Cozy Glow remembers her first night with Rumble, it was the night she and Rumble spent in Sugar Belle's house back in Our Town. Cozy Glow was sharing a bed with Rumble when she spotted something interesting between Sugar Belle and Party Favor.

She didn't mean to feel jealous, but she wouldn't be honest if she didn't admit that she missed being Rumble's girlfriend. The attention he gave her was nothing short of amazing, she hadn't expected such dedication from one pony, but he did everything he could to make her happy. She really thought she would enjoy that type of life forever. It wuld be her, Rumble, and a Kingdom all to themselves of ponies bowing to their every whim.
She also has to get used to not having evil plans too, which made her process twice as hard. But as jealous as she was of Sweetie Belle, she did want to be her friend, and if it meant giving up evil, then that is what she will do.
Rumble was the first to stir awake, noticing that his friend has also risen from her slumber. "Hey Cozy Glow, how's it going?"
"Just peachy," Cozy Glow said, flashing a smile in his direction.
"How are you feeling?" Rumble asked. "Did you sleep well? How's the baby?"
"Rumble I'm not that pregnant," Cozy Glow said. "But I slept fine."
"That's good," Rumble said, then turned to Sweetie Belle, nuzzling her. "Hey, Sweetie Belle, you awake?"
"Mmhmm," Sweetie Belle said, slowly opening her eyes, gazing right at Rumble. "Hey there."
The two quickly kissed, Rumble turning back to Cozy Glow. "I'm gonna make us breakfast, anything you're craving?"
"Cookies?" Cozy Glow said.
Rumble chuckled a bit at this girl's quirky cuteness, "Cozy, I can't make cookies this early in the morning, you need something nutritional."
"But I'm pwegnant, so I want cookies," Cozy Glow said, trying to look cute.
"Come on Cozy, you're gonna be a mom in eleven months, you gotta cut the cute act," Rumble said.
"Oh just because she's gonna be a mom doesn't mean she can't be cute," Sweetie Belle said. "Rainbow Dash's mom is cute, and she's a lot older."
"Eh, guess you have a point," Rumble said.
"I do agree with Rumble though Cozy," Sweetie Belle said. "You're eating for two now, so you really need to watch your diet."
Cozy Glow pouted a bit, "Hey I thought being pregnant means I could eat whatever I felt like, that's what I heard from Chrysalis!"
"I mean, you could but you also have to be careful, if you eat the wrong thing you'll just end up puking," Rumble warned.
Cozy Glow looked a bit grossed out from the warning Rumble gave her. "Alright fine, no cookies, but I would like pancakes."
"That I can make," Rumble said, leaping off the bed. "Any flavor?"
"Chocolate chip?" Cozy Glow asked.
Rumble sighed in annoyance, it's probably to be expected that a mare wants sweets when pregnant, but the fact is that Cozy Glow is only a few weeks pregnant. Well more like a few years but she was frozen for that time. But maybe it couldn't hurt to give Cozy Glow what she wanted.
"Fine, you can have chocolate chip," Rumble said. "You want anything Sweetie Belle?"
"Just plain is fine, thanks dear," Sweetie Belle said.
"Sure thing," Rumble made his way out of the room, down to the kitchen.
Sweetie Belle made her way next to Cozy Glow, nuzzling the filly, "Glad you slept well, soon you'll be able to have your own bed, but I don't mind sharing this one with you a bit more."
"Thanks, I really appreciate your kindness," Cozy Glow said, nuzzling back. "I'm just surprised you're letting me stay with you, I thought maybe you'd want some alone time with Rumble at night for...well you know."
"It's fine, if we want the privacy we'll let you know, or we'll go somewhere else, but I may hold off a bit since I may go into heat soon, and I don't want to get pregnant while you are, otherwise Rumble just has more work, and this way I can be able to take care of you as well," Sweetie Belle said.
"That makes me wonder, when are you and Rumble gonna have babies of your own?" Cozy Glow asked. "Right after mine is born?"
"I may wait a bit and see how we fair as parents," Sweetie Belle said. "But I definitely want to have some babies with Rumble myself, so this time I'll be the one getting pregnant."
"Well, when that time comes, then I'll help take care of you," Cozy Glow said.
"You're so nice," Sweetie Belle said, bringing Cozy Glow in for a side hug. "It's like we're one big family."
"Wow, really?" Cozy Glow asked.
"Of course," Sweetie Belle said, rubbing Cozy Glow's belly. "You and your baby will always be part of our family."
"Golly, that's really nice of you to say Sweetie Belle," Cozy Glow said, nuzzling the filly's nose muzzle. "Thank you so much."
"You're welcome," Sweetie Belle said, returning the nuzzle, which her friend greatly appreciated.
