Early the next morning Reese pulled into the exposed aggregate driveway of the 15,200 square foot potential listing on Melrose. It was even more beautiful in person. The landscaping was beautifully done with rows of trees crowned in crimson swaying in the gentle early autumn breeze. The house was welcoming from the surprisingly open front door to the open layout and beautiful flow between living areas on all four floors. A house like this would sell fast but it was a risk trying to list and sell a property with the time she had left at the Redwood Group.
"Can I help you?"
Reese spun on her heels at the sound of the full deep voice that echoed behind her through the massive halls. She turned to see a tall muscular man staring confusedly at her. He had the kind of face that would stop you dead in your tracks; there was one word to describe it, perfectly sun kissed. He had thick tousled dark brown hair and mesmerizing deep blue eyes which were framed by graceful eyebrows. He had angular cheekbones, a well-defined nose, and a strong graceful jawline complimented with stubble. He was an Adonis compared to any other man that Reese had laid eyes on.
"If you're here for the rest of Ana's things, I've moved it to the guest house," he said firmly.
"Oh, no. I 'm sorry," she said walking over to him quickly, her heels echoing in the half-empty house, "My name is Reese Sutherlin. I'm with the Redwood Group."
"I didn't realize the property was already listed," he said firmly shaking her hand.
"It's not. I was just coming by to check out the property so that I can sell the idea to my broker to get the listing," she smiled, "I was just passing by. I wasn't expecting anyone to be here."
"Oh, so you were breaking and entering," he asked raising a brow.
"Just entering," she chuckled nervously, "the front door was open."
"And it still is," he said firmly.
"I apologize. I'll let myself out," she said turning to leave.
Reese felt embarrassed as she walked towards the open front door. She could hear footsteps slowly pacing behind her on the calacatta marble floor; he was following her, making sure she left. She quickened her pace down the long driveway and got into her car. Before backing out of the driveway, she glanced at the house taking in its beauty, but it was overshadowed by the intense glare coming from the ruggedly handsome, yet rude mystery man.
Wavy lines of traffic overflowed down the hill and with each passing moment it was becoming increasingly obvious that she wasn't going to make it to work on time. Reese's phone vibrated loudly in her purse. She knew it was Naomi checking her ETA. She waited for a good stopping point to rummage through her purse for her cell phone.
8:15 AM Naomi: Hey where are you?! Victor and Vincent are ready to get started.
8:17 AM Naomi: Reese you better not be in bed.
8:21 AM Reese: Hey I went to that Melrose property this morning. I'm literally sitting in traffic.
8:23 AM Naomi: Oh yea! I totally forgot about that. How did it go?
8:24 AM Reese: Stunning property. Creepy guy…in a hot way.
8:27 AM Naomi: Hot creepy guy?
8:32 AM Reese: Pulling in now. I'll give you the deets at lunch.
Reese rushed into the office interrupting the morning meeting. All eyes were on her as she awkwardly made her way to her office; all she wanted to do was not be a spectacle.
"And congratulations to Reese," Victor announced loudly, "we got a call this morning from a Christian Grey, Owner of Grey Enterprises Holdings and he wants us to set up a listing appointment for his place on Melrose."
"Great job Reese!" Vincent chimed in, beginning the applause, "I love when you all take the initiative to seek out potential listings."
"Thanks," Reese said shyly, "I'm going to get settled in and then if I can touch base with you Victor, that would be great."
"Absolutely," Victor smiled and then turned his attention back to the rest of the group.
Reese continued to her office and shut the door behind her; she was already exhausted, and it wasn't even 9:00 AM. She took out the crumpled manilla folder with the information for the Melrose listing and powered up her laptop to google search Christian Grey; he was the mystery man.
