Part 2: Afternoon Session
After lunch, Sonic continued touring his friends in the mansion, and he and the group were now on the second floor. Knuckles and Shadow decided to tag along. They're now on their way to their next destination; the music room.
But first, they encountered Solo walking in the same hallway as them.
"Oh, hey, Sol!" Sonic called him by nickname.
"Hey, Sonic." Solo greeted back. "I see that you brought your friends in here."
"He's giving us a tour!" Cream chirped. "Would you like to come along, mister…?"
"Solo."
"Right. Mr. Solo, would you like to come along?" Cream repeated.
"Sure, why not? The more, the merrier as people say."
"Yeah, he's our friend after all." Eleven addressed to Arusu and Eight.
"That would be nice." Blaze smiled.
The group then continued walking and finally reached the music room.
"This is the music room. Like its namesake, it is filled with various musical instruments. Whoever has a talent of music will sure come to this room and play." Sonic spoke, and he and the others heard a piece of melodious music.
They turned to see Corrina playing on the piano, with her counterpart, Corrin. They were playing music taught by their friend back in their universe. Everyone watched the duo in awe while the sweet melody rings in their ears.
After the two ended their song, the group gave them applause, catching them off guard.
"Oh, Gods! You startled us." Corrina gasped.
"Heh, sorry. We didn't mean to alarm you." Sonic chuckled. "We're just here for a tour."
"You have an amazing talent." Silver awed. "What song were you playing?"
"We're playing the one that our friend, Azura, usually sings. I believe it was titled 'Lost in Thoughts, All Alone." Corrin replied.
"We can't just sing it ourselves. It's a special song with magical abilities when it is sung by a member of Vallite royalty and the singer wears a special pendant." Corrina explained. "So far, Azura and her son are the only known members who can sing this song."
"However, it is dangerous if the song was sung too much." Corrin continued for Corrina. "Either the singer will get hurt, or even worse, pass away."
The group had worried expressions on their faces.
"But since we aren't members of the Vallite royalty, we should be fine." Corrin assured, as the group sighed in relief.
"I didn't know that a song can be that magical." Jewel spoke. "Not to mention it is also dangerous."
"By the way, who's that man beside you, Corrina?" Belle asked.
"Oh, this is Corrin, my… counterpart." Corrina replied.
"Like Robin and Robinette, they came from their universes parallel to each other." Sephiroth explained for the half-dragoness.
"But now we refer to each other as twins." Corrin spoke.
"Seems like it, cause you look like each other." Silver mused.
"So, how do you guys fight?" Tangle asked.
"We fight with our swords and our dragon abilities." Corrina answered.
The group (except Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Sephiroth, and the Heroes) were bewildered to hear Corrina's reply, well, about using the dragon abilities part to be specific.
"You were guys dragons?" Amy asked.
"Half-dragons to be precise." Corrin spoke.
"By the way, we should get going." Sonic said. "We still have more places to go. See you guys later." The group then waved goodbye at the half-dragons and exited the room.
Their next destination was the children's room, where they find Byleth and Bereth (male Byleth) telling a story to the children. Those children are being Kirby, Ness, Lucas, Young Link, Toon Link, Popo, Nana, the Villagers, Bowser Jr., the Koopalings, and the Inklings.
"Wow, that's a lot of children here." Rouge spoke.
The female professor notices the group and speaks: "Oh, seems we have some visitors."
The children then turn their gaze to the group.
"Hey, professor." Sonic greeted. "Sorry for the interruption, but I'm giving my friends a tour."
"It's fine." Bereth said. "We don't mind."
"Everyone, here we have the Children's Room, where children reside and play games with their playmates, and sometimes, someone will come to this room and do some storytelling, like what professors Byleth and Bereth were doing." Sonic explained. "But also, sometimes, those professors can teach these kids some lessons like they were in a school. Isn't that right, professors?"
"Indeed." Byleth replied.
"Look at that pink puffball." Cream gushed when she looked at Kirby. "He's so cute!"
"Chao!" Cheese chirped
"Aw, you're right." Amy said in awe.
They both got Kirby's attention as he stood up and went closer to the two.
"Hi~!" Kirby greeted.
The two girls squealed in excitement due to how cute the creature is.
"Oh, what an adorable creature." Rouge mused.
"Indeed." Eight spoke. "He's the cutest creature here in Smash, and no one can stand his adorableness."
"Yeah. No one can keep their eyes off the little guy." Knuckles added.
"Seems like you made new friends, Kirby." Sonic chuckled. "But we have a tour going on. You can play with them later."
Kirby nods as he went back to his place and the group exited the room, hearing the professors continue their storytelling.