Of course deep down Sweetie Belle still felt a hint of resentment, still feeling bothered by the fact that Cozy Glow is having what she feels is her child. She also worries just how attached Cozy Glow may be after the baby is born, or just how Rumble will feel. No doubt he'll feel a strong connection to his child, and even if she does show the child love, in the end the child will likely just flock to it's birth mother. This baby could be the reason Rumble ends up going back to Cozy Glow, the fact that they have a child that cements their bond together.
Suddenly Sweetie Belle was surprised by a kiss to the cheek from Cozy Glow, the filly sheepishly grinning afterward. "Sorry if that was random, guess I was too happy. You've been so understanding of me and my situation, I don't know too many fillies that would help take care of their coltfriend's last marefriend, especially when she's pregnant."
"Well of course, you're gonna have a baby after all, I didn't want you to be alone," Sweetie Belle said.
"I don't know if I would have been, I mean I could have easily just gone to live with Flitter or with The Dazzlings, but I do love that you took me in," Cozy Glow began to hug Sweetie Belle. "So generous, just like your sister, I love you so much, I'm glad you're my new best friend."
Whatever resentment Sweetie Belle felt was once again dimmed, the young girl returning the hug and feeling happy about the love and affection she got from her newfound bestie. Sweetie Belle may be considered the cutest filly in Ponyville, something she isn't really quick to dispute, but even she can succumb to the cuteness of another adorable filly.
Time passed by, Rumble had made a nice breakfast for him, his fiance, his future sister-in-law and the future mother of his child.
"You're quite the chef Rumble," Rarirty commented, using her magic to clean herself with a napkin. "Even when I try cooking something as seemingly easy as pancakes they turn out rather mediocre, edible but nothing fancy."
"Aw it's nothing really, I just read directions, and add a little of my own creativity," Rumble said. "I mean anypony can do this, my brother can cook too."
"That I'm well aware of, he does cook some lovely meals for our dates, of course between this and that lovely lunch you made for us the other day, I would go as far as to say that cooking is your specialty," Rarity said.
"I second that," Cozy Glow said.
"Third," Sweetie Belle said.
Rumble started feeling a bit bashful, "Come on girls, you're flattering me too much."
"It's well deserved," Rarity said, fluffing his mane. "Sweetie Belle better watch out, I might just scoop you up myself."
Sweetie Belle didn't take too kindly to that comment, "Hey, we're engaged, he's not going anywhere. Besides you already have his brother."
"I know, but seeing just how well Rumble grew up, I can't help but feel a bit jealous that I didn't consider him myself," Rarity said. "I mean, Twilight could tell Tender Taps would grow up to be a fine stallion, and while Thunderlane is a fine stallion, it's easy to see who the more well rounded brother is."
"Aw, you're too nice," Rumble said, a blush appearing on his face.
"It's my honest feelings darling," Rarity said, stroking under his chin. "You are indeed handsome though, I could have very easily fallen in love with you."
"Yeah, yeah, now quit trying to butter up my fiancé, he's mine and I'm not sharing," Sweetie Belle said, pulling Rumble back with her magic.
Somehow that stung Cozy Glow, just another reminder that Rumble is out of her reach, even her carrying his baby won't get him back. It's a harsh reality, but she thinks she can get through it, or rather she hopes.
"I do admire the dedication my dear sister," Rarity said. "Rumble's very lucky to have you, and I know he feels the same regarding your love for him."
"No doubt about that," Sweetie Belle slightly boasted. "We're perfect for each other, I mean how many couples can bounce back from what we went through? It's just fate that we're meant to be together, and that wedding will finalize it."
"You still need to set a date, that way we can focus on reservations," Rarity said.
"I already have a date in mind, I marked it on my calendar," Sweetie Belle said. "I want it to be on the anniversary of our first date."
Rumble seemed a little concerned about that, "Wait, was it the pretend date we had or the real one?"
"Our very first one, I don't count that as pretend anymore, it felt real to me," Sweetie Belle said.
"That's nice to hear," Rumble said. "Guess I really swept you off your hooves."
"You could say that," Sweetie Belle said.
"So, if I may ask, when exactly did you start to fall in love Sweetie Belle?" Cozy Glow asked. "I mean, you weren't even trying to and you ended up liking him."
"I think sometime after our first date, maybe because I just started to like his charm," Sweetie Belle said.
"He is charming," Cozy Glow agreed. "Still, it is so strange how you started dating, like it didn't have the beginning I expected. I mean, what are you gonna tell your kids if they ever ask how you met?"
"Huh, never thought about that," Sweetie Belle said. "Guess we're gonna have quite a story to tell them."
"Could be a lesson in being honest with others and yourself," Rumble pointed out.
Sweetie Belle's ears perked at the statement, "Oh, great idea! Our relationship almost failed because of dishonesty." Sweetie Belle thought to herself a moment. "Well technically it did briefly due to that, even if it was a different event, but still, it could work."
"I can admit the actual failure was on me," Cozy Glow sheepishly admitted as she rubbed her belly. "How am I gonna explain this little one's existence?"
