Chapter Three
A few hours later I found myself as well as my team on a different planet, gathering the Element Zero, as well as dismantling the Research station. According to EDI, we would have enough Element Zero, but not quite enough salvage so we would be hitting the other side of this planet for the other couple of research stations then we can start our days long journey to the Relay.
"Garrus?" Liara asked as we loaded a piece of wall from the research station.
"Yeah?"
"Be honest with me. Why did you vote for me?" Everyone knew who I voted for, as the only vote that was not myself was Liara. I, however, did not want to tell the truth. I did not want to hurt her feelings.
"Well, being the Shadow Broker and all, you must be used to leading people."
"I only lead people from behind a screen. And it was less about leading and more of buying and selling information." We worked in silence for a while longer. "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine."
"It will get better, Garrus."
"I doubt it."
After eight long hours of work we went back to the Normandy and Joker flew us to the other side of the planet. In eight more hours of work, we would be finished here. Then, we would be on our way to the next system over. Thankfully we had EDI back so she could calculate the most efficient route. We had no way to fuel up until we got to Earth, and even then, we don't know what state the system is in. It is likely much worse than it is here.