"Aw, I get to meet one of the cutest Smashers here." Cream spoke in awe.
"He sure is a cute one." Arusu agreed. "But when on the battlefield, you better not underestimate him."
"He's a formidable foe, and I got beaten by him once." Solo spoke.
"Right. Even though you were battling against a child, that doesn't mean you can win that battle." Sephiroth added.
"Even children can be heroes too." Eleven said. "That's why Master Hand chose some noble children here to test their courage."
"Well, I heard that Cream tried to be heroic once." Sonic recalled. "Although she hates fighting, she'll do her best to protect their friends."
"That's right!" Cream spoke proudly.
"Chao!" Cheese chirped while doing some fighting moves, leading the group to share chuckles and giggles.
"Cute rabbit does awesome things." Big mused. "Like flying with her ears."
"Is that so? Then would you mind showing us, Cream?" Eight spoke with a little bit of excitement.
Cream accepted the hero's request, as she began flapping her long ears to fly. The Heroes were amazed.
"I can do the same thing, but I use my tails to fly." Tails mused as he began propelling his tails to fly.
"Alright, enough with the demonstration." Sonic chuckled "Let's get back to—"
Sonic was cut off when someone suddenly bumps into him. Papers were scattered around the place.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there with these papers!" Isabelle exclaimed as she began picking up the papers.
"Whoa… That's a lot of paperwork." Amy sweat-dropped.
"Um, would you mind helping me here?" Isabelle distressfully asked.
"Oh, no problem. Organizing is what I do best." Jewel complied.
The group then began helping the dog gather all the papers. While they were gathering, the Heroes (except Eleven) were surprised to see Tangle using her tail to pick up the papers.
"How is she doing that?" Arusu asked.
"Eleven and I were bewildered as you when we saw her do that." Sephiroth spoke.
"Yeah, when I saw her fighting the robots, her tail stretches at an incredible length." Eleven added.
"It's Tangle's unique trait." Whisper spoke in her soft voice, but loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Well, it's fine." Solo assured. "Besides, we have a fighter whose arms can extend like that."
"Fair point." Eight agreed.
Belle got curious as she began looking at the papers. "What are these?"
This got the group's attention, as they took a little peek at the papers.
Belle continues reading the papers, and they contained profiles of unfamiliar characters to her.
"Shantae… Bandana Dee… Eevee… Who are these?"
"There's even more." Shadow interfered. "Doomguy, Master Chief, Rayman, Dante…"
"Um… who is Squall Leonhart?" Cream asked as she read the profile from the paper she's holding.
This got Sephiroth's attention as he took a look at the paper the rabbit was reading.
"My old acquaintance." Sephiroth mused.
Eleven was scanning the papers he was holding, until one of them had piqued his interest. One of them seemed familiar to him.
"Claire 'Lightning' Farron." He read the character's name, as a feeling of déjà vu hit him.
Sephiroth turned his attention to the Luminary as he peeks in the paper he's holding, and a sense of familiarization got the best of him.
Everyone seemed confused while looking at the papers they picked up. Containing profiles of unfamiliar characters?
"Huh? What's my profile doing here?" Shadow asked when he sees his profile on one of the papers he holds.
"Wait, that's not all…" Eleven perked as he looks at another paper. "Veronica, Erik, Jade… These are my friends."
"SCANNING…" Omega began to scan the paper he's holding. "E-123 OMEGA CONFIRMED IN THIS PAPER."
Rouge perked her ears. "What'd you see?" She then peeks in Omega's paper.
The paper contained, indeed, E-123 Omega's profile. His past, his abilities, and many more.
"Hey, look, Tails! This one has your name on it!" Tangle then shows the paper containing Tails' profile to the two-tailed fox.
"Strange… What even are these?" Tails then shifts his attention back to the paper he'd picked up. "Party mode… Sports mode… This is so confusing…"
The papers even contain profiles of some of the Smasher's friends and even some modes like Tails mentioned.
"I don't know what are these…" Jewel said.
"So, tell us, Isa. What are these papers?" Sonic asked the dog.
"Oh, these are Master Hand's plans for the future tournaments." Isabelle replied.
"So, you're saying that Master Hand was planning to add more fighters?" Knuckles summed up, earning a nod from the Shih Tzu.
Then it hit them. These papers contained the profiles of the future fighters.
"So that explains why there are so many." Solo mused.
"And I guess these papers are the new features. Then it'll be more than just fighting in this tournament." Tails added.
"Aww, poor Waluigi." Amy spoke in sympathy as she read the profile of a certain purple lanky plumber. "I heard that he was so desperate to be here in Smash, as an actual fighter."