"Don't worry about it right now," Sweetie Belle said, though she had to wonder how she would have to explain it to the child, as well as any other children she and Rumble are very likely to have together. Actually it's a guarantee, she wants to carry Rumble's next few children.
"Let's focus on the wedding date, hopefully we'll be married before Cozy Glow gives birth," Rumble said. "I'd like to go on our Honeymoon before the baby is born."
"Oh, that makes sense," Sweetie Belle said. "But who's gonna take care of Cozy Glow while we're away?"
"Easy, Flitter would," Rumble said.
"Or I can go with you," Cozy Glow suggested.
Rumble began to blush, sheepishly rubbing his head, "Uh, that might be awkward, especially since one point of a Honeymoon is for me and Sweetie Belle to...well, you know."
"Hey, there's more to Honeymoons than...that," Sweetie Belle pointed out.
"Well, it is the main part," Rumble said.
"Still, I wouldn't mind if Cozy Glow came, I mean she might be really pregnant at the time and it just doesn't feel right leaving her behind," Sweetie Belle said.
"I promise not to bother you during your intimate moments," Cozy Glow teased.
"Cute," Rumble commented, somewhat annoyed. It felt weird discussing this matter in front of two girls he's been this intimate with. While they knew of each other, Rumble had to wonder if they knew of his other exploits.
"Well you two are gonna have some alone time today because I'm going to Canterlot," Cozy Glow announced.
"Huh? What for?" Rumble asked.
"While you two were away yesterday, Rarity offered to take me to Canterlot to see Tirek, Chrysalis and The Dazzlings," Cozy Glow explained. "I'm kind of curious to see what they're all up to."
"Oh, that sounds great," Sweetie Belle said. "I bet you'll be really happy to see them!"
"Sort of," Cozy Glow said. "I don't know if I can call them my friends, but we did spend a lot of time together, since we were all trapped in Tartarus at one point. I remember how surprised Sonata was when she first saw me, she couldn't believe they put a filly in a place like that."
"I still can't believe it," Rumble said.
"Plus the fact that we were stuck as stone statues for like four to five years," Cozy Glow said.
"I definitely couldn't believe that, even if I saw it with my own eyes," Rumble said.
"Well, it's all behind me, I'm finally free and I can live my life," Cozy Glow said. "As long as I follow Twilight's rules which...shouldn't be too hard, at least I hope."
"Just do what we do," Sweetie Belle said. "As in don't try to take over Equestria and try to be friendly to others. Remember those Friendship Lessons me and the girls gave you."
"Oh yeah, those lessons," Cozy Glow said. "I can remember them. Honestly it was kind of fun spending time with you girls."
"We had fun spending time with you too," Sweetie Belle said. "I mean, I still can't tell for sure if you really did like us or if you just pretended."
"I did like you, it's why I got you out of trouble," Cozy Glow said. "I really did want to help you get in, just to have some friends in the school with me, and I really didn't want you to get in trouble."
"Well that's nice, there was always some good in you," Sweetie Belle said. "My only regret is not spending more time with you."
"At least we can now," Cozy Glow said. "And I'm making the most of it."
"Yeah, you know we should spend some time together soon," Sweetie Belle said. "Get some fun in before you can't move around too much, once you really get pregnant you're not gonna be able to move around much."
"Yeah, I got a few months to get a little extra fun in," Cozy Glow said. "Alright, let's do something tomorrow. If Rumble's alright with that."
"Fine with me, just take care of yourself," Rumble said, then rubbed Cozy's belly. "And our little foal."
"Tee-hee, I will," Cozy Glow said.
Sweetie Belle felt slightly jealous at the moment, though she knows Rumble is just being protective of his child, the one she wishes she were carrying. Sweetie Belle hates thinking this way but deep down it is what she feels.
"So who's gonna take you to Canterlot?" Rumble asked.
"Rarity is, she offered to accompany me," Cozy Glow explained.
"Well that's nice of her," Sweetie Belle said. "It would be a nice chance for you two to bond."
"That'd be nice, I don't have any brothers or sisters," Cozy Glow said. "The closest I had to a family were my friends in Tartarus. Tirek is the grumpy uncle, Chrysalis is the nagging aunt, Adagio is the smug older sister, Aria is the moody older sister and Sonata is the type of older sister who would spoil the younger sister."
"Ooh, that's a nice way to look at it," Sweetie Belle said. "Well you do that, Rumble let's go meet with the Crusaders."
"Huh? What for?" Rumble asked.
"Apple Bloom and Dinky are dating now, I want some details," Sweetie Belle said.
Rumble tapped his chin, "I am pretty curious about that myself. Alright, let's get to it." Rumble turned to Cozy Glow. "You'll be alright without me?"
"If I need anything, I have Rarity for that," Cozy Glow said, getting up from the table. "Tootles."
Cozy Glow made her way out the room, leaving Rumble and Sweetie Belle to themselves, Rumble still a bit worried for the filly carrying his foal.
"You really think Cozy will be alright with just Rarity?" Rumble asked.
