Hi guys! Just to let you know, I am a very sporadic writer so if you are worried that I haven't updated for a while please don't be, I won't give up on this fic. I am trying to balance writing with my other hobbies, procrastination and shortly uni work when September hits so it may be a long time between updates.

This fic is still funny but definitely more 'cute' than some of my previous ones. If you really like humour then please check out my other fic 'Ginny and Luna are dating and you can't convince me otherwise', a series of crackfics about them I write when I'm procrastinating.

I do realise that I have written a Christmas fic although we are in the middle of summer. Honestly I'm not sure why my brain does this. Without further ado, please enjoy 'Angelina'.

'Luna?', Ginny asked, 'have you ever had a crush on anyone before me?'

They were lying in her bed, the dark blue drapes of the Ravenclaw room enclosing them in darkness, the only light coming from the twinkling stars in the fabricated night sky of the high ceiling. Luna's roommates were gone for the Christmas holidays, and by happy coincidence both Luna and Ginny were staying on at Hogwarts. The days spent at the school were long and dreamlike: few students were there, and the two girls spent the days taking walks through Hogsmeade, looking after their Pygmy Puffs and making endless hot chocolates. Sometimes, when Ginny could be bothered she flew, and Luna would watch her from the Ravenclaw Tower window and crochet, blowing on her freezing hands. It was as though they were encapsulated in a perfect bubble of time, in the unbroken white sky and thick layers of snow. They spent their evenings together, playing exploding snap and then sleeping in Luna's room.

They lay side by side, Ginny playing with her girlfriend's hair which glowed pale blonde in the light from the ceiling. Luna lay silent for a while, thinking.

'Well… there was someone…'

'Who?'

'Angelina Johnson.'

Ginny sat up in bed, dumbfounded. 'Angelina Johnson?'

Luna sat up next to her. 'Yes, what's wrong with that? I have to confess, I liked her for a while before we started dating, and when I started to fancy you I did still think she was very pretty. Uh, in fact I still do.'

Ginny turned to look at her. Luna couldn't see her expression very well in the dark, but she imagined it was not particularly happy. 'It's not a crush anymore though! You're the only one for me.'

Mollified, Ginny lay back down bringing Luna with her and began to play with her hair again. 'You know', she said after a while, 'I also liked Angelina.'

'Seriously? I thought you only had eyes for Harry'

'Yeah, I did have a big crush on him for a while, but Angelina was also definitely on my radar. We were in the Quidditch team together! She's so pretty and kind..'

'Mmmm', agreed Luna dreamily.

'And so good at quidditch…'

Laughing, Luna poked her in the ribs. 'Who still has a crush now?'

Ginny laughed too. 'No, I'm like you, not anymore. I still think she's really cool though. You know, I kept a diary right through second and third year.'

Luna giggled. 'Seriously? That's so sweet'

'Ha! Yeah, even after what happened when I first started Hogwarts, I still really liked writing my diary. I'll see if I can find it, it might contain some stuff about Angelina we can read for a laugh.'

'Probably that and a lot of angsty emo stuff. Wasn't that when you went through your My Chemical Romance phase?'

Ginny grimaced. 'I thought we agreed not to talk about that. At least I didn't go through a horse girl phase like some people'.

After breakfast the next morning, Luna decided to wander round the lake while she waited for Ginny to find the diaries. The air was frosty, chilling her fingers and toes until they became numb and she watched a lone robin hop on the black branches of a tree.

'I have them!'

The loud, blasting voice of her girlfriend broke the silence, making Luna smile to herself. There was something so endearing about Ginny's clumsiness. She turned to see the out of breath redhead clutching two fluffy neon pink and purple notebooks. Despite the ridiculousness of the books she was holding, Ginny was very beautiful in the pale morning light, her hair curling round her shoulders, her mouth very red in the cold.

'Merlin', Luna said as she examined the notebooks. 'Is that a glittery heart I see?'

'Yep', said Ginny proudly. 'I found them in a muggle gift shop, they're very professional'.

They gazed at the notebooks together, then decided to walk back to the castle to examine them in the warmth. While in theory there was something very romantic about examining the notebooks together in the crisp morning air and frozen landscape, there was no denying that Luna could no longer feel her legs she was so cold, and Ginny's lips had turned blue.

Over cups of hot chocolate, they turned the pages together, Ginny occasionally groaning at the particularly embarrassing sections.

'Ginny, I can't believe you seriously used to write My Chemical Romance fanfiction in here! Did you even post any of it?'

Ginny groaned. She supposed she might as well tell her girlfriend. 'Yeah, I typed out my best stories and published them when I got back to the Burrow, Dad had an old muggle computer he had managed to set up. I found it in his garage one day and agreed that I wouldn't tell mum if he let me go on it during the holidays.'

'Awh, that's so cute…. Wait, I think I just saw something about Angelina!'

Ginny leaned forward to examine it, then blanched. Shit, she had forgotten about this. 'Oh, that's really boring. I was just writing about Quidditch practice!' she laughed awkwardly, attempting to wrest the notebook out of Luna's grip and shut it.

'Wait, this is… did you write fanfiction about you and Angelina Johnshon?' Luna began to laugh, gripping the notebook tighter. 'I like the premise of this, you going to the Yule Ball… oooh, and she gives you a single red rose. And she drives you to the ball in a limo. Smooth'

Blushing, Ginny finally succeeded in wresting the book out of Luna's hands. 'Just pretend you didn't see that, ok?'

Luna laughed and kissed her on the cheek. 'But it's so cute!' Ginny was slightly mollified. Maybe it wasn't quite so humiliating after all, if she got a kiss from Luna out of it.

On Christmas morning, Ginny woke to find Luna gone, her side of the bed perfectly made, a note on the cover telling her to look outside the widow. Sure enough, when Ginny approached it was to see her girlfriend standing proudly by an enormous snow sculpture, although she couldn't make out what it was from so high up.

'Come down!', Luna called. Her blonde hair stuck out in strange angles from her hat, and her cheeks were bright red in the snow. She looked very sweet. Ginny smiled, then started to get dressed.

'Merlin Luna, this must have taken you forever!'

'I woke up early to make it. Happy Christmas, love.'

Ginny stared at the snow limo in astonishment, before examining it closer. 'Wow, and where did you get that bunch of roses?' she picked the flowers off of the steering wheel, examining them delightedly. 'They're gorgeous.'

'A witch never reveals her secrets' said Luna, tapping her nose mysteriously. Thank Merlin for Professor Sprout's flower garden, she mused, then looked smugly at her amazed girlfriend, who was now bending down to examine the wheels she had carefully made. Suck it, Angelina Johnson, she thought. You might have fictitiously taken her to the Yule Ball and given her a limo: I gave her a snow limo and tonnes of roses. Ha.

Hope you enjoyed… I just really wanted to write a secretly jealous Luna. I feel that while Ginny explodes with jealousy/shows it more obviously (as seen in Sunshine the Pygmy Puff), Luna is far more subtle, but she still definitely wants to be best.

All your reviews are so appreciated. I can't respond to guest reviews but I read them all and find them really inspiring!
