Chapter 14
A UFO Appears: The Sailor Guardians Abducted
Standing on the dock where Usagi and Mamoru first met her, Chibiusa was now in shock at the revelation of seeing Usagi and her friends turn into the Sailor Guardians. She now knew it to be true, because she had seen their transformation with her own two eyes, even though she had been told to stay out of sight. She soon left in a hurry, unaware that something in the sky was hovering with it's occupant watching her. Rubeus glared darkly at the city from within his ship alongside Hyena R. Droid.
"This time for sure, I will eliminate the rabbit and take the Silver Crystal from this grotesque city," he said.
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of wicked laughter, making him turn around. But he shielded his eyes, until the green light faded away to reveal a woman bearing the same black crescent mark on her forehead. She had light green hair, and light brown eyes. Her attire consisted of a sleeveless black dress with matching gloves and boots, black earrings, and an emerald necklace. In her hand was a red fan that she'd use to wave in front of her face when she was feeling overheated. The woman's name was Esmeraude, and Rubeus was aghast to see her again.
"It's been a while, Rubeus," she said.
She walked up beside him and looked down at the city below her.
"Ah, so this is Tokyo's Juban District in this timeline. I find it quite small and disgusting, don't you? I wonder if it'll be okay staying in such a filthy little village," mused Esmeraude.
"Wait, what is that supposed to mean?" Rubeus asked worriedly.
"Oh no, haven't you heard? Because of your repeated failures, Rubeus, you've been dismissed from your assignment to eliminate the rabbit and seize the Juban District. As of tomorrow, I'll be completely in charge here," replied Esmeraude.
"Oh, well, I must say, I'm starting to like the way Esmeraude thinks, Rubeus," chuckled Hyena,
"Are you out of your mind, Hyena? Princess Demande would never undermine all of my work like that," snapped Rubeus.
"I know, his decision came as a shock to me too," sneered Esmeraude.
"And from his perspective, incompetent fools like you don't deserve a second chance," added Hyena.
"That's what it would have to take on your part to truly anger such a sweet and gentle prince," finished Esmeraude.
"And because of the four spectre sisters being converted to the light, thanks to Sailor Moon and her friends, all five of the Crystal Points have not been infused with darkness, yet when you located the girl, you had no idea where the Crystal could be found, and that's what made us change our mind about you. How curious it would be to have you, a soldier in his little war, fail him for the last time," laughed Hyena, angering Rubeus.
"Right before he sent me, he said that an embarrassment like you is no longer necessary in our glorious plan," piped in Esmeraude.
Rubeus grunted angrily.
"You seem skeptical, if you don't believe me you should see for yourself. That is, if you only have the guts to show your face and talk to the prince in person," she continued.
"In the meantime, while we let you have this final chance to take care of this mess, I'll go with Esmeraude so that we can watch you, Rubeus," added Hyena.
Then the two of them laughed as they bade him farewell, and vanished into the darkness.
"I have to defeat Sailor Moon, her friends, and eliminate the rabbit. If I do, I'll appease the prince and restore my good name. Lucky for me, I already know where the Silver Crystal is," growled Rubeus, once he was alone again.
On the city streets, Usagi was now dressed in her uniform, and was hurrying home with Sora at her side.
"I'm home," she said.
"Welcome back," replied her mother.
What she didn't know was that CHibiusa saw that her brooch contained the Silver Crystal within. If she was able to get her hands on it, she would be able to save her mother from the darkness. Her thoughts were interrupted when Usagi and Sora greeted her, making her greet them back. Respectfully though, Sora decided to wait outside of Usagi's bedroom, as she changed out of her school uniform into more casual clothes, then they walked down the stairs.
"Hold on, Usagi. Didn't you take a test today?" asked Keiko.
"Sure, sure, but I can't talk about it now, I gotta run. Bye-bye," replied Usagi, once she and Sora left the house, leaving Keiko and Chibiusa bewildered, when Riku stepped down the steps.
"Urgh, she drives me nuts," complained Usagi's mother.
"Yeah, well, Usagi's a little…" replied Riku, but the two of them laughed a bit.