"You worry too much," Sweetie Belle said. "Come on, let's go see our friends."
Rumble nodded and agreed to follow, but it still lingered within him. He continues to remember his current predicament, he has to care for a mare that's carrying his child, while preparing his marriage to a completely different mare. He has no idea how to treat Cozy Glow compared to Sweetie Belle, being pregnant is a lot of work for a mare and he wants to figure out ways to help Cozy Glow through this.
Rumble kicks himself for being so foolish as a foal, because of his actions a mare had to carry his child without even the promise of a husband, and despite that being his baby, there's only so much he could do. Anything he considered almost felt like he was cheating on Sweetie Belle. Perhaps she can help him figure this out.
"Hey Sweetie Belle, how am I going to take care of Cozy Glow?" Rumble asked.
"Huh? Well you'll just make sure she's comfortable, I mean I can't say for sure since I've never been pregnant, and I don't know anypony who has really, at least not enough to have any better of an idea," Sweetie Belle said.
Rumble sighed in worry, "This is gonna be difficult, how do I take care of a mare carrying my baby, while at the same time not feel like we're a couple."
"Hey if I help then it won't feel that way," Sweetie Belle said.
"Still, it's just so...ugh, any idea I have almost sounds too intimate, I want that baby to feel loved, and to do that Cozy Glow needs to feel loved too," Rumble said. "Imagine months from now, she's going to feel so miserable, we're going to be together while she's struggling with a child."
"She won't be struggling, we'll be taking care of her!" Sweetie Belle emphasized. "Look Rumble I can't really give you too many answers, this is unusual to me too, I mean I'm letting my fiancé's old marefriend live with us while that very same marefriend is pregnant with my fiancé's child. I'm weirded out too, but we'll figure this out together. Just run your ideas by me and I'll figure out what we should do, I mean I do agree that Cozy Glow needs to feel loved, and I do agree that she's probably going to be a bit miserable since you and I are getting married but we'll get her through it."
"I...I'm just worried for the baby too, Cozy Glow brought up an excellent point," Rumble said. "That baby is going to call me 'daddy' and Cozy Glow 'mommy'."
"That's fine, I can be it's mom too, it'll have one dad and two moms, three parents that love him or her and will raise him or her with care," Sweetie Belle said. "Let's worry about this later, no use getting worked up now."
"Easier said than done, but alright," Rumble said. "I just hope this doesn't blow up in our face."
"It won't, trust me Rumbly," Sweetie Belle said, kissing her fiancé to calm his nerves. "I'm a Cutie Mark Crusader, figuring things out is my specialty."
Rumble wasn't too sure about that, but she did seem rather determined to get through this, "Well if you think we'll be fine, then I'll trust you."
"Good to know, now let's hurry," Sweetie Belle said, walking off to the treehouse with Rumble following her closely.
Later on, a train stopped at Canterlot's station, both Rarity and Cozy Glow stepped off, ready to meet the former villains at the castle.
"Ready to see your old friends?" Rarity asked. "Or rather former acquaintances?"
"Somewhat, I am curious to how they're all doing though," Cozy Glow said.
"I am curious myself, I hope they're adjusting properly to Equestria life," Rarity said. "I know how hard it was for Starlight, even Discord seems to still mess up on occasion."
"Tell me about it," Cozy said, looking a bit annoyed. "I still can't believe he tricked us like that."
"I do question that," Rarity said. "Rumble made a valid point, your friends were in Tartarus, bringing them out did seem rather counterproductive. Not that I condone what you all did with that opportunity."
"Yeah I know, Twilight already lectured us about it," Cozy Glow said. "She wants to be friends but somehow I don't think she trusts us quite yet."
"That's gonna take time, but I think you can earn that trust," Rarity said.
"Sometimes I wonder, did we really do anything that bad?" Cozy Glow asked. "Chrysalis just needed love to feed off of, Tirek was trying to make his parents proud, The Dazzilings also need energy and I wanted to make friends."
"I won't get into that, I mean your motivations are good, it's how you went about them," Rarity said. "Let's not dawdle, in we go."
Cozy Glow followed Rarity into the castle, feeling a bit unease in the building. Many of the guards recognized her, some feeling mistrustful of the filly, not that she could blame them, even if it irked her that they were probably casting judgement on her.
As they walked through the corridors, they finally made it into Twilight's throne room. In sing-song tone, Rarity greeted her friend, "We're here!"
"Rarity?" Twilight turned to her friend and spotted the filly alongside her. "Cozy Glow! You made it! Bit early though."
"No one else is here yet?" Cozy Glow asked.
"They should be here momentarily, which is fine because it allows us a chance to catch up with each other," Twilight said. "How are things for you so far? You're living with Rumble and Sweetie Belle now right? I believe that's what they told me yesterday."
"Yeah, we're staying together at Rarity's Boutique until we can get a place of our own," Cozy Glow explained.