"From what I heard, Waluigi's been an assistant for the past 2 tournaments including now." Eight recalled.
"Yeah. Sports, Olympic Games and Party are as far as he goes." Sonic agreed, feeling sorry for Waluigi.
"Silver, can you hold these papers for me? They seemed important, and I don't want to unintentionally lit them in flames." Blaze requested.
Silver immediately complied as he psychokinetically holds the papers Blaze was holding, then he turns to Isabelle. "Where are you bringing these papers?"
"I'm bringing them to Master Hand's office." Isabelle replied, as everyone finished picking up all the papers.
"Oh, good. That's our next destination." Sonic spoke. "Please lead the way, Isa."
"Okay, follow me, everyone!" Isabelle then walks down the hallway, and the others followed suit. "And by the way, thanks for helping me with all these papers."
"We're just happy to help… uh, I haven't caught your name. I'm Amy Rose by the way." Amy spoke.
"Isabelle." The dog said. "Nice to meet you, Ms. Rose."
"Oh, she even speaks politely like me." Cream chimed. "I'm Cream, and this is Cheese. Nice to meet you, Ms. Isabelle."
"Chao!" Cheese chirped.
"Nice meeting you too, Cream and Cheese." Isabelle giggled.
After the introductions, they reached Master Hand's office. As they opened the doors, Master Hand was there along with his twin brother, Crazy Hand.
"Ah, well if it isn't Sonic and his friends." Master Hand spoke.
"Sorry for interrupting something, but I'm giving my friends a tour." Sonic said.
"It's okay. We welcome our guests with open arms." Crazy Hand chimed.
"Okay, everyone, this is the office where the Hands work on the mansion's maintenance. Usually, whenever chaos ensures, this is the place we need to go."
"Oh, here are the papers, Master Hand." Isabelle then put the papers on Master Hand's table. "Please put them here everyone."
Everyone did as Isabelle instructed.
"You sure must be working hard to expand this tournament." Belle remarked.
"Of course, we do." Master Hand said.
"Well, it's a bit lonely if we don't add some extra fighters." Crazy Hand spoke.
"Are you sure there's a chance that I'll be in this tournament?" Tails asked.
"You do have a high chance of getting into Smash, Tails." Master Hand replied. "You are Sonic's trusty sidekick after all. But we've been working for that."
"You heard that, buddy? You're gonna be a Smasher soon!" Sonic gushed.
"I know!" Tails agreed with joy. "I'll look forward to that."
"Now come on, we have more places to go. See you later, guys."
"Enjoy the tour, everyone." Isabelle waved goodbye as the group exited the office.
"You know, that load of paperwork reminded me of the metal virus outbreak and aftermath." Amy spoke. "It was so stressful handling lots of them."
"What's a metal virus?" Eleven asked curiously.
"It's best if you don't know." Sephiroth said.
"This is the Art Room. Fighters who have a hobby of drawing and painting will surely come to this room and do their art stuff." Sonic said while the group entered the Art Room.
Then, they see Vince and to Sonic's surprise, Ren painting on their canvases.
"Hey, Vince! How's it going?" Sonic greeted. "And Ren! I didn't know you have a good taste of art."
"A friend of mine taught me a thing or two." Ren replied.
"Everyone, that's Ren. He's my roommate." Sonic explained. "And that's Vince, one of the assistants."
Vince waved at the group.
"Hello, everyone. You all must be Sonic's friends?" Ren greeted, then all of Sonic's friends introduced themselves. "It's nice to meet you all."
"Nice to meet you too, Mr. Ren." Cream greeted back. "You know, drawing is my favorite thing when I'm indoors."
"Chao!"
Ren smiled on Cream's statement.
"Now let's get going, guys. See you later, Ren!" Sonic then leaves with the group.
The group enters in a room under construction.
"This wasn't here before…" Arusu spoke in a confused way.
"What is this place?" Jewel asked.
"This should be the Sports Stadium. It's still in progress though." Sonic replied. "Mario and I were planning an Olympic Games here in Smash, so we requested Master Hand to add this room."
"That explains the sports mode I saw in the papers." Tails mused.
"So, what will this Sports Stadium look like?" Rouge asked.
"It will be going to work as a simulator, just like the Battle Arena." Sonic said. "You get to choose what type of sports you'll be playing, and many more."
"Will there be horse racing in there?" Eleven asked curiously.
"Of course, there will be. We'll include every sport here, even the winter ones."
"Oh, I missed those Olympic Games already." Amy sighed. "Especially when I figure skated with my Sonic."
Sonic blushed when he heard those words from his self-proclaimed girlfriend. However, Eleven had noticed this.
