It is done, Sally is rescued, derobotsized, Ixis and St. John were defeated and Ixis was forced to come clean of what his real intentions for the city and it's people were,leaving him no choise but to surrender the throune back to Elias, with some help from Dulcy with Nicole's name also cleared since Sonic decided to go Dulcy for assistance. St. John lost his magic and was easily subdued by team fighters, Antoine revived from his coma, the divided teams went and retrieved bunnie and the Knothole freedom fighters were back together as one at last. However, there is one thing that's been bothering Sonic, that it's the freedom fighters don't decide the villain situations and which and when to counter them because the acorn council doesn't allow it unless the Knothole freedom fighters don't bother reporting back and take matters in their own hands.
On the way back to freedom HQ, three flashbacks of Sonic lecturing with the real king of New Mobotropolis, Elias Acorn due to his dishoner of the council, no decision to look for St. John despite Sonic's report to Acorn council which led to Ixis taking the throne by force out of St John's betrayal to the Acorn family's trust and the entire council refusing to listen to Sonic's warnings of Axis and what he really plans to do with New Mobitropolis over his second dishoner to the council and Sonic believing that they're bring stupid due to Axis using their emotions with his magic were constantly repeating continuously in his head. That is until Sally interrupted his constant flash backing.
"Sonic." Sally Spoke out to Sonic.
Sonic shot out of his thoughts and turned his head left to Sally. They're on the freedom fighter special and Sally was seating next to him on his left.
"Are you okay?" Sally asked her lover with concern in her eyes for him.
Sonic let's his head return to it's normal fountain position, then hung it low.
"Sal, you remember how us freedom fighters used to have our own council back at Knothole?" Sonic asked Sally.
"Yes." Sally answered Sonic with a nod of her head.
"I don't reckon it's a good idea having villain situations decided by the council of Acorn. So the councilors were freedom fighters, but half of them were substitute freedom fighters, not main ones like you and me." Sonic exclaimed to Sally with his head hanging low.
"I know Sonic, but that council is just trying to run things in the city, so what mission they plan for us goes. Besides, they're not deciding everything for us since we're now keeping the ones we already know to ourselves." Sally pointed out to Sonic.
"What difference do you find with main freedom fighters and substitute freedom fighters anyway?" Sally asked Sonic.
"One, main freedom fighters fight for freedom more often than substitute ones. Two, main freedom fighters have more experience, three, better skills, four, Rosemary Prowerer has no actual knowledge of the first Robotnik war and half the second one and most importantly, has a group of main freedom fighters like you and me Sally know heaps more villains, their abilities, strengths and weaknesses while the council, apart from your brother Elias only knew of Eggman and his nephew Snively." Sonic pointed out to Sally as he counted the number of differences with the fingers of his right white-gloved hand.
"That maybe, but Hamlin told me while him and the rest of the council had me on trail, he pointed out the council would be redundant if they let us do anything, even for the greater good." Sally pointed out to Sonic.
Will he's wrong Sal, the councils made to run our city, not us heroes. Besides, we Left the planning to the council when it came to the Iron domination and look where it got New Mobtropolis into, invaded and ruined. If that were still Eggman, we would've lost the city sooner than we did with Knothole" Sonic leisured to Sally
"No way am I gonna let the council control us and tell us what we can and can't do, especially if we're right and they're wrong, even if Uncle Chuck is part of the council. Besides, if I haven't disobeyed the council for their wrong decision, the Suspension squad would take advantage of us bring too busy with dealing with Egghead and make our world become like theirs starting with our home. Sure Nicole's protecting it, but she can only spread the nanites so thin." Sonic continued to the princess.
"I see your point Sonic. But Eggman got us by surprise and burned Knothole to the ground with his fleet when we lest expected it. And dispute that we could rebuild Knothole, the land where it once stood had to recover first, which would take a very long time, and there's no point cause we're still waiting on to see the endgame of the alien conflict." Sally pointed out to Sonic with him nodding in response.
"In retrospect we should've had Uncle Chuck, Tails and Rotor build a protective force field as a shield for the entire kingdom for just in case, at least my brother should since he's the king." She added sadly.
Sonic lifted his head back, turn it medium left to Sally and averted his sight with a smirk.
"Well at least we still have the H.Q, also the great waste have already started getting healthy grass round some of the edges. Maybe after dealing with whatever alien fleet wins comes our way only to be met with defeat by our brawl, we should otter clear the land of what rubbish remains, boost nature to recover the great waste to at least a glassy field so that we can finally rebuild Knothole Complete with a shield of course. Besides, our current home city can only inhabit so many people and Nicole can't use the nanites for anymore buildings." Sonic stated to Sally positively, hoping to build some confidence in her.
"Well Sonic if we gonna rebuild Knothole it would just have be in a different location, but then again, it had been relocated before, not only that, we need materials and construction tools that we precisely have none of." Sally stated to Sonic.
"Well yeah but still, if we can get the opportunity to bring back Knothole, we should be able to get some help from other cities. Donations can give us a boost too. And if that does happen, we shall name it New Knothole and you and me shall be it's founders." Sonic remarked to Sally to which Sally lightened his face in response to.
She turned his head to Sonic, shot his sight to him and smiled warmly at him. She moved her right hand onto Sonic's left white-gloved hand and warped her right hand on it.
"Good to see that you still have your confidence Sonic but we don't need a city of our own to run a freedom fighting council. But I tell you what, this evening I'll think of a solution for our team. As soon as I figured it out, we'll make a request to the council."
"And what if they say no?" Sonic asked Sally.
"Then I'll have our group resign from the royal army so we won't be it's independent group anymore and move us out to Station Square and in the process, my brother and his council can the loyalty from the entire team goodbye. It'll be feather from the H.Q, but at least the humans still have our full trust." Sally answered Sonic.
Sonic passionately laid his head on Sally's right arm which Sally returned romantically laying her head on Sonic's right shoulder as she wrapped her left arm on Sonic's torso.
"I love you Sally Acorn. Let's keep our team together from now on." Sonic stated to Sally romantically.
Sally giggled as she shook her head in disbelieve of Sonic and averted her sight lovingly back on Sonic.
"I don't know what I'm gotta do with you Sonic, but I love you too." Sally responded to Sonic.
And they both embraced into a kiss, unaware that the rest of the team ears dropping on the couple and sighting at them apart from Rotor since he's piloting the Freedom fighter special, yet still listening to their conversion out of ears dropping himself. They all awed at the couple.
