The Mason house was buzzing with excitement.

It wasn't just because of Christmas; they were about to become a family of four around Christmas Day.

Della and Perry were so happy with how excited and helpful Kassi was over her Mama's pregnancy, with her excitedly chattering about baby Charlie.

"Hey, Kassi go help Daddy decorate the tree."

Della instructed as her mother and Aunt Amy helped her make some lunch as Kassi giggled walking to her father as Perry smiled,

"Did Mama send you to help?"

Kassi nodded as Della's uncle and father began to string lights on the tree as Perry and Kassi put a Christmas record on.

"Has Kassi always called the baby 'Charlie'?"

Amy asked as Della chuckled with a nod,

"It's not the worst nickname, in fact if it's a boy, we were thinking of Charles. If it's a girl, Charlotte because that's the most likely name for a girl if her nickname is Charlie."

Della's mother smiled,

"Are you at all nervous about sibling jealousy?"

Della shook her head,

"No, with how helpful Kassi's been. It's never been a worry to us."

The women smiled as they heard laughter come from the family room as Kassi and Perry laughed while dancing to a Christmas song as Della walked to the door as she smiled sweetly.

Perry and Kassi loved each other so much.

As much as Della loved her father.

Christmas came and went.

Still no sign that baby Charlie was ready to budge, until 11 pm of the 26th.

"Perry. Wake Aunt Amy and my Mother up. It's time."

Della shook her husband awake when the first stronger contraction hit, she'd been in quiet labor all day.

Once the women were woken up and Kassi had stumbled into the living room,

"…Mama?"

Della smiled and motioned Kassi towards her,

"In a few days, I'll be home with baby Charlie."

Kassi smiled and hugged her Mama as tightly as she could before Della got another contraction and when the contraction was over,

"Be a good girl for Daddy, OK?"

Kassi nodded as she sat next to Perry as he cuddled her as she fell back to sleep as Della and Perry kissed before Della went to the hospital.

A few hours later at the Mason household,

"Morning, beautiful!"

Paul chortled as he woke up Kassi and Perry as Kassi jumped into the private eye's arms. Perry smiled as he sat up as Paul commented,

"Amy called from the hospital, Della's doing just fine. Charlie should be here within the day."

Paul set Kassi down as she began to work on her card for Charlie.

A few hours later, the phone rang as Kassi pined to hear from her Great Aunt Amy,

"Hi, Perry. It's a boy. A nice healthy 9 pounds even. Della and Charles are doing just fine."

Perry smiled and he side hugged Kassi as he handed the phone to her,

"Hi, Great Aunt Amy! Is Mama OK?"

Amy laughed,

"Yes, and you've got a baby brother. Charles Mason."

Kassi giggled,

"How is he?"

Amy smiled,

"Looks exactly like you did when you were born."

Once the phone was hung up, Perry and Kassi sat on the couch and began to talk,

"You were the cutest little thing when you were born, and I don't know if I told you about me needing to have you between Mama's and I pillows or else I wouldn't sleep."

Kassi laughed,

"That's very cute."

Perry snuggled her close as Paul smiled and took a picture.

When Della brought baby Charlie home,

"Oh, Mama he's so precious!"

Kassi cooed as she finally had him in her arms as Charlie slept away feeling safe in his big sister's arms.

Della took a picture of the moment,

That's one for my desk – always.

"I will always love you, Charlie."

Kassi said as Della and Perry teared up happily as the family left leaving the new family of four alone.