"That's quite generous, of course it's for good reason, you are after all pregnant with Rumble's child," Twilight said. "Though, I am surprised that even happened, and I'm not too pleased you two weren't being responsible in your romance. Were you aware you were in heat?"
"I really didn't care, Rumble made me feel good in more ways than one," Cozy Glow said. "I needed that relief considering I spent a better portion of my time stuck in a house."
"I do understand your frustrations Cozy Glow," Twilight said. "However, you and I both know why you were confined the way you were."
"So I wanted to be Princess, so I wanted a little power, who hasn't desired that power?" Cozy Glow insisted.
Twilight shook her head in shame, there was no reasoning with this filly, her desire for power was too grand, and truthfully Twilight worried that this mindset would continue to affect her to the point where Cozy Glow would be hungry for that type of power again.
"Cozy, I want to meet up with you on a regular occasion, I am very curious about your desires and motivations, and more importantly, I want to get to know you better," Twilight said.
"Really?" Cozy Glow asked. "Any reason?"
"I'm just curious about you," Twilight said. "Maybe if I got to know you better I could help make things much easier for you in Equestria."
"I do like easy," Cozy Glow said.
"Who doesn't?" A voice said. Everypony turned to see Adagio Dazzle making her way inside with Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze. "It's the mother to be."
"How children grow up so fast," Chrysalis said, making her way in as well as a portal opened in the room.
"Time for our fun little reunion," Tirek said, stepping through and standing nearby his old allies. "Princess Twilight, good to see you."
"And you Lord Tirek," Twilight said, turning to the others. "It's a pleasure to see all of you."
"Never thought you'd say that to me," Chrysalis said. "How times change."
"Yeah, its almost a bit weird," Tirek said, scratching his head. "Just last week I was plotting to destroy you."
"Wouldn't be the first major turn around," Twilight said. "I just wanted to know how everyone was doing in adjusting to their new lives."
"It's a pain in the neck," Aria said. "There's almost nothing to feed on."
"I'm working on that, I promise I won't let any of you go hungry," Twilight reassured. "Chrysalis, are you feeding well?"
"This 'sharing love' thing is still rather new to me, thankfully Thorax has helped keep me nourished," Chrysalis said.
"That's kind of him," Twilight said. "I take it you're used to seeing him as King?"
"Absolutely not, that's still a blow to my pride," Chrysalis said. "No disrespect to Thorax but I still wish I were the one ruling over The Changelings."
"It's weird for me too," Tirek said. "Since going back home I've had to live under my brother's rule, he hasn't said anything but I know he's gloating."
"Oh come now Tirek, I am quite sure your brother is happy to have you back," Twilight said.
"Of course you'd say that, I bet you always get along with your brother," Tirek said.
"Well me and my brother do have a good relationship but even we've had our quarrels," Twilight said. "When I was about to get married, he didn't even tell me he proposed, I found out through an invitation!"
"Yes you made quite a big deal about it," Rarity commented.
Twilight rolled her eyes a bit, "Well I had a right to, I mean who doesn't tell their sister they're getting married. I mean, I get he wanted it to be a surprise since it was to somepony I knew but still!"
Cozy turned to Chrysalis, "You mentioned trying to marry Shining Armor, did you have anything to do with that?"
"I was too busy with my own plans, plus he already seemed like the forgetful type," Chrysalis said.
"Um, maybe not a good idea to bring up the wedding," Rarity said. "After all, it was a bit of a hassle."
"It's fine Rarity, it's in the past, I know Chrysalis is very sorry for what she did," Twilight said.
"Eh..." Chrysalis shrugged it off. "I did what I had to do to survive so."
Twilight frowned at the response, "Well...I should hope that you can find another way to get what you need without taking it from somepony."
"Give her some time, she'll adjust," Sonata said. "We all need to adjust, I bet it took Starlight a while to adjust."
"It did, all that matters is the patience to try," Twilight said.
"Maybe sometime soon we can do that meeting you set up for Cozy Glow a few years ago, with Starlight, Tempest Shadow, Stygian and the other villains turned friends," Sonata suggested.
"Ooh, great idea!" Twilight said. "I'll get that set up as soon as possible!"
"Ugh, that thing again?" Cozy Glow said. "That was so boring last time."
"You certainly didn't seem bored since you kind of turned everyone against Rainbow Dash, took me a good while to get her back on their good side," Twilight said.
"To be fair, she could stand to be a little more friendly," Sonata said. "I know she's a nice pony but she can be a little too quick to judge, sometimes it makes me a bit nervous, like she's waiting for me to make a mistake, and she might do that with the rest of us."
"Well you shouldn't have to worry that much, just do your best, that's all I'll ask for," Twilight said. "I know Rainbow Dash can be a bit stubborn but she's just protective of her friends, once she lightens up she'll grow to love you all."
"I hope so," Sonata said.