At the Hikawa Shrine, Artemis soon began explaining their situation to everyone who had gathered inside Rei's room.
"These past few days, there's been a spike in confirmed UFO sightings," he said.
"Do you think they might be connected to the enemy attacks we've been seeing lately?" asked Ami.
"I can't say for sure, but it's certainly alarming," replied Luna.
"What makes you say that, Luna?" asked Roxas.
"We can't let our guard down, no matter what," Luna answered Roxas.
"Sorry I'm late," Usagi's voice came from outside.
Rei was about to complain, when Sora stepped up.
"Listen, just because Usagi and I arrived fashionably late, doesn't mean you should lash out at us in anger, Rei. Because the more you rat on her, the less likely she'll trust you, and the stronger the curse of hatred will become," Sora said.
"He's right, all you'd feel is shame from your actions," added Minako.
But when Usagi noticed the cookies on the table, she asked Makoto if she'd like to eat them, which she obliged, whilst complementing the taller brunette girl's culinary artwork.
"In any case though, Usagi. We've all been talking about what Rubeus was doing, sending those droids of his, and why he's been hunting down the kid," said Axel.
"Our job is clear. We can't take our eyes off of Chibiusa, she's our top priority," added Minako.
"Absolutely! We're all she's got and she desperately needs us to make sure we protect her," agreed Usagi, making Sora nod in agreement.
Back at the Tsukino Residence, Chibiusa was watching Keiko, cooking something good for her.
"Doesn't it smell good? I'm making your favorite snack, hotcakes," she said.
Chibiusa cheered happily, but seemed curious.
"But why are you making so many of them?" she asked.
"Because, I have a feeling Usagi and Shingo would want some too," replied Usagi's mother.
"Aw, it must be hard being a mommy," Chibiusa said.
Keiko looked at the young girl, and wondered what she meant by that.
"You know, because you're always thinking of Usagi, and trying hard to do nice things for her,"continued the pinkett.
"She's not wrong, Mrs. Tsukino. Every one of us knows how much you love your daughter, as well as your son. Yet at the same time, we hold a great deal of respect for you, for helping Usagi stay true to herself," added Riku.
"Thank you, it's nice to be appreciated for once, but this is what mother's do all around the world, even if they don't get a thank you," replied Keiko.
"Mother's all around the world?" Chibiusa asked curiously.
"Yeah, but there are some who deserved to be thanked by their children. And I know that many mothers are still able to love and cherish their children, just as their fathers love them. But if Keiko and Kenji never met, Usagi and Shingo would have never been born, that's a biological fact," answered Riku.
"But I want you to know something, Chibusa, I love you too, to the moon and back, and that will never change, okay?" Keiko said to Chibiusa.
This cheered her up immensely, but a short while later, after Riku had left, Chibiusa soon entered Usagi's bedroom, and was appalled by what she saw.
"Ugh, look at this mess," she said.
Suddenly she noticed the brooch on Usagi's school blouse, and began to think that she was too careless with the Silver Crystal within it after seeing Petz and Calaveras being turned into regular people by it's light. With a slight hint of hesitation, Chibiusa placed her hand upon the brooch.
"With this Crystal, I can… I can rescue mommy," she said.
But she began to have some second thoughts about it, when she remembered how Sailor Moon always kept her safe, with her friend Sora, until she heard Sora and Usagi announcing their return home.
"Welcome back. I just made hotcakes for you, what do you say?" asked Keiko.
"Oh, I don't want any, I'm already stuffed with Mako's cookies," groaned Usagi.
"Well, I guess I can have some hotcakes, Mrs. Tsukino," grinned Sora as he placed his hands behind his head.
Now Chibiusa was really irritated, now that she knew that Usagi was irresponsible, and snatched the brooch containing the Silver Crystal away.
"Mommy, I'm going to rescue you after all," Chibiusa said as bravely as she could, then vanished quietly.
At the instant she did, Luna began berating Usagi for leaving her brooch behind, but the two of them saw that it was nowhere to be seen.
"It's not here!" gasped Usagi, making Sora rush up to her room.
"Where'd it go?" Luna asked in desperation.
