Trigger warnings: mentions of blood and death.
——————————————
Ochako was running, running through the darkest corridor she had ever seen. Her vision consisted of nothing but the colour black, the only way she knew she hadn't gone blind was because of the fact that she could make out a blurry outline of what her surroundings look like.
She didn't know why she was running or who she was running from, all she knew that she couldn't stop. If she did... well she didn't want to know what would happen. Her heart was thumping fast against her chest, she was out of breath and her body was aching. She wanted to stop.
Suddenly, her feet tangled up with each other and she face planted on the ground. Breathing heavily, Ochako immediately looked back and could feel someone or something get closer.
Fear bubbled inside of her, biting her lower lip to prevent herself from bursting into tears like a child Ochako forced her leaden body to move.
Once again, she ran as fast as she could hoping to escape from whatever was following her. Looking ahead ochako felt hope ignite inside her, there was light at the end of the tunnel, she could make it out of here. So she urged herself to go faster. The light got closer and closer and than it engulfed her.
Ochako blinked hard and allowed her eyes to adjust to the bright light, there was a railing right in front of her and beyond it was an endless sea of red.
Ochako ran toward the railing hoping to get a better view but than wished she hadn't, because what she saw made her want to vomit. Bodies littering in what looked like an arena.
Her eyes widened her legs trembled: her friends ,family all lying dead on the floor eagle spread with lifeless eyes .Each of their bodies were brutally scared yet they had retained their distinguishing features for her to identify the bodies of her fallen comrades. Her eyes trailed the ground in despair as she muttered the names of the people she recognised :
"Mom...
...Dad...
...Kota-kun...
...Eri-chan...
...Bakugou...
...De-deku-kun"
Ochako leaned against the railing as she felt her knees buckle. She heard a slight noise from behind her, She turned around knowing something was going to appear from the gateway, she knew that she should run but she was paralysed. Suddenly everything became dark and she felt herself fall as she heard laughter and a cruel voice echoed:
"Your next!"
"Gahhh" Ochako let out a terrified gasp as she threw the cloth over her away as if fearful it would harm her. She was breathing heavily, her heart was pumping so hard that she felt it beating in her ears. Her vision was blurry due to the amount of tears that were gathered up in her eyes.
Ochako blinked and felt the cold tears run down her cheeks tickling her in the process. She brought her trembling hands to wipe the tears away. However as soon as her hands touched her face she immediately pulled them back.
'What..?'
Ochako stared at her hands in disbelief, they were so...clean. No scar, blister, bruise or bandage could be seen and it frightened her.
Ochako looked around the room, it was so familiar, it felt nostalgic. Maybe she was brought to a new hideout..? She wasn't sure. Ochako decided that she would solve one mystery at a time so she went back to stare at her newly healed hands.
'Did Eri use her quirk or maybe Katsuma...? But I forbade them to use their quirks for such trivial things so... how did this happen..?'
Ochako gently turned her hands to examine the miracle that had happened, as she did she found another thing to be surprised off, the small pads on her fingers had returned.
Ochakos lips parted in shock.
'dose this...would this mean that my quirk...'
In the battle against One For All, the League Of Villains had used the quirk cancelling bullets and Ochako had been the one of the few unfortunate people to have been shot, it was one of the few things Toga had regretted doing despite Ochako having forgiven her.
She had wanted Eri to use her quirk to heal her but during that time Eri had been emotionally unstable since they had lost both Deku and Mirio in that battle. It had been a major loss and by the time Eri was back to normal not only had Ochaco gotten use to the life style, she had no intentions of being rewinded back two years.
'Well only one way to find out?' Ochako thought as she shakily stood up.
She felt slightly dizzy as she made her way to the desk which hosted a lamp. Taking a deep breath Ochaco gently touched the the lamp, as she did a light pink glow emitted from her touch and she observed in renewed wonder as the lamp lifted of the desk and began to float in the mid summer air.
Ochako stared at her hands and watched as a few tears fell on them. Ochako let out a shaky laugh as she wrapped her arms around herself making sure that her thumbs were raised so she wouldn't accidentally use her quirk on herself.
She stood there for a while, eyes closed as she calmed herself. Ochako smiled the first genuine smile in a long time, yet the universe seems to hate her because just as the smile came it left as her eyes fell on a notebook laying on the desk.
Shock and disbelief flooded her senses as she realised what that notebook was. It was her diary!