"Well, I'll leave you all to yourselves, you probably want to catch up and I don't want to feel like I'm intruding," Twilight said. "Rarity, would you mind coming with me? My friends need accurate measurements for my upcoming wedding, if you're not already too busy."
"Oh nonsense, I'd be happy to help you plan your wedding too, oh I how I envy you for picking out such a handsome stallion," Rarity said, leaving the room with Twilight. "Even if it's a stallion we had to grow ourselves."
"Hey that makes us almost sound old," Twilight pointed out.
"Oh you're getting married soon, who cares about age when you're engaged?" Rarity said. "Besides I'm older than you and I can handle it, so I think you can as well."
"Well..." Twilight thought a moment before agreeing. "Guess you're right, let's get going then."
As the two left, Cozy turned her attention back to her old friends and teammates, "So...how is everypony doing?"
"Could be better" Adagio said. "I think we've already covered that this new life isn't as easy as they made it sound."
"I almost hate it honestly," Chrysalis said. "Why did we agree to this again?"
"Probably to avoid getting turned to stone again," Tirek said. "But after just a couple of days under my brother's rule, I'm starting to wonder if being stone was that bad in the first place, or being locked in Tartarus for a thousand years."
"Come on, do you really prefer that?" Sonata asked. "At least now you have a chance for a better life, even if it a rough start."
"Rough start is an understatement," Tirek said. "I mean, seeing my brother on the throne is quite a blow to my ego. Never did seem to have harmony with my family, having a father that sees me as a failure, and my mother...well she has never really set off my ire, I could actually confide with her a bit better at least."
"Most of the Changelings seem to look at me differently, I used to be their queen, now I have to be their equal!" Chrysalis said. "To fall so low is truly a terrible fate, not to mention many of them don't even respect me."
"You can work on it, it'll be worth it in the end," Sonata said. "Tirek, you'll find your place in your Kingdom soon enough, and Chrysalis, you will find your spot under Thorax's rule. Maybe you can talk more with those you're now serving under, try to come to an understanding."
"You act like it's that simple," Chrysalis said. "I despise having to be under the ruling of one of my old subjects!"
"I have to follow my brother's law," Tirek said. "I bet he enjoys bossing me around now."
"I had to give up the love of my life and be around as he marries another girl," Cozy Glow said. "All while giving birth to a child he put in me, all while I had to lose my Alicorn powers, again. I mean the magic would have at least been a nice bit of consolation after everything else I lost!"
"Hey you want to live freely in Equestria then this is what you have to do," Sonata said. "Just give it a chance, what do you have to lose?"
"My sanity," Tirek said.
"Same, at least what's left of it," Chrysalis said.
"Come on, it's like you have to be evil rulers to be happy," Sonata said. "Chrysalis, you only did what you did to feed your Changelings, now they're flourishing, shouldn't that be enough for you?"
"Eh..." Chrysalis said.
"And Tirek...well I cant explain you, it just sounds like you're upset because you think you to failed your parents," Sonata said.
"Hey that's just low," Tirek said.
"The only reason me, Sonata and Aria had to do bad things was to feed off energy," Sonata said. "We're having a rough start but I trust Twilight's judgement and I believe we'll be able to live and prosper just fine."
"I'm still having doubts," Adagio said.
"Yeah, to think, had things gone a little differently all those years ago, we could have been ruling over Equestria," Aria said.
"Still don't know how that went so wrong," Tirek said, scratching his head.
"It just wasn't meant to be," Sonata said. "Let's just forget about what happened, it's in the past now."
"Kind of hard to just forget that these ponies turned against us and turned us into stone and left us like that for a few years," Aria said.
"We're only free because Grogar needed our help," Adagio said. "Somehow I don't think Twilight would have freed us, and she's only sparing us because we saved her and her friends."
"Yeah, we're heroes, I mean didn't it feel nice knowing we saved the world?" Sonata asked.
"Truthfully I only went through with it to get revenge on Grogar," Tirek said.
"Same, otherwise we'd still be fighting," Chrysalis said.
Sonata shook her head in shame, then turned her attention to Cozy Glow. "You're awfully quiet, do you have anything to say?"
Cozy honestly wasn't sure how to answer any of this. On one hoof, losing her power as an Alicorn Princess and the chance to marry the stallion of her dreams was a huge blow to the girl. She felt very frustrated that all the work she did, including getting pregnant with his foal resulted in nothing for her on that end.
But at the same time, she's still going to be living with him, he's still going to help her take care of her baby, and she did make a new best friend out of it. Plus she gets to live with a nice family this time instead of being stuck in Tartarus or turned to stone.
Cozy Glow still had mixed feelings regarding Sweetie Belle, still trying to decide if she views her as a romantic rival and hates that she is the reason she doens't have Rumble, but Sweetie Belle is being kind to her.
Truthfully, Cozy Glow was already tired of this internal struggle, she had to resolve it, and she'll do that ASAP.
"Did she hear you?" Aria asked. "She's just standing there in a daze."