"I think I have a good idea where," Sora said calmly, when he saw the open window.
"I hate her so much, how did I think I could trust her to keep me safe?" Chibiusa asked, as she ran down the street.
Inside his ship, Rubeus stood alone before the viewport, when the hologram projector activated, he soon turned to see Wiseman's image before him.
"The time has come, I can sense that the Silver Crystal is now in the rabbit's hands," the cloaked figure said to Rubeus.
"My chance is finally here," replied Rubeus.
"The rabbit will appear in the forest at dusk. Head northwest Rubeus," Wiseman confirmed to his acolyte.
"I shall," grinned the red-haired man.
Down on the streets of Juban, at the Hikawa Shrine, Minako's commlink beeped making her activate it.
"We've got a problem everyone," Luna said.
"It looks like Chibiusa took my brooch, and now we can't figure out where she is," added Usagi.
"Send word to our friends, and tell them to double their patrol for both the Crystal, Chibiusa, and when Rubeus will show up," finished Sora.
Minako nodded and clicked off the transmitter.
"Okay guys, this is serious. Let's split up and find Chibiusa," she said.
Everyone nodded and then raced off to search for the young pinkette. Meanwhile, Chibiusa stood near the lake, holding the time key in her hand.
"Wait for me, mommy, I'm coming back to the future," she said softly.
She held it high above her.
"O' Guardian of TIme, tear apart the heavens for me and open wide the gates of space and time," she chanted.
But nothing happened, because the key wasn't activating.
"What went wrong? I don't get it, why didn't anything happen?" cried the young girl, as she dropped to her knees.
She was so upset that her pleas soon attracted Riku's attention, until her cry of anguish made her power suddenly erupt into the sky above, but it drew the attention of Rubeus, who emerged before her, with a sadistic grin on his face, which in turn made Chibiusa jump back in shock.
"Aha, I've found you at last, Rabbit," he said, as he watched the young girl squirming in fear as she blacked away.
"RUBEUS! LEAVE HER ALONE!" shouted Riku, rushing to the rescue.
"Not you again," growled Rubeus, as he deflected a dark Firaga, as well as the other Sailor Guardian's attacks.
"You guys get her to safety! I'll be right behind you!" Riku said to them.
They all nodded, as Sailor Mars scooped Chibiusa in her arms, and quickly retreated, while the silverette and Rubeus stared each other down.
"Please be careful Riku, and give him one from us," called Sailor Mercury.
Riku nodded, and unleashed a Dark Volley against Rubeus making him brace for the attack yet again, then quickly retreated after giving Sailor Mercury the go ahead to use her Bubble Spray to create a strong fogbank that stalled him for a short while.
"You can put me down, Rei," Chibiusa said, making the raven haired shrine maiden surprised as she ran.
"Guess you kinda found out who these girls are, huh kid?" Axel said, rubbing the back of his head.
"That's right, I saw it with my own eyes, Axel," replied Chibiusa.
"Wait, you did?" gasped Rei.
"We took care of Rubeus," said Minako who arrived with everyone else.
'Yeah, but only for now. Once he finds out we snuck off, he's gonna have our hides for sure," added Roxas.
"I guess I should say thank you to you guys, but I don't want to since you're all best friends with that Usagi," Chibiusa said huffily.
"How can you tell?" asked Riku.
"I know why you rescued me, and I know why Riku said he's my big brother. You only came here because I have Usagi's brooch, because Riku told her parents about our relationship as siblings, and to scold me like I'm a baby!" snapped the young girl.
"Hey, don't get snippy with us, young lady! You should know that we only came to your aid because we both care and worry about us," remarked Riku.
"Usagi has no right to keep this brooch, she doesn't deserve it. I've seen her be quite selfish. She's not responsible, she only thinks of herself!" argued Chibiusa.
"And what do you know about responsibility!?" Riku snapped back, pointing Braveheart at her.
"Riku!" cried Makoto.
"Stop it!" called Ami.
"Please don't think that way about Usagi, I know she's trying her best," Rei said.
"Really?" Chibiusa asked.