It-it couldn't be she remembered it as clear as day, her house had burn up in flames along with everything she owned. Ochako looked around once more and she felt her heartbeat slow down. This was her room! Her room! The one she had, when she lived with her parents! ...Her parents!
The dream flashed before her eyes and Ochaco backed away from the desk yet tripped as she did so. She closed her eyes and waited for the impact to come, but instead she felt a familiar power coarse through her body and felt slightly nauseous. She opened her eyes and found her self floating in the air.
She sighed in relief, she moved her arms and legs as if swimming, and moved towards the cupboard. She used the handle to bring herself slightly close to the ground.
Ochako slipped her wrist through the handle and joined her finger tips together and muttered the most nostalgic word, "release."
She winced heavily as the lamp fell with her. She had forgotten about that. Almost as if knowing she wasn't alone Ochaco held her breath and listened for any sort of noise. She heard nothing except the slight sounds of the crickets and sighed thankfully.
Once again Ochako took in a deep breath, she closed her eyes and held her cheek between her index finger and thumb. She pinched her cheek as hard as possible.
"Ow ow ow ouch" She hissed in pain.
"Check 'this is a dream' off the list" she said out loud to no one as she rubbed her cheek which she noticed felt more fuller than before.
'What is happening?' She questioned herself ,"huh?" Ochako gasped as she heard and saw something move outside the window.
'Is it a thief or a stalker?' Her paranoia was getting to her, she knew it. Cautiously ochako approached the window; she had the lamp in hand ready to attack. Ochako opened the window and thrust the lamp outside, if there was anyone trying to harm her they would most likely posses a weapon and would use it the minute she looked out the window, she had learnt that the hard way.
"Meow" ochako almost let out a scream yet forced her racing heart to settle down as she saw a cat on the tree right in front of her. It had gorgeous white fur with spots of black and goldenish brown splashed over its back. It had mesmerising turquoise blue eyes.
"Hello there." Ochako greeted the cat as if it would reply, "You scared the living daylights out of me! You know that?"
"Meow!" It meowed again. Suddenly a bright light flashed across its eyes. Ochakos eyes widened a fraction as she tilted her head to look up at the sky.
One, than two and suddenly more than a thousand shooting stars shot across the sky. The scene was nothing more than out of a movie. Ochako barely registered that the cat had disappeared.
*
Ochako stared up at the sky which seemed dim without the thousand lights flashing across it.
"Wow" there were no other words, to describe the dazzling scene she had witnessed. Not only was she blessed with this memorable moment but she was also reminded of why and where she was.
"Thank you angel!" Ochako said staring up at the sky hoping that the woman would hear her. With a content look Ochako re-entered the room.
If she was back than that meant that her parents would still be alive. Right?
Filling herself with courage Ochako bravely slid the door open, wincing slightly as it creaked. She made sure to be as slow as humanly possible. Her parents room was a room away from hers so it wasn't much of a walk.
The minutes crept by like seconds and despite her deliberately slowing her pace she stood in front of the door. Gulping she slid it open only slightly so she could see inside and she wasn't disappointed.
There they were, her parents sleeping soundly as if nothing could harm them. As usual dad had thrown off the blanket and had his limbs spread out,her mother mother as usual looked so graceful next to him.
"Your next!"
The voice rang in Ochakos ears scaring her She looked behind her but there was no one.
"You seriously think they'll forgive you! After what you did!" The voice taunted her.
Ochako crouched down and placed her hand firmly on her ears trying to prevent the noise from reaching her ears, tears sprung forth from her eyes as she felt the truth of those words.
"To them your nothing but.." "Ochako?"
Ochako gasped, that voice how could she forget it. Ochako looked up and saw her mother looking at her with a concerned face. "What are you doing here this late? Are you okay?"
Ochako breathed, 'one, two, three...' she looked up at her mother again and tried to smile, "j-just a nightmare."
"Nightmare! Are you okay!?" Her mother questioned crouching beside her.
"Yeah-" she got cut off as her mother embraced her. "It's okay you don't have to talk. And if you haven't grown out of it than your always welcomed to sleep beside me. Or if you want space, i'll be happy to help you in anyway i can" her mother comforted her running her fingers through ochakos hair.
'Could anyone ever grow out this love? This unconditional love of a mother?' Ochako questioned herself.
"If its not a bother-" "Honey you are never a bother."
And with those words ochako found herself being welcomed to the past with the most kind and comforting arms she could ever imagine.