"You okay, Sonic?" Eleven asked.
"I'm fine." Sonic's blush faded as he snapped out. "Now come on."
"Wait, where's the big cat?" Eight spoke.
"Uh, good question. I haven't seen him when we came in this room." Solo added.
Hearing this, everyone in the group sans Solo and Eight noticed that Big was nowhere in sight, again. And they know exactly the reason.
'Not again…' They thought.
"Let's find him already. He must be looking for Froggy again." Sonic said as he went ahead.
"Let's just hope that he doesn't get into trouble again." Blaze added as she and the others followed suit.
In the mansion's garden lake, Froggy was swimming in there. Then, he spotted a certain ninja frog Pokémon meditating on a rock. The amphibian went closer to said Pokémon and made a croak, causing the latter to snap out of his meditation.
"Gren?" Greninja spoke.
Froggy just stares at the Pokémon, who stared back. And then Greninja decided to pick up the amphibian. Froggy made out another croak, making Greninja smile (if he can due to his tongue wrapped around his neck as a scarf).
"Froggy! Where are you?" There came Big's voice from the other side of the lake, and Greninja had spotted him.
Judging by what Big said, Greninja thought that the big cat owns the frog he was holding. So, he jumped off the rock and ran on the water's surface to get on the other side. As he made it ashore, Greninja handed Froggy to Big, much to his delight.
"Froggy." Big cooed while hugging his pet, then he looked at Greninja. "Thanks, ninja frog."
"Greninja." The Pokémon bowed like a ninja and dashed back to the other side of the lake.
"You know, that ninja frog sure is cool." Big remarked. "And I think that you made friends with him, don't you, Froggy? Cause you're a frog, and he's one too."
"Hey, guys! I think I found him." A voice was heard, making Big turn around to see Arusu before the rest of the group arrived.
"Alright, good find, Erdrick!" Sonic thanked.
"Big! Don't you wander off like that again!" Amy scolded. "This mansion is so huge, and getting lost will be a big problem!"
"Sorry, Amy." Big apologized. "Froggy keeps going anywhere."
"I think your frog is probably curious about this place, so we can't blame you for that." Eleven said.
"Oh, speaking of, that ninja frog found him in this lake. He's super cool." Big recalled.
"Ninja frog? Sounds like you've met Greninja while we were looking for you." Sonic recognized.
"There's no doubt that the frog Pokémon would like your pet, Big." Sephiroth guessed.
"Okay, back to the tour." Sonic changed the subject. "This is the Garden, well, part of it, cause what you see right now is the lake."
"Now that you mentioned it, this place is good for fishing." Big spoke.
"Now follow me and I'll show you the other parts of the garden." Sonic then walks off along with the others, but Big just stood there, watching Greninja who had resumed his meditation.
"Hey, Big. You might wanna catch up." Sonic called.
"Okay, I'm coming." Big indeed caught up with the group.
The group then made it into the garden filled with various flowers. There was also a fancy mountain in the middle.
"Wow, this garden is so pretty!" Cream gleamed.
"This is a good place for a picnic." Amy mused.
"You can say that." Eight spoke. "I mean, look over there."
The group then saw Luigi and Princess Daisy having a picnic.
"Aw, they're so sweet." Amy cooed.
"Indeed." Sephiroth agreed.
"I guess that we're all tired of going around the mansion." Sonic spoke. "Let's just take a break here."
Sonic and his friends did rest on various locations in the garden.
Sonic and Amy sat on the fountain.
"I wish I was a Smasher like you." Amy sighed. "That way, we can spend more time together."
"I know." Sonic agreed. "I think the Hands are probably working for that. Probably on the next tournament."
Big went back to the lake for some fishing. Eight was there to keep an eye of him. Froggy and Munchie were playing together.
"Wow, you're really good at fishing, Big." Eight mused.
"Of course. Fishing is my favorite thing." Big said.
Suddenly, Eight gets splashed by a water spray. He turned to see Froggy smiling whilst Munchie giggling.
"Froggy…" Eight playfully scolded, then Froggy spits more water at him. "Hey, cut it out!"
"Froggy can be playful sometimes." Big chuckled.
Tangle, Whisper, and Arusu rested on a nearby tree in the garden. Tangle was hanging on a branch with her tail. Then, a certain flightless angel and his doppelganger approached them.
"Hey, Arusu." Pit greeted. "Uh, who are those with you."
"Oh, you must be his friends!" Tangle blurted. "I'm Tangle the Lemur."
"And this wolf girl here is Whisper." Arusu introduced Whisper to the contrasting angels. The lone wolf made a small wave.