"Maybe she's having an internal realization?" Sonata theorized, then approached Cozy Glow, waving in from of his face. "Cozy Glow?"
"Huh?" Cozy snapped out of it. "Sorry, that question made me think over some things, especially my life the last couple of days."
"Well, that's a good thing, I think," Sonata said.
"Does this have to do with Rumble?" Chrysalis asked.
"Yeah..." Cozy Glow admitted. "I do wish we got together, I wish we were the ones getting married, I guess I can't help being in love with him still."
"Guess it's hard to forget love like that," Sonata said.
"Such an understatement," Chrysalis agreed. "Love was blooming off of her anytime she was near Rumble, took a lot of resistance to not feed off of it."
"So, Cozy Glow, are you not happy right now?" Aria asked. "Is being around Rumble and Sweetie Belle too heartbreaking for you?"
"Honestly...it still feels too early for me to tell if I really am happy at all really," Cozy Glow said. "Even if I feel like this, I do want to try to get better. I want to wait it out a bit longer, and maybe everyone else should do that too. It's too early to make decisions."
"Great answer, just like I've been saying," Sonata said. "We just have to give it a chance, if we act too rashly now then we might regret it."
"Suit yourself," Chrysalis said.
"Personally I am looking forward to this opportunity, it's much better than the last one I got since this time, me, Adagio and Aria can live together peacefully in Equestria, and once Twilight figures out our plight, we should end up even better," Sonata said.
"What are you doing for nutrients until then?" Cozy Glow asked.
"We just need to eat a bit more than most other ponies," Sonata said.
"I better not end up fat over this, or I'm really gonna be pissed," Aria said.
"You're not getting fat Aria, you look great," Sonata said.
"Eh, she is a bit pudgier," Tirek commented
Aria glared a hole through the centaur, "What, the fuck, did you just say!?"
"Aria!" Sonata scolded.
"Tirek, never comment on a female's figure," Chrysalis said. "It's quite possibly the most foolish thing a male can do."
"I was just being honest, she's the one worrying about it," Tirek said. "I mean isn't Cozy Glow gonna get pudgy because of the child growing in her?"
Cozy Glow felt some dread, remembering that soon her belly is gonna grow, and it's probably gonna hurt too. "I'm not looking forward to that."
"Good thing I lay eggs," Chrysalis said. "It's a bit of a pain but still easier than child birth."
"This really isn't help," Cozy Glow said, rubbing her belly.
"At least you have two ponies who will help you, one of them being the father of course," Sonata said. "And the other being his girlfriend...or rather fiancé, I heard Rumble proposed."
"He did, we're all gonna live together now," Cozy Glow said. "Right now I'm living in Rarity's house until Rumble and Sweetie Belle can afford one of their own, and I'm going to live with them so they can help me bring up my child."
"Aw, that's so nice of them to do," Sonata said.
"Well Rumble better help out, he's the one who got her pregnant," Aria said. "If he bailed then I probably would have destroyed him."
"Same, I would have made what I did to his wings look tame," Adagio said.
"Rumble seems too kind hearted to do that, he was the one who was willing to help us," Chrysalis said. "Personally I still think it was a foolish risk on his behalf, considering we could have killed him at any moment, the only thing keeping him alive was Cozy Glow's love for him."
"He was a bit naïve, but I respect that he hated Twilight's rule, it kind of confirmed that not all ponies love Twilight and her friends and that there were bound to be rebels," Tirek said.
"There still could be, who's to say that somepony won't step up and try to overthrow her power," Aria said.
"If that happens, then we'll help her, won't we?" Sonata asked, the others not giving a steady answer. "Come on! She would do the same for us!" Still no steady answer. "Seriously?"
"I mean...none of us really like Twilight that much," Adagio said. "Remember she only gave us another chance because we helped her defeat Grogar, if we stayed to the side she would have turned us back into stone probably, or thrown us in Tartarus."
"I mean, we were trying to conquer Equestria, can't really blame Twilight," Sonata said.
"We can and will," Aria said.
"I'm almost surprised she didn't turn us into stone anyway," Tirek said.
"Come on, Twilight really isn't pretty, I think in time you'll all grow to love her," Sonata said.
"Bit of a strong desire there," Cozy Glow said. "Gonna be hard to love somepony like Twilight."
"Well, I think I can," Sonata said.
Unbeknownst to all of the villains, Twilight wasn't that far away, in fact she heard just about everything, having only pretended to have left so she can get an idea of what the villains truly think, meanwhile Rarity had gone to find Tender Taps to go over some things and get a proper measurement.
"Looks like I have work to do to make sure the six of them don't revert back to evil," Twilight muttered to herself. "But there is hope at least."
Time passed and the former villains returned to their homes, Cozy Glow in particular making her way into the Carousel Boutique alongside Rarity.
"We're home!" Rarity announced.
"Hi Rarity!" Sweetie Belle greeted. "Glad your back."
"Hi Sweetie Belle, where's Rumble?" Rarity asked.
