perry had gone up to the Smokies to visit Amy Street, Della's Aunt from her Dad's side, in her very ornate log cabin.

Kassi was 7 years old and it was her first trip to see her Great Aunt Amy, as work always got the better of her parents when Amy called to have them come up to the cabin.

It was around 6 am when Perry crept into Kassi's room, carrying her favorite fuzzy blanket, as he peeled her comforter away from her and replaced it with the blanket as she mumbled sleepily against Perry's chest,

"Daddy… Lemme sleep."

Perry smiled as he walked out to the back deck as they settled on a rocker as Kassi slowly woke up.

Kassi was the spitting image of her Father, but she had her mother's eyes, patience, smile and all the qualities that Perry loved of Della that whenever Della wasn't around and it was just him and Kassi. He was beyond content.

Kassi shivered a little bit in the cool morning air as Perry held her close, lucky for them it was the clearest morning they've had since arriving.

You could see for miles and it was so pretty with all the evergreens and hearing the birds happily singing their good mornings to one another. The scent of the evergreens mixed with a fire going in the fireplace was intoxicating.

For everyone except for Della, as it only spurred her morning sickness. She was pregnant again.

It wasn't like her and Perry had intentionally tried for either child, Kassi or the new baby.

Irrespective of that line of thought, Perry and Della were overjoyed when Della came back to suite 904 from the doctor's with the news,

"So, what'd the doctor have to say?"

Perry asked as Della beamed that same smile when she found out about Kassi as Perry connected the dots as he twirled her yet again.

"Kassi's going to be a sister, Perry. I'm pregnant."

They kissed passionately when Paul gave his signature knock as Della opened the door,

"Hi, beautiful. Hello, Perry."

Perry and Della looked at each other as Della couldn't keep the news to herself,

"You're going to be an Uncle again, Paul."

Paul smiled brightly and hugged his best friends before relaying what he found and leaving.

Perry smiled at the memory as Kassi moved a little bit, waking up a little bit more.

"Hey, Kassi. Daddy's got something to tell you."

Perry said gently as Kassi moaned softly as Perry continued,

"Now, you know that Mama and I love you very much. Lately, I've noticed that you've been worrying about Mama."

Kassi nodded,

"Is she going to die? She's been super sick lately."

Perry chuckled; he knew it was time to tell Kassi about the baby.

"Mama's not going to die, in fact, something even better is going to happen come Christmas. You're getting a baby brother or baby sister, Mama's pregnant."

Kassi looked up as her eyes lit up in happiness as Perry smiled before continuing again,

"But that doesn't mean that we'll love you any less. This just means we get to love you more. And since you've been super helpful at school, we know that you'll be beyond helpful with your brother or sister."

Della had just finished a bout of morning sickness when she walked downstairs and saw her husband and daughter sitting on the porch as she smiled softly,

I lucked out big time. Thank you, God for bringing me Perry and giving us our wonderful daughter Kassi.

Once the rest of the family woke up and the pregnancy was announced, everything was alright with the world.
