A/N: Hey! Time for another one! My goal for this one is to have every (almost) chapter be greater than 1k words. I don't know how well that will go, but let's hope! This is going to be a PorcoxPieck story. Set in a slight AU where Reiner AND Bertholdt returned from Paradis, and Armin survived unaided by the titan. (His wounds were obviously less severe than the original story.) Also, there is significantly more time in between the invasion of Paradis and the return of the warriors.
The ocean. A vast, unending gale of blue waters. He would never get used to it. The waves gently rocked and crashed against the ship as it came into port, laying out its gangplank and preparing a way for the honored warriors to walk across. Porco Galliard arose first. The Jaw Titan had been out on a mission, the decimation of Fort Slava. They were going to take over the base, but plans changed, and Bertholdt Hoover blew it to atoms with his transformation.
"Ohayo, Pokko." A singy-songy voice gently engulfed his ears as he stepped towards the exit of the ship. Porco turned slowly, locking eye contact with the raven-haired woman herself. Pieck Finger, the Cart titan, and his best friend. While he shared tight bonds with his comrades, he was particularly close to her.
"Ladies first, Pieck." Porco gestured his hands towards the start of the gangplank. Pieck waltzed next to him, her eyes gray and glazed, as per usual. He rarely ever saw them come alive, and wished he could find her in her happy place more often. Porco stepped over towards his childhood friend, and offered forth his hand to help her onto the rough walkway.
"What a gentleman you are, Pokko." Pieck smiled at him, beaming with joy after calling him the nickname she knew full well that he hated. But it was okay when she said it. Only when she said it, though. "We should really be going. The suns already going down, and we really should get to our rooms quickly." Pieck wasn't much of a social butterfly, but she enjoyed the company of small groups of friends, mostly Porco or Reiner. She didn't have many female friends, as she was constantly enthralled with her obsessive career, being the Cart Titan. A flesh tank was no easy task to uphold, yet she was up for it.
"I try my best to put on a nice display for you every once in a while." Porco spoke sarcastically as he walked down the gangplank with her. The yells and screams of the people awaiting them on the harbor wall assaulted their ears as they placed their feet onto the ground at last.
Pieck tightened her grip on Porco's arm as they walked through the small pathway, surrounded on both sides by guards. The mass of people pushed against the guards, eventually breaking through and trying to get closer to Porco and Pieck. The pair hastened as they clambered into a small but efficient vehicle, which drove away as quickly as it could.
Pieck sighed as she looked out the rear window, raising her arms to rest behind her head. "I just want to go home." Porco looked at her and smiled.
"That's where we're going, right now." Pieck smiled at him and his words, and she leaned over and rested her head on his shoulder. She was exhausted. While the cart was famous for its stamina, it left the human form indomitably tired afterwards. Porco held back a gasp, and felt himself engulfed in Pieck's delectable aroma. Scents of artisan citrus and cherry blossoms surrounded him.
Pieck's breathing slowed, and she drifted off into sleep. Her body went limp against Galliard, and her gentle snoring brought a light smile to Porco's face.
The car rounded the corner, turning into the Warrior's compound. The driver stopped, and opened the door for the pair. Porco wrapped his arms around Pieck, picking her up bridal style and stepping out of the car. He made sure to cradle her neck and hips in his arms. She was surprisingly light, and looked so perfect, asleep in his arms. The Jaw slowly walked into the main base, and began to climb up the stairs. Pieck stirred, and slowly came to.
"Pokko?" Pieck looked around as Porco carried her up the stairs. "Did you carry me all the way here?" They reached the stop of the stairs, and Galliard continued walking towards Pieck's apartment.
"You looked so peaceful sleeping. I wouldn't dare wake you." Porco smiled as he stopped in front of her door. "Can you stand?" Pieck gently lowered her legs to the ground and stood, shakily at first.
"Yeah, I can. Thank you, Pokko." Pieck began to unlock her door, and Porco turned to walk to his room. "Pokko?"
"Yea-" Porco was cut off by a light peck on the cheek, Pieck's lips barely grazing him. She giggled and ran back into her room, quickly closing the door behind her. Porco stood there in amazement as he watched the door close, and his jaw dropped. His eyes were as wide as they could be, and he was so dumbfounded that he couldn't move.
It took him a little, but he came back to reality, a smile stealing across his face as he began to gander back to his apartment. His walk was a skip, a happiness in his step, knowing that the most beautiful girl in the world had just kissed him on the cheek. But he wouldn't stop there, no. He was not content just yet. He had been enthralled with his comrade for nearly as long as he knew her, and he could barely stand bis excitement as he entered his apartment.
Chapter 1 complete! I hope you all enjoyed it, and I did make it over 1k words on this one. Hopefully we can keep that up, and let's see how well this story goes!