"That's right, Chibiusa. Usagi's our friend, and we'll always be with her, no matter what," Sora said when he arrived.
"I agree, I mean after all, nobody's perfect, but I love Usagi," added Minako.
"I do too. I mean I can't think of anyone else who's more fun than Usagi," said Makoto.
"Yeah, I totally agree. After all, Usagi's always thinking about other people, especially you Chibiusa," piped in Ami.
"Yeah, Usagi'd never think poorly about us, kid. It's because she's just like Sora, always thinking about her friends which are the source of her power," grinned Axel.
"You're all lying to me! Stop lying!" yelled Chibiusa, and she ran off.
"Wait!" called Sora.
"Look out!" cried Rei.
But Chibiusa raced across the street, causing several cars to skid to a halt, and make several drivers shout angrily at her, as she disappeared into an alleyway so that she could be by herself, but Riku ran after her, leaping over the street, and following her down the alley. Back on the ship, Rubeus stood watching the viewport, his eyes wild with evil triumph.
"Rabbit, you can run and you can hide, but I will know the second you can return to the future," he laughed malevolently.
"Did you find her?" Usagi asked when they met in the shopping district.
"No we haven't," replied Sora and Rei.
"The situation is worse than we thought. If Chibiusa has the brooch, then she also has the Silver Crystal," added Ami.
"And if Rubeus finds her, she'll be turned into a Heartless by his hands,"
"Yeah, you're right," said Usagi.
"Then we gotta find Chibiusa and the Silver Crystal before Rubeus does," replied Sora.
He turned to Ami, Aqua, Rei, and Axel.
"We need to hurry up or she's goner," he said quickly.
"They just don't give up. I swear I won't let anyone have this brooch, which would be easier if I weren't so tired," whispered Chibiusa, who ducked down the alleyway.
Meanwhile MInako, Terra, Makoto, and Roxas soon heard the clock sounding the hour of ten in the evening.
"It's already past her bedtime. Poor girl must be so exhausted," said Makoto.
"Don't worry, we'll find her," replied Terra.
Mamoru was just returning home, when he saw Chibiusa in front of the door to his apartment. She was asleep, and dreamt of seeing several people looking like her friends trying to flee from the destruction caused by those who wanted to eliminate her along with those she cherished with her hearts, as the young man picked up the little girl and put her in his bed so that she could rest. When she opened her eyes, she saw Mamoru sitting beside her.
"How are you feeling?" he asked.
Gently wiping the tears in her eyes, Chibiusa suddenly noticed a rose in a small doll's hand.
"You're safe now. Don't cry pretty little lady. If you look sad, even this rose will wilt. Here, take it, it's for you," Mamoru said as he held the Tuxedo Mask doll.
"Thank you," replied Chibiusa, who gently took it in her hand, whilst being careful not to prick her fingers on the thorns.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Tuxedo Mask," Mamoru said as he made the doll move.
Chibiusa was surprised.
"Were you having a scary dream?" he asked.
"Yes. Hey, Mr. Tuxedo Mask," replied Chibiusa.
"What is it?" inquired Tuxedo Mask.
"I was wondering if Sailor Moon is very strong," she said.
"Yes, invincible," replied Mamoru.
Chibiusa understood now, until her stomach growled, making them laugh.
"Wait here, I'll get you something to eat," said Mamoru.
Chibiusa nodded, and asked if it was alright to have some hotcakes.
"Hotcakes huh? Okay," smiled Mamrou, until the doorbell rang.
"Mamo/Mamrou, has Chibiusa come here?" Sora and Usagi asked from outside.
But when Mamoru returned, Chibiusa was nowhere to be seen, as she Luna P to transform into a parachute, as she jumped down.
"Mamo/Mamoru, Where's Chibiusa?" Sora and Usagi asked after they entered.
"Sorry, you just missed her," replied Mamoru.
"Come back!" called Sora and Usagi.
But the little girl landed safely on the street, and Luna P transformed back into its original form.
"This time, I'm going back to the future for sure!" she cried out.
The time key shimmered, and a portal soon emerged above her.
"It's working, I'm going back to see my mommy," she said happily.
