Eve

Nature is a fragile thing that works in mysterious ways.

It is unpredictable and no matter what others say, it cannot be controlled.

It has a balance that must be maintained. Anything that can tip the scales will be catastrophic.

As such nature creates an Apex species that maintain the balance of nature.

Yet sometimes an Apex species becomes too powerful and can no longer be tamed. They start to wreak havoc upon the lands they were meant to protect. They become the sole Apex Predator that no other species can match. An Apex Predator that can adapt to any environment no matter how cold, how hot, or how liveable it is.

They become the most fearsome calamity that has ever existed.

Yet Nature always finds a way to right itself.

Just how do you combat an Apex Predator?

By creating another Apex Predator that can surpass the previous one and set things right.

Danny Hebert can say that ever since he met Annette, he has been the happiest man on Earth.

He had a rough start considering he had to deal with a sorry excuse of a father with anger issues who also thinks it's ok to take out his anger on his own family.

He had managed to escape his 'father's' abuse and become a man who would follow a righteous path.

It was unfortunate that he inherited his 'father's' temper though he learned to temper it and keep it restrained.

Though he managed to escape his abusive past he was only really following the crowd. He may have made some good friends such as Alan, but he never really lived the happy life he sought.

Until he met Annette.

It was love at first sight for him and lucky for him she reciprocated.

The two were practically made for each.

Many would say that they had moved too fast when they went straight for marriage after college, but they were lucky to have people who supported the union.

He finally has the happy life he wanted.

Although of course this happy married life came with its own concerns.

Mainly the fact that his wife is giving birth.

All he could do was offer words of encouragement and comfort, while his hand is being slowly crushed into paste by his wife, and let the doctor and nurses do their work.

Like Annette he desires a family of his own. Yet unlike Annette he's afraid.

He didn't really have the best role models for parenting, what with his father being an abusive asshole and his mother being subservient to the guy, so he fears that he would end up abusing his child without even realizing it.

He has no intention of ever abusing his family but now with a child on the way uncertainties come up.

Will he be able to keep his anger in check? Will he be capable of taking care of their child? Can he support his wife and child? Will he be a good father? A good husband?

Though he has his doubts about his ability to properly care for a child it doesn't mean that he won't give it a try.

He'll just have to go with his instincts and rely on his wife to point out any faults he can't notice.

With one last scream Annette managed to push the baby out. They could hear the cries of their newborn child causing the married couple to smile.

The doctor was cleaning the baby up when he paused. He looked closely at the newborn baby and his eyes widen in surprise and a little bit of confusion.

The nurses took a look at the baby themselves and were also left in bafflement.

Annette and Danny were quick to notice this.

"Doctor is there something wrong?"

The couple were worried and afraid that there were complication during the delivery process.

The Doctor, instead of answering, handed the baby over to Annette.

The two looked at their newborn baby and were baffled at what they saw.

The baby, on a side note it was a baby girl, looked like any other baby, small yet healthy. Except her skin tone was paler than what was the norm and her hair's pink of all colors. But what took the cake were the two little nubs on her head.

Without thinking, Annette gently felt the little nubs and they felt tough… like bone.

She realized that these nubs were actually horns.

Feeling her horns being touched, the baby squirmed before opening her eyes revealing them to be bright ruby red.

The baby cooed at the sight of her parents, her pudgy little arms reaching out for them.

The parents couldn't help but smile at the sight. Annette immediately cuddled her newborn daughter.

"I cannot say I have ever come across something like this. As far as I can observe there were no complications, and she is a perfectly healthy baby. Although I would like to run a few tests on her just to make sure."

The parents agreed with the doctor.

"What is the name of your newborn daughter?"

Annette looked down at her little girl with a smile.

"Taylor Anne Hebert."

The family of three smiled and were happy, thinking of the life they will have…

Unaware of the tragedy and death that will claim their daughter…

Author's Notes

Ok this was shorter than I thought it would take to type. Didn't realize the prologue required so few words.

So yes this is an Elfen Lied/Worm crossover... Why the HELL was this idea never used?!

I mean come on does no one see the similarities between Taylor and Lucy?!

A. They are both ostracized and vilified by the world

B. They had to deal with ATROCIOUS levels of bullying

C. They were both betrayed by a best friend

D. They both ended up in a relationship that was doomed to fail

E. They both have tremendous power that is psionic in nature

F. They both had to fight their own kind

G. They both had to deal authoritative figures that just plain suck and have nasty personalities.

H. They were both abandoned by their fathers (for Taylor it was neglect and for Lucy it was actual abandonment)

I. They both have dead mothers that loved them dearly

J. They both had to fight people with powers

K. They both ended up finding themselves a group they could call friends and having to leave them for their own good

L. They both end up having their own powers grow so strong they risked being consumed by them.

M. They both had to die in order to save the world

N. The endings in their respective storyline implies that they will live better lives than their old ones.

So yes Taylor is a composite of herself and Lucy.

Before anyone asks this isn't just another Taylor triggers with a power from a different fiction. She is a Queen Diclonius with all the powers that it entails.

Earth Bet is officially screwed.

Ya know I just realized something... Considering just how versatile Tinkers are (especially Biotinkers) I realized that it will be simple and easy to create something from another fandom.

As long as its anything bomb-related Bakuda can do just about literally anything. She can do surgery and she can replicate Parahuman powers.

Bonesaw can combine Parahuman powers together and even clone other Parahumans.

Nilbog can create goblin-like creatures.

Echidna can create copies of other Parahumans with modified powers.

Blasto was able to create a hybrid clone of a Parahuman and an Endbringer.

And then there's Amy who at the height of her power turned Glory Girl into a miniature Eden, can modify powers by inducing artificial Trigger Events, can form chimeras easily, can create pseudo-Endbringers, and can induced Titanification.

So yes creating something like Chemical A0-3959X.91 – 15 (Aliens), Mutagen (TMNT), RC Cells (Tokyo Ghoul), The Progenitor Virus (Resident Evil) and all its variants, Blacklight (Prototype), Anomalies (Primeval), and even Oracle cells (God Eater) would be simple child's play for Tinkers.

So something like the Diclonius virus would actually not be something out of place in Worm. Although an average Diclonius would definitely be something too much to handle for an average Parahuman.

So see ya next time ;)