"In the kitchen!" Rumble said. "Making some dinner."
"A stallion who can cook, the perfect mate for a proper lady," Rarity said. "We're both lucky in that regard Sweetie Belle. Well you more than me since Rumble lives here while Thunderlane still lives back at his home."
"It is a nice thing to have," Cozy Glow said. "Especially since I really can't cook."
"That's alright, neither can Sweetie Belle," Rarity said.
"Hey!" Sweetie Belle shouted, clearly offended. "Mom says I'm a great cook."
"Right..." Rarity leaned in to whisper. "She's really not."
Sweetie Belle looked a bit frustrated. "You're such a pain Rarity."
"You have to accept honesty Sweetie Belle, it's one thing I picked up from Applejack, though even she herself occasionally needs a brush up," Rarity said. "Well I'm going to check on Rumble in the kitchen."
Rarity walked off, leaving the two fillies to themselves, Sweetie Belle looking a bit agitated, "What does Rarity know, like she's a gourmet chef."
"Not everypony can be like Rumble," Cozy Glow said, chuckling a bit. "It's no big deal after all, Rumble's a great cook, so you are lucky."
"I guess so, he also likes to cook," Sweetie Belle said. "You look tired, come have a seat with me, pregnant mares shouldn't walk too much."
"Not that pregnant, but alright," Cozy Glow said. She wanted to talk with Sweetie Belle anyway.
While dinner was being prepped, Cozy Glow had sat on a sofa next to Sweetie Belle, the filly greeting her friend. "Hey Cozy Glow, how was your trip to Canterlot."
"Um, pretty enlightening," Cozy Glow said, not really getting into details yet.
"U, I guess that's a unique way to put it," Sweetie Belle said.
"...Sweetie Belle I..." Cozy Glow wasn't sure how to say this, she wanted to make sure the two had a good relationship built on trust, but she was too nervous to admit her feelings. "Thing is..."
"What's wrong? You can tell me," Sweetie Belle said.
"It's just a bit awkward," Cozy Glow said. "But...Sweetie Belle, I...I really do like you, and I hope we can be friends a long time."
Sweetie Belle seemed a bit confused by what this filly was saying. "Well, of course we are, I told you that you're part of my family now. You're gonna be the mother of a baby all three of us will raise."
"Yes, the mother of your baby," Cozy Glow said. "Sometimes though, I do envy the fact that well...it's still gonna be you and Rumble that get married, and I'm just gonna be a third wheel."
Sweetie Belle felt empathy for this filly, she did have a point, no matter how hard they try to intergrade her into the family, she's still going to miss out on quite a bit.
"Cozy Glow..." Sweetie Belle nuzzled against the filly. "I'm sorry you feel this way, I wish there was something I could do to help."
"I think I'll be fine," Cozy Glow then took Sweetie Belle's hoof and placed it over her belly. "But I do worry about my baby too...our baby. I worry how it's gonna grow up.
"We'll make it work," Sweetie Belle said, rubbing her friend's belly. "I'll do what I can to help you fill that void in your life. I know you won't be marrying Rumble, I know you want to, but I hope our friendship will be enough. I mean, is it really that different than marriage in the end?"
"I just don't know," Cozy Glow said, feeling even more concerned.
Sweetie Belle pulled Cozy in for a hug, resting her friend's head on her chest as she stroked her mane, "We'll figure it out, we just need to have faith and patience."
"Yeah...faith and patience," Cozy Glow said. Just like she told her friends, she just needs to believe in Sweetie Belle. She had to admit though, she did like being in Sweetie Belle's embrace, the filly really making her feel loved. It almost reminded her of the times she was with Rumble, maybe this can be a nice substitute, even if not entirely the same. "I do love being with you Sweetie Belle, I'm glad we get to be in a family together."
"Me too," Sweetie Belle said, placing a kiss on Cozy Glow's cheek. "I love having you around."
Cozy Glow blushed from the affection, "Thanks...I love being around you."
The two sat together a bit, Sweetie Belle still with her hoof on her friend's belly, almost trying to feel the baby's presence while Cozy Glow leaning against her friend a bit, liking how soft her fur felt.
Sweetie Belle glanced at Cozy Glow, she was a really pretty filly, with her cute curly hair and her freckles, even the way she spoke at times. She almost understood why Rumble was so entranced by her. She also must have been a good kisser if Rumble melted in her hooves like he did that day. Not the most pleasant memory still, but one she started getting a different understanding of.
"Girls! Dinner's almost ready!" Rumble called.
Much as she liked being in her friend's embrace, Cozy Glow did feel a bit hungry, "Time for some yummy food."
Sweetie Belle also got up, "Something I know our baby will love."
"Yeah, you're right," Cozy Glow said, rubbing her belly as she followed Sweetie Belle into the kitchen. Cozy Glow had to admit, hearing Sweetie Belle call the baby her own as well made the pregnant filly feel a lot better about this. Maybe she can make this work.