But as she rose, a dark power suddenly appeared, causing her to stop and drop to the ground. There in the sky was Rubeus' ship. Many people looked up in shock at it, even Ami, Rei, Minako, Makoto, and the rest of Sora and Usagi's friends. None of them had seen a ship like this before. But they soon heard the sound of Rubeus triumphant laughter as a beam of light illuminated the unconscious Chibiusa.
"Hello, Rabbit. No matter where you are when you attempt to return to the future, you cause a distortion in space-time. This ship will lead me there, and I'll find you," he said.
Chibiusa awoke with a start.
"Now then, rabbit. Are you ready to die?" Rubeus asked with evil triumph.
"Not if we can help it," Sailor Venus said as she and the other Sailor Guardians arrived.
"Don't worry, Chibiusa. We're here, and we won't let the jerk take you anywhere," Sailor Mars assured the young girl.
"That's right, kid. Now let's get you to safety," agreed Axel.
The other Guardians of Kingdom Hearts stood firm as well.
"Ha, fine. Then I'll eliminate all you cursed blights together along with her," sneered Rubeus.
"Don't mess with us!" snapped Sailor Jupiter.
Then she along with Sailors Mercury, Venus, Mars fought furiously with everything they had, by unleashing their strongest attacks, but it didn't phase Rubeus in the slightest. Even Sora's friends couldn't touch him as well.
"He's protected by an invisible energy field that even our attacks can't even break. It must be incredibly powerful," observed Sailor Mercury.
"Stop your useless resistance," scoffed Rubues.
He then retaliated with a powerful burst of darkness that sent the four girls sprawling to the ground, but they shielded Chibiusa from the attack.
"Now's your chance, run, get away quickly," Rei said.
"That's not going to happen!" shouted Rubeus.
Suddenly, a beam of darkness shot down towards them, and engulfed them, as Riku picked up Chibiusa and got clear. But the beam soon struck the Sailor Guardians head on, as it began to pin them to the ground.
"There's incredible power emanating from this beam, that's feeding directly from the UFO," Sailor Mercury said through the strain.
"It's too strong. The only way to get out of this is to combine our powers," replied Sailor Mars.
"Are we saying that we use our Sailor Planet Power?" asked Sailor Venus.
"It won't work if Sailor Moon's not with you," called Riku.
"Riku's right, we're still one guardian short. We need Sailor Moon!" agreed Sailor Mercury.
"We might not be able to save ourselves, but we gotta save Chibiusa," declared Sailor Mars.
"You're right, we have to try," agreed Sailor Jupiter.
The four of them stood up, as the Keybladers readied their weapons, and pointed them at the ship. Chibiusa watched as everyone combined their powers into one incredible force. But even with Sailor Planet Power combined with everyone else's power surging towards the ship, Rubeus scoffed at them.
"Chibiusa, everyone, get away from here," cried Sailor Mars.
"Not without you, guys," protested Mickey.
"Run, save yourselves, now!" shouted Sailor Mars.
"She's gonna be okay, I've got her. You guys hurry too," Tuxedo Mask said as he picked up the young girl, and fled with the other Keyblade Wielders at his side.
"Fine, let's play rough," said Rubues.
He increased the ship's power, making everyone struggle against it's effects, which began to pull them up.
"Oh no!" gasped Sora and Usagi, as they watched their four friends, disappear into the ship.
Even as they were pulled up, the four of them looked at their two friends, and vanished into the ship.
"COME BACK!" they cried, as Rubeus howled with laughter.
"They're gone," whispered Chibiusa.
"Are you all right, Chibiusa?" Tuxedo Mask asked.
But Usagi was furious, as angry tears rolled down her cheeks.
"CHIBIUSA!" she screamed, raising her hand to strike her.
"Usagi no! It wasn't her fault!" protested Sora.
Tuxedo Mask agreed with him, as he held Usagi's hand.
"Liar! She ruined everything! This is all her fault!" cried Usagi.
Sora, however, glared up at Rubeus, his eyes etched with anger.
"RUBEUS! YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR THIS!" he shouted, over his crazed laughter.
