Demande's Funeral and Celebration

By the time Sora and his friends had returned home, they had just found Demande's deceased body which had somehow been transported out of the Malefic Black Crystal after it was destroyed. Without a second thought, Sora carefully picked up the fallen prince, and carried him to Hikawa Shrine. Taking a piece of cloth, he wrapped it around the Demande, then bound it with leather wrappings, so that the horrendous stench wouldn't create a foul air around them. Then with Yuuichirou and Lord Hino's help, they created a makeshift funeral pyre from several large logs, just as Rei suddenly emerged outside of the shrine.

"What's going on?" she asked curiously.

"Prince Demande may have been an enemy once, but his actions in saving Sailor Moon's life as well as keeping her safe have made me realize something, Rei. The Power of Redemption, is something that can turn even the cruelest of people into better people. A power that Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, Riku, Twily, and even Anakin Skywalker understood when they renounced the darkness in favor of light," Sora explained to her.

"But, why did you, Grandpa, and Yuuichirou build a funeral pyre?" Rei asked again.

"Because Rei, Sora wants to honor Demande's actions. That's why he earned both his respect, as well as Usagi's. He deserves to rest in peace," Riku said to her.

At that instant, Koan, Berthier, Petz, and Calaveras slowly walked up the stairs of the Hikawa Shrine, so that they too could participate in the funeral, along with the rest of Rei's friends.

"Hey, Usagi, Can you tell us what happened after you disappeared from us?" Ami asked.

"When Demande tried to make me his puppet again, Sora fought him off. But, what he did was nothing I expected from him. Demande even tried to goad him into unleashing his anger and hate against him, so that he could free Vanitas who lingers inside of Sora's heart. However, he said something that really set him off. He said that if I still continued to refuse to be his queen, he'd try and make Minako become his queen instead. And all that anger Sora tried to hold back just burst out as he screamed, 'Never!' In that moment, I was horrified by what I saw, as he attacked Demande, blind by his own rage. But when Demande told Sora to finish him off, so that he could have his hands stained in his blood, I had to stop him, so that Vanitas wouldn't break free," explained Usagi.

When Minako heard that, she felt like she had been struck by lightning from either Petz or Sailor Jupiter's thunder attacks.

"But he didn't, Usagi. Sora chose to keep you safe from Demande's advances, and that in turn made Mamoru proud of him. However, hearing you say that he would try to make me his queen really makes me mad, but I'd never do the same thing he did, and subvert love with hatred. That's not how a true hero would act in the face of true evil. An action like that, would result in us becoming the villain of this story," she assured Usagi.

"You're right, Minako. But, you do care about him, don't you?" Ami said.

Minako nodded towards her.

"Okay, I can understand. That's fine. When you two go on a date, we won't get in the way," said Makoto.

"Mako, even if we're friends, Sora won't leave another scar on your heart that's similar to the one you have after you-know-who said it was over between the two of you. He respects you, just as we all do," assured the blonde.

"That's right. And even though I don't warm up to finding love, Sora did tell Chibiusa that it's much wiser, while hate is always foolish. That's why, I'll always respect him," agreed Ami.

Then Minako slowly walked up to Sora, and gently kissed his lips. Even as they smiled, Usagi was happy to see that they truly loved each other, as they shared another passionate kiss. At last, the time had come for the funeral to begin. Yuuichirou passed a torch to Sora, who gently held it in his hand, then lit the funeral pyre, so that Demande's body would be reduced to spirit and ash.

"I burn his darkness and with it the evil of his actions. May the name Demande be a light that let's people know that redemption brings light to all… Rest well, Demande. Your heart is your guiding key," Sora whispered to the fallen prince.

Everyone watched quietly, as the sky was now lit up by fireworks, which celebrated the fall of the wicked Death Phantom. In Crystal Tokyo, a similar celebration took place, as the people began to cheer for their freedom, now that the Black Moon Clan was no more, and Nemesis could now be at peace. But at Hikawa Shrine, everyone was now celebrating and dancing about with many people, as drums and musical instruments were playing. Hugs and handshakes were exchanged between them, and even Yuuichirou began to dance with Rei, while everyone was dancing around the bonfire, just as Sora and Usagi exchanged a hug with each other, but he shook hands with Mamoru who hugged him as well, then even hugged the rest of his friends, while the dancing continued. At last, Sora stood alone, and saw the spectral forms of Prince Demande, Saphir, and Master Eraqus smiling at him, making him see that they were very proud of him as they stood away from the celebration. Then Usagi gently led Sora back to the celebration, while the two brothers stood watching, knowing that Sora would always stand vigil on all worlds.