"Hi, I'm Pit." Pit introduced himself. "And this is my friend Pittoo."
"Haven't I told you not to call me that?" Dark Pit irritably spoke.
"Oh, I guess he didn't like what you called him." Tangle spoke.
"Then, what should we call you?" Whisper asked softly.
"Dark Pit." The dark angel simply replied.
"Dark Pit, huh?" Tangle said. 'I think the prefix dark is a bit cliché.'
"Wow, you sure can hang on a tree with your tail, Tangle." Pit said.
"Well, my tail is not only for hanging on trees." Tangle hopped down. "Watch this."
She then stretches her tail reaching to Knuckles, Shadow, and Solo sitting on a bench while having a chat together. Her tail went behind Knuckles and tapped on Solo's shoulder. Before Solo could turn around, Tangle quickly retracted her tail.
"What is it, Knuckles?" Solo asked.
"That wasn't me." Knuckles shook his head.
"Then who? You're the only one on that side." Shadow spoke.
The group shared chuckles (Dark Pit only huffed playfully) while the three on the bench were having confusions.
"That's one way to trick them, Tangle." Pit chimed. "And wow, your tail can stretch in an incredible length."
"Yeah, but don't forget that we also have a fighter with extendable arms." Dark Pit reminded. "And there's also an assistant who shares the same trait."
"By the way, who's this fighter with extendable arms you're talking about?" Tangle curiously asked. "That sea-green haired guy mentioned him or her while we're on our tour."
"Oh, her name is Min Min." Arusu answered. "She can turn her arms into noodle like springs. And the assistant Dark Pit mentioned is Spring Man, who can also turn his arms into literal springs. They both came from the same universe."
"You'll get to meet them later." Pit assured.
Eleven, Sephiroth, Cream, Cheese, Rouge and Omega are on residing on a tree.
"I have a question, Rouge." Eleven spoke. "You know that Dr. Eggman creates various robots. Then why is this robot with you?"
"Well, he is Eggman's creation." Rouge answered. "But Omega holds a grudge against the doctor."
"What did he do to him?"
"He abandoned him… and he wants revenge."
"THAT IS 100% TRUE. I WILL DESTROY EGGMAN." Omega spoke.
"Sounds like he's enraged." Eleven mused.
"Don't worry, Mr. Eleven." Cream assured. "He's on our side now."
"Chao." Cheese chirped.
"And what about Belle? Isn't she a robot too?" Eleven asked.
"From what Sonic told me, she was built by the amnesiac Dr. Eggman." Sephiroth replied. "But no need to worry. She is a helping robot."
"I see…"
Then they saw the children of Smash coming out to play, with the professors leading them.
"Oh, it seems that the children wanted to play outside." Rouge mused.
One of the children approached the group. It was Kirby.
"Hi, Kirby." Cream greeted.
"Hi~" Kirby greeted back.
"You're really cute, you know that." Cream giggled.
"Chao!" Cheese exclaimed happily as he flies around Kirby, making him giggle.
"Oh, would you look at that." Rouge cooed.
"SCANNING: SYSTEM OVERLOAD. KIRBY IS 100% ADORABLE." Omega said.
"Seems like Omega can't resist Kirby's cuteness." Eleven chuckled.
"Even robots can have hearts too." Sephiroth said.
Tails, Silver, Blaze, Jewel and Belle went to talk to the professors.
"Seems like you're very loyal to the children, professors." Tails spoke.
"Indeed." Byleth replied. "They're like students to us."
"And we've been taking care of them ever since we came here." Bereth added.
"Well, they are innocent beings, yet noble enough to be here." Blaze said.
"They are indeed noble. They told me their vast adventures in their homeworlds, and they're such brave children." Byleth said.
"Well, Eleven wasn't kidding about 'even children can be heroes' thing." Silver said.
"Wish I could be that brave…" Belle murmured.
"You can be." Jewel assured. "With enough experience, you should be able to be like them."
"And what is your experience being brave, Jewel?" Bereth asked.
"Well, when Tangle and I were kids, I was protecting her from the dangers due to her recklessness."
"And how reckless is she?"
"Very reckless. She even jumps into a situation without thinking. That's why she's an antithesis of 'look before you leap'."
"I see. Well, I assume that protecting your friend was a noble thing, Jewel."
"Thanks, professor."
They spent the rest of the afternoon chatting with the other Smashers until dinner came.

Author's Note: I made Eleven familiar with some Final Fantasy characters because I heard that he and his companions collaborated in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, just letting you know. And also, I renamed the male Byleth Bereth, because the Japanese translation of male Byleth is Bereto, so I thought I would come up with that.
