"Percy Speaking In Egyptian"
Hello My name is Percy Jackson and also shut up and listen. FIRST, there are gods Greek, Roman, Egyptian you name it. SECOND, I know this because I am currently running from a greek monster and my father is an Egyptian god namely Horus so yes I may know at least some of what I speak of. Now back to both my explanation and running, so yes gods and all that monsters too of every Pantheon you can think of. I've met many of them in my long life From Greek to the Japanese gods but right now I'm running from I think the Nemean Lion. "Oh Come on I came to this side of the country to relax, not have to fight a Giant cat!" I Screeched out as I slowly let my demi-god Powers come forth.
My head changed shape, a Falcons beak growing feathers covering my now Falcon head, my eyesight sharpening even further than before, Wings Unfurled from my back I let loose a deafening scream causing the Lion to back up shaking its head. Reaching into my pocket Dimension I pulled out my Ninjato Its gleaming Edge gleamed as I swung it at the beast in front of me the sharpness of the edge bypassing the Legendary coat of the Nemean Lion to an extent allowing a small gash to open on its leg. Golden blood slowly leaking out of the wound.
The Lion looked down at its leg in shock then back up to me, Its Sudden Roar shook the forest blasting the nearest trees out of the ground. I opened my wings allowing the pressure to throw me skyward 'Well now this seems bad I've never seen the Lion this mad, well am I the son of a war god or what?' With a returning Screech I dove down the air whistling past me I drew my blade close with a flash of blush light I sped up even more and slashed. My blade connected perfectly with where I aimed it. The Throat of the Nemean Lion split open the lion rearing back as its immortal blood poured out. Slowly the thrashing and gurgling of the Lion stilled and I looked at the now dead oversized cat.
I looked into the night sky and let out a scream of victory, my avian vocal cords boosting the sound for miles around, Falcons circled above me joining my sound. The Eye of Horus Burned Brightly above my head as it almost always did whenever I won a great victory. The Lion started to dissolve into a fine golden mist but before it could blow away Horus' eye pulsed and the dust was sucked into the glowing symbol the eye turned from blue to a liquid gold. Then the dust came billowing out a much weaker glow from what it last was. Now you must be confused on why that happened, let me explain then each Pantheon has a special power or gift you could say and also a curse to go along with it. Let me start with the Greeks. They have an almost true immortality with their ability to reform after being killed, The Aztecs before they were slaughtered by the Greeks had the ability to grow more and more powerful with each human sacrifice they were given.
The Romans have pretty much the same power as the Greeks. The Egyptians as one of the older Pantheons have a very special power. When they kill a creature be it mortal or monster or even another deity they steal and copy the greatest power that being has. Their curse on the other hand is the weakness to mortals to the point they can be captured by the very magic users they blessed, oh and the fact they are nearly unable to have children side note as you can tell. The Greeks and Romans have their fatal flaws. Now back to my victory as I am only Half deity I gain a partial reward for giving and sacrificing my kills to my father.
I would gain the chance to use the most powerful ability of the creature I killed for short periods of time, the more I practice with it the longer I can use the power. It's also one of the reasons the Greek and Roman gods never attacked the Egyptian gods, they feared the power they had for if the Egyptians could kill one of them their most powerful ability was their near perfect immortality. Meaning the Egyptians would then have the same power. They were already stronger than the Greeks; they didn't want them to be able to come back after they were killed. A Twang snapped me out of my thoughts, well less of the twng more of the burning pain in one of my wings.
My screech choked out into a cry of pain as I brought my wing forwards in front of my face to see a silver tipped arrow protruding through it. "Now" I growled in a much deeper voice than one would find in my human headed form, "I'm Angry". See I am on friendly terms with Artemis after all I have been alive for nearly 2500 years I have no need for a relationship much less with a normal mortal. So we have an accord I try not to interfere with her hunters. We can stay friendly but right now they shot me. "Now you see you young Girl Scouts Normally you would die for this break of agreement between me and your Patron. But today I made a wonderful kill today and you are letting me test something out and well I don't feel like killing children." I said in a condescending tone.
"Nemea" I said as I felt the power I just gathered from the monster flow through my body. My skin changed from a deep tan to a shining gold. My feathers darker than night against my now shining skin. The moonlight reflecting off my skin, I slowly reached out my hand and reached into the duat and pulled out four little silver figurines. "Guard me" my voice low I spoke in ancient Egyptian. Four Figurines suddenly grew, turning into four Falcon headed warrior wielding poles. They looked to me for instruction "Incapacitate only no deaths I will hold my end of the bargain am I understood" They nodded and ran towards The Hunters of Artemis. Now you may wonder what those warriors are? Well you see when I was born my Father Horus knew I would be in danger from many things he crafted four of his warriors to stand guard over me for as long as they were needed. Now I am at the point I'm not normally in mortal danger but when I wish to incapacitate normal weak Greek Demi-gods and Full Humans, I personally cannot attack them or I will crush them into a, think of a red bean paste.
Why some of you may ask, let me point you back towards when I told you my Pantheon can absorb powers from whatever we kill. If so let me ask you what would happen if over a couple thousand years someone hunted down creatures and being that their strength was what made them special. Because that's what I did now don't get me wrong I can't match Elder gods of any Pantheon but younger ones or one who are fading I can match. Killing them is a different matter and one I will need to eventually do at least if I wish to slide into godhood and break my horrible grandmother's curses.
"What Is Happening, how dare you attack my hunters." a shout echoed through the remnants of the forest around me. "Return To Your Vigil" I spoke as my shabti returned to their metal figurines. "Well Lady Artemis I was attacked by your hunters thus breaking our deal of non-violence. Fortunately for you I didn't notice any senior hunters so I assumed these ones had not been introduced to what I looked like." My voice rumbling through the night My sharp birdlike eyes burrowing into the goddess in front of me. "O-oh Perseus I didn't realise it was you." I stared unimpressed as her face slowly started becoming golden. "So you meet bird headed males regularly. Strange I thought I was the only one around." Her face seemed to flush even brighter gold. "Listen you annoyance of a bird I was just trying to be scary." Her face was still shining, I was about to respond when a loud boom shook the night.
